Inedible, cold, tasteless food. Nothing exciting or remotely interesting about eating at this place. About as boring as can be. Food hygiene rating is only 3 out of 5.

Unfortunately this was a waste of money! Stale, tasteless and old food. Ran out of options, lettuce that was like five days old, broccoli that was brick hard. We won’t be coming back here. Don’t waste your money.

Food not fresh or hot. It all tastes like it’s been sat there all day and been reheated multiple times. I didn’t think you could mess up chips or noodles - they take minutes to make but even they were warm and dry. There isn’t much for vegetarians, that is edible any way. No customer service when you walk in. You have to pay for your food on entry so you can’t get your refund when you taste such horrific food. And then pay for your drinks at the ‘bar’. The best bit was the profiteroles, which were brought in so you can’t really mess them up? But there isn’t much chocolate on them… thank god for the chocolate fountain. Curly black hair, looked like a pube on the jelly and the tiny cuts of cheesecake so didn’t try any of those. The chairs are even really uncomfortable to sit on. The worst part - the wafting of sewage, at times, pure poo when eating. No idea where it was coming from but not pleasant. Amazed this place hasn’t shut down. It’s only a matter of time which is a shame as it’s potential could be huge but it’s shockingly bad. Overall, Just avoid. For what you pay, you could go somewhere much nicer and at least get decent food and a smile from the staff.

They take payment first so once you start eating there terrible food they refuse you a refund. We complained twice and they couldn't even understand what we where saying. Then just avoided our table completely. The food was awful and literally all luke warm. The puddings had clearly been sat there all weekend as well. AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!

Perfect place to go to for room temperature food and water. Food was a major let down, tasted like it had been sat there all day. Definitely wouldn’t go again.

Went for a meal before the cinema. Had one small plate of food and found my chicken wing was Raw chicken pink inside! Staff didn’t care much removed my plate once I mentioned it. Rest of the food wasn’t great either. Not worth the money! Made a complaint manager wouldn’t speak to us, offered us a £5 voucher! Why would I go back! Never again.

Arrived when doors opened got food but yet again cold , I emailed saying it was going to be a birthday lunch for my wife and hoping it wasn’t going to be cold but no reply to 3 emails , this was the last ever visit unless I want some cold food, I’m afraid all the negative reviews are true , such a shame , my suggestion don’t bother you’ll waste your money and write one of these, I did give them the chance to reassure me but they couldn’t be bothered, maybe I’ll start to listen to reviews

Been here a few times but lately the food is cold or not topped up empty dishes it seems old food not fresh the whole place just feels dirty.

A lot of the food was not hot and some of it (the sushi, sliced spring onions and the egg fried rice particularly) were so dry they looked like they had been sat out for a day (we arrived just after they opened). The little signs showing allergy /dietary restriction info are a great idea but the detail is so tiny (and on some, so faded) that they're difficult to read. The food didn't taste of very much. A colleague recommended this place so it was quite a disappointment.

Really disappointed this evening, sticky floor, sticky tables, staff dressed in scruffy jogging bottoms and tee shirts. There was a man sat on his own eating chicken out of a KFC bucket who could have been a member of staff. This place has really gone downhill which is a shame. Food not as good as it used to be.

As the other reviewers found, the food is just not hot enough. Good value £11.99 for a Saturday lunchtime and the unlimited drinks were £3 extra. As always the sweet and sour fried chicken is the best dish on the buffet. Really enjoyed the fresh prawns starter and sushi too. The dessert cakes were massive and delicious. Ask them to microwave your food if you like it hot hot. Nice location in the old shopping centre.

As the headliner says, ‘not bad’..... Have been to multiple oriental buffets over the years, some owned by the same company. Surprisingly, even in those chain buffets, the quality can vary from good to not so good between restaurants. However, I’ve never had a bad experience, which is always a bonus. Came here on a Saturday, just before it got really busy. This is a restaurant of two halves as the servery is centred between the 2 parts of the restaurant. Even at lunchtime, there is a fairly good selection of food. There was even a very good selection of vegetables. As is usual in these types of establishments, service is non-existent. You pay before you eat and drink. Sometimes you can be lucky when you return from your next plate fill that your previous plate has been cleared away. Not on this occasion. I had 3 plates before they were finally cleared away. OK, it was busy, but staff were always passing by. Wasn’t over enamoured to find one or two tables placed in gangways which meant you walked very closely to diners as you passed by. Fortunately, we weren’t given one of those tables, but I felt for the people that did. Wouldn’t be an experience I would want to go through if I was ever offered one of those. Food was absolutely fine, although on some items where you’d expect a bit of finesse, there was none. In some instances it seemed luke warm rather than hot. Unusual pizzas but tasted OK. In summary, food was fine and tasted OK, but let down by ambience and poor table clearance. I would return, maybe when it’s less busy for a comparison. Prices average and definitely not bad.

It looked reasonably busy on the Thursday evening when we visited, so we thought "why not try it?" Here's why not.... Service - there is no service. You pay on entry and then help yourself. Staff appear dressed in joggers and trainers and do not engage with customers at all. Where serving dishes were empty, the staff would replenish if asked, but we did get sick of asking. Food - generally poor. We found a couple of ok dishes but the majority of food on offer was very poor quality. The prawn toast oozed fat into your mouth when bitten. The two soups on offer were congealed into thick pastes, the spring rolls were devoid of filling. Some of the other dishes must have been sitting there for hours to have become so dried up and unappealing. "How do the staff not notice?", you wonder. The chocolate fountain must surely use the chepest chocolate and marshmallows available and it shows in the taste. My 16yr old son gave up after a couple of bites, which is unheard of! Value for money - posters on the windows, visible from the street outside, show a cheaper price than the £16.99 pp we were charged. Perhaps this is a mistake. I pointed it out to the cashier however I fully expect the posters will still be there next time I walk past. For the amount we paid there are a whole host of more appealing options available. We left feeling as though we'd been scammed. I might have complained if I thought anyone would listen.

Well where do I start. We were not shown to a table after paying upfront. Told to choose our own table. First round of food was starters. Everything cold, even though the serving dishes were on hot plates and had steam coming from them, it was still cold. Thought we would go for mains next, well that was just as bad as the staters, to be honest even colder! The deserts to be honest were the same temperature as the hot food. No management in the restaurant at all to complain to only staff that said they were having problems keeping the food warm. The restaurant itself was cold, so that didn’t help with keeping the food warm. The best thing about the visit was the wine! !

Tepid food and pricey drinks. It’s not a place for high quality food, but if you want to eat your fill it’s ok. I doubt if you eat enough food to match the price though. A word of warning- they seem to clean the toilet...

Fairly basic Chinese buffet. Food was nice enough but limited selection due to it being lunchtime. Still good value for money though.

Make sure you book in advance as it gets rammed and waiting time to be seated can be 2 hours plus we came for a birthday food is buffet so its first come forst served staff do there job as well as can be expected for such a busy restraunt but it is hot in the restraunt so wear something comfy and cool but will visit again

Well after reading various reviews some bad I thought I would hold judgement and try it for myself and I wish I had taken note of the bad reviews the food was dreadful not very warm sauce they used was awful very sugary and sweet and the selection not that great and as for the pudding just wet sponge absolutely shocking I appreciate it was a cheap meal but it should at least be hot no excuse for that what so ever so avoid at all costs

We have been to kung fu on many occasions for birthdays and family get togethers. We absolutely love it there. If you go for lunch the price is really good. The evening is slightly more but definitely worth it as more mains and desert options.

Wow! This place is the best! We dont have all you can eat buffets in my neck of the woods so coming here was a real treat. All the dishes were yummy and they cater for kids really well. I ate 4 plates of main and 3 puddings! No one batted an eyelid! Friendly staff and food topped up as soon as it starts running low. Yummy so stuffed !!

I’ve been to a number of buffet outlets and by far this has been one of the best I’ve visited. The ambiance was brilliant, airy, bright & by no means noisy as many of these can easily be. Host & staff were very informed & welcoming when asked about allergies. Loved the bottomless soft drinks option, great food & dessert variety. What a place; fabulous & tasty. Will definitely be back before long.

I've eaten at many oriental buffets, some are great and some are very poor. This fits into the very good rating.

We recently visited with a group of 25, some with dietary requirements which the team catered for separately. The staff were friendly and really accommodating, really good value for money too.

The price is good and the variety of choices is alright during lunch and very good at dinner times when the price gets a bit higher. The waiting time is close to nothing.

Lots to choose from and no waiting time - so great if you have younger kids! Great value for the price - will visit again.

Went here for a family birthday. Massive selection all hot and individually tasting. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and it isn't too couped up like some buffets.

We went here when they first opened and were shocked at the poor food, condensation dripping from the ceiling and the overcrowding.

I was a bit reluctant to try this restaurant as the reviews have been a bit mixed. But, I am so glad we did! Went with a group of 5 including my parents in their 60s and my 10 year old daughter and we all loved it! A huge selection of food, mostly Chinese obviously but some other things as well (pizza, yorkshire puds, chips etc), lovely Chinese soups, amazing chinese curry dishes, Chinese dumplings and a good selection of vegetarian options. Allergens were all clearly labelled which is brilliant (I am coeliac so need gluten free). Dirty plates were taken away quickly so that we could use a clean plate for every visit to the buffet. And to top it all off, an amazingly large selection of puddings - creme brulee, chocolate mousse, fresh fruit, jelly, pavlova, gateaux and a chocolate fountain wo name but a few!

As a Chinese food lover, I love the food they do here, it's as good as any local takeaway and the place itself is clean and has lots of space.

If you want a clean all you can eat buffet Retaurant with a huge selection of dishes and a low entry price this is the place for you.

We all thought the food was very good, excellent choice and all the dishes very tasty. The desserts were good and again no shortage of choice. No-one in our group had any complaints at all. We have already booked to revisit next month.

I wouldn't recommend this restaurant even if it was the last one on earth. My boyfriend and I brought his 2 Year old son here for a quick bite to eat, the CHILD Food selection ( consisted of pizzas etc) was so greasy it looked as though the food had been soaked in grease from a kebab truck, the pizza was practically transparent it was so greasy. We asked for a refund as we hadn't eaten anything and were shouted at and refused a refund for 2 adults to eat and 1 child and 3 drinks it cost us £50 and we didn't even have anything as we couldn't eat the food it was dry, under cooked, greasy and disgusting my dog has had better meals!!! The fruit shoot was price marked at £1.20 and they charged us £3.50. The staff were not helpful at all i was struggling to get a high chair and they stood around watching and laughing, absolutely disgusting the company should be ashamed of themselves!!!

As with many all you can eat buffets, some dishes work well, some not at all. Of course the more popular and bigger these restaurants are the fresher the dishes - see the wonderful Za Za Bazarr in Bristol for evidence. Service is good although communication can be a problem. Price is a little of the high side and varies a bit too much for my liking. The cleaniness of the floor needs to be looked at. The dessert section was very popular with my kids though!

Came here for first time and being someone who just doesn't eat Chinese or oriental food I was very apprehensive but to my surprise they provide a variety of dishes very cheap and pleasant atmosphere will be returning

Me and my son had dinner but not a great experience. Looks a great choice but didn't taste very good and nearly cold. Nothing was hot, lots of bones in the crispy duck which was off putting, and hardly any fresh sea food. Run out of fresh fruit and had to wait for ages for more then it was all warm, straight out of a tin. Wouldn't recommend.

I love this place. Food always fresh and tasty, staff polite and extra friendly especially the manager. Never problem with a table or a quality. If you prefer english food don;t go there, because Kung fu is only oriental food which you need to like it. I have found something for me and now I'm a regular customer, 3 times per week.

Value for money is very good, there is a huge amount of choice and the people who work there are really nice. The food isn't that great though.

All you can eat buffet of primarily oriental food. Huge choice of dishes and very tasty. Only £7.99 at lunch and (I think) £13.99 evenings. Excellent value and definitely a cut above most buffet style venues. Drinks cost extra.

We visited on a Saturday night and all the food was very tasty and well presented. My only complaint is that most of the dishes were cold - unless they had just been changed. Other than that very nice and good polite service

Kung Fu Buffet in the Kennet Centre is just amazing, a fixed price buffet with such a mix of oriental food I have not seen better. The restaurant is very large and with plenty of space for all occasions the quality of the food is very high and the restaurant carries a 5 star rating. I recommend you try this buffet as I don't think you can get a better eat all you can buffet. Plenty of room for disabled access.

Where do I start? The food I suppose: I’ve experienced textures I didn’t think were possible. Chicken like stringy packaging peanuts. Pork like leather. Duck, like leather. Beef...i chewed and chewed and yet it remained in the original state it was upon going into my mouth. The rice was like gravel mixed with human effluent, except with less flavour. My mouth has been assaulted tonight by salt and grease.

I can't really give this too low a score, as the food was about as good as a take away and seemed fresh. You can't expect it to be high quality and fresh from the over in a place like this - it would be impossible for them to stay afloat - the most you can expect is for it to be clean and cheap. And it is.

Tried this restaurant once before and wasn’t too keen so I decided to give it another chance, but it was awful, it was very busy and we were packed in so tight you struggled to get in between the seats. The food was awful, it was bland, greasy and luke warm and l have no other word but disgusting when it came to the desserts. It’s overpriced and extremely poor quality. I won’t be trying it for a third visit.

First Visit ,went with friends for lunch,wide selection of oriental dishes plus Pizza and chips for kids .Food ok not the best quality obviously as the fixed price is quite low .Some options not available lunch times but this is reflected in the price .Near multiplex so good for post/pre cinema.If you like authentic Oriental meal then try Mau Mau nearby .

Booked at table for 7pm. Was seated quickly by the friendly staff. Food was very good, for a buffet 'all you can eat' style meals it was pretty high standard.

We’ve eaten here twice now, once on a Saturday lunchtime and once on Sunday lunchtime. The cheaper option on Saturday is good value but we really enjoyed the variety of food on Sunday for an extra £5. Both of us love seafood and found the sushi really good, scallops & prawns were cooked for us to order and many other dishes contained mussels & seafood. I know there have been many negative reviews but we thought it was great value and really enjoyed our food. We asked for a window table and were not rushed at all and the bottle of wine was good as well at under £14. I think if you go expecting a romantic setting and star rated food you’ll be disappointed but for an enjoyable, tasty super value experience it excels.

As a family we have been to several similar restaurants & so were pleased to see one had opened in Newbury. We have been for both evening & lunch service. The lunch option at £7.99 for adults is ridiculously cheap - but the menu is limited ( puddings are very limited - the chocolate fountain isn't on for instance ). The evening / Sunday price of £13.99 is cheap, but having said that both the wife & I wouldn't want to return. The food suffers from having been made down to a price & is very similar & bland. I had three chicken dishes on my plate at the same time & in a blind taste test couldn't tell which was which. I'd happily pay a fiver more & get tastier food.

Terrible food - I understand the concept of a chinese buffet and previously had some very good experiences - sadly not here. Greasy, unpleasant, dried out food in a vast cold restaurant. Nothing to recommend the place at all other than that is was cheap - even then not sure it was worth the money.

This place is what it says on the tin! An oriental buffet. You pay on the door and then help yourself to a wide range of dishes going back as often as you like. The food was varied and reasonably good. Haute cuisine it isn’t but it is enjoyable and plentiful. If you want a drink you buy it at the bar but I did notice that soft drinks seemed to be unlimited. We had a very pleasant window table and were not hassled at all. We spent a pleasant couple of hours there. It’s very good value for an unlimited buffet and we would go again to try some of the dishes we didn’t have room for this time.

We've passed the Fung Fu many times lately but never quite made it in for a meal so the grandsons being here at half term was the perfect incentive.

Been here 4 times now with our toddler who gets charged only £1 or £2 depending on lunch or dinner. For families with very young children who won’t stay still for more than a few minutes, lunch is really good value. Quite a good selection for adults and kids, both main courses and dessert. Just what we were missing in Newbury,a decent buffet place.
