La Fish in Chichester

My workplace hosted a Quiz Night with LA Fish providing the food for 50 people. Yoddi and his team worked with us from the very beginning to ensure everyone had a fantastic evening. Dietary requirements were met with no issues whatsoever. Nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious. We will definitely be in touch again for another evening. Thank you so much!! Oaklands Pavilion holds many functions for large groups and we were asked to provide a fish and chip supper for 150 people. Who could possibly provide delicious food , delivered to the door, for such a large amount of people! LA FISH CAN Yoddi and his team were great from start to finish. Catering for dietary requirements within the group they delivered to our door, on time, with a smile, delicious and hot food. Everything was perfect from providing the condiments to the quality of food. Thank you Yoddi and team for the usual fantastic standard for such a large group. Incredible meal had tonight. We had a selection of meals. 4 of us had cod and chips and the kids had pies which were homemade. Cod was crispy and tasty and the pies were filled with meat. Amazing

My daughter collected a takeaway for us this evening. Awful! The cod was greasy, the salad lacklustre, the calamari had the most horriblest batter - like you find on onion rings - only the chips were good. I cannot believe they won an award. I threw most of my fish in the bin. We won’t be back - there are so many nicer places for fish and chips. Very disappointed.

Best fish and chips we've ever had. We went as a family to pick up takeaway and it was a real joy. We've tried them all in chichester but this one stands out head and shoulders above the rest. We had a selection of meals and the fish, kebabs and kids meal were great

We had a charity quiz night to support our medical mission in Uganda. We had delicious fish and chips from LA Fish. It was amazing even though we ordered a lot. The fish was juicy and flaky, the batter was light and crispy, and the chips were fluffy inside and golden brown outside. Loddi, was very helpful and paid attention to us. He made sure all our orders were in and delivered on time so we could focus on the quiz night. We highly recommend LA Fish to anyone looking for a great meal.

La Fish is the best Fish and Chip shop in the area. The staff are lovely and the fish is the best. Crispy batter and a chunky piece of cod. The chips are good too and lots of them. We have had their fish and chips from them many time over the years the food is always of the same high standard. Although it is on a busy road I have never had a problem parking.

Fantastic service and price point is write as portions are big. So pleased I have a good chippy by me as just moved to area. Always clean and staff really friendly

We went after a Goodwood festival, because Google suggested it. Well done Google. Lovely people, and freshly cooked good quality fish and chips. They were busy, so we're obviously not the only people who rated them.

After seeing advertised that they had won best fish and chip shop in Sussex we had to try. We've lived in Chichester for years but rarely eat fish and chips, but we decided to on this occasion. We can see why they have been voted the best! The fish was crispy and chips. The kids loved the nuggets! They took care when writing our order and swiftly called out our names after a few mins with it ready! It was really busy and to remember our names was a real treat! We shall be eating here much more often

Very average fish and chips and certain not what I would expect from an award winning fish and chip shop. The chips were bland and a bit soggy and the cod a bit too dry. It was ok but I certainly wouldn't rush to return and it wasn't even close the the excellent fish and chips you can get at Harrys fish and chips near by which was closed that day.

Wow! You can see why it was voted best in Sussex. Travelled from Hove to visit it and it didn’t disappoint! Great food, amazing staff - can’t recommend highly enough!

Fantastic spot in Chichester for your fish and chips. Been coming here for years woth the family and have never been let down. The doners are excellent and the onion rings. Something for everyone The staff were very friendly and attentive.

Staying in area for a few days and looked on web site for best recommended Takeaway Fish & Chips, and La Fish came best. Drove to shop friendly staff very clean shop and prefer meals, waited for them to be cooked, drive back to holiday rental served up meals and , well chips were not fully cooked plus had lots of black spot fish batter was nice but fish from where ever you took a piece was extremely dry, could eat it ! Binned it all all and had beans on toast. From the reviews our experience must be a “ one off”

Excellent take away, yoddy(not sure of spelling) was great to deal with. As a northerner/Scottish always looking for the best take away in town and for kebabs I would defo recommend la fish in Chichester, by far the best

Ordered 1 portion of Large chips for the kids. Paid £4.75 which was a lot more than I was expecting. Got them home. The chips themselves were undercooked. Some were just hard. Most were anemic. And the portion size... for £4.75 this was a disgrace....

Found this place by chance and thought we'd give it a try. Can honestly say that we had the best Rock and chips we have ever had. Nice size piece of fish, crispy light batter, not greasy, good chips - what more can you say? Highly recommended.

We travelled down for the day to the wittering and I can honestly say this place rounded the day off amazingly. There were a large group of us and they cooked all our food fresh. They supplied us with forks and napkins at no extra cost. We ordered 6 large cod and I must say we haven't had better. The batter was crispy and fluffy with a golden texture. The service from the staff was top notch. They made sure we had everything we need and they gave the kids a drink on the house. How lovely is that? We will be back.

I came to pick up some food at the end of may with my children. However, the sights I saw whilst I was waiting for my food was awful! The sides looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time, was definitely a build up of dirt and I would like to say I do not recommend eating from this chip shop! Will be expecting a hygiene inspector to go through this place... I couldn’t let my kids eat from there.

Excellent customer service again from La Fish who delivered a large order for patients and staff on Oaklands Ward around Christmas time 2019. Food was delicious and great attention to detail by La Fish meant all items requested were delivered.

Came here on the way home from work the cod was big and really tasty too the chips were lovely not soggy at all and not dripping in oil it was the perfect cod and chips and not too expensive either

Regrettably a poor eating experience. Ordered haddock, chips and mushy peas for home delivery via Deliveroo. Delivery efficient and on time, chips and mushy peas - great. But the fish, oh dear. Overcooked, over battered and not properly filleted. Not sure I’ll bother again which is a shame as the trip advisor reviews I read beforehand were the reason I chose LA Fish.

Whenever I have fish and chips it comes from here. The owner has been doing this for a LONG time, and there are few tricks you can teach him. He also puts significant money back into the community... check out the display case full of letters from local charities, thanking La Fish for their support. There's very little staff turnover, which says something, too, don't you think? In this "big chain" world, remember: Use it or lose it.

Ive been going to LA fish since I moved to Chichester 5 years ago and the quality just gets better and better. Adam, Craig, and the team run a top operation and always deliver a high quality meal which is great value for money. The fish is always perfect and the chips are great. Can’t recommend enough!

I wonder if I am a little harsh with 3 stars as this was clearly a popular takeaway with the number of customers.

We popped in as we were feeling lazy on a bank holiday Monday evening and agencies some fish and chips. I'm so pleased we went here. The staff were smiley and welcoming and lovely and handled my pregnancy confusion ordering brilliantly!! :-) the menu was a joy to choose from and the fact it had a few versions of halloumi on it as well as brie got me genuinely excited. Best and largest bit of fish I've tasted for a long time and the halloumi kebab was lovely. Truly gutted as we were too full to finish it all. Looking forward to our next lazy fish and chip evening. Our family have been coming to Adams (la fish haha we just always call it Adams) for YEARS generations and the food just gets better and better.

Fabulous large portions of great tasting cod, cooked to order for a fussy dad and teenage son; we regularly discuss our "top 10 fish and chips" (sounds sad - but isn't) and would recommend La Fish to anyone in Chichester locality! Easily in our "top 10" - which is praise indeed!!!

Dropped in on the off chance and we were rewarded with great service and lovely food. If we are in the area again we would definitely visit again.

This is the second time that we have eaten their fish and chips. First time they were good so we decided to go back again. We were very disappointed, the chips were soggy and the cod was not as hot as it should have been.

Think this is a normal chippy? Think again! Honestly, one of the, if not! Best fish and chip shops I've ever had the pleasure of eating in. You go in and walk through to this very warm and welcoming seating/restaurant area, surprisingly quite romantic, also calm and with lovely background music. We were greeted by this endearing chap with a grey goatee beard, then served by a very friendly young man. The food came out in really good time, wow! Cod and chips, pipping hot and perfectly cooked, the fish tasted lovely, as did the chips. The service was excellent too, even down to the smiley face and a Merry Christmas on the receipt.

Originally I had been going to say that these were not only the best fish and chips I have had in Chichester, but the only ones.

Me and my partner have ordered delivery here many time before. It’s always been so great until this occasion. I used to work as a fryer in a fish and chips shop and you can definitely tell that the chips had been sat waiting for ages in the chipper and that the fryers haven’t been skimmed. Not too happy this time.

Every year the Funtington & West Stoke Cub Scouts carry out a 'Chip Shop' Challenge in Chichester city centre. The pack is split into groups who are then given a map of all the local Chip Shops in the area, they then have to score the shops on several categories and the winning shop is then given a certificate. The judges are still compiling the scores but La Fish never fails to deliver, with great customer service and excellent Fish & Chips. This year they really out did themselves by giving each Cub their own portion of chips and chicken nuggets, every cub was very thankful and also very full of Chips by the end of the evening:-)

The title says it all. Hands down the best chippy in Chichester and actually the best kebab too! Staff are friendly and pleasant, service was extremely fast. Absolutely fantastic large kebab, loads of meat and the bread was still soft and lovely too, dressings were exactly as i asked for and not skimpped on, I struggled to finish but it tasted too good not to. My new go to place for a kebab! Fish and chips are lovely too - whole family thoroughly enjoyed .

I ordered from here on two occasions, both were unsatisfactory to day the least. The first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt because hey people make mistakes. But I can’t ignore the poor performance second time around. Both times the food was undercooked. I ordered a half pound cheese burger which was undercooked and tasteless. Costing £8.40 I was a bit miffed to say the least! Then again, the chips on both occasions were undercooked! The potato on the inside was stodgy and cold!

Just the quality,,its great,,,crispy light batter ,,lovely flakey moist cod.And chips again a treat.

It’s been quite a while since my girlfriend & I had been here & unfortunately it will be our last ever visit. We ordered a large cod & chips to share & in hindsight should have probably ordered haddock as it may have been cooked fresh. Both the large cod & the chips had been sitting around rather than being freshly cooked - the chips were very soggy & the fish was really not good – too much greasy batter & not enough fish. Taste wise the fish was not that nice- overcooked & bland. We won’t be coming back!

While we like fine dining, we also enjoy a fish and chip supper most weeks to give the cook at home a night off! Well, La Fish is the best chippy in Chichester we were told.... we can confirm it is excellent. The portions were generous, the fish cooked to perfection. Good to eat in or take away, you might have to wait a little while as the place is very busy it's that popular, but the staff are excellent and work hard to serve your freshly cooked order asap.

We moved to the area, and our first night was spent eating on the floor of the new house with La Fish fish, chips, and onion rings.
