Laggan Wolftrax Cafe in Highland

The Laggan Wolftrax cafe is a superb place to recharge and refuel especially if you're planning a day of mountainbiking on what is some of Scotland's very best trails. The cafe is clean and well presented and the staff are friendly and superb, all backed up by quality items to sample. I opted for the special which was Japanese chicken in BBQ sauce with rice and it was excellent and just what was needed before a day on the trails. There are clean and well maintained restroom facilities also. You can pay to park by RingGo also for convenience. Recommended.

What a hidden gem, we nearly drove past thinking it was just for mountain bikers, but it is well worth a visit. Everyone was really friendly, and very welcoming of our collie Teg, and the food was absolutely amazing. Not only did they offer a choice of gluten free cakes but the carrot cake was delicious.

The food was delicious, and they had plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options for us and a great selection of drinks! The service was great and the staff were so nice! We were worried we wouldn't find a lunch place on the way to our hotel and then this popped up 😭

I visit the area once or twice a year and always buy some of their blueberry flapjacks. They taste great. Have clean bathrooms also.

Brilliant cafe, great coffee, cakes & nachos, just what you want after riding the trails, smiley staff, clean, defo recommend.

Lovely facilities. A great little cafe with a variety of food to suit all tastes. We just had cake and tea. The owner was very friendly. We didn’t have time to go for a walk or cycle but it looked like a great area for a day out.

Really friendly service, great hearty food and a lovely setting. Exactly what you would hope a MTB or walkers rest stop to be. Dog friendly as well. Reasonably priced for the tourist trail.

This cafe is bright, airy with freshly made home baking. Coffee is excellent, staff attentive and when we were there, the sun was shining. The external visitor panels provide a lot of local interesting tourist info for the rest of the Cairngorms area

Was at Laggan Wolftrax for a day of mountain biking and swung by the cafe for lunch, ordering the veggie chillli nachos and a slab of rockie road. Neither disappointed, in fact the veggie chilli was by far and away the best chili I have ever had! The portion was superb with a good dollop of sour cream and gucamole, generous helping of nachos and a good helping of chilli with a nice mix of vegetables and vegeterian mince, top off by some warming but not too hot jalepenos. Highly recommend you swing by even if you are just passing.

Called in on a minor divert whilst cycling the An Turas Mor route. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, great bacon butty and even better coffee!

Lovely lunch after a couple of ups and downs at wolftrax. Rolls were epic and soup tastefully spiced. Will be back as the food matches the quality of the (recently resurfaced on lower orange) trails.

Stopped here twice for lunch, first time with friends and the second time with our dog, after a walk up to Dun da Lamh because we enjoyed our food so much the first time! A wonderful community run cafe (Social Enterprise), with a fantastic menu. Both times I opted for the soup and was not disappointed. My husband had a sandwhich, which was also served with crisps and a side salad. They cater for everyone, as my friend requested diary alternative for her coffee and their menu had vegan/gluten free options. The staff were friendly and the cafe clean and spacious and looks like there is a further outdoor eating area being built too. We've paid more money for a worse menu/service, so if you are passing by then give this place a try. There is ample parking but you do have to pay to park (£3 all day).

Really lovely. Great quality food. Lovely staff. Great coffee. Thank you. We stopped off passing through and just needed a decent coffee and a bite to eat. This place was unexpectedly lovely. I would rate the bacon sarnie here as the best I’ve ever had and my other half loved his sandwich.

We stopped by here on en route up north. I had the vegan chili nachos and my husband had the curry. Both were amazing and probably the best meal of our whole trip! We also had a couple of vegan milkshakes which were delicious! The people that worked there were lovely too, definitely recommend going out of your way to eat there!

We came upon Woftrax Cafe by chance, needing a break from traveling. The food is simple but VERY GOOD with a nice selection. Clean, bright, comfortable. Nice people. So happy we stopped!

We came upon this cafe by chance and it was a welcome pit stop for us. In the southern end of the Cairngorms national park, apparently a haven for mounting biking, but we just wanted some good coffee and a quick snack. Chicken, avocado, bacon sandwich and Smokey tomato soup were delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. This is a social enterprise of the Laggan Forest Trust so very worth your business! Rating 5 stars - not that it’s a Michelin loc, but it’s really a gem.

Just stopped for snack at Wolftrax cafe. Good coffee and high quality cheese and ham toastie proper bread real ham and cheese no plastic orangey gunk. And friendly service. You don't have to be a mountain biker to enjoy this place. Cracking

Although attached to mountain bike tracks, we only stopped to charge the car and visit the cafe. Friendly staff great BLT sandwiches.

On a journey from Skye to Perth. Not many places to stop, but this place, situated in the forest, surrounded by pines and an aura of quiet reflection was ideal. Friendly greeting, excellent coffee and freshly baked cakes the ideal refreshment. Thank you!

Had a day on the trails at Laggan Wolftrax, got a bit peckish so decided to have a bit of lunch in the cafe on site. The Bacon roll was quality, and the blueberry flapjack was very tasty. Excellent all round

After a rather wet wander through the woods with the dog, a nice friendly welcome and fantastic freshly made sandwiches coffee and cake. Will probably have to walk a little further next time as the portions are huge.

Community run cafe particularly aimed for cyclists. Friendly staff, great home cooked food. The raspberry scones are delicious.

Stopped off here for brunch this morning. Excellent coffee. Great bacon and egg rolls _ my wife said they were the best she had ever had. Also exceptionally nice beetroot scone. All served with a warm friendly smile. Highly recommended.

I had cause to stop off on the A86 desperate for a light bite in the middle of quite a long drive. What a pleasant surprise awaited! Friendly service and excellent Smoky Tomato soup. And WiFi as well!

Lovely cafe, good food - we had veggie chilli and a sausage and egg bap - both tasty. Delicious hot chocolate after a mountain bike too. Very friendly and accommodating staff. We will be back.

We popped in for a very late lunch at 3.30pm. The lovely lady said they usually stop serving hot food from then but if we ordered quick she would feed us.

Stopped off with young kids for a break and to go on a short walk. Welcoming, clean, well priced and accommodating. Lovely cakes, tea, coffee and ice-cream. Bikes and paths are all well kept and bike rental / wash points (for bikes as well as showers in the toilet block) available.

Our campervan broke down near here and the staff were super lovely! Crispy bacon rolls and hot tea and coffee! They even gave us some chicken breast and water for our little puppy! So so thoughtful and nice of them! I will be recommending to anyone going this way to hop in and refuel yourself, tracks also look like some of the best for biking, will be back 100%!!

Great lunch/coffee stop on this major east-west route. Mountain Biking gives it a very relaxed atmosphere.

We were here to do some work on the trails, stayed on site for a week. Had lunch in the cafe most days and the food, coffee and service where excellent. Great lunch time sandwiches, soups, and home baking. Coffee was also just really good. Highly recommend stopping in, even if your not here for the trails.

We stopped off here on our way to another location for a coffee break and were very pleased that we did. Nice selection of food and drink in nice clean café with friendly service.

We had been motoring for a few hours are were desperately in need of a caffeine break when we came upon this super little café. We were first in as it opened at 10 o'clock and in no time at all were enjoying a quality mug of very hot coffee whilst the bacon was being grilled for our bacon rolls. What a treat! The menu on the board looked imaginative and I would expect, judging from the lovely home baking on offer, the cooking would be equally good. Everyone working there is polite and friendly and, although everything is cooked to order, the service swift and efficient.

We were staying in the area and called into the cafe everday initially for the wifi ( our cottage did not have) and then for the yummy coffee and cakes.We didn't eat any main courses but based on what we saw the food looks great.

We visited the cafe before going on the Wolftrax mountain biking trail and had a delicious homemade cake. The staff kindly offered to fill our water bottles for us before we cycled ( which we hadn’t bought from the cafe). Everywhere - including the loos - was really clean and well kept. After cycling we had hot drinks and hot bacon rolls. Absolutely delicious - and a brilliant menu including veggie and vegan options. All staff were so friendly - what a brilliant find!

Fantastic variety of food for lunch or afternoon snack. We had lunch there and it was brilliant, thoroughly enjoyed by all 5 of us.

I haven’t ridden at Laggan for a few years and was delighted to see the new cafe and toilets. I was especially happy to see a vegan option on the menu and thoroughly enjoyed the Vegan Nachos. I’ll definitely be back for more.

Have passed by it many times since its inception. Went in today and had the very best BLT I have ever had....All freshly made and served in a ecologically friendly take away pack.

Stopped here whilst walking the various local trails, great facilities with toilets and showers and a lovely cafe with home made cakes and a big mug of tea. Run by local people with profits used to make the area even better.

My family and I visited the Laggan Wolftrax Cafe whilst driving through the beautiful Cairngorms in August 2017. It was a welcome sight after a bit of driving. The setting is stunning, tranquil and relaxing. The cafe is clean with friendly, efficient staff. There is a variety of snacks, food and beverages available. The meals were tasty. A pleasant stop in the midst of all that beautiful scenery.

I just had black coffee and was very pleased, better than some big chain coffee specialists. I did not eat but friends enjoyed a couple of cakes.

Looking for somewhere for light lunch and a pit stop on the way back from Skye. Delighted to find it was open and enjoyed a good bowl of soup with fresh bread, and a scone and drinks, all served by a very friendly young man.

If your using the trails at Wolftrax then this place is fantastic, coffee is good and its warm inside!

we passed the laggan wolftrax with our motorbikes coincidentally and were suprised by the quality of the coffee and cakes. in all the 20 days in this tea-drinker country we never got better double espresso. next time we might be coming with our mountainbikes... ;)

A good stop with a vegan option on the yummy lentil nachos

3 times we have stopped here for a coffee and each time we come away thinking "that really was not worth the money" the cafe has lots of potential however there is very little choice, the coffee is ok but takes for ever to make staff are pleasant enough but no more, everything is far more expensive than other establishments of this type. We will not be trying a fourth time.

They don't sell pre-made sandwiches but offer a tiny range (3 types). The staff are lazy and don't care. Nobody knows how to use the coffee machines!! Twice we have stopped to buy lunch on our drive to the West coast and both times (after about an half hour wait) they lost our order. No apologies, just a statement that the order was lost somewhere. We did get an inedible chocolate brownie from them. We pass this place every month but now just make sandwiches before we leave.

Went in ordered 2 bowls of soup & 2 sandwiches .There was only one other couple in the place who were about to be served. We waited 30 mins then they said they had lost the order - it was the only order they had incredible ! They blamed the chef not being in ! Like you need a chef to heat soup & make a sandwich

I feel a bit of a fraud reviewing Wolftraxs as we were not taking part in the amazing cycling etc they offer but traveling to Fort William. We stopped at cafe for lunch and were very glad we did. Both the soup of the day and the lentil chilli were excellent, so much so I asked for recipe. The cafe was simple, clean and full of happy mountain bikers ( if that's the right name tag). It had a very good range of vegetarian, meat treats and all important cakes and coffees. We went in again on our return journey and again were not disappointed. Would recommend lentil chilli and pulled pork sandwich. This will be our stopping point from now on.

Dropped in here for breakfast rolls and coffee as I was staying along the road . Couldn't believe the prices of the bacon rolls etc. Prices have gone up dramatically since Thunder in the Glen last year. Won't be back .

Heard good things about the cafe at the fantastic Laggan Wolftrax, unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype, maybe it was my choice of food, but as that was my choice, that is what I must review. Ordered a bacon roll, waited 15 minutes for it, they weren't exactly busy, received a large ciabatta style bun containing 2 anaemic rashers of bacon , lost in the expanse of roll. Not complaining about the quality, more the quantity, my local Spar sells 5 rashers of bacon for £1, even this would have been considered sparse given the size of roll, and considering I was charged £4 for this roll it wasn't anywhere near good value for money, all in all disappointing and I will choose somewhere else on my next visit.

Había una familia de ciclismo de montaña y visitamos el café el día para el almuerzo. Teníamos 4 sopas que eran todos muy agradables y el café era muy bueno también. Lo que hizo fue el personal amable, agradable ver un viejo tío que sirve en vez de un adolescente como en la mayoría de cafeterías desinteresado centro de senderos de montaña en bicicleta!

Detenido en hoy aquí para 2 cafés y 1 taza pequeña tarta y me cobraron 10 libras increíbles. No creo que en todos mis años en escribir comentarios en Tripadvisor he dado una mala crítica, pero esta es la primera. He conducido el pasado este lugar unas cuantas veces en los últimos años, y como era mi cumpleaños, esposa de hoy me pasó por romper la unidad. Nunca más bien caro para lo que te dan.

Si como yo, estás subdesarro llados con sobre-precio de tarta y rebanadas bijou tazas de café en el trans A 9 Viaje de lochaber, te encantará la wolftrax caff. Butties tocino, scones, té y café y limpia loos. No caro sofisticación o mano hizo. . Mi propina? No pagar el aparcamiento del bosque de la empresa. Como un contribuyente es su bosque, y el café es una empresa social y nada que ver con el dinero, de la agencia de gobierno argumentos convincentes para sus bosques.

Excelente café, una cálida bienvenida y un asiento cómodo, todos fueron muy bienvenidos en el largo viaje en coche desde el este de Arisaig. Bollo era enorme, aunque un poco seca al final del día, pero nos dieron más mantequilla y mermelada para compensar. Ambiente encantador y disfrutamos de navegar en "comprobar "libros y compré unos cuantos.

It's a long road in coffee terms from Spean Bridge to the A9. This came as a welcome surprise and we enjoyed de went coffee and cake.

Estoy un poco indignado de leer críticas negativas de este café - hoy paramos en sólo porque estábamos un poco desesperados por ir al baño y decidió también tienen algo de comer. Tenía una preciosa y puerro sopa de patatas y una de las mejores BLTs de mi vida. La señora detrás del mostrador era muy amable y atento. Terminamos por conseguir mucho más de lo que pretendíamos, porque la calidad y el precio de la comida era muy buena. No puedo esperar a volver con más tiempo para algunos ciclismo de montaña hasta bajar los muchos, muchos BLTs quiero tener en ese lugar :)

Once again been disappointed with the cafe, they constantly have signs up on the toilets saying out of order use the disabled but it's just to save them cleaning them after being used also most of the tables have reserved signs on them but again just to save them cleaning them. 3 staff to serve cold soup after a 10 min wait.

Estado viniendo aquí durante diez años y quedé muy decepcionada con el café hoy. El aparcamiento estaba lleno y clubes de niños en vigor pero no había comida caliente se sirve. Terminamos con sopa de tomate tibia y comprobar preparados sandwiches refrigerados. Qué cantidad de ingresos debe haber sido perdido hoy

It was a good day when this cafe opened as the next nearest one is at least 10 miles away! Admittedly when a cycling event is on it can be extremely busy, but the staff are always friendly, even when rushed off their feet! I drop in whenever I am passing just to take away the vegetarian tikka sandwiches – I have never tasted anything else like them and they are delicious. If they aren't on the menu, I content myself with the very tasty, and also healthy, cakes.

We did not ride a bike or even look at others who were, we were after coffee and we found the coffee at the Laggan Wolftrax Cafe to be good and the variety of food to choose from too was great.

The tracks are excellent and well groomed. The cafe is good value with great coffee and snacks. If you're in the area it's worth going out of your way for. The guys in the bike shop also helped us out with a mechanical!

Really dissapointed with a recent visit to Wolftrax cafe, we arrived there hoping to have some hot breafast brunch to be told they had to send a member of staff home and could not do and hot food except Soup.

Paramos en el camino de Skye a Edimburgo cuando los niños quisquillosos y necesitan algunas paradas y refrescos. Este lugar no me decepcionó. El aparcamiento era barato. El café era muy espaciosa y sirve té, café y bocadillos o hamburguesas. Hay también un wc y la ducha por sólo 50 p. No estaba lleno y situado justo en frente del bosque de laggan. Terminado con la comida y los niños con su helado, no te preocupes por los excesos de azúcar. Conocimos a un caballero y una dama ambos fueron muy amables y parece que están funcionando o voluntarios para la actividad de Laggan bosque. Se ofrecieron a nuestros hijos a probar su nuevo sendero caminando por el bosque, justo detrás de la cafetería. Los niños nos dieron un papel con algunas fotos, entonces deben caminar en el bosque guiados por una cuerda azul como un camino, entonces cuando encontraron un cartel con la misma fotografía como en el papel, que el papel perforado, entonces siga la misma hasta el final del camino, y dado algunos dulces como premio. Debo decir que me sorprendió que mi ciudad no eran niños de la ciudad de los niños en todo! Les encantó y después nos quedamos un rato caminando por el bosque en 20-30 minutos a pie. Fue un maravilloso día, ya que era el día más caluroso del año en Escocia, alcanzando los 25º en ese día. Muy cálido y muy tranquilo. Realmente recomiendo este lugar!

Wordt vooral gebruikt voor mountainbikers en wandelaars maar heeft prima snacks voor een uitstekende prijs. De bediening is ook erg vriendelijk.

Si pasas por es un gran lugar para una parada para tomar café, rollo de bacon, tarta. Si usted está allí para el ciclismo - ir. Genial para principiantes. Es una buena parada en el camino entre Puente Spean (A82) y Dalwhinnie / Newtonmore / Laggan / Kingussie.

Really welcoming owner we really felt like we were home having coffee with friends.So relaxing after walking and a much needed cuppa.will be back for lunch
