Revisited the restaurant to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. We were welcomed by the owner John who made us feel very welcome and sorted us a table immediately. Didn’t have to wait long for our drinks followed by our starters. We chose the set menu which was very well presented, hot and tasted great. During the course of the evening the interaction with the owner John was very good and he is very funny. Introduced to the rest of the family who also worked there, his wife Catherine and son Wesley. Reasonably priced food with drinks added, really good value for money. Definitely worth a visit!!!!

Had the most delicious meal here. We chose from the set menu. The food was hot, fresh and very tasty. We couldn’t finish it all so John put the rest of it in little takeaway containers for us. He even added some extra rice and prawn crackers. Great service, great food. Will definitely be back!

Had a great evening in L.A Orient to celebrate my daughter’s 18th. Food was very good and the service excellent. This is a family business which really looks after its customers. If it was in a more affluent location, it would be a gold mine. Highly recommended.

John and his team gave our table of 4 delightful service very helpful when choosing from the menu. All the courses were delicious. Definitely will go again.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in the area. The decor is very trendy and esthetically pleasing. John the Manager is very attentive to his customers needs. Due to this his service is excellent. The food is superb, what more one could ask! It is always a vey enjoyable evening 😊

Now been here twice, once with friends and most recently as a couple. Delicious food, very reasonably priced. They have a fairly small but very creative menu, be prepared for some very pleasant surprises! The service is very friendly and attentive, everything is cooked on the spot and they are happy to vary it to personal taste. We will definitely be coming back for more.

Pre-Covid this was my go to Chinese Restaurant in Fareham. It closed during Covid and has recently reopened after undergoing a major renovation. The restaurant is bright and modern and John the owner is exceptionally welcoming. We were seated and immediately asked for our drinks order whilst simultaneously being served crisp, fresh Prawn Crackers. There were 7 in our party so we chose a set menu with some bespoke changes. The food when served was hot, fresh and delicious. The quality of service from John and his son? remained attentive and at the highest level. Towards the end of the meal we were asked if we had had enough food as they were more than willing to bring more. The restaurant was busy with no empty tables, yet we did not feel rushed or pressured to finish our evening early. In summary La Orient is back! Brighter, more modern, but with the same top quality food and service. Only one downside is that the “All you can eat” option is no longer on the menu, but otherwise 10/10

Wow, what a difference, we came back after a long time away from la orient as the food was getting worse every visit service was alway good. We returned and thought we'd give it a go and the new decor has come with new standards of food, very nice indeed

A brilliant meal with a great atmosphere. The menu might be limited but the food is delicious. I would recommend this family run restaurant to anyone looking for tasty food.

Wow We went back to back (over two weeks) to this restaurant after 10 years, and while we remember little from ten years ago, our last two trips were extremely memorable. John ticks all the boxes and more. The hospitality, ambience, and food are spectacular. They appear light-hearted and cheerful, not dissimilar to swans, but all their furious underwater paddling and synchronised hard work translates into a delightful evening. I wouldn't change a thing. Well done, team La Orient!!

Best Chinese ever, the starter was amazing and the main course even better and this was the first time I’ve had a desert in a Chinese I couldn’t believe the pot of tea the whole evening was fantastic.

From the moment we walked in everything about the place was impeccable. Fantastic personalised service, every item of food was just perfect, right down to the drinks and dessert. Even the kitchen staff came out to check how the food was, extremely friendly service, couldn't find fault in a single thing.

Good food but around 100% dearer than other Chinese town? Even with the 25% discount three takeaway meals came to £42? £6 for a tiny bag of chips? Not competitive at all.

Food was cold and tasteless, was told by the driver that tonight was the last night due to refurb so seems like they didn’t care as normally it’s amazing. Lost my money from now on, joke

Food was bland and not hot, poor portion sizes and not enough choice ... I.e only king prawn curry no prawn and no spring rolls.

Not very good , soggy chips , no chicken chow mein Chicken rice instead , curry very greasy very disappointed

Extremely disappointed and will NEVER order from here again. Food arrived stone cold, had to eat in microwave. Very expensive and not alot of food there. Absolutely disgusting. Nearly £50 on cold food that tastes of nothing and half empty containers.

Wrong food delivered again. About 50% of the time the order is incorrect and there never seems to be any responsibility taken by Just Eat nor can you contact anyone to complain. Will be moving to Uber from now on!!

Excellent and tasty food, but delivery was delayed for far too long.

Not great. Most of the food seemed like it had been reheated, the duck was particularly bad.

We'd preordered food to arrive at 6 as this was the earliest delivery time offered on Just eat. The restaurant called to ask if we'd like it earlier, which we did so it arrived about 5.30 which we were very happy with. Food wasn't amazing but it was tasty. Overall we were happy.

Paid for curry sauce that was not in the delivery but the worst prawn crackers ive ever had were a gift for being late! Thanks a lot!!!! Mightve been ok with curry sauce

The food (main dishes) was nice but not hot enough, barely warm in fact. The prawn crackers were not very good at all - they tasted stale like they were a day or two old, not freshly cooked.

Ribs were tough and the curry sauce was inedible with huge lumps of very salty goo , everything else was OK , not the best food I have had from LJ's.

Food was early however one item was missing. This took over 40 minutes to replace by which time everything was cold.

This food I received was the worst food I’ve ever had it was not tasty it wasn’t edible and not very nice I’ve thrown it in my bin I am quite happy to show you the photographs I’ve spoken to the proprietor and they have apologised and said they would refund me the money but that’s not what it’s all about it’s all about the fact that one can order a meal and expect quality this was absolutely appalling

Despite arriving late the food was awful. Satay chicken was disgusting, curry was bitter, chow mein tasted like chemicals. We will never order again!

Food was late and had to call to chase it. When it arrived it was cold and soggy!

Very disappointing meal. We had squid which was chewy and yet the batter was undercooked. Crispy beef which was ashy like it was very over cooked. The chicken in cashew was ok but tasted quite fishy and egg fried rice was just yellow rice and no sign of egg. Chicken curry was quite good and delivery wasn’t too bad - about an hour as promised on just eat. Overall not great.

Lovely food as always but I ordered for 7pm for a reason. I didn’t want it at 1815 and had to put it in my oven to keep warm whilst waiting for my guest.

Food didn’t seem fresh, meat dry and chewy, seemed like it had been reheated, soggy spring rolls and chewy prawn toast, didn’t enjoy it

Sad to say this was the worst Chinese I've ever had, half of it went into the bin. Tiny portions for the price except the rice potion, which was ridiculously large. Not worth the money and doubt I'll order from you again

The food was not great, I ordered crispy tofu, it looked like stale bread croutons and was chewy and dry. My husband had duck pancakes and there was more fat in the pancakes than edible meat. The king prawn balls were small Prawns in ALOT of batter so they were drowned and soggy. The egg fried rice was just yellowed rice, there were no chunks of egg in it. The chicken satay was enjoyed by my kids and the crackers were good although wasted as we paid for a bag and they gave one free, I hate wasting food, especially that costs £50, but most of this ended up in the bin.

The curry was good but arrived cold !!! The Lemon chicken was cooked alright but was spoiled by small pieces of black in the meat. as this is the first time we will try them again.

Poor food. The ribs sauce was very sweet and the ribs were tough. Spicy wings weren’t spicy and were gritty. Schezuan duck wasn’t crispy and didn’t seem to have any seasoning. Spring onions and cucumber seemed days old. Chilli chips were just chips with some onions on them. Really poor show for the price.

Good was delicious, the only downfall was saltiness. Everything tasted lovely but was just a little too salty. My mums meal was also salty and she had a different meal. Other than that, delicious!

Some part of our order was missing but after a phone to the restaurant the mistake was rectified and a lovely man delivered our food to complete our order within 15 minutes, amazing service thank you so so much

Lemon chicken was like chewing on leather. It was so tough I couldn't eat it.

The spring roll recipe has changed, I dislike the new recipe. You used to get 4 in a pack. You now get 6, but the quality dropped. The rest of the meal was nice but quite salty. Not quite the usual excellence, but it was still perfectly edible. Just a heads up for the spring roll fans mainly

Ok, it was a little bit later than stated, seems longer when you’re starving! However the food was hot and very tasty. Our American guests were very impressed with the set menu for 3.

Have tried others but their meat quality is not good.

Wrong dish turned up. We ordered stir fried vegetables and recieved something similar to a vegetable chop suey. It didn't taste nice. The chow mein was very dry and had an odd taste to it as well. The chicken balls were very nice and so was the curry sauce.

Excellent pre-ordering service. Arrived on time. Very lovely polite delivery driver. Food was very flavoursome, would order from here again.

Cold. According to information sent, it took 15 minutes to do a 5 minute journey. The food was not brought to the door in a insulated bag but was handed over in the plastic carrier bag from the restaurant.

Rather disappointing meal. Prices have increased, portion sizes appear to have reduced and quality was not up to scratch. Chilli chicken was bland and lacked spice. Rice was stodgy and the chicken balls rubbery.

Very tasty. Best noodles I have had in a long time and delivery arrived long before the restaurant was due to open. Tasty, hot and not a bad portion size.

Lovely, hot and fresh food. Had an issue with my duck, called and they were very apologetic and sent a whole new one out that was delicious, great service.

Food took way too long to arrive then when it did it was wrong and item missing. When finally got through on the phone to discuss the item was delivered within 30 mins and a verbal apology, however this was cold and required microwaving .

Disappointed, has previously been much better. Chilli Kung Po chicken was sweet and not very spicy. The seasonal stir fry veg was bean sprouts with ONE floret of broccoli and ONE slice of carrot. The portions are smaller. The chicken balls were good but I don’t think I’d order again and we’ve previously ordered many times.. shame

TERRIBLE. Worst takeaway ive ever had & we arent even fussy people. SO Bland, expensive. No taste Singapore chow mein tasted like a dry shoeslace, tasteless. Chilli chicken - tasteless, was like eating cotton wool ball, weirdest chicken ever eaten. Chicken balls - bland and small. £3.20 for 4 Spring rolls?! - Ridiculous & taste exact same as ones you usually get 10 for much less.far too expensive. Sweet & sour tasted like blood. Everything was like bland cardboard. Had to throw in bin, over £30 wasted!! Never again

Food arrived cold, and I mean cold the chicken was dry and over cooked or wasn’t freshly cooked and I had to microwave my food so that it was actually edible, not happy this time round with my order, so unless LA Orient do something about it I won’t be ordering again. I will await a response
