la Delicia in Solihull

We went for breakfast and it was really rubbish. I ordered eggs Benedict. What I got was a bap (not a toasted muffin) cut in half with a piece of bacon on each side. On half I got an overcooked egg, on the other side all I got was boiled egg white with no yolk. To try and cover it all up, hollandaise sauce was slathered all over the place. We ordered kids toast with Nutella. Weirdly the toast came with margarine on and then a pot of Nutella as well. My husband ordered the full English. Super greasy and bits burnt. All in all, won’t be going back and was absolutely not worth the money. Would avoid like the plague!

I went here for a meal and now wished I’d never gone as the staff were all so rude and not very helpful at all All I will say is I’ll never go back there again

Wish I had read the other Too Good To Go review before I ordered mine as it was the same experience. A bag of greasy burnt sausages & bacon. Some chucked in a paper bag which were so greasy the bag disintegrated & some placed on cheap brown bread with the middle part slathered with margarine. This scheme is supposed to help ‘food waste’ but this was all inedible so got thrown in the bin. Bag also contained a piece of stale bought in lardy cake. This apparently was £15 worth of food but on a huge positive this is my first experience of the place so I’m very very pleased I hadn’t wasted anymore money by actually eating here. I certainly won’t be returning. Staff were lovely albeit very young & didn’t seem aware that they were expecting any Too Good To Go customers that day

Went in this morning the front of house was amazing a young lady called shelby directed me to the perfect morning breakfast the chef making the food trinity was amazing the poached eggs were perfect definitely be back

Catch up with friends, we all like to support our local Delhi, however tables hadn't been cleared outside or wiped down and there were plenty of staff on. The coffees had to be sent back, food was ok though.

Pleasant staff let down by a poor cook who can’t cope with the HS 2 rush . Avocado smash in sour dough - no sour dough ?? Sausage sandwich - no sausages ? Bacon or bacon - great choice ! Coffee very good 👌👌

Fantastic little cafe. The 3 girls Trinity, Shelby, and Anwyn are a credit to the place. Definitely see a difference now they have a new manager, and staff, very friendly and welcoming. Have been advised to try the breakfast next.

Shelby was serving me and she was so polite and helpful especially for so early in the morning giving me recommendations when i was unsure. The food was lovely as was the coffee. 10/10 would go here again.

First visited last month and will definitely be going back. Coffee was lovely and offered daily alternative milks. Great customer service, staff were very friendly. Look forward to returning for breakfast or lunch.

We looked up on trip advisor for our nearest place to have breakfast and this place popped up! I ordered my favourite breakfast on the menu which is sourdough toast with poached egg and Avocado and coffee. £9.50 I was so disappointed with my breakfast as they turned up with ordinary sliced bread white bread!! When questioning the girls didn’t seem to know what the difference was ! The staff were not welcoming or interested in the customer only having a laugh with each other.The cafe is very well presented but behind the scenes is very chaotic with staff not knowing what was what! I used the toilet before leaving and it was filthy dirty with a toilet seat that didn’t fit!! This was all 10am so clearly wasn’t cleaned that morning or by the look of it for several days. When we looked on the website the prices were advertised lower than they actually are! I definitely would not go back!

I was slightly concerned about visiting here with my cycling buddies after reading some recent reviews. However, we did show up mid-morning and found, with one exception, that La Delicia was at least on a par with many of the cafés we frequent. The coffee was the right temperature and tasty and was well presented. The food had a bias towards the savoury side but that suited most of our party. The café was busy so we were warned that hot food wouldn’t be served immediately but we were happy to wait for it. The delay wasn’t too long. Just one of our party seemed to be forgotten and he eventually told them he was still waiting. They remedied the mistake pretty much instantly. I think we mostly felt we would come again. The staff were friendly and attentive.

So disappointed! Went into for a few take away sandwiches. One lady making coffee knew I was waiting for a few minutes and no acknowledgement at all. I would have been happy to wait but she didn’t even acknowledge my existence! Nor did a member of staff in the kitchen area that looked at me. Very poor customer service, would never return, ended up in Costa and got a lovely friendly service. Will make sure I inform others of their rudeness!! Total shame but can’t stand rudeness

Awful service. We were the first people to arrive with simple orders of sandwiches and salmon on toast. 3 of us ordered soft drinks and received them quote prompt. The tea did not arrive at the table until 25 minutes after we ordered and when we questioned it, it was the “‘next thing to be done” which we think the lady forgot about it. An hour after our food arrives - however one of our parties food did not arrive to the table 20 minutes after the rest of us and we had finished eating before it had arrived. There was other tables around us that had there food before us & the takeaways seemed to get there food within 5 minutes. I don’t see why it takes so much longer to put it on a plate.The food was average - stale bread . All in all a bad experience. They need more staff and it may be a better place. It’s is impossible for one person to take orders, make drinks, do takeaways, bring out food to the tables. There were other dissatisfied customers - more staff would solve this. Very poorly run. Would not recommend.

I ordered a turkey sandwich and a steak slice for nearly £7 and was told the wait would be a couple of minutes. 20 mins later i received a dry sandwich that consisted of 3 hard stuffing balls and a dry thinly sliced piece of turkey, along with a steak slice that would've looked more at home in greggs for £2 less. I'm all for supporting little local businesses but not when they are trying to get away with serving stuff like this at silly prices. Wont be using them again.

Good coffee but neither the other two customers nor staff wearing face masks. A pity as it puts me off visiting again.

I noticed that this restaurant was offering Tapas which is a different type of cuisine in the village.Food was excellent with generous portions which was enough for three adults. Gambass pil pil was our favourite dish. Excellent Camembert which had plenty of chutney and bread.Staff are very friendly and we will be visiting very soon.

Our takeaways get better each time we have one! Highly recommend here especially the hazelnut milkshakes

I have ordered food from here several times now. The food has been very nice so far. However, we ordered the nachos the other day as they looked very tempting. The photograph and the website describes them as being topped with chilli, guacamole, sour cream, jalapeños, salsa and cheese.Unfortunately what arrived was a box of dry nachos with a very meagre sprinkle of cheese, salsa and jalapeños.We paid £6.50 for these. I emailed Shocal asking for a refund as they were not what I ordered but got no response. I then sent a meessage to the Facebook page and got a response to say they were sorry and it was being sorted out that very minute. I have heard nothing more. I am keen to support local businesses during this difficult time. But I am not going to pay for something that was not as described. The photo shows it all. The left is the image from the website. The right is what we received.

Another welcome and rare find. Take away breakfast and coffee at a suitable distance. Very popular. Great sandwich and coffee. I was the passing cyclist!

I treated myself to a Full English Breakfast Pizza today after a long walk. It was absolutely delicious; just what I wanted after all that exercise! La Delicia never fails to deliver delicious food at a very reasonable price, and in comfortable surroundings, served by friendly and helpful staff. Thank you again to all those who work there!

Lovely cooked breakfast, advo’s on toast, coffee, tea & cake had by family! High chair, fruit juice and gingerbread man for my 20 month old. Nice friendly staff and nice environment. Will be visiting again 😋

Had time on my hands therefore popped in for a Saturday morning breakfast .Coffee was goodBut the full English was lacking a bit ..the bacon had no colour to it and could have done with an extra min or two .The sausages were terrible ...no colour at all and only half cooked ..plus I think they may have been frozen and not fresh I was told sausages were pork therefore served with no colour ??

We visited on the first Saturday of the new menu, despite being bookings only the new chef kindly agreed to accommodate us. The food, Prawn and chorizo starter and Salmon main course was exceptional, one of the best meals we have had in a long time.

First visit for us yesterday after hearing good things about it and we weren’t disappointed. Fantastic food and hospitality and we’ve already booked to go again. Well worth a visit

We had the most wonderful meal on Saturday night here. The chef came out and explained the menu, which was all freshly cooked, and it was gorgeous. The waitress was great fun and can highly recommend eating here. We will definitely be going back. You can’t beat supporting your local village.

I visited La Delicia with my mum today to try the Sunday Lunch shared platter, I was very impressed .All components of the platter were very well cooked and the chicken was superb, the staff are attentive and friendly. I will definitely be returning. Well done

Sunday lunch was amazing the chicken was juicey veg were crisp and hot well worth the £17.50 for two people.

Wow what can I say about the amazing Sunday Roast my wife and I had. The roast chicken was really tender juicy and we'll seasoned, the roast potatoes was nice and hot and crispy, the veg was piping hot (not over cooked like other places that arrive cold and mushy) here they was streaming hot with a nice crunch to the veg which we like. The staff and service service was brilliant, and they also have a great selection of wines and beers to have with your meal. I would recommend LaDelicia a visit you won't be disappointed.

Would definitely recommend this place, everything was cooked perfectly and we even had food left over. Can’t wait to visit again!

Went in for Sunday roast and it was fantastic. Everything was perfectly cooked. Full of flavour and great portion size and value for money.The presentation was lovely too. Would definitely come again.

We stopped off at the cafe on a Friday evening with friends, the staff were lovely and friendly. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced. I will be stopping off again for some tasty food and of course a glass of wine.

My husband and I frequented the business a few times as we were getting fed up of a lack of service and general lack of respect from management of a local pub up the road from us. Having avoided it before because of previous rude management we thought we'd give it another chance. How pleased we did.it is obvious a lot of money and care had been invested much more intimate but relaxing and tastefully decorated. The staff were friendly. Couldn't do enough for u .we have been bk many more times and tried out the evening time we came bk meeting loads more people due to the laid back vibe and excellent service big thanks to Jamie youll know who we are keep it upx

Me and my friend went in to the shop and decided to have a cake and a milkshake each. The guy kept asking what we’d ordered over and over again because he kept forgetting. The cakes were plated up. Fine. And then again, asked us which milkshakes... ‘a chocolate and a strawberry’ I replied for about the fourth time. We then waited awkwardly as I was unsure whether to pay first or not before he said he’d make the chocolate milkshake whilst I pay. At this point I gave up asking for strawberry and just paid for the chocolate one and the cakes. Went to sit down and the said chocolate milkshake arrives looking like a 4 year old squirted the cream on the top! We quickly ate up and left as we thought it was absolutely crap from customer service to quality of food. It wasn’t even that busy, could have a little more sympathy if it was. Such a shame as I’d prefer to support local businesses but the customer service in Costa just a few doors down is so much better so will be going there rather than going back to this place..

Had a lovely dinner here with my friend, services was fantastic food was 💯 perfect. Will be going back again, catered for me really well as I’m dairy intolerant 10/10 for these guys very well priced and good portion sizes

Me and my hubby popped in for breakfast the food was cooked fresh and they both delicious also just to say you have so many choices of different menus really impressed and we even took some cheesecake home delicious. I would recommend you to visit and you will find out and you will be back for more.

Called in here again on Saturday with a friend for lunch. The place was being run by several very young members of staff who quite frankly, were pretty useless. The guy taking our order kept asking what we’d ordered as he kept forgetting - there were only two of us! We asked if the omelette came with a bit of side salad and he said yes. When it came there wasn’t any so we asked again and another guy came with some salad on a plate and practically threw it onto our table. Obviously wasn’t pleased to have been asked! They didn’t bring my cold drink but when we went to query it they said oh, you should have taken it out the fridge when you ordered. Well, ok but no one said. Overall I like the food here but on a Saturday the service really takes a dip and puts me of going there. Shame. I like to support local businesses and this place has so much going for it.

Me and my boyfriend were in the area and seen this delightful little family run deli. We ordered two breakfasts mine being veggie and his normal, they were both delicious we even made room for some salted caramel cheesecake afterwards. It was divine!

I like to support local independent shops/cafes. Warm friendly atmosphere with helpful staff. The place is clean and decorated in a modern style. Plenty of choice on the menu and reasonably priced.

Went for Breakfast at 9.30am on Monday 22nd October, friendly and cosy atmosphere, very polite lady behind the counter, ordered a full English breakfast, arrived within 10 minutes, big meal!! Didn't really take to either the potato cake or the sausages, but overall it was ok!! will try again but maybe just for a bacon sandwich or baguette!

Feeling hungry I popped in here for a full English .. All was fine ..lovely toasted bread Only thing to let it down was the mushrooms and tomatoes ...why use canned ....fresh would have been so much nicer

My husband and I were married earlier this year in a private property in Balsall Common. Unfortunately our waitressing staff dropped out one week before the wedding. Jamie and Lee were kind enough to jump in to the rescue. They managed to organise several members of staff to help out and came round a couple of days prior to check out our venue. They even lent us their coffee machine (which went down a storm!). On the day the whole team did an amazing job and we really appreciate the thought and effort they put in for us. Many thanks :)

Arrived at 9.00am to a pleasant reception..ordered a sausage and egg sandwich to eat in with a delightfully fresh coffee. Amazing taste from the sandwich to reveal Lashford sausages with a perfect egg wrapped in fresh bread which was sublime..will definitely be returning...five stars..

Waited 40 mins for a takeaway only to find when asking on the time that it was left behind counter for 10 mins, Bacon was then hardly cooked and cold.

Visited today first time since the refurb. Really nice addition to the village. Very busy with a queue waiting but decided to wait. Ordered two sausage and onion ciabattas which were really nice - lots of onions, lots of good quality sausage. Well worth £3.30 each. Unfortunately the young staff working seemed very slow and disorganised and I felt really let the place down. Took away a strawberry tart in a paper bag which was only thing on offer which wasn’t great so didn’t arrive at its destination in one piece! I think for the obvious financial investment that has been made in the premises, they just need some decent staff then it will be so much better.

Popped in to get a takeaway sandwich. Asked for a beef and horseradish on granary bread. The bread was dry and the beef was pre packed stuff that you would buy in a packet at a supermarket. The portion of beef was also rather stingy. My hopes were not raised when one of the staff took away the horseradish sauce and began smelling it! £3.30 and a quarter of it ended up in the bin. Wont be rushing back.

I just moved around the local area and decided i would give la delicia a try, the decor is beautiful inside and out so i was excited to see what the food was like. I came to the Royal Wedding 2018 day, La delicia had put on an event, hereby the royal wedding was being shown on the televisions, and a new menu had been put on especially for that day. The pancakes were to die for and its safe to say that I felt very welcomed and like i had been there hundreds of times. The staff were dressed for the occasion and all very polite, they had comedy masks of the royal family on, which made all the customers laugh. Jamie and Lee (owners) were very welcoming and answered any questions i had, looks like a fun and friendly place to work - let alone be a customer here !

Very nice surroundings with friendly staff. The sandwiches we chose tasted lovely. The ingredients were quality and the bread was fresh. It was especially nice today on The hottest day of the year as they had opened the long front window - making it feel very Mediterranean. Well worth a visit

Popped in here for some lunch on my way back from a morning shopping trip in Solihull. Had passed this cafe before prior to its refurbishment but did not think it looked particularly appealing for lunch.

Popped in on Monday lunchtime, was extremely impressed with the ambiance and look of this restaurant, which I understand has recently been refurbished. Loved the safe mural on the wall. Staff were extremely attentive even though they were clearly busy. There was a great selection of cakes, sandwiches and more substantive meals. Enjoyed the coffee so much I ordered a second. My breakfast and daughters lunch were delicious and served really quickly, the restaurant was spotless and I will certainly be making a return visit.

Well ... the newly refurbished interior is stunning .... a huge improvement .... unfortunately the food and sandwich choice isn’t !! All has stayed the same ... cakes very very average and not matching the plush upmarket interior ...deli ??? No cold meats .... no salami .... no salads picked fresh cheeses .... etc etc etc - a huge disappointment .... as was the breakfast ..anaemic toast .... microwaved (ruined)hash brown with a date label left on .... response from the owner when told ....... toast replaced for my friend who asked them not to bother ..... arrived with the words .... “ here’s your replacement toast whether you want it or not!” When told and shown the label on the nuked hash brown .... met with a laugh . Counter staff lovely .... owner ... take a customer service course !!!! I was a regular .....
