We had delicious food at Bodega last night. We had to have tapas as two if us are pescatarian and all the fish mains (and one of the meat mains) were “off” , which was disappointing on a Friday night. Everything we had was good, though most of us avoided the sardines that smelled just a bit too fishy. Good wine too, and reasonably priced, but we missed having Spanish beer on draft. Services’s the weakest point. Willing but random. Only one person took orders which resulted in a lot of waits.

Traditional Spanish tapas, familiar, not fancy, all very tasty and good. Galicia Estrella in bottle was served cold. Staff attentive and good customer service. I will go back.

Great find just off portobello road. Great menu selection with delicious food. Staff very hospitable and it reminded me of holidays to Spain.

Our group of 10 friends met last night for a birthday dinner in La Bodega. I've eaten in La Bodega many times before (especially after the fantastic renovation to the interior which sadly isn't shown in the existing photos) and we had a wonderful meal. The service was attentive and helpful and the food was the best yet, succulent pulpo a l gallega (octopus), tasty serrano ham, steamed clams, tortilla (Spanish omelette) and a really delicious seafood paella to follow. The owner Antonio was welcoming as always and made sure we were well looked after. We sat inside as the weather was chilly but on warmer days it's nice to sit on outside and watch the world go by and soak up some sun, especially at the weekends on bustling market days. I would recommend for both large and small groups and the atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly. There's something for everyone on the menu and the wine list is good too!

Calamari had grit/sand on it and certainly tasted of the sea but unpleasant. Asked for a small pot of ailoli half way through the meal and it never came. Asked for a jug of tap-water and it never came. Paella was not with the proper rice with some scraps of bones as an excuse for chicken.

Stopped here for lunch hoping to enjoy Spanish tapas. Welcome was lukewarm at best (like they were doing us a favor by letting us eat there) and food was bland: pulpo alla gallega only tasted paprika, langostinas were just soaked in tasteless oil, … the only thing that had taste were the olives (probably because they don’t make them). All this at premium prices given how small the portions were. Will definitely not be back.

I was with my mum who came to visit from Spain and my partner. We went inside - the waiting staff were okay, however the food was awful. We ordered a paella and literally it was like having white rice at a Hospital - No flavour at all and the veggies that came with it weren’t great either. Definitely not coming back there. We were actually asked how the food was? And so, we were honest about it. The waiter just said oh really and left. There was no more interactions after that.

We had never been to this restaurant but had walked past it many times. We sat inside and found the staff and owner charming. They were so helpful and friendly and if we had a question they really went the extra mile. The food is freshly cooked. There are generous portions without being overly expensive. You can make it as expensive or cheap as you want with the Tapas being a great choice.

I would not say that I am a regular but I have had lunch or dinner in this tasca before. In this instance, my partner and I visited this tasca for lunch, probably the last time was in 2020, and the experience was not good. The place was very busy which is not unusual and the service was bad (staff ignored us, forgot bringing water after asking multiple times, etc). The food was not what I remembered; the albóndigas were not tasty, the croquetas de jamón was flour and not taste, and the rest of the food was very forgettable. Not what I expected. Sadly I probably will not repeat.

...the food is not as tasty as here. We ordered some calmar, pimentos, tapas brava, cheese, meat balls and a bottle of Verdejo. The food was surprisingly good and tasty. The service was ok, some did a very good job and there was unforunatley a no performer without any interest.

La Bodega de Issy RIP. New owners from next door restaurant so lost fabulous chef with amazing menu and wines. Now average tapas sadly. Soft gambas and overcooked pulpo. Mediocre wine list.

I had an fantastic meal at La Bodega de Issy, the croquetas were perfect, the octopus crispy on the outside and wonderfully tender inside, the service was impeccable, fast, friendly, efficient. You can tell they really know what they are doing, Isidoro has decades of very valuable experience and really turns hospitality into an exquisite craft. Very recommended!!

Walking up Portobello Road, my wife and I found this nice plaza with a promising Spanish restaurant. Awful experience. One hour waiting to get cold not tasty food. I went to the bar to get the water and the wine, which was so-so. Do not go.

Mexican food focused around tequila...in the west end of London, theatre land. A kitchen style Mexican with a range of tequilas I did not know existed. If in the area, it’s worth a cheeky visit...maybe even the late bar!

In the heart of Portobello sits La Bodega, a very typical Spanish restaurant bar. It is in a small square, so with good weather you can sit outside and enjoy your tapas and drinks while your kids, if you have them, play there. They offer menu of the day and a la carte menu, and a good choice of tapas and paellas. We had a seafood paella and it was delicious and a lot of food!

Unsure of why there are a lot of poor reviews. We went on a family visit yesterday and we felt very welcomed. The food was absolutely delicious, we had a lovely selection of tapas and two paella to share. The sangria was lovely too! Thank you!

Si vives en londres y necesitas un sitio en el que comer algo que te recuerde a tu pais este es tu sitio, ambiente español en un bar en el que puedes quedarte de pie en la barra y no como en los Pubs,productos españoles como el pulpo, calamares, patatas bravas, aquarius, colacao, cruzcampo, estrella galicia, jamon... todo un lujo, ademas de un trato inmejorable por parte del personal,y la posibilidad de ver TV en español, ir todas las semanas a ver el futbol es un autentico placer!

We'd been looking for authentic tapas in London and found this place while walking around Notting Hill. It really feels like a traditional Spanish restaurant. We ordered patatas alioli, croquettas with ham and croquettas with prawn, calamari and chorizo a la sidra. Every dish was delicious! The service was a little slow but if you're not in a rush, it's no problem. Will definitely be returning!

The place and surroundings are not the best, but the food is! Freshly made traditional Spanish food. This is the closest it gets to real Spanish food outside Spain. I recommend it 100%

Went there last Monday for lunch as we were in the area. Walked in to ask for menus, there was only one staff member - waitress/barmen behind the bar, who didn't greet us and looked extremely annoyed and irritated by our appearance, even though the place was empty. After asking for menus, again without any word being said, she slowly went to grab a few. We sat outside and I was sure there is no way she would come to take our order there, therefore, in order to place the order I went to the bar. She was washing some cups in the sink, looked at me and carried on doing it, I patiently waited until she finished. Unfortunately again had to experience her expression of contempt towards myself as a customer. Again, it seemed like she can't speak or just can't be bothered, literally just wrote down the order without any word leaving her mouth. Not all people can work in hospitality and it's definitely not a place for her. Have never experienced this kind of treatment from waiting staff in my life before.

Si estás en Nothin Hill es una buena opción, se come bien,precio normal en Londres y la carta está en español, cosa que se agradece si no controlas mucho el idioma, además la mayoría del personal es español. Llevamos una semana en Londres y hace dos días fuimos a ver el mercadillo famoso Portobello en Notthing Hill. Cuando vimos que había dos bares españoles nos lanzamos en picado porque teníamos ganas de probar la cerveza y las “tapas” de nuestra España pero he de decir que fue un fracaso absoluto: la camarera de la terraza una borde, las tapas requete bien pagadas aparte y en sí caro de narices. Atienden mejor a los guiris que a los españoles que lo frecuentan. Vamos una m*****! Tengo claro que si yo pusiese un negocio de ese estilo en un país extranjero no sería así ni de lejos. La esencia española es muy distinta de lo que tienen. Si no sabes, estate quiet@!

Todo mediocre salvo el rabo de toro. De entrada te ponen 2 vasitos de aceitunas (que te cobran por supuesto) sin pedirlas. Lo mismo hacen con el pan y la mantequilla.

El personal es maleducado y rotundamente irrespetuosos! Nos sentamos durante 20 minutos, pero nosotros en glancing camareros nos ignoraba. Finalmente, conseguimos echaron porque teníamos una mesa en nuestra propia y no preguntaron por dentro. La mitad de la terraza estaba vacía!

Visited 2 May 18. Waited over 15 mins for a drinks order, absolutely no acknowledgement. Food decent. Then waited OVER 30 mins for the bill!! The guy was awful.

Hemos estado en este restaurante hace algunos meses, y tengo que decir que no tengo nada malo que decir sobre ellos. Pero hoy, cuando decidimos ir allí para tomar una copa de vino y unas tapas, hemos sido "sirve" por el peor camarero que me he encontrado en mi vida!

Después de un paseo por el mercadillo de portobello nada mejor que degustar una estrella Galicia de barril y coronarse con un arroz caldoso de bogavante a un precio muy razonable teniendo en cuenta la localización del restaurante. No me gusta ser negativo o dar una crítica negativa, pero la camarera nos estropeó la experiencia culinaria. Hemos comido aquí en la Bodega antes y disfrutamos muchísimo, pero esta vez cuando la camarera vino a tomar nuestro pedido para bebidas después nos sentamos a la mesa; intenté ordenados uno de sus vinos de la casa. La camarera sólo sacudió su cabeza y dijo que no, así que intenté pedir un vino tinto de precio de £21. 50 dijo no no la tenemos después pedí una botella de Faustino tinto precio de £24. 50, la camarera compramos un precio de reserva Faustino £34. 50, que me negué ya que no habíamos pedido. Así que otra vez se la lista de vinos y pedí un Campo Viejo en £21. 50, que la camarera finalmente compró a la mesa. Cuando ella abrió la botella y procedió a verter el vino, ella dividido por la mesa y la botella por paquete y se fue. ; sin tanto como una disculpa. También intentamos pedir agua del grifo sobre cinco veces y finalmente nos trajeron dos botellas de agua de 2 libras. 00 aunque en la lista de precios fue razonable en £1. 95. Su actitud y el hecho de que seguían tratando de hacerme comprar una botella de vino más cara nos estropeó la experiencia culinaria. La comida estaba bien, pero después el camino de la camarera tenía buen comportamiento me dejó un mal sabor de boca y encima de todo hay una obligatoria 12. 5% de cargo por servicio. lo cual no creo que era justificable. Teníamos la opción de dos bares de tapas al lado de la otra, la próxima vez que visite Portobello Road vamos a elegir el otro.

I will never step into this place again in my life, despite being only 500 metres away from my house. I booked one table, showed up at the agreed time to find out it was full, no tables available! I was not offered anything and I had to leave and find another place. I have sent several complaints, no answer. I have been nice and patient with them, unfortunately I am afraid I would have needed to be rude to them in order to get any sort of excuse (or a glass of wine?).

Very disappointing thanking an HR train on New year's day with a party of 7 two of which senior citizens and found restaurant closed even though we had a confirmed booking. Never happened to us.

Sinceramente no las malas críticas que tiene este lugar. Es una auténtica joya. Mi familia proviene de Galicia, así que estoy bien acostumbrado a la auténtica comida como la que dieron ayer. Éramos un grupo de casi 40 personas (principalmente español o Latino con muy refinar paladares) y no podría haber ido mejor. Teníamos el uso exclusivo del restaurante, el servicio era genial, ponen música para nosotros y el personal era muy atento y el gerente que parecía muy contento con él mismo cuando todos los platos estaban completamente vacío.

Can't believe the poor reviews of this busy galician enclave in notting hill. I'm not spanish but found all the locals really friendly while drinking estrella and sampling nice bar snacks like tortilla. Great atmosphere.

This is the first review I write as I know what it means to work in a restaurant. At the beginning I didn’t even wanted to write it as this is about a small and private restaurant but the careless and the service we receive was so terrible that I actually got even nervous. My boyfriend (who is having diarrhoea at the moment) and I were welcomed without hospitality or kindness despite it was not busy (almost totally empty inside and outside only big tables which were already been served and at least three waitresses plus the manager/owner). We decided to eat there anyway, by choosing four sea Tapas (two sea salads, one hot octopus and one portion or fried calamari). Everything was with paprika, I hate paprika and Just could not enjoy the meal (it was not written on the menu that they were served with paprika!). But it’s ok, I am not gonna complain about paprika. Then I found a fish bone in my mouth (I don’t even know where it came from as what we took was not supposed to have bones- I was only eating octopus and the sea salad which only came with mussels, clams and octopus). Alright, it may happen (but the waiter should have advice us about this chance!!!). Ten we ate the calamari. Awful as everything else, fried in at least one week oil!! I didn’t eat them at all, my boyfriend only two cause he was hungry. But then, the most awful thing was that MUSSELS WERE TOTALLY ROTTEN. What would have happen if we actually ate them for mistake, if we didn’t notice that? Guys please consider that now we’re both still hungry and with stomach ache. I just asked for the bill (I still wanted to pay, and we did, I actually had the chance to met many people who complained for nothing only because they didn’t want to pay), and when the waiter (after 10 minutes) came, there was also the owner of the restaurant present at the door and I looked at both of them telling them “hey guys, could I tell you something?” AND AS I STARTED TALKING THE OWNER JUST LEFT! the waiter apologised and told us that he would have spoken with his manager. he took off the plates so we couldn’t take pictures later when we decide to review this awful experience. we left the money on the plate and when he came he just took the money without saying anything but “sorry guys”. I got so nervous that I decided to download this app and to write the first bad review in my life. The most awful experience I even had. I just hope I will be good today. Please guys IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR HEALTH DON’T GO.

Entramos, ni un hola siquiera. Nos sentamos nosotros mismo donde quisimos porque habia bastante sitio libre, dos camareras que parecian no tener ni idea de hacer bien su trabajo.

Visitamos un auténtico almuerzo español, recibimos un servicio pobre, nuestra mesa era la mesa sucia, la comida se sirve en vajilla desconchada y uno de nuestros platos sin cocer. Extremadamente Decepcionado

we are local residents just 2 minutes walk and albeit nothing wrong with food the service is the worst thing ever ,we have been a a lot of times in the last 2 years at least once a month but the last 3 times the service has gone downhill very badly ,we haven't paid service charge last times because of this ,the reason being the service is to slow and the manager doesn't give a f..... about customers ,the waiters charge things on bill that we haven't ordered,so the reason I'm writing is because the last time as we won't be returning we sat down on a sunday afternoon and we got attended with menus after we sat down for 15 minutes and then we ordered drinks to 2 different people and then other tables got sat down and they got their drinks served straight away ,we waited agin for another 15minutes to this point we decided to leave ,awe cancelled our order of food but they didn't seem to care to loose our business ,I guess tables of 2 are not their concern

Este lugar tiene un ambiente agradable, con un montón de gente española siempre es una buena señal. La comida es regular aunque. Teniendo en cuenta el entorno. La comida y el ambiente puede ser ignorada.

Los camareros eran amigables y amables. La atención fue rápida. Pedimos papas bravas, croquetas de jamón y de gambas, albóndigas y calamares. Sin embargo el pan estaba duro y las croquetas no estaban buenas. Un vaso de jugo de naranja fue £2,50. Todo ello y tres Coca Colas diet costó £40 (con el 12% gratuity incluido). Me pareció muy caro. Mi opinión es que si se quieren permitir el lujo de cobrar 40£ por 5 tapas y dos bebidas normales es inaceptable que pongan el pan duro y las croquetas de esa consistencia. Tienen que mejorar o bajar el precio, una de dos.

We ate here on a warm summer evening and all of the outside tables were taken, so we sat inside beside a party group in a jovial mood. The TV was showing a football match and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly even when football fans invaded to watch and cheer their team. The food was good, but not special. We underestimated the number of tapas dishes we wanted to share first time then overestimated, so left lots! We also shared an OK bottle of Rioja.

Después de cuatro días de vacaciones en Londres, este fue el peor restaurante en el que comimos. Toda la comida recalentada. En la tapa de pimientos del piquillo con morcilla, casi se me rompe una muela con la típica grapa de acero que une las morcillas. Lo que venden como solomillo de cerdo con pimiento, es en realidad cinta de lomo más dura que una suela de zapato de tanto recalentarla. El rabo de toro no se lo comerían ni los perros. Lo único que estaba regular, los chipirones en salsa. A todo esto hay que sumar la falta de higiene que se respiraba en el ambiente y la falta de profesionalidad de los camareros (discutían entre ellos, se equivocaban con las comandas). En resumen, un sitio para no ir jamás.

Justo a la hora de cenar se apareció la Bodega, al final de Portobello. Cenamos bien 5 adultos y 6 niños por 120£. Los chicos sobre todo agradecieron las croquetas y la tortilla

Terrible attitude we were having lunch for my birthday with a couple of friends, first of all It was a mission impossible to get our order due to language barrier! The waiter did not speak even a word of English, which even if it gives the place a certain Spanish colour, on the other hand reduced the communication to our body language! It is definitely something unbelievable considering the fact that you are supposed to have lunch in the middle of London! Second of all, this place is characterised by the rudeness of their staff! We finished our meal and paid for it and I personally was finishing my beer and one on the waiter in a very clumsy English kicked us out saying: go away I need the table! Terrible attitude! Never again!

Was ignored for around 10 minutes by waitresses when trying to get a table. Just a minute is not appropriate more than twice. I left. There are other more attentive eateries nearby. Plain Rudeness is not acceptable.

I have been here a few times and the food has always been delicious. It can be difficult to get a table outside but we have always managed to.The food is truly spanish, octopus is just amazing, and there is always a nice atmosphere in the little square. Always a good experience and we'll be back soon.

Wouldn't eat here again if you paid me. Which is a pity as their peppers stuffed with black pudding are, like some of their other tapas, perfectly acceptable. The food is ok but I have never seen such a bad service in my life. 3 people working, the restaurant almost empty and still needed to wait 20minutes for my bill. Needed to wait long time between tapas and very rude staff. There are better places in London.

Wouldn't eat here again if you paid me. My husband and I ate here today for an early dinner. I had the aubergine gratinada and the peppers stuffed with bacalao. My husband got the oxtail. The tapas are fairly priced IMO but the mains a bit pricier. We had no drinks. We were greeted with a friendly arrival and seated promptly and menus came quickly as well. But here it got kinda weird because a brunette waitress that gave us olives for the table seemed really offended that we didn't want them and asked for them to be taken away. She then became short with us whilst taking our orders. Anyway the food came quickly and I thought mine were quite good. The aubergine was appropriately cheesy and the texture was perfect: creamy and soft. The two peppers were overstuffed with bacalao which was very savoury. Overall a good stop in the area but the waitress' attitude was a turnoff.

Un tapas bar spagnolo gestito da spagnoli e frequentato da spagnoli.Atmosfera informale tipicamente iberica in zona Notting Hill.Ho assaggiato solo il "pulpo a feira" per fare uno spuntino con una birra, e devo dire che l'ho trovato migliore di tanti che ho mangiato in Spagna. Se capiterò ancora in zona cercherò di fermarmi a mangiare qualcosa in più perchè tutto cò che ho visto passare era di bell'aspetto.

The food was authentic Tapas of OK quality, nothing special. The miserable, odd -looking waitress had a serious attitude problem and had trouble speaking and understanding English. After simply asking in plain English if our remaining 2 dishes were on the way, she made me repeat myself twice before she decided to actually listen to what I was saying. From then on she started giving obvious attitude and dirty looks. I was still finishing my drink and it was obvious that there was drink remaining, but she still asked if she could take the glass! I said no and once again she gave me a dirty look and obvious attitude!After that I decided to completely blank her so she would avoid our table. This worked and she left us alone after that! However, the waiter who took over also didn't speak or understand English very well and my friend is still waiting for the second beer he ordered!I think this is a place for spanish speaking people only or for gullible tourists, so I would recommend you avoid this place.

Truly disappointing visit. All dishes ranged from poor to bad. We were hungry but still find it hard to finish our food. Quite sad.

Tapas en terrasse un samedi ensoleillé à notting Hill c'est top. Les plats sont généreux, relativement bon marché. La sangria y est très Bonne.Le personnel est plus ou moins accueillant mais bon.

Good selection of authentic tapas with real atmosphere. Very popular with Spanish expats. Owned and run by Spanish staff. Ideal to visit here for lunch after a walk through Portobello market. Can sit out on a fine day.
