Just ordered chicken & mushroom in bbq sauce All was lovely apart from the BBQ sauce which was absolutely tasteless a very light peach colour and didn't taste of anything.

Not once have I ever been disappointed with anything that I've ordered. The staff are extremely polite and really friendly and even know me by name. Even my mother-in-law, who is rather picky with her meals, loved their food.

Always have a great takeaway, quick to take order & ready in 10 mins.

The menu is Russian Roulette for Vegans. Absolutely no labelling as to what is in anything so you don't know what you can have. No tofu black bean like other Chinese restaurants. I ordered mushroom fried rice and it had egg in it unlike other Chinese Restaurants. The menu needs bringing into 2024

Fantastic Chinese and very consistent. I tend ask for extra chilli to give it a bit of a kick. Prices are competitive and the food was flavorful and portion sizes were plenty. Cash and card accepted and the wait while ordering is usually minimal. Definitely recommend.

If i want a chinese it's always August moons

I've tried alot of Chinese's I'm Fareham and this is by far my favourite. Delicious food and good sized portions. 10/10 would recommend.

The best chinese locally. After moving to the area I decided to try all of the local chinese takeaways. This one is by far the best!

I was staying nearby and a friend ‘treated’ us all to a take away. I ordered my usual chop suey (house special) and BBQ spare ribs. Friends had their usual crispy beef and chicken balls. We shared fried rice and crackers. Sadly this was one of the WORST Chinese meals I have had in a long time. Everything was full of MSG, very little in the way of veggies in my chop suey, (although it is listed as a beansprout dish of which there were plenty…) the ribs were either boiled or just very undercooked and some gloopy horrid mess of a pale, MSG laden sauce thrown on. It was literally disgusting! I should have gone with the curry option that was offered to me! I see no one has reviewed this place since 2021. Surprized it is still going!

Not very happy with tonights takeaway ordered Singapore chow mein received plain chicken chow mein... the chicken looked awful and it was all really greasy and tasteless, waste of money chucked most of it. On the plus side the chips were quite nice though Don't think we will be using it again.

Visited on a Saturday night, ordered at the counter... Patient and smiling staff...offering their help with suggestions for meal combinations. Waited approx 20 mins, which is great !! Plenty of parking outside.

I only discovered this place on the last day I lived in fareham and the food was amazing. It was a bit of a drive to collect but it was worth it.

Living off Fairfield Ave we used to travel to White Hart lane at Portchester for our Curry and Chow Main, but after a bad one looked for something more local and looking on google maps found August Moon. The food is Great Both the King Prawn Chow Main and the Beef Curry are great and With a fish and Chip shop not far away we both had a great meal.

When I go here , when my husband is away lol . I always have 2 pancake rolls lol . They are quite big . The first time I went it wasn't very nice at all , food seems to be greasy and left a funny taste but now it seemed to have got better . The rolls are nice and crispy . 😋

"And the prize for smallest portion of Special curry and Spare Ribs in the UK, goes to"! £16 is a bit steep too.... However, the taste was very good, hence the 3 stars.

As it is a take out not sure how a rating for atmosphere is required. The service was very good and the food was excellent. We will be going back soon...

Love it I mainly get the duck fried rice but they let me have sweet & sour sauce with instead of bbq sauce. Also they always remember my name to witch I like well worth going.

Never a disappointment when ordering for collection. Whatever the meal, it's ready in 15 minutes. Piping hot and tasteful. My favourite local Chinese takeaway.

Think the portion size is large at the expense of quality. We had the mixed starters which were indifferent. Special fried rice was horrible. Chicken chow mein tasteless and grey. Beef Szechuan was the only dish we enjoyed. Chow mein and rice went in the bin. Waste of money

One of the oldest takeaway s in Fareham, I remember as a teenager 43 years ago going to the August moon. Still as good now as it was then.

Augustus Moon is by far, the best Chinese restaurant on the South Coast of England, if not the best Chinese restaurant in the U.K

Always great food and great service! I've been ordering from here for about 20 years 😂. It's a shame they can't offer delivery but that's probably because they're so popular and would be waay too busy! 😊

Easy to park outside this take away where your order is ready in no more then 20 minutes. Phone in advance to avoid the queue and collect on entry. Good selection on menu and all piping hot. First choice for Chinese.

Didn't bother phoning our order in, just turned up at 6.45pm & ordered inside. Plenty of space to park. Told it would be ready in 10 minutes so sat in Car. Ready when I went back in after 8 minutes. Best Chinese Takeaway we've had in years.

I usually call in my order and when come to collect it is usually ready or being packed. When i get the food home it is still piping hot and full of flavour. Very good local takeaway

My daughter had a chicken chow mein and I had a beef chow mein....both were super tasty, with plenty of meat, onions and bean sprouts and fine noodles which I prefer! Will definitely order from here again and try other dishes...

Absolutely always go here for my Chinese. Fast, reliable serving and all food piping hot. Only disappointment is when I fancy a curry on a Monday and they are closed!

Limited street parking right outside in lay-by. Pre order by phone and ready in 10 minutes. All dishes piping hot and packed with flavour. BBQ spare ribs still in some gelatinous gue but taste OK. Not a grain of rice or string of noodle left. Love it.

Food is usually very good but is occasionally inconsistent in its quality. Staff always friendly and helpful.

Recently reopened after lockdown and the take away is back to it's best. The ribs are back on my must have list. Order early as they get busy quickly.

For the length of time I waited thought I would get nice hot flavourful food. How wrong was I. It was Cold bland tasteless flavourless wont be returning in a hurry. Forget the rudeness of when I asked how long it will be after waiting 25min.

Happy new year !!! Food was diabolical chicken and mushroom soup was hot water with raw mushrooms , satay chicken that had no satay dry ribs unrecognizable bbq sauce - more like grease !! Spring rolls were just batter no vegetables , the one dish I kept to feed my 6yr old was fried rice in which my poor daughter found hair in which stopped her wanting to eat it !!! Absolutely fuming 😠 customer service awful as returned our meal with complaint and staff were rude

BBQ sauce?!!! What's happened to the rich flavoursome sauce that was??...Its tasteless and colourless now! I won't be back.

I had a king prawn chicken curry, and I say it was the best Chinese curry I’ve ever had. Not greasy, lovely flavour, plenty of proper king prawns. Highly recommended thanks I’ll be back again. 😀👍🏻

New ownership. New Menu. New low quality. For 15 years we used this take-away. I remember saying to Mark, who took the orders by phone, that we had enjoyed the food there for years. He replied "We must be doing something right then." Indeed. It was always of a predictable and high quality. Then new owners took over. They will be hard pressed to retain any of the former customers. Our first meal from the new owners was nothing special, just below quality. Gave them another chance, that meal went mostly into the bin.

Last Sunday, I order the Chinese Take Away, lovely chicken curry with Fried rice, lovely chicken balls and the Singapore rice noodles it is also Singapore Fried Rice it was lovely, sweet and sour chicken it is also lovely.

Great local takeaway food, usually cooked quickly and served with a smile. No eat-in option and no toilet, but there's a bench to sit on while you wait for your food.

Lovely,chicken curry and the foods it is fresh and hot. The customer service it is friendly. I ate the chow mien it is tasted delicious and it was also chicken balls it is tasted very yummy.

Ordered Roast Duck and fried rice with barbecue sauce. Absolutely awful. Fried rice dried out, duck edible but the barbecue sauce was tasteless gelatinous gloop. Shame really as the new menu looks good they just need a chef who can cook it! Don’t waste your money go anywhere but here!

This used to be the best Chinese in Fareham! Have been ordering from here for more than 25 years. Amazing service and the food Omg! It’s now under new ownership and it’s terrible! 45min wait even after ordering, prioritise walk ins over phone orders, and the recipes of the food has all changed and it is now awful! Everything tastes like soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce! Chips are stale, crispy chilli beef wasn’t crispy and drenched in what tasted like pure soy sauce. Special house curry was anything but and chicken curry was like water! It’s a sad day when the Chinese you have loved so much is changed and I am sad to say I will never be going back. Bring back the old owners!

We really enjoy eating the takeaways from here, but We were a bit disappointed with the pancake rolls recently as they seem to only have bean sprouts in them now, what's happened to the pork strips? they seem to have disappeared, now the rolls seem very bland and the price is still the same! bit of a rip off but all in all not a bad meal, and the restaurant seems to be closed an awful lot lately, I wish they would start a home delivery service, maybe that's something to think about.

Not very nice ! The chips were heavily salted , I didn't realise until I put them on my meal, you could actually see the grains of salt. I wasnt asked if I wanted salt on them when I ordered my meal.

Very good food generally and deffo improved over the last year. Good service and quick. Maybe just a little more expensive than others but worth it. Just a shame it always seems closed more than often now. Always on holiday quite a bit

Why is it so difficult to find a decent chinese with a decent hygiene rating! We hoped we had found one, 5* hygiene rating and recent good trip advisor ratings. Service good, food average. Ranged from tasteless to everything tasting of sweet and sour sauce, we didn’t order anything specifically ‘sweet n sour’. The search goes on.

The food was good and they even cooked me something that wasn't on the menu. I had sweet and sour ribs, chicken chop suey, egg fried rice and shredded duck.

We order combinations meal for two and let me just say "Young Chow Fried Rice" are delicious the best in town so far well done Beef with mushroom(Average)chicken chop suey(Average)sweet corn soup(Average)sweet and sour chicken ball and the sauce(Average)I n term in phone ordering are very quick and also as we collected food still warm..thank youBad Point:-- Mushroom size/slice are to big.

We don't get takeaways often but tried August moon as last meals from la orient weren't very good. Really disappointed. No flavour to egg fried rice, chicken satays were tasty but dry and spicy deep fried beef was like eating bits of cardboard in a synthetic sugary sauce. Disliked it so much I didn't finish and actually threw it out. 😔

OK. A bit pricy for a takeaway but not bad.
