Kutum Bari in Birmingham

Food is tasty but the portion sizes on takeaways can be an absolute joke, routinely half filled and this place is not cheap…

We were staying in the local area and the choice of close by eateries was poor to say the least. Well until we found this delight on good old TripAdvisor! If you're in Birmingham you have to have a curry, right??? We were starving and got there eat around 6pm, it was packed! So all looked good. Fresh popadoms were swiftly devoured along with the red sauce! Wow, what is that stuff? But it's amazing. My mixed jalfrazi was just stunning! The nan bread hot and tasty. Every mouthful was a delight. Well done guys, had a great evening and hope to be able to come back again

We loved this place but everything has gone down hill. The sauces for the poppadoms were only a 3rd full and there not crisp. The nann has shrunk and lacked flavour. The chicken dish had less chicken in it than a vegans fridge.

Used to be a regular here. Resturant has gone downhill. Waiting ages for average food. No draft cobra anymore. Car park is shocking huge pot holes everywhere. Won't return again

I'd give 0* if I could. Waited an hours, for was cold and burnt to a crisp. Biriyani was clearly the bottom of the pot. Daahl tasted like water And the poppadoms were turned to a crisp The lot of it was tasteless and cold.

Used to frequent this place, bout once a month, and my wife even more so with her ex work friends. Last time here the Sunday buffet was cold and some of the plates were empty. I get they do get filled up, but on a more concerning note the car park is an absolute disgrace, the pot holes are tyre shredders, and my thoughts are if you can’t maintain your parking, what does it say about your care of customers. I made a point of speaking to someone in the car wash, who said it was the restaurants land, but however, neither will get our custom anymore due to the lack of empathy towards customers

Work night at Holiday Inn, Found this place on just eat and what a find. Starter was a lovely bit of Sea Bass Biran. Juicy fish, didn't last long. Had the mixed tikka Jhali Baltic as a main. Nice bit of spice and so flipping tasty. Chapati was not as large as I'm used to. When I'm back in the area, this is first on my list

Very Poor. 1hr 15min wait for starter, 20 mins for mains, room was sooo cold. Food average, meats bulked out to look more.

Service was very slow, waited an hour for starters, mains were tasteless and luke warm and not a lot of it, 12 of us went bill was over £400, definitely won't be going back very disappointed.

Salimos a comer con nuestros amigos después de las críticas positivas en TripAdvisor. Desafortunadamente no tuvimos una buena experiencia. Tuvimos una reserva temprana a las 5 pm y fuimos la 2a mesa allí, pero esperamos casi una hora y media para nuestra comida llegar! ¡Parecía que la prioridad era sacar comida para llevar que era mucho! Los niños estaban impacientes y hambrientos, logramos conseguir sus platos antes pero luego tuvieron que esperar a que los adultos comieran sus alimentos. Mezclaron los entrantes y se olvidaron de los cubiertos con la red! Camarero dejó caer un plato y cubiertos, la comida continuó dos de nosotros no recibió disculpas! El servicio fue un desastre

Spent Christmas day afternoon here. We were a party of 16 and the staff were extremely accommodating. The food was amazing and what moved my 4* to a 5* for Atmosphere was the entertainment, the lady singer was amazing, great voice, great engagement and a great evening had by all, thanks Team Kutum Bari. You nailed it.

Best paneer makhani and aloo palak I've ever had. I've only been here a few times but every dish I've had here has such a lovely sweetness to it - every flavour feels so perfectly balanced. Wonderful place to eat for a vegetarian, and I absolutely will be returning again multiple times!

I travelled down from Edinburgh to see my family. We decided to go to Kutum Bari for a meal as we had been there last time I was in Birmingham, back in February, and then we had had a great meal. This latest visit was just as good as last time. Great food, great service, a pleasure to spend time there. Thanks again for a brilliant evening. I'm looking forward to my next trip 😀👍👍

Got a takeaway from there cost £30 wasnt worth the money the food wasnt good at all wont be going back there again

From the moment we walked in the staff were really amazing, my little one was crying so they offered sweets and gave a ice cream with our starters we had lamb chops complimentary, then another surprise they brought out chicken nuggets with chips for the lil one and it didn’t stop there got a free glass of coke & to finish off we both got ice cream. I have even mentioned how the food was. Starters were amazing mains were just as good. Overall think it was a dream visit we had Amazing night out. Thank you to the staff.

Ordered takeaway- shashlik bhuna- which was just a couple of bits of chicken and pepper in a tray of oil. The pepper was soft and slimey. Not a great experience and it definitely wasn't eaten. I did e-mail them but had no reply. I won't be ordering again.

In the area for a NEC Car Show. Chose to eat here completely randomly because it was nearby on Google maps. What a stroke of luck. By far, it is the best sit-down Indian that I have had. The food was absolutely lovely and the staff tastefully attentive. Also very reasonably priced. The little hospitality touches once you have finished your meal are fantastic. If you're in the area and fancy a curry, I really couldn't recommend this place any more.

Sadly staff do not speak or understand much english it took me over 3 minutes for them to understand my drink order and it was only lager and lime. They had no lime. Starter was lovely, 1 samoa chatt and 1 shish kebab main my husband had lamb madras this was awfull he has had hotter korma i had lamb bhuna no taste and meat was size of a penny we had 2 beers each and it cost £72 !!! NEVER AGAIN

Lovely friendly staff great food

Me and the mrs tried this restaurant for the first time today. Excellent customer service and attention to detail. The food was very flavoursome and authentic. The management even gave us complimentary poppadoms and a main dish to try. I will be returning again as throughly enjoyed the food.

As for Bangladeshi restaurant, this is the best I tried so far. Tasty food, great stuff etc. Highly recommended if you like south Asian cuisine.

Amazing food, very cooperative staff, The waiter who served us his name was Mushid, he was very cordial, and his suggestions for food was amazing! LOVED the place and has parking!

Just like to say a big thank you to the lovely staff at Kutum Bari, the food was superb every dish was piping hot and packed with flavour it's the nicest curry we've had in quite a while, we will definitely be coming back and with more of our friends, thank you for our tasty meal xx

Food is fantastic and great staff

Great on every level. Welcoming and accommodating, good space between courses and didn't feel rushed as I have in other places, Was very busy in big room and sat in back room which was so comfy and was able to be comfortable and talk to each other. Clean and beautiful setting and food was lovely and service from staff was on point 190 percent will defo eat there again and was reasonably priced. The lamb balti and roti and pilau rice was so good Myself and friend had such a great time. Sadly didn't take any photo's was too much excited to eat every course.😁 🙏👏👏👏💜

Lovely meal and do many other delicious-looking choices that I want to go back and try something else

It has been a couple of years since my last trip to Birmingham, but when I knew I would be in town I knew at least one meal that had to happen. I first discovered this gem of a restaurant in 2018, and over the course of a week enjoyed it 3 times. Since then, being in Birmingham means the requisite trip to Kutum Bari. The food is always excellent, plentiful, prepared with care and attention, and served by a staff that takes pride in it. It is the best Indian I have had this side of Delhi or Lucknow, and I always try some old favorites along with something new. This time I invited 6 friends along, and they saw just how special this little restaurant in Marston Green is. If you are in the area attending an event at the NEC, you should try it. I am sure you will agree it is an experience you will want to repeat often.

Amazing Restaurant!!! Went there today For my sister's birthday It was really nice the atmosphere was good The stuff was friendly .We had to waiter Named norul he was smiling and really looked after us he made us feel really special his service was 10/10 and at the end of our meal he gave us some complimentary desert my sister and her friend they said the really want to go back just for him lol Keep up the good work guys!

Takeaway only, but having eat here several times I can honestly say this is probably the best Indian restaurant for miles around.

Staff rude, I left a small square of Naan bread and was told off for waste. They charge an extra £5 per plate if you leave anything! No popadoms, you had to pay extra. No Chutney No Mint Yogurt left Puddling was dry, no cream or ice cream and the smallest amount of chocolate sauce on the waffles. We went for a birthday on a Sunday and had the Buffett, Presentation wasn’t great food ran out quickly and not replaced. I would not come back or recommend this place again.

Staff are always friendly and attentive. Food is always great quality and a great range of vegetarian options as they offer Quorn alternative.

Every time I attend a NEC Conference, I bring my colleagues and clients to Kutum Bari. Rarely to do i revisit restaurants where i have not been let down, The food, service and ambience is excellent and the staff will accommodate even the fussiest of diners, An excellent beverage menu is available, and the portion sizes are generous. A long and varied menu of Asian cuisine is available, but the special dinner menu is always great value. I have tried many Asian restaurants in Birmingham, but Kutum Bari remains my favorite and I always look forward to return for a veritable feast beautifully served. Highly recommended

What a fantastic dining experience this was. It was so good I can’t believe we’ve never chosen to eat here before! Booked a table on a busy Saturday evening and it’s easy to understand why this place attracts so many people. Will definitely be returning, thanks for the great service.

I can honestly say this is by far the best curry house in the area by a mile. I had the the Tandoori mixed grill and the taste of the meat was delicious along with the garlic naan cooled to perfection. to add to the food the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice. i will definitely be returning and will be recommending to my family amd friends, you wont be dissapointed. After visiting the area for over 12 years, finding this restaurant was a total delight. We were greeted on a Friday night, no booking and were made to feel very welcome. Looking around, families, couples and friends were all enjoying a relaxed environment. The staff were friendly, respectful and attentive as needed. The meal was beautiful, then the surprises started, a small piece of a chocolate cake with ice cream, a chocolate liqueur over ice, then a tray with small sweets, hard boiled fruits, mini marshmallows and sherbet flying saucers, what a surprise and welcome treat. The prices for the meal and drinks were excellent. All in all, if you want a beautiful meal and experience, then Kutum Bali is the place to visit, you won't be disappointed. I understand that on Sunday's a buffet meal is served. Take a peak at their website, for menu and diets catered for. 'Bon appetit'

This is a first class restaurant with a very comprehensive menu serving excellent food. The staff were extremely helpful and very good. Well worth a visit if you are in this area.

Staying locally while visiting a conference at the NEC. This place got great reviews so I picked it for dinner - and couldn’t be more pleased. Great food, with interesting choices, and service was excellent. I would definitely go again if back at the NEC.

Made a order on line tonight .for a tandoori mixed grill ....collected myself as really looking forward to a l lovely meal........the quality of food was shocking ....wasted petrol there and bk to only have to ask for a full refund .no dinner Got home to big disappointment lack of meat customer service stinks ...also told me got wait 24 hours for my money back £16.00 avoid at all cost or be very disappointed ☹️ rude customer service shocking .

Visitors to the NEC area and Kutumbari was a google find! Great to find parking outside too. Amazing food all round. Poppadoms and naan as light as a feather! Super attentive service from Rana! Definitely would recommend and will revisit next time we’re up at the NEC. Thank you!

Absolutely amazing food. Easily the best restaurant I've eaten at in a long time and will definitely be returning. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful and the food is reasonably priced and delicious. One waiter even took a photo of me and my husband under the balloon arch 🥰 If you get the chance to go I highly recommend you do, you'll be glad you did

Highly recommended. A large group of us went for dinner at Kutum Bari and we were all thrilled. The food was excellent and good value for money, the staff was welcoming and attentive to our different needs and requirements, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming - even on a Monday night. AND the manager surprised us at the end of the meal with a nice drink. Such good style and such good food. Don't hesitate to go there.

I have not once before left a review for any restaurant but had to break that habit for Kutum Bari. Dinner last week with 11 friends was fantastic. The service and food were excellent, as was the value for money. What a wonderful Monday night!

Delicious food, good value for money and great service from the team. We were made to feel very welcome. We were a group of 15 but orders were taken quickly and food arrived with little waiting time.

Travelled down from Edinburgh for a family reunion. 12 family members ranging from 10 years old to 72. Everyone cleared their plates of food. Why? Because it was so delicious. Not a scrap was left. Great customer service, food was just average for me. It's not as flavoursome as the Indian restaurants from where we live. No bottled beer either, there should be more of a choice on what to drink.

First time delivery order as recommended by the Air bnb we were staying in. We ordered a range of dishes which were delivered promptly. All the food was fresh, hot and delicious. Would definitely recommend.

The mixed grill was one of the best I have ever had. The meat was cooked to perfection and was incredibly flavorful. The tandoori chicken was particularly delicious. The mixed grill also came with a variety of chutneys and dips, which were all very tasty. The service at Kutum Bari was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they made sure that we had everything we needed. They were also very knowledgeable about the menu, and they were able to make recommendations based on our preferences. The atmosphere at Kutum Bari is relaxed and inviting. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, and the lighting is dim and intimate. This makes it a great place to go for a special occasion or for a romantic evening. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Kutum Bari. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian meal.

We visited this establishment on Saturday 2nd December as we had been recommended to do so by family and friends. We were given a table in a small alcove which was nice and private, but unfortunately very cold which would have been an problem but the manager Norr got us a heater which made all the difference. The staff were all friendly, never pushed to get our order, let us take our time and we’re constantly checking on us so we were never left waiting for food or drinks. This was our first time here and it was a pleasant and enjoyable experience and will certainly go back. The food was tasty, hot and good value for money.

We have just had our works Christmas party here and it was fantastic. The food was top notch, the staff couldn’t do enough for you and the atmosphere was great. Would definitely go here again.

Well we have just had the works Christmas party at Kutum Bari the weekend. They closed of the main room for us, and couldn’t of want for more, the staff were there and got whatever we want straight away, no waiting around for anything, they couldn’t do enough for us, the food was fantastic, Nicki J was there as well singing but also got people involved doing a bit of karaoke, everyone from our company Heidelberg Materials was really impressed and are already saying they’d love it to be back there again next year. I can’t recommend Jay, Mushi and the rest of the Kutum Bari team highly enough.

Best Curry house that I've ever eaten in. Seriously great food and service. It was good when we visited in 2022, so we thought we would visit again. Its fantastic! We will definitely be back.
