Veranda in Trafford

*Avoid if you’re going for a nice relaxing meal. Birthday experience ruined by an extremely rude and hostile server. * I booked this restaurant for my husbands birthday after seeing all the positive reviews below and was excited to take him somewhere that seemed to not only have nice food, but a lovely atmosphere and service. However we drew the short straw and got a server who is either extremely undertrained or was having the worst day of her life - she was a female with short hair and since we walked in she was extremely hostile and rude, she has ruined the entire experience. Sadly the tables to our right had the male server who I assume people are talking about below, he sounded very kind and was offering everyone on the other tables complementary drinks at the end of their meals- saying that this is offered as standard in return for a positive review etc - so if you go, either make sure you get him or seriously turn around and go home. We were, of course, not offered anything complementary by our server, but I didn’t go there for that so that’s ok. What’s shocking is that we were being very nice to our server and were saying about a million thank yous per sentence just because we wanted to cheer her up and have a nice positive atmosphere. She spoke to us in a very condescending rude manner, never cracked a single smile or said anything polite or positive such as “please”, she was very short with us in her language and a few times rudely pointing at things e.g when she brought the card machine, she didn’t say a single word and just threw it on the table and waved her finger around it. I giggled out of nervousness because- what the hell? A single incident is easily forgiven and honestly if you’re having a bad day, I feel bad for you, but to have an attitude like that throughout is unacceptable and is bound to rub off on your guests. The audacity of this woman! The food was ok - definitely not worth the horrible treatment but they have some nice dishes. The plain rice and fatteh are cooked in a lot of Ghee and the taste of the ghee is overpowering in those dishes and ruins the overall flavour. The Kabsah dish is nice though, very well balanced and flavourful. The portion sizes are good for the price. I recommend the aubergine dip “baba ghanouj” and the kabsah. Overall, we definitely will not be back and I do not recommend this place to anyone who wants to have a nice relaxing meal out, unless you can somehow guarantee the friendly male server. We may have enjoyed the food a lot more if it weren’t for the server, unfortunately.

I love this place very much. Its beautiful and quite place .the food taste was wonderful. The staff is very respectful and always smiling.

Meal for four on a Monday evening. Fantastic food, catered for gluten free without issue. Excellent service and very well priced. Accepted taste card. Looking forward to going back.

First visit to this restaurant, most certainly won't be the last. Absolutely fantastic food, very friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Chances are you will need to book a table especially at weekends but well worth a visit.

Slightly marred in the fact that we had booked a table, and put on a table by the toilets and kitchen, which was cold and very draughty and told by the maitre de that clients actually requested that table!! We were eventually moved. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Food as usual was excellent.

First visit a couple of months ago was excellent in every way. However, unfortunately on our second visit it wasn’t quite the same and the food wasn’t fresh… but when it’s good it’s good! Avoid the hummus though, it’s like water!!

Went for a meal with friends from work in Sept this year . Excellent service . Very courteous staff and patient. The food - hummus and main meals all very tasty and werl cooked and reasonable. Staff have a great sense of humour too and the chef /manager visited our table at the end of his time in the kitchen to see how we enjoyed the evening and he was very courteous and pleasant. 5 star ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ for everything

One of my favourite restaurants, Exquisite food, stunning décor and amazing atmosphere not to mention good portions and well priced. There manager Mina is so friendly and welcoming and makes you feel very special. He goes above and beyond his managerial role. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Kelly & Mazhar

First time at veranda , the restaurant it self looked lovely and the service was fantastic. The food was out of this world, absolutely gorgeous. Not been to a restaurant in a very long time where the food is outstanding. I definitely will be going back and totally recommend everyone trying this place out if you haven’t already 👍

Another fabulous meal at Veranda! This time we took vegan friends and all enjoyed a selection of hot and cold mezze with a bottle of Veranda's excellent house red. Really good food, really good value.

Had a last minute plan for Veranda and I have to say, they had excellent food filled with flavour and fantastic service! Definitely one to repeat!

Absolutely disgusting food was awful cold hairs in also dirty toilets smelly and unwashed toilets rude staff when I ask for replacement got abuse ask for owner only to be abuse further I have never experienced anything like it ruined my friends birthday never will I or my friends enter the restaurant again awfully experience

Dined in four months ago and the food was great. We ordered takeaway on deliveroo and the food was just completely different: bland, salty, oily and full of cheap vegetable butter. If this the new standard, avoid at all cost.

Last Saturday 16 September 2023, my wife and I celebrated our 51st Wedding Anniversary at Veranda. We were warmly welcomed by Zana, the host, who spent time ensuring we settled in well and shared his enthusiasm for his menu. We were equally well served by Karim and enjoyed a fantastic range of Mediterranean cuisine and wine with flavours and taste that were absolutely outstanding. The food was incredible! From starters to mains and also desserts….the food was well prepared and the meats was so soft and succulent! With amazing service and the best glass of rose I’ve tasted in a long while. And to top all of that very reasonably priced. Well worth the visit!

Superb food and excellent, friendly service. The restaurant is Southern Mediterranean with a distinctly Arabic twist. From what I know the staff are Egyptian and Syrian and are very friendly and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere with Egyptian music playing (I think!) Highly recommended....easily worth 5 stars.

Incredible food, spectacular service. There truly is not one bad thing to say about this spot. The food was excellent, and the server (I think his name was Mina) went out of his way to go above and beyond including providing a list of gluten free options. If I lived in the area I’d definitely be a regular. It’s rare to find a spot with such good food run by such kind people. Definitely worth visiting!

Stumbled upon this little gem when looking for somewhere new to try. The restaurant looks beautiful with everything set up neatly. The staff was polite and attentive. The food came quickly and was fresh, hot, and delicious. The fish were cooked perfectly. The pictures doesnt do it justice. Definitely a 5 out of 5 for me. I look forward to coming back again 😋😋

The food is really really good, but the service is outstanding. We went a few times months ago, and when we returned recently we were treated like old friends.

My husband and I dine here every six weeks or so, and a few days ago on our last trip we were offered complementary drinks, but once we had checked the bill, we noticed that the drinks had been totaled on our bill despite them being complementary. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Great food very welcoming nothing too much trouble highly recommend. Quiet dinning unless family and friends gathering noise to expected. However it says a lot when folks choose to having large gathering to celebrate 🍾. Definitely becoming a favourite dinning spot.

You can tell the team prepares the food with love. These days is rare to find a restaurant that focuses on putting the effort on food and customer service instead of how the place looks (this restaurant is pristine clean and looks great), and these guys have mastered all three. Special mention to the waiter who served us. Beyond attentive and genuine. I hope this place and men get the recognition it deserves. No doubt I go back.

Fabulous experience & tasty food! My Dad is a chef and very rarely gives praise when we go out to restaurants so the fact that he wants to go back just shows how much he enjoyed his meal. Meal portions are more than substantial and we all took home a doggy bag apart from my teenager who eats like a horse. Our waiter was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be returning very soon. Good job Veranda!! Please don't drop the good standard xx

We received a warm and attentive welcome from the waiter. The cold Meza hummus was smoother and creamier than anything I've tasted before. It came with grilled Mediterranean flatbread (not plain pitta bread). We had the lamb dishes Fasoulieh and Tabakhrawhou, both of which were very tasty. The rice portion was generous as was the Greek Salad. We were so impressed we came back on two subsequent days whilst we were staying in Manchester: we had the Mixed Kebab (the lamb was so tender), Salmon Steak, Sea Bass. Excellent food and great value for money.

To begin, the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked beautifully and the flavours were wonderful. The portion sizes were generous and we even had leftovers to take home. There is a large variety of food on the menu, something for everyone - meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans The service was first class, we went on a Tuesday night and it was busy and yet with only one waiter it felt like we were served really well, never kept waiting and always had service with a smile We received a complementary starter, birthday dessert - incredibly generous and kind We loved Veranda and would really recommend to anyone and will be back in the future

Ate here last night. Service was really good, food and drinks came out quickly. We were asked if we wanted to wait for the main course which was good as we weren’t in a rush. It was some of the best food of this cuisine I’ve had recently and great that sale has a restaurant like this instead of another burger/pizza place.

We had take away tonight and it was amazing!! The food was exceptional, the portions very big and decent price. We had Chicken with rice, lamp with okra (Bamieh) and some starters (lentil soup and mince lamp pastries). I would highly recommend it!

Stayed in Manchester cos of an early flight, visited the restaurant for dinner with the wife for the first time. The soup , starters and the main course, were amazing, the chef is very polite and friendly, the service is so professional. Will go back again for sure.😊

Staff very attentive and the food is fantastic

So nice to see this new Mediterranean restaurant opening in Sale. We were warmly welcomed by the waiter, who was attentive to our needs and informative on the menu. The food was delicious, the lamb was so tender and tasty, the rice so light. We are looking forward to our next visit and hope residents of Sale and further afield, start to support local restaurants again as I see too many are announcing they are closing in FB posts.

A great dining experience. The food was exceptional, the waiter friendly and helpful and it was warm, clean and nicely decorated. And it was very reasonably priced. We were all well fed and happy at the end of our meal.

We had our first meal here on Saturday and wasn't disappointed. The food, the service, the decor was all fabulous. Hubby was pleased they had draft beer. We ordered starters and mains. The portions were generous and well presented. We finished with coffee and baileys coffee with a complimentary biscuit. Then we were offered a shot (baileys, amaretto or lemoncello) on the house which was a lovely touch. There seemed to be only one waiter, but he managed very well. We really enjoyed the food, so we'll definitely be going back.

I went with friends to Veranda for a meal last night. The food was fabulous! Very authentic, the mixed kebab and Greek salad was delicious. We will certainly be back! A big thank you to Mina, great service!

Ate here on Friday evening. Amazing service, attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was so tasty, beautifully presented and good portion sizes. Good vegetarian selection too.

Unexpected little find via Google. Thought we'd give it a go following reviews. Nicely decorated Mediterranean restaurant. Warm welcome from the only waiter who was on that evening. Although we booked, we could pick our table. As the evening progressed it did get busier with walk ins and booked tables. I wasn't sure of which draft beer, but the waiter was kind enough to bring a sample of both, so I could make a decision. We placed our orders for starters and main with a side. Complimentary hummus and breads, nice touch. Prawns and wings were decent size. Main courses both lamb (meat tender) with rice and side of Greek salad. We were both very full. The waiter before clearing even asked if we wanted to take any leftovers with us. Lastly we could only indulge in one desert, milk pudding in rose water which we have never had before. It is quite fragrant and I think we did right by sharing as quite indulgent. Oh and there is an offer of a shot, I had a Baileys. All in all, was an enjoyable experience and looked after by one and only waiter, great service.

It was quite nice food, we got messy and got different starter, then after apologise we did not receive pita bread with it.. but mistake can happen. Staff have been really nice and friendly. But not entirely sure if I would need to visit again.

I enjoyed the meal with my friend , it was wonderful..All dishes without exception were delicious..salads, main dishes, then dessert..everything was perfect, as if I were in one of the ancient restaurants in Damascus.. In all its details... the Shef is a professional person.. the food is fresh, and he seems keen on that, there was a clear harmony between the staff as if they were one family, really one of the wonderful restaurants that I always want to try 💓👌🏻!

Really impressed by every aspect of our dining experience. The food totally spoke for itself and so reasonably priced. All six of us were blown away by the quality and attention to detail. We will be back. The servers were so lovely too.

My partner and I ate at Veranda last night. The food was delicious, the waiting staff were very attentive and wine was first glass. We will certainly be going back there soon.
