La Torre in Trafford

Amazingly beautiful, my mouth was absolutely filled with saliva like a volcano, it was tender and flavourful and perfect. Thanks to them for the free ice cream. It was delicious 😋

Nearly had a lovely evening there until the manager came over and started talking to us, it felt like such an uncomfortable interaction. She asked us a lot of personal questions about our lives, going round the table discussing our age, whether we worked, were married and had children, commenting on our ages, assuming some of us didn't work due to age/disability. She did not seem to know when to stop talking/asking more personal questions. This changed the evening from a relaxing time enjoying food to feeling uncomfortable and upset at some of the comments. It was very intrusive. We have been going to this restaurant for years but have been put off going back due to this strange and uncomfortable experience. The manager needs to understand that some people go out for a meal to spend time with each other and to get away from the stresses in life, and do not want question after question about personal matters or have their age/looks commented on! I could have made a few comments back to her, but I have an understanding of being polite and not insulting people and wanted to remain civilised. Will not be back.

This tapas Restutant is small resturant but really nice and family feel like, very cosy and comfortable, I love the decoration. Food is great, I love the pork cheeks fantastic, the lamb chops are just fantastic in different great level. My girlfriend had the chicken shish and that was really good. My mum had the taps it was very hot and fresh. Meatball was great too hot and fresh. The calamari was fantastic it came with alioli sauce dip taste great. My father had the ribs and sea bas potato , halummi bake, prawns chilli , chicken in cream and they were cooked so deliciously. We also had the paella sharing for two it was the best we ever had chicken and veg paella. I recommend the lamb chops and chicken shish fanststic.i had the lamb chop was cooked very nice and taste great, I also had the lamb chops, mushroom cream, lamb casserole and salt and pepper squid, it was fantastic, cooked really well. This place is amazing food is fantastic. The drinks were good, I love the recommendation of the red wine from one of the staff called Rosr and that wine was fantastic blended well with my food, service from Rosr only was really nice she’s great , she always help us to get best food and she’s always smiley and very kind, she always give us best service, and the fact she always remember us is very nice. However the other staff who worked in the bar she wasn’t very happy and I don’t think she understood any English, and there was another staff slightly blind hair she barely talked to us. They only person who actually spend time to talk with us was Rose which really friendly. Overall I recommend this tapas as the food is fantastic and If you want great service just Go on the days Rose give you service as you laugh and enjoy the entire time.

Visited this restaurant with my family for Mother's Day. We were so impressed with the great food and excellent customer service we received. My grandson is 3 years old and got restless at the table so the waitress gave us an ice cream for him on the house. What a lovely local business. We will definitely be returning.

Good little hidden gem in Urmston. The food was authentic and piping hot and delicious. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Highly recommend

We were really looking forward to the tapas here but we left disappointed. We asked how many dishes to order and were encouraged to get far too many before we decided to cancel some. Wine wasn't nice and food didn't taste authentic. Lots of lamb and very little pork, also not sure how Spanish lamb shish is! I suspect the new management of this place are trying to move away from the old menu. They should just close and reopen as a middle Eastern restaurant really. Overall wouldn't recommend I'm afraid.

A real shame because we’d heard such good things! We visited in late november on a thursday at past 6pm and we were the only people in for a good while, another table did come in towards the end but it was so quiet we felt we had to whisper. Absolutely can’t fault the waitress though, seemed very grateful for the custom and was really chatty and friendly and was the main reason we actually stayed. I’m not sure if it was because it was so quiet that standards dropped, but a lot of the food felt microwaved and was simultaneously both hot and cold in parts (especially the vine leaves) and left us feeling unwell after. The meatballs felt frozen or definitely not fresh and dry, and the patatas bravas was the worst part, just not authentic at all. The patatas bravas just had no flavour and the potatoes were mushy but burnt on top, it felt like they’d been cooked in the tomato water then shoved in an oven, the sauce was just slightly tomato flavoured water which was really disappointing because it’s not even difficult to make. the feta stuffed peppers were so oily, the vine leaves were incredibly mushy as previously said the temperature was so uneven. The feta cheese triangles were actually okay and probably my favourite part, but the salmon croquettes were really a mistake on our part and considering the rest of the food we’d have been better to not even try them. Decided to get the tiramisu at the end and honestly that felt homemade and fresh and the waitress also gave us a free shot which was a saving grace. As i said super disappointing, really wanted to like it! not sure what went wrong.

Another great meal at La Torre, in Urmston. Great service, fitted us in at the last minute. Food was piping hot and consistently delicious. Very reasonably priced too. Manager / owner Rose, is lovely. Will be back asap.

Absolutely use to love this place - when the male waiting staff managed it. Since the new female manager and staff and taken over, the service is the worst I have ever experienced. I have been in 4 times since Boxing Day and it is no better!! I have raised this directly with the manageress and communicated by email and nothing changes! She only becomes defensive! I hope the owner brings in new waiting staff that know what they are doing.

First time visiting here after recommendation from a friend. Friendly and welcoming restaurant and the food was delicious, flavoursome and great value for money. You could tell everything was freshly cooked to order and full of flavour. Our son loved the spicy chicken wings, the mixed meat paella was our favourite, again full of flavour and with plenty of chicken and chorizo. We also had Chocolate Fudge Cake and Tiramisu for pudding which were both delicious. Definitely recommend and we will be back.

Have been to La Torre a number of times and the food is amazing. However it has recently had a change in front of house staff and the service is very poor. As a table of 9 we found it difficult to attract the attention of the staff who walk around paying no attention to the customers and take an age to bring the orders when requested.I have spoken to the manager about this the last 2 times we have been in and unfortunately may have to find a new favourite from the many other restaurants in Urmston.

Has been my favourite place for many years but unfortunately front of house staff are not aware what is going on tables waiting with empty glasses to try getting drinks, and very slow food service, i am gutted because the food is fantastic but won't be going anytime soon ☹

Dinner with 10 friends. Very good quality tapas .Portions were quite large, well presented and hot. Bread starters, 24 tapas, wine and other drinks, a few sweets and coffee. £250 total bill. Service very friendly.

We have been going to La Torre since it opened many years ago, and when it changed hands we visited last year. We were very surprised to find two young Greek men in charge, and amazed to experience wonderful tapas, so much so that I visited again with my girlfriends, enjoying even tastier food and a great atmosphere. However, our visit last night was very disappointing both in terms of bland food and poor atmosphere. No sign of the charismatic Greek men and it was staffed by ladies who were efficient but not warm (and the restaurant was pretty chilly!). Toilet area and corridor was simply awful, needs a deep clean and decorating. As for the menu, it seems that corners have been cut, the chefs don’t understand Spanish food and the lack of herbs, garlic and quality ingredients mean that we won’t return. A real loss for our town.

I am blog writer, I came here with my friends to enjoy evening, unfortunately I must say I and my friend were not pleased at all with food. I ordered potatoes braves and they all came burn, under food hygiene regulations that is unacceptable, I order the samlon croquette it was also burned I couldn’t even taste the salmon all I could taste was burn, the food was not good at all it did not worth the money that we spend, the prawns in cream did not look like they had any cream in it. And the prawns in chilli was all watery and too much lemon only one slice of chilli was in it. The salad on the side of the calamari was not fresh at all to me it look like they use same salad over and over, the calamari we had was very cold look like they were not cooked properly it was still frozen. My friend ordered halumi bake and the juice of the Halumi bake was too watery and it looked very disgusting the hummus and pitta bread was not good as it used to be , the hummus had too much garlic and the pitta bread was burned.the chorizo Frito Al Vino was not good at all it did not taste fresh, it was very watery it did not taste good at all. I was sick after eating the food. Beside the food to be positive the staff was very lovely, I loved the hospitality of the staff they were very friendly, they always came check on us make sure everything was ok, when I made complaint about food she change food right away and she treated us with free shots to apologise, there was two other boys were working there but they were just standing and leaving the entire work on two ladies who were working and also so lovely. Overall if you want to go to Latorre I don’t recommend it food are not nice at all.

Am a regular here. Been going to this restaurant for many years. Food and service is always good.

I have been here before and loved it so decided to go with my boyfriend. We were asked to come back in 25mins as we hadn't booked a table, so we went for a drink then went back and got a table. We were half way through eating our food and the waitress asked if we'd move as someone had come in that had booked a table! There was a couple that hadn't got there food that they could have moved. Having worked in hospitality myself you should NEVER move someone whilst eating. Not only did they move us but they tried to take our plates that we were half way through eating!! Very disappointed as we were really enjoying the food and then it was ruined. We were "gifted" free drinks but it doesn't make up for what they did. Terrible service. I dont usually right reviews but this shocked me!

I ate at La Torre with a friend last week and we both really enjoyed our dishes. I had the squid, pork belly and garlic prawns and they were all very tasty. It was a Monday night so the restaurant was incredibly quiet, the service was perfect - the right level of attention so we had everything we needed whilst leaving us free to get on with catching up. I definitely want to eat here again.

Went here tonight for me and my partners date night , excellent food and service , will definitely be going back again , waiter who served us was exceptional and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived,

We had had some fantastic news and wanted to celebrate. I ordered a takeaway as everything sounded lovely and there were plenty of choices for vegetarians. To say we were amazed when the food arrived is putting it mildly! Stunning. Exceptionally tasty and fantastic portion sizes. The dishes we had included vegetable paella, tomato garlic bread, mushrooms in white wine, a aubergine dish, fig & goats cheese parcels, patatas bravas & a tomato salad. Everything was wonderful and exceeded our expectations by a Mile. We are making plans to visit this restaurant to eat in very soon. My husband said this was probably the best takeaway we have ever had- and trust me we have had a lot! I have no hesitation in recommending this fabulous restaurant, just don’t eat all the food when you go! We are coming.

Used to be a great little restaurant. Our latest visit was disappointing. The dishes were tasteless and the vegetables seemed to have been in the microwaved. There was little seasoning. The tortilla was rubbery, possibly also microwaved. The orange juice was low quality. We won't be back.

What an excellent food and top class service. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Very friendly and efficient service. We will visit again for sure to try different dishes.

I tried this restaurant today and loved the experience. The best part is that you can get great food with a very cheap price. Their paella has great quality and is cheaper than any other tapas restaurant in UK. If you want great food with cheap price try this place.

A fantastic night out. We ordered a range of Tapas dishes and all of them were amazing! Garlic prawns in oil were to die for! Fresh, carefully prepared and all wonderful. Great tapas vibe. Waiter was friendly and willing to advise on great choices and great wine. The restaurant decor adds to the vibe; we loved it and will definitely return. Great value for money too. Thank you!

Great meal food was a1 cannot believe I never been here before

Mediocre food terrible service.The paella was cooked using long grain rice not actually proper paella rice! The taste was bland And I must say was small in portion control. The drinks were flat the cutelry was dirty but the service was terrible.I was invited as a birthday guest and felt sorry for the host at the end of the meal some plates were full of food so the menu obviously didn't please some of the other guests, I have tasted uncle Ben's packet rice with better flavours and why have the smallest prawns for the price you charge.Beware of this so called Tapas restaurant!!

Have been going to the restaurant for many years andfodd was always delicious.Think it has been taken over as the food was no where near as good and the service was shocking. The meatballs were tasteless the sauces were thin, mushrooms were like bullets in what was supposed th be olive oil and white wine and garlic, just tasted like vinegar. As for the service, we'll we sat there for what seemed ages waiting to be asked what to drink (we had booked by the way). A waitress walked in and started messing about on the till instead of serving, until another waitress told her to take the drinks order. She eventually took our food order. The food (after a long wait) came in dribs and drabs. We had eaten two of the dishes before the next one arrived! Then one dish arrived on its own, then the other five dishes slowly followed. We asked the waitress for brandy and she walked off looked at the brandy and didn't bother coming back. Had enough by this time so just asked for the bill. The place was not exactly busy either. It was my mums 85th birthday celebration and was ruined Never again.

La Torre is a great example of the perfect blend of Spanish flavour and tradition, it offers a great variety of options in its well curated menu, with a good selection of tapas and paellas, La torre will not fail to impress and leave a smile on your face. A great local spot for anyone in Manchester and very affordable considering the quality of the food and the excellent table service. (Take cash for tips as they don’t do it on card). Highly recommend this little hidden gem, will be back soon.

Food is to die for with helpful and friendly staff

Visited here for the first time with a few friends we had lots of different dishes. The sea bass and Goats cheese fig parcels were some of my favourites,. The ribs are very good too the meat fell off the bone. Great portion sizes and reasonable prices for tapas. Service was excellent and the place has a nice vibe. I'd say it's more Mediterranean than just Spanish due to some unusual dishes. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, we have been used to San Juan in Chorlton so it was a hard one to beat. I would definitely go back and try more dishes.

Never had a bad dish from here. Highly recommended tapas restaurant at great prices.

Last visit was on a Monday (20 Mar). Always great food. Spoilt for choice! Sea bass was a favourite. Would also recommend the chicken stroganoff. Will be back soon

Had a great experience here. The restaurant has a cosy, family-run vibe (not sure if it is). The food was good and the servers were friendly and not at all intrusive. I would recommend about 4 or 5 tapas dishes for the average person. Focus on the savoury dishes as the desserts werent quite up to the same standard.

Attentive staff, fast service and fair prices. The only disappointing thing is that I wasn't allowed to leave a tip on my card. I barely ever carry cash so sadly I couldn't leave a gratuity.

Still the best Tapas place in Urmston, despite another trendier looking venue opening up the road, the food here is tastier, recommend the Pisto Manchengo. A solid reasonably priced restaurant with a calm atmosphere.

Reasonably priced Tapas restaurant. It's a small venue but the food was great. Went here twice and the recommedations were spot on. Staff were busy but you were not ignored. This place will always be on must come back too list.

A large group of us attended La Torre for a birthday. Many of the group had been before and had lovely experiences so we were looking forward to that again. Unfortunately, from pretty much the moment we sat down our waiter was progressively more and more rude towards us. As we started to receive our food, two dishes came out that we didn't order. We had ordered all of our food by the number to make things easier and knew exactly what we had ordered and what was left to come out. The waiter abrasively said it was us that had made the mistake and was not listening to us when we assured him we hadn't ordered those items. He also tried to bring these items back again and say we had ordered them when we, again, assured him we hadn't. Each service of food was delivered quite rudely and abrasively. Then towards the end, we were still waiting for a couple of dishes. We told the waiter this and he refused to accept that they hadn't come out. The waiter first pointed to an empty dish and said "that was the chicken". It was not, it was the remains of a mushroom dish. He then went on to lift some stacked dish implying that we had attempted to hide the missing dish. This was unacceptable attitude and service. Eventually, we received all of the items. The food was largely fresh and tasty, with the exception of some burnt garlic bread and burnt patatas bravas. We did not raise this with the waiter because we quite frankly did not want to deal with the rudeness if we did. We finished eating and was waiting for around 25/30 minutes before we had to ask for the dessert order to be taken. Even at this point only a few of the plates had been cleared. The dessert ordering process was again very rude. When the desserts came, there were still a lot of plates on the table from the mains. Then there was more rudeness from the waiter. He very heavily put the plates down and as two of our party were swapping dishes due to being given the wrong ones, he was very snappy saying we hadn't specified how we wanted the fudge cake (even though we very clearly did to avoid any issues). At the end, we had to wait around 45 minutes to receive the bill after asking twice. Overall, very disappointing and frustrating service which put a dampener on the meal.

Beautiful food and service, best tapas in Urmston and definitely worth a visit. I would recommend booking ahead as its gets busy and so book in advance. Great menu with a good selection of tapas dishes on offer.

Love this place and have been here many times in the past 20 years. It's changed hands a few times and is now back to former glory with the plus of having draught beer alongside the already decent food.

My partner and I were in the area and searched for a taps bar. Called in on the off chance of getting a table and did. Great service with a chilled atmosphere. The menu is great and the food is beautiful. It’s reasonably priced so will be visiting again for sure.

Not really a "Spanish Tapas bar" you will find Hummus and pitta bread, salt and pepper squid, feta cheese and Greek salad. The Sangria was warm and far too sweet. It is a little underwhelming.

Visited today at teatime 12 of us well 13 including bump on board - we don't get out together much, Mums - Daughters , Grandchild and 2 in the way Even in this heat , all food lovely they even cooked a dish less the chillis , plenty of choice to choose from too, service was great, looking forward to another visit very soon. In a smaller group.

Gambas pil pil to die for together with the rest of the food delicious love it

Been coming here years and always very nice, but last 2 visits, been just awful, food different, service not good, I can only think changed hands, not for the better. Last night it was just not nice, Ribs, tough as old boots, pastas brava s must use a different coating, that’s just 2 of our meal, rest was not much better. Very disappointed and upset that our favourite restaurant is now of our list.

Honestly hands down some of the best food I’ve eaten. Food is fresh, well cooked and very authentic. Service is always above and beyond and the staff are just so friendly and simply amazing. Absolutely love coming here to eat out or for take out, which is just as equally as amazing and doesn’t loose the quality goodness. Plus the portions sizes are immense. There’s always leftovers!!!

Visited again as it is a favorite of ours. Warm welcome as usual and made sure we had enough space for a pram next to the table. Flavour of the food is fantastic and the sangria is the best I've had anywhere. Will be back.

Called in without an appointment on Saturday night and so glad we did- absolutely beautiful food and lovely spanish feel with lovely staff- will definately be a regular visitor from now on

We went on a Saturday evening with 4 of us. We got serviced really quickly, both drinks and food. The food was amazing!! Best tapas I have had. Sometimes red sauces can taste all the same, but not here. It was all very delicious and we will definitely go again. Lovely staff. The only negative thing I could comment on was that it was very loud once all tables were filled. Definitily can recommend though, lovely food and staff!!

Me and my partner go here often and love it every time. Food is always spot on. The Walnut Chicken is one of my favourites, and we love the Lamb dish. Really relaxed atmosphere and an authentic cosy type of restaurant.

Passed here many times but first visit. Good selection of dishes which we all enjoyed. Portion size ideal although we ordered several tapas dishes too many. Service was excellent. Very comfortable atmosphere and would definitely go again.

Been here a few times to eat in and also for take out never had an issue in the past but we ordered food on Friday for take out to be picked up at 7pm arrived at 7pm waited a few minutes while they bagged the food and only drove 3 minutes down the road. Unboxed everything and we were very disappointed the prawns were very over cooked and split they didn’t look like prawns, the meatballs were stone cold as was the chicken, mushrooms again stone cold and the rice looked like uncle bens packet rice that you do in the microwave. The only thing that was hot was the potatoes however, they’d also forgot to give us our hummus and pitta bread all in all we were extremely disappointed as we’ve never had an issue ever with this place but Friday the food was just not edible. We will try again but honestly when you look forward to some food that is normally good quality and get served what we did it’s hard not to be disheartened

Adds up if you don't watch it. Families with hungry teenagers would be advised to get bread and carbs ordered as the meat dishes care small. Can't fault the flavours, the atmosphere ( for families and groups) or the service.

I know food reviews are hugely subjective, but have been to La Torre several times and its always been excellent food and excellent service at a reasonable price, keep up the good work!
