La Verde Restaurant in Tandridge

Lovely restaurant, we recommend it. Always a warm welcome (visited 4 times). Had a table of 11 the first time we went for my sisters birthday - they really make birthdays special. We have since celebrated my husband’s birthday in there and taken 2 groups of friends with us - everyone’s been impressed with their food, service and the live music. Owners and staff are always friendly and attentive. Between us we’ve tried a lot on the menu and it’s never disappointed. Husband thought the calves liver was good but would’ve preferred it a little pink. The only disappointing thing is that they shut at 10.

Second visit here last time waited an age to place orderand we were only a party of two this time were a larger party and not much changed after initial sitting down and ordering drinks where left alone for 30 mins before I had to get up and ask a member of staff if we could order, the wine manager spilled wine on the table whilst pouring!a glass of wine, wouldn’t expect that. Food was good (mash potato was lumpy) we had to request more drinks we were not asked, again this shouldn’t happen. The music was very good the artist had a great voice. 12.5% discretionary service charge was a bit much for the service we received. I do like to support local businesses but with so much competition now in Warlingham they really need to step up to the mark to gain my confidence.

Been several times before, but on this visit I wasn’t impressed with the service and felt that one of the things that I had previously liked in having a good wine list had been significantly reduced. On the day of my last visit I was asked that morning if I had been and if I liked it and I said yes it was great and the wine selection was impressive. If I had been asked the same question the morning after this visit I would have said it’s OK. It may have also been my food choice, but there seemed to be little Italian flavour in any of the food and the lamb shank was almost like a pub Sunday roast without any seasoning.

Visited as a party of 12 for a birthday on a Tuesday night. Service amazing, food fantastic and a great atmosphere. Staff were accommodating and went annove and beyond and made a fuss of our daughter who was celebrating her 12th birthday with her family.

Excellent food, excellent drinks, excellent service, excellent price, excellent experience! Highly recommend, will visit again

Nice venue, food was good and it was quite buzzy which was nice. Waiting staff were friendly and polite. The singer was good and we enjoyed the music. Once we finished and paid the bill and some of our group left, others then moved to the bar area to have a final drink....that bill also included a service charge just for a round of drinks which I feel is wrong, apart from that we all enjoyed our evening.

Reception received was extremely friendly and professional this service continued throughout the meal Good area to meet friends and have a drink before being shown your table Food was very good all give of us had different fishes which we thoroughly enjoyed. We visited La Verde last weekend we have been a few times now, the food and drinks were delicious I ordered the salmon pasta this time which was served by lively attentive staff, they also had live music on the Saturday we visited which added to a superb all round enjoyable evening.

It's the second time I've gone with my girl and the experience is very good. I really like it and I recommend it. Everyone is very friendly and attentive, especially the waiters Sunita and Soros

We have been to la verde serval times now but yesterday we went to celebrate my 30th and what an amazing evening we had. The staff are all lovely! Really attentive, chatty and welcoming. Food is lovely, never had a bad meal. Great value. We will all definitely be back! Thank you so much for making my birthday one to remember. I’m sure we will see you very soon!

Have been to this restaurant several times now with family and friends. Have enjoyed the food and ambience each time, and the service has been excellent. Food is well presented and the staff are always very friendly and attentive.

Very friendly smiling welcome, comfortable, excellent decor and atmosphere, attentive service. Smallish parking but on street available around. Very wide choice of typical Italian cuisine at very reasonable prices. Helpful MD advice on wine, although usual restaurant prices - special celebration so our choice was specially discounted for us. Quality of the meals could not be faulted, generous proportions, perfectly cooked and served. A lovely evening altogether

Friendly and efficient service complemented by excellent food. If you want a light lunch and enjoy seafood then try the fisherman soup. Definitely the best Italian in the area.

Second time coming to here food was amazing both times will definitely be returning. Staff are really friendly and attentive, very reasonable price for the quality of the food.

Mozzarella Fritta was divine but could have done with more but could have done with more fig jam and salad. The gluten free pasta was a bit on the hard side for me (as I prefer soft cooked pasta). Still tastey however. the service was good and the atmposhere was pleasent. I look forward to visitng again

Our heartfelt thanks to the La Verde team for a wonderful impromptu Mother’s Day lunch for 7. They dealt with our last minute booking with consummate professionalism, finding a small table for pre lunch drinks then seating us thoughtfully. The waitress who attentively shepherded my mother across the restaurant has our special thanks. Seven spotless plates later, we’d roamed the menu from lamb shank and calves liver, through mum’s huge piece of succulent salmon and to pasta and pizza for the kids. The kitchen deftly managed round “vegetarian carbonara” a request and other leftfield items idiosyncrasies. Next time we will book in advance and make it to pudding!

Great from start to finish. The food was great and well priced. The wine list was also very good and some real gems at a good price. I would go back and compared to the other Italian in Warlingham which is not open at the moment I would go La Verde every time with better food and drink and cheaper. I was concerned it would not live up to the standards previous at Chez Vous but it did.

We had friends staying with us and we had heard that the restaurant was good so I booked for Saturday evening. The first thing we noticed was how crammed the tables were and how noisy it was. The menu seemed promising but all our dishes bar a Cesear salad were very disappointing (though even that came with a shop bought dressing) . I ordered a risotto which was forgotten and arrived when everyone else had finished their meal. My husband and I ordered a flat bread to share and chose a Rosemary one because we didn't want the garlic one only to find that it was laced with garlic! My son had calamari which were frozen ones. My husband asked for a Fiorentina pizza which he normally has in Pizzerias and it was covered with pepperoni sausage which totally ruined it. It was written on the menu but he hadn't noticed as it's not a usual Fiorentina ingredient (being a Vegetarian pizza) . The cannelloni were bland. We didn't bother with dessert or coffee and couldn't wait to get out of there. I should have followed my initial instinct. No Italian connoisseur would call a Restaurant "La" Verde (feminine) when the correct term is "Il" Verde (masculine). There was nothing remotely Italian about the ambiance or the taste of any of the dishes. Do not go there if you are wanting to re-live fond memories of Italian holidays... Overpriced, chaotic atmosphere and very poor food. A waste of a nice location.

This restaurant is fine. Four of us came to La Verde for a dinner. The interior and staff are nice. Although, there were chips in some of the glasses. The menu is fine for a mid-range Italian restaurant. The food itself was average. The mussels were poor quality and very small. The aioli was served split. However, the restaurant is operating out of the same site as its predecessor “Chez Vous”. Despite being an entirely different restaurant, with a different menu, quality of food and style (plus different ownership?), La Verde still displays the awards granted to its predecessor. I’ve attached a photo of one such instance. To me, displaying awards for an older restaurant, no longer there, is misleading.

This is a lovely Italian restaurant that opened Nov 23. We have been several times . The food staff and service is really great. However we visited Sat 24th Feb and were disappointed to find live music being played during the evening. In fairness the singer was very good , our problem was having booked to have dinner with friends we wanted to chat and catch up . This was not possible due to the volume. You could only speak to the person immediately next to you and that was by raising your voice. Even the waiters were struggling to hear what we were saying. We have all come away with hoarse throats. We didn’t feel it was a necessary addition to a very pleasant restaurant and unfortunately we will not be booking again on music nights.

We have been here now 3 times in 4 weeks , it's an amazing restaurant, good atmosphere, the staff are really friendly especially Molly and Naren. Always making sure we have everything we need. Good pricing and the food is high quality. Again service is really good , drinks come very quickly from the bar.

We were back from Wales, visiting my parents and looking for somewhere to celebrate my husband’s birthday and my father suggested La Verde on Warlingham Green, which having lived here 27 years prior, I have known in many incarnations. I have to say, quality though it has been in all it's lives, I have never had such a friendly, warm and wholly positive experience there. The menu leaves you spoiled for choice. The food quality was extremely good and well-presented without being intimidatingly pretentious. The prices are very affordable. My husband and I both had 3 courses plus 2 drinks for just under £100. They do tac on a very reasonable 12% service charge, which if frankly a bargain given how wonderful and attentive the service is and I'm positive you'll feel compelled to pop a bit more on as I did because they were just all so lovely. Naren, the charming owner, also thoroughly embarrassed my husband by singing happy birthday to him, so that was really the icing on the cake for me. Wish them all the success in the world and will be back for a visit again soon.

Went for a family birthday lunch. We had a great time. Very good food and service from Naren and his staff. Will certainly go again.

In Warlingham for a few days visited this restaurant it was simply superb, the food was excellent the staff were attentive polite professional and most of all looked content with their job which is most important. The menu was varied and covered everyone’s taste buds from starters to main course. The manager/owner came to our table and that was a nice touch. A credit to Warlingham and themselves an excellent experience overall. Thank you.

First visit to new Italian in Warlingham and it was great! Easy parking at rear. Welcomed on arrival and got a nice table. Served by Sunita who was great. Lasagne, Polpette and Bruschetta all excellent. Wine was also very good and the bill was very reasonable. We will definitely return.
