We were staying in Arundel and found the kitchen of the pub we were staying at was temporarily closed. I phoned La Campania on the off chance they might have a table last Saturday night. We were extremely lucky, as the very friendly and helpful person who answered my call said they had just had a cancellation, so off we went. The restaurant as indeed full, however we were seated quickly and service was excellent. Lovely authentic Italian food, lovely staff, lovely ambience. We were SO lucky to get a table in this great restaurant on a Saturday night. And of course, we will be going again next time we're in Arundel. Only this time I'll book in advance!

Celebrating a birthday and a new baby, was told to shoosh by a miserable staff member when we started to sing happy birthday. Food wasn’t great. Roasted veg greasy, no flavour to the chicken. Mussels were overcooked and the sauce they were served in was like custard. Bill was £400. Won’t be back

Very nice Italian restaurant. Good prices. When we went, on Thursday, they were selling steaks at half price (and a lot were ordered!) and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and quick. Real Italians worked there and the food was lovely. The sauces were brilliant - I had the spaghetti carbonara and it is one of the dishes they are renowned for. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

A large group of us had lunch in La Campania after doing a walking tour of the town. We had pre ordered. They sat us at three large tables in a separate room. All the food and drink arrived on time. It was hot tasty and all of us were delighted. It was a fantastic range of food and drink and it all hit the spot

Greeted warmly, service was friendly and polite. We live locally but haven’t been here much and after tonight this will change, food was delicious and plentiful. The young lady that served us was fabulous, everything was top notch. Thank you and see you soon 😊

We were so lucky to get a table for 2 on a busy Saturday night and we had a really lovely evening. The food was fabulous, the staff were perfectly attentive and so friendly, we will definitely return.....thank you!

Nice environment and wine. Small sea bass portions unnecessarily swamped in tomato sauce. Off attitude generally from the male waiter who didn’t seem that bothered and it came across as such. Disappointed as we were looking forward given what we’ve heard about the restaurant.

My husband, best friend and I booked to eat here after seeing Wicked Little Letters at the Town Hall. We only had room for main meals, the portions were hot, large and delicious. Hubby had carbonara, bestie had risotto with fish and mine was mushroom risotto. The waitress was very friendly and kept a careful eye on our table, immediately replenishing our water bottle. A very good choice for us to finish our lovely day.

Excellent food, friendly service. I decided to book La Campania for an early lunch for a party of 4 after reading other reviews. The food was great and we really enjoyed the whole experience. I had the prawn and salmon risotto and it was fantastic.

This was our 2nd visit here, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. But, it gets very busy so book ahead.

Came in for an early supper before heading home after a day in the area. We ordered bread, which was delicious, and a pizza and spaghetti bolognaise. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The staff and manager were charming, made us feel welcome and we had a thoroughly romantic quiet supper before a 150 mile drive home. Thanks, we will be back.

A lovely Italian restaurant my wife and i visited at lunch lots of locals seemed to be in for lunch food was cooked to perfection and service was good without being too intrusive

I have visited La Campania twice and have been more than impressed. The staff are very friendly with a great service and the food is out of this world. There is so much choice for everyone. Plenty of veggie and vegan options as well as a brilliant gluten free menu. Great value for money and a wonderful atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back for more delicious food!

The restaurant looks rather quaint and is in a great location. However, the paper napkins were thin and cheap in appearance and I’ve not seen that before in a restaurant. The food was hit and miss, depending on what you ordered. The sardines were delicious but the goat’s cheese could have been cooked more. Similarly, the olives were of good quality but the pizza was rather greasy. The waitress was cheerful and efficient but the management asked if we wanted our change even though they’d included the tip on the bill. The restaurant is bright, clean and had a vibrant and lively atmosphere which was pleasant and enough.

Lovely food as usual, waitresses very good but find the Manager rather obnoxious. Needs some customer training. He can’t cope if they get busy.

I had the prawns to start and the truffle mushroom for mains and both were very tasty. I couldn’t finish the risotto so brought it home for the next day. All the food was well received by our party. They are accommodating to having the odd youngster in the group too. All lovely Will go again for sure.

We dropped in here for dinner while staying nearby, and managed to book a table for the same evening. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the food was excellent. We weren't rushed at any point, and catered for our needs. Will definitely dine here again if we are visiting the area.

Honestly just came in to the restaurant, not hungry, just looking for something to eat before watching a concert in the cathedral. I ordered risotto marinara tonight and I was surprised it's so good! I've been to Italy before and tried different restaurants and this one in Arundel is not a joke. Surprisingly good and filling. PS. This photo I took doesn't do justice, just give it a try.

Truly authentic Italian experience. The food was excellent and tasty. My father is not fond of pizza at all and said it was the best pizza he has ever had. We all had pasta for mains, and what a delicious meal, there terimasu is probably the best I have ever had. Will be back for pizza next time.

Perfect spot for lunch. We were recommended to try La Campania by a local shopkeeper, and he wasn’t wrong. This restaurant has all that you would want from an independent Italian restaurant. A good selection of dishes of generous portions, very pleasant staff, and a convivial atmosphere.

What a delightful restaurant. Never been before but will definitely return. The place is informally homespun but that's part of its charm. It represents a welcome alternative to the formulaic approach of the national chains.

Had been meaning to dine here for ages as had seen mentions on a vegan Facebook group. Had spent the weekend in London and didn't want to have to cook so swung by on way home. Thankfully managed to get a table. Very nice atmosphere with warm friendly service. Loved the vegan menu with some great options. I had the vegan meatballs with lovely pasta and superb sauce. Wife had the spicy bean style fillet with pasta and sauce served with some Mediterranean veg on the side. Fresh hot and all very tasty. Will certainly be back and I think will book next time as would love to bring my sons to enjoy as well. Thanks for a great first meal with you!!!!

From the moment you walk in you feel welcomed. Lovely and friendly restaurant with beautiful food. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Arundel. Also very reasonably priced with big portions! They have a vast vegan/ vegetarian menu too which was great for the vegans in our group to have so much choice.

Lovely venue and location but poor food. I had a carbonara which contained burnt bacon and not pancetta and the sauce just tasted of warm water and not eggy at all. My partner had tagliatelle prawn which had no flavour. Do not usually leave reviews...

We had a lovely evening here following a recommendation. You need to book as understandably popular. Food was great quality, good portions and we felt really good value.

This was our first visit to this lovely restaurant, and we have to say, we loved everything. We (3 of us) ordered from the set menu, which was very reasonably priced and a good selection of dishes. Each course was generous, very presented, and extremely tasty. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. We can recommend it and we're already planning our next visit.

We have recently moved to the Arundel area and thought we'd try this Italian restaurant. We weren't disappointed, such a lovely place. The atmosphere was great.....the food was amazing. Never had a bad meal here, the steak and fish nights are particularly good value but I would eat here any day.

Staying overnight in Arundel and this restaurant caught our eye. Turns out we were very lucky as we had the last table for 2 and others were turned away as they were fully booked. So phone ahead! Delicious food, quick service and good prices, although £6 for alcohol free beer meant I stuck with water!

Seriously good pizza. Good sauce and cheesy cheese. Had the Milanese and spaghetti for main and that was possibly even better. Really enjoy our food here. A big bottle of Peroni will set you back £8 though, the only downside to great food.

Great food and service was really good too, the only thing is it was quite busy and crowded, the tables and chairs have a rustic feel to them and the outside area at the back is kind of dirty and not nice to be in. We had been meaning to go to La Campania for some time - it was well worth the wait. We booked on line for Lunch- the online system suggests A La Carte is the only option when booking this way, but this is not the case so we opted for the fixed 1/2/3 course option. Absolutely fantastic, the menu was skilfully chosen to showcase all elements of the kitchen's capability and the portion sizes were more generous than we expected. Value for money- best I can recall in years, and certainly the best lunch value in Arundel. Looking forward to returning.

Had a great lunch here! Mussels were divine in a creamy sauce and served with plenty of chunky bread to mop it up with. This place serves super, home cooked, food and their tiramisu is wonderfully light and tasty. Definitely worth a visit!

Popped into this Family run Italian restaurant...we didn't book but they managed to accommodate us. Great meal felt very authentic..large portions so be careful if ordering a starter as well Would recommend this restaurant but would suggest booking as can be busy at peak times

Never have I been I silted and treated so rudely by the staff in this restaurant. At precisely 2.59 the bill was slapped on to our table and we were told to leave. We hadn’t even had desert or coffee. This dump brings a new meaning to closing at 3pm. Disgusting awful.

Absolutely wonderful. The smell of the food as you approach is just incredible. They managed to squeeze us in last minute and we were so glad they could. The menu is extensive and varied with so many options that all sound amazing. The food we ordered was delicious, served piping hot and good sized portions. The staff are very genuine and super friendly and knowledgeable. Go to La Campania, you will not be disappointed!
