The most amazing place for a party! My daughter had her birthday party with 40 friends at the restaurant and it was brilliant! The weight is sensational, and the food is delicious. The restaurant really went out of its way to make our evening so special.!!!

The staff were abrupt, particularly the manager and it honestly made us feel unwelcome. Was very disappointed with the food. Having lived in Spain for 14 years, I know what quality Spanish food is like. This I’m afraid was not good quality. Sadly much was deep fried and not authentic. I would definitely avoid this restaurant.

I absolutely recommend it because we loved the food, we felt like we were at home and the service was very pleasant. We ordered croquettes, patatas bravas, taco salad, bull tail and tortilla.

Food was superb and service very good. But it was too noisy. The tables are close together and the noise spoilt the meal to some extent. Given we paid £200+ per head this was not satisfactory.

We visited here for the first time recently and throughly enjoyed our experience. The staff, from greeting us, to the moment we left, were pleasant, friendly and attentive. We’re big fans of tapas and while some of the dishes on the menu were perhaps a little different to what we’re used to, we loved every dish we had and our experience here was faultless. The area and surroundings of where the restaurant is, is lovely and the restaurant itself is great throughout. There was a good atmosphere within the restaurant and given how busy the inside and outside was, the service was excellent and wait time for the food was good. There is a good selection of dishes on the menu and everything is priced as you would probably expect given the area you are in. A great meal overall, at a great restaurant. It’s somewhere we would highly recommended and look forward to visiting again upon our next visit to London.

Fantastic for a summer lunch on the streets of London

The tapas especially the vegetable dishes are my favourites, and I am not the biggest fan of vegetables. The basque cheesecake is a must, I can’t stop raving about it.

Food was good but service was a little bit slow. We waited more than 30 minutes for the main course.

I very rarely comment, but today it seems important to do so here. I have been a customer of this restaurant for several years and must admit to being particularly disappointed by my recent dinner. I will not dwell on the cuisine, but would especially like to emphasize the quality of the service, which was particularly deplorable. Being refused an order because customers have an allotted time to dine is inconceivable to me. The restaurant manager chose to respond to our astonishment with contempt and arrogance. The owner didn't seem surprised by this behavior either. Reading other comments, it appears that this is now house policy. I strongly advise against this restaurant. There are much better options in the area, cheaper and above all much more respectful.

The food was great but I have never experienced service like it, from the waitress we had being incredibly rude, to the manager having a stand off with my mother I’m not sure how to ever get over it and return to what used to be one of my favourite restaurants. The waitress didn’t only speak back and act super offensive but she also told my sister to F..k off as she left the restaurant. No ok at all

One of my favourites in London . It was meant to be a special evening with my family . Unfortunately one individual made sure it was not .. we were served by a rude , dismissive , vile waitress . Being in hospitality myself and dined all over the world , you don’t experience worse . While ordering our main tapas she reminded us we need to leave table at a certain time and she will check the time . My daughter politely addressed her rude and dismissive behaviour , waitress was patronising and sarcastic in return . We then asked for manager and the owner came to our table . The waitress at this stage was laughing behind him at my daughter . He then proceeded to tell us that she is his best waitress . My daughter decided to leave and go home and on her way out the waitress told her to f… off ! The mind boggles . Never again .

The food is consistently good, the raw materials are excellent and always fresh. The wine list is refreshingly extensive , only Spanish. Prices are fair and offer an extensive range of high quality and unusual Spanish wines. Service is both attentive and knowledgable. Atmosphere is lively and authentic. An truly enjoyable evening

Cambio de Tercio is London's quintessential Spanish tapas restaurant. You can find wonderful plates that will appeal to your taste from start to finish in the menu. I especially recommend you to try their special plates and good wine recommendations.

Great atmosphere and food taste. Loved it

The service was good and the food looked special. However, their food made me sick and gave me diarrhoea. I suspect it was the prawn taco. Unfortunately, the food didn’t taste as good as it looked and was extremely overpriced for the awful quality. Even the bread and croquettes were soggy! There were no Spaniards eating there when we visited. Unsurprisingly, as the food didn’t resemble good Spanish food. The wine was good. Overall a bad experience. I do not recommend it. There are better Spanish restaurants in London.

Tapas turned into fine dining so loses it soul to linen tablecloths. Excellent ingredients and cooking, but didn't see hearty favourites like Chorizo in wine, chicken wings and didn't see an egg at all (this is Spanish, no 🥚?). I'm not going to complain about the prices as it's in Kensington and the cheapest White wine was excellent. Sooo noisy in there, needs something to dampen the echoes. Waiter barely understood English unfortunately (fine if actually eating in Spain). I wanted this to be Tippy Tapa, Malborough or a family-run feel like I've had in Spanish cities and countryside. Sorry. Hope this helps.

This is a nice place with good food. The service and organisation is not as good as it should be - slightly chaotic. It's also very noisy when it is busy. Finally, I'd say the price point is higher than the quality.

We love the variety of tapas, especially the baked avocado! Wine selection is terrific too!

This was our second visit to this buzzing place. We had a lovely welcome( in Spanish) as we arrived and were escorted to our table. We ordered the recommended 3 tapas per person which arrived as they were ready : leeks( divine), patatas bravas( a work of art), croquettas, razor clams, padron peppers and salmon nigiri( fabuloius, crispy and with a tasty sauce). We were not rushed and all of the tapas were delicious and all the staff friendly and helpful. There is an extensive wine list of Spanish wines at a range of prices, though starting at 'reasonable'. When we went to leave, the gentleman shook me by the hand and gave us a cheery goodbye. We will be back. As this place gets busy it would be best to book.

This is a lovely restaurant, frequented by well heeled Spanish ex pats. The service is exceptional. We had two super professional Spanish ladies looking after us with smiles and good cheer. The food is delicious. I have not given it an overall 5* simply because it is very expensive, and the food is extremely rich. It reminded me of classic French food served many decades ago. Amazing, but a little dose of green salad or plain something would have helped.

I booked a table 3 hours before the actual dinner time. I called 20 minutes later to inform the restaurant that I actually needed to cancel the booking due to an unforeseen change of plans. I was told it was too late to alter the booking, irrespective of the fact that it had only been made a few minutes earlier, and would be charged GBP50 per person. Total ripoff.

Above expectations. Food well executed, creative but not too much. Service excellent and attentive. Only disappointed I did not visit earlier having moved to the local area two year ago!

Fabulous tapas. Leeks were delicious with 2 sauces. Croquettas excellent, patatas bravas are a work of art and the salmon nigiri was deliciously crisp with a great sauce. Extensive and reasonably-priced Spanish wine list. Lovely welcome and 'goodbye' with all staff being very pleasant and helpful. You must book as this place is buzzing!

Even though we specifically stated that there was no place to sit around and that the weather was cold, we were told very rudely to come on time because the place was completely empty. Rules are important but this was the rudest behavior we have ever seen. Especially the attempt to shout and rush out was very rude. We had to wait because we could cancel with a penalty of 50 GBP per person, but I think it would be more logical to cancel by paying 50 GBP per person. quality and performance was the worst experience so far. The service quality and plate contents were quite poor.

When we sat down the atmosphere was very dark and loud, so we weren’t comfortable. The food was very bad,especially when compared to the prices. The shrimp was undercooked and not cleaned and the sea bass was way too oily. We will definitely not visit again and wouldn’t suggest anyone to go either.

Lovely restaurant..staff was helpful, inviting, and steered us to the perfect amount of food! Menu selections were terrific … must return to try other dishes! I was disappointed with the cancellation policy as my partners daughter was sick but I was going to be charged £100 if I didnt attend so will not book again

My review may not represent the food so much as the awful situation of pairing the restaurant with OpenTable, which caused us to spend £250 at the restaurant for Valentine's Day. It was a cruel tactic and unfair to people like me who can't even get enough food to cover the bill as I can't drink alcohol. After booking the table, we were never notified of the particular clause, which I couldn't find on the confirmation SMS. Making the order, which was around £150, including alcohol for my wife, we were notified that we hadn't ordered enough as our minimum order needs to be at least £250. Talking to the manager didn't help as he said it was our fault for accepting the terms on OpenTable, and if we left, they would charge £250 for my card. The point is that you cannot order enough food for the bill to be 250 as I don't drink, and we were forced to take two bottles of wine, which I can't even consume. Instead of helping us resolve the situation, they only made it worse by being slow with the bill, and after we specified that we wouldn't spend more than £250, they still brought a bill with gratuity for £264. As you can understand by now, the day was ruined as the atmosphere and the experience of this place.

The minimum spend was so high that more than half the people dining at the restaurant had to buy bottles of wine and bring them back home. Poor form.

Trapped in restaurant and forced to pay or get charged despite ordering no food if we decide to leave. We had a very disappointing experience at Cambio De Tercio which ruined Valentine's Day dinner. I was aware of a £50 per person no-show fee upon booking, a common practice in the city, and agreed to it without expecting any complex conditions which were not clearly communicated. I don’t know about you but I never thought I would have to worry about terms and conditions when booking a normal tapas restaurant that isn’t even fully booked out. However, upon our arrival at 9:15 pm, despite seeing many empty tables, we were informed about a £125 minimum spend per person, an unwelcome surprise since we weren't planning to spend that much. When we expressed our concerns, the response was inflexible. Despite my calm approach to the conversation, the manager escalated it to an argument. The manager insisted on the terms and conditions, which I hadn't scrutinized, assuming they only related to no-shows and cancellations. This lack of transparency regarding the minimum spend and the rigid enforcement without consideration for customer satisfaction was disheartening, especially on a special occasion like Valentine's Day. The suggestion to buy an expensive bottle of wine to meet the minimum spend showed a lack of empathy and willingness to find a reasonable solution. All in all this whole experience left a horrible taste in my mouth and would recommend showing a bit of human understanding instead of hiding behind terms and conditions.

I don’t understand the good reviews. I am a food lover and go to Spain alot but this place had poor quality food, very expensive for what it is. I think you pay for the location and not for the food. the staff was nice but won’t go back.

Spanish tapas place in London. Popular place and it was fully packed. I loved the 8 hours tomatoes, but as Spanish resident, I thought the Iberian ham was too dry/tough and the patatas bravas looked original, but tasted processes. Fantastic wine offering.

Great food with some interesting changes in the menu

The churros with chocolate and the sea bream starter were very good. The ham croquettes and the bread with tomato are also ok. The potato omelet surprised me at how bad it was and very expensive at 16 pounds. Terrible. Dry at the ends and flavorless. We also ordered an oxtail and lamb bagel in plain sauce. The super sugary cheesecake with blue cheese. The Basque cake is with cream cheese. Overall and with the price we paid I would not recommend it. Very good service, very friendly and attentive.

Enjoyed the whole experience, interesting dishes, very good service, competitively priced. We'll visit again.

The three restaurants - Cambio de Tercio, Tendido Cero and Capote y Toros are all excellent. Cambio is the 'high end' restaurant, and the food is excellent, as it is at the other two - the menus at Tendido and Cambio share a number of dishes. I prefer the atmosphere and relative informality of Tendido, but that is a personal preference. All are excellent.
