We went for lunch with friends,to La Pineta Little Castle street Truro. The food was delicious it was extremely good value everything was homemade, using genuine Italian ingredients. We had pasta, focaccia, cannoli and a wonderful selection on tasty cheeses... so many lovely flavours that we bought more to take home! The decor was fabulous throughout as you would find in an Italian restaurant. Thank you so much for such a delicious lunch - we will be back soon!

Came last Saturday for dinner - service was good and the food was delicious, especially the Cannolis for dessert! We couldn’t decide between them so ordered a few and shared! Highly recommend and will be sure to return in the future!!

Well who would have guessed that on top of being a lovely Italian restaurant with the best sweet treats, that they would also serve the best Sunday roast I have ever eaten in Truro. Not only was the meal lovely, I could have drank the gravy by its self! The staff are friendly and and the decor is pretty. Thank you so much for an amazing lunch

Great meal, tasty, authentic Italian food ! We had a selection of meals, pizzas, pastas and arancini - all were tasty as were the fruit juices ! We also brought some of the cannellonis home which were also amazing ! Look forward to coming back when next in Cornwall !

An excellent Sunday lunch, the best we’ve had in ages! Great atmosphere with a wonderful chef and service. The beef was perfect and the pork belly sublime, both lunches had great veg and roast potatoes and the Yorkshires were definitely good enough for this Yorkshireman! I advise trying the Venetian spritz, but be careful it’s very moreish. Good value (and the deli is wonderful!) We had a very Italian breakfast earlier this week which did not disappoint. We shall try the evening fare next week, the menu looks amazing

What a little gem in Truro! We had a family birthday celebration here one evening last week & it was very enjoyable. Food was lovely, even had gluten free options for 2 of our party. All the family more than happy which takes some doing! The staff are very attentive & friendly. We will definitely return.

We have been there a few times now and to have that Italian experience in Truro , is special . The staff were present and informative - with a good choice of Italian cuisine.

We wanted a quick meal before visiting the theatre. Asked if we could have the lunchtime Antipasto. Nothing was any problem was asked if we would like any specific meats/cheeses etc and we said we were happy with chefs recommendations. A wonderful plate came out with also an extra side plate of the most amazing pecorino cheese. One bottle of delightful red wine later and two happy customers. The chef came up to see if we were happy with his selection and also bought us up a small plate of the rarest beef to try as we had been discussing his Sunday roasts which are meant to be amazing. We will be back for another meal and also a Sunday roast. The only negative just wish this small family Italian cafe was nearer to us in Falmouth 💙

A great place to have dinner. Beautiful food, nice atmosphere. I am a vegetarian and the chef came to let me know what I could eat, and made sure that we were happy with our food. I have tried some of the food from the deli in the day time and it is great. The tiramisu was fabulous.

Out to celebrate my brother's birthday and we were so lucky to get a table in this lovely, cosy, family-run restaurant. I couldn't decide on a main and instrad ordered all 4 starters; the garlic bread, the bruschetta, the olive pate, and the arancini. My wife had a pizza, my brother and his girlfriend had the porcini fettucini and the arancini main. The service was friendly and quick and they took the time to make sure my order hadn't been misunderstood. The food was lush. The garlic bread was spread with passata or pomodoro and was equisite: chewy, tasty and light. The olive tapenade was divine. A lovely bite to it that gave way to the creaminess of the olive. The bruschetta was loaded with juicy tomatoes, onion, garlic and fennel and the arancini were perfect: they seem bite-size but they were rich and warm and thoroughly delicious. The others described their dishes similarly, and I was lucky enough to taste the fettucini which had an intense porcini flavour, really lovely and meaty on the palate. The sicilian house white, to wash it all down, was very well matched. Just great, thank you La Pineta

Outstanding! Delightful coffee, rich. Earthy, perfectly made by someone who understands coffee. Aranchini is divine. Nice staff, welcoming and clean cafe. As Arnie says… “I’ll be back”!

Absolutely excellent. For me its the best and most authentic Italian place in Truro. The atmosphere and proprietors are really friendly without being in your face. The coffee and chocolate are both delicious. The food is 'to die for'. They're starting evenings in May .. I'll definitely be there!

Completely agree with the previous reviewer - this little cafe and deli is awesome. Feels, looks and smells genuinely 'Italian' when you walk in. The welcome was warm and the coffee was absolutely excellent. Our recommendation though, would be the hot chocolate - quite frankly the best we've ever had (and we've had a lot of chocolate!) All the food looks delicious but so far we've had canoli and aragostine as sweet treats with our coffee. Both delicious. And then there's the aranchini.... We had the veggie option and it was so good we're still talking about it two weeks later. We only found this place two weeks ago, after moving to Cornwall, but we've already visited twice. In a city with so many other excellent coffee shops that's quite a recommendation from us. We can see that they do evenings too - that's something for the future for us. La Pineta deserves to come at the top of any list of places to get Italian food and drink in Truro. You won't regret a visit!

I recently visited La Pineta with a friend. From the moment I walked through the door I felt like I was in Italy (I mean I’ve never been but it’s on my wish list!) from the authentic food to the beautiful decor - I didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend a visit - believe me, you will NOT regret it!!! The owners Valentina and Tom are so passionate about giving the most authentic atmosphere and they really have created a space that feels so so wonderful. 5 stars for me and I will most definitely be a regular visitor to the delightful deli! The food is just fantastic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
