Room was clean but extremely hot and stuffy. Was unable to open window and no air con. Grouting around taps in shower and bath dirty. Toilet seat came loose and we had no hot water for a shower the first night , had to boil a kettle to have a wash. The bar was OK but my prosecco was flat and the tables were dirty sticky and full of empty glasses at 10.30 on the Friday night. I have paid a lot less for a hotel room and had better quality and service. I also reported the lift as a trip hazard as it didn' open level with the floor. Once I complained I was refunded 22% of my room cost. Will not be staying at this boutique hotel again. ,

Book for our afternoon tea 26th of July 2024 @13:00.The sandwiches and selection of pudding are absolutely beautiful.Right size for me and husband a glass off prosecco with coffee as well. The only thing I suggest for their afternoon tea is to add couple of slice of sandwiches.Leave the crush of the sandwiches too.The waiter Carl and the chief Cristina was lovely as well.Highly recommended their afternoon tea.Diffinitely I would love to book again.

Nice hotel, quirky. Rooms were very warm and it wasn’t a warm day, would be unbearable if very hot as no ac but there was a fan.

A lovely hotel in a good location; staff are friendly and available to help. However, the air conditioning unit in our room had pools of water forming on top of it and once switched on would spit out water constantly. A few days later me and my partner both fell ill. Obliviously, I can't say with 100% certainty it was this but we are not ruling out the possibility. Please could this be checked in the rooms to eliminate the risk of this? As for everything else however it was a very nice stay at a wonderful hotel in Nottingham city centre, however with the glaring issue of the air conditioner making us very ill I can't in good faith rate it any higher for now.

This room was very expensive and was listed as one of their deluxe rooms, which it very well may have been 5 years ago. The room was tired, not very clean and there was a constant low level on off noise throughout the night. Had this not been part of a Christmas gift from my husband, I would and really should have complained. I mentioned it on our departure, so hopefully some action will have been taken. The breakfast was very good, but expensive at 20.00 per head.

My wife & I were given a gift from friends for an Afternoon Tea iro our 50th wedding anniversary back in January but we were unable to book until this month as I had been in hospital yet again. We chose the Lace Market Hotel on a recommendation from my cousin & were not disappointed. We would like to thank receptionist Maddie for helping us to the restaurant as I have Parkinson’s. A big thank you to Carl for looking after us & ensuring we were comfortable & had everything we needed. Also to chef Cristina who came out to us to check if everything was ok. The hotel restaurant was tastefully decorated in keeping with the age of the property & around us we enjoyed the painted animal trays on the walls especially the one with 3 hands!! Everywhere was clean & cushions a plenty for us over 70s. We will definitely coming back.

This hotel has aspirations to be one of Nottingham's fine hotels. It has a fantastically lovely building, which is a great star, but today let itself down when failing to greet me for breakfast. 2 members of staff blanked me at what appeared to be the dining room, when I went to reception to clarify where breakfast is served, I was sneeringly told to take a seat where she'd just met me. The other member of staff then challenged me as I followed that instruction, raised his voice to me, then told me that he needed to be careful as, based on how I was dressed I looked as if I'd come in off the street from a night out (rather than being checked in as a guest in a superior room). Kind of spoiks the experience. This feedback is my gift to you; you don't have to heed it, but I won't be bringing my corporate business here again.

My family and I booked for afternoon tea at the Lace market hotel, the booking was great very straightforward. When we arrived we were greeted by very helpful staff. Our table was beautifully laid out and our drink order was taken quickly. Our afternoon tea arrived and looked and tasted amazing. ( we have 3 members of the family with special dietary requirements and all were catered for with no additional requests). Our waitress was so attentive and very efficient ( sorry I can’t remember her name, she was a petite young lady with I believe a Polish accent, lovely!). We met the chef Christina, who came to check that we had enjoyed our food. (A nice touch) We had a lovely afternoon and will definitely be returning. My husband was very impressed with the selection IPA beers on offer, so he will definitely be returning for a drink or two. Thank you Lace market hotel for a really lovely experience.!

We have been to the Lace Market Hotel for afternoon tea with friends previously and enjoyed it so much that we took friends there today to celebrate a birthday. It was as previously, excellent and our friends were delighted with the treat. Our host was Ademar who we had met on the previous occasion and he was as welcoming, friendly and helpful as before. I really couldn't speak too highly of him. The traditional afternoon tea was excellent. Lovely table setting with crisp linen and crystal glasses and old style beautiful china crockery. We started with a glass of prosecco. then the food served on a wooden display stand. Lovely sandwiches and quality fillings -especially loved the smoked salmon! 4 delicious homemade cakes each and a warm scone with jam and clotted cream. Selection of teas of course. Today was a great experience for us all and we will be repeating another visit as soon we can fit one into our schedule. We have invited Ademar and his mum to join us next time as a thanks for all his attention -- will let you know the date asap Ademar!! Many thanks to all concerned including all the staff who work so hard in the background of course.

I have regularly used this hotel for business trips, but I will not be doing so going forward. On the last two occasions I stayed here, I have arrived at the hotel, tired and hungry, only to be informed on check in, that the on site restaurant would not be open. Despite having had my booking well in advance of my arrival date, the hotel had not thought to warn me in advance that I would have to go out for the evening if I wanted to eat. I stayed in room 36 - the black out blinds here did nothing to block out the light from the landing windows adjacent to the room. Being on business, I wanted to work at the desk but found this very difficult as there was no desk lamp. During my last visit, breakfast was a disaster - only one of the coffee machines was actually working. I then ordered scrambled eggs only to be told 2 minutes later that the kitchen had no gas. I reluctantly helped myself to a bowl of cornflakes only for a member of staff to then come out and tell me the gas was back on - by this time I didn't have time for a cooked breakfast. I have cancelled all my future bookings at the hotel and have told my place of work to remove the Lace Market Hotel from their recommended list of hotels

We were booked in for afternoon tea. Although we arrived early, the staff made us very welcome. Carl our waiter settled us at our table and quickly made us feel that nothing was to much trouble. The chef Cristina arrived at our table as our tea was delivered and described what was in the selection of sandwiches and the various sweet treats. Everything was baked on the premises, even the jam was there own. My wife and I regularly go out for afternoon tea and this was one of the best we have had. Delicious.

The whole experience of afternoon tea at the Lace Market Hotel was brilliant. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive, the prosecco suitable chilled and the food perfect. The sandwiches were tasty, the homemade scones with homemade jam with cream were a delight and the cakes superb. Even the chef Christina took the time to come and have a chat when we'd finished, lovely touch. The only downside - there was so much I had to take some cakes away with me to eat later!

Carl explained the contents of the AT and it was nicely presented. Sandwiches were delicious. Cakes just the right si ze and scones to die for! A very pleasant afternoon and we will definitely go again.

Spent one night at the Lace Market Hotel in Nottingham. Central location, lovely Georgian building in quiet road. Very friendly staff on reception, in the bar and waiting at breakfast. Steve on reception particularly charming. Beautiful interior boutique style. Very stylish and quality furnishings. Room was enormous - a kingsize bed and view over looking the church. Great power shower and a stand alone bath. Very organised around Covid with space to social distance, hand sanitiser galore and tissues and bins etc. Breakfast was delicious - plenty of it and good quality. I was very happy with my stay and can't recommend highly enough. 6 stars!!

Best coffee/bakery in Nottingham, cool retro vibe, excellent drinks, cakes, pastys & paininis. There is plenty of well-informed thought out seating, great staff & in a super location too. Highly recommended & an easy 5 star place to try.
