Food is wonderful. The people are so helpful and friendly. Setting is gorgeous. You do need to pre book a table.

Kudos has been a feature of the restaurant scene in Canterbury and I have dined there for over 20 years. Still excellent food and lovely service- long may it continue

Hands down the BEST Chinese I have EVER had!!!!! 10/10! So tasty and fresh!!!! Literally wow!!!!

Utterly amazing in every aspect the best Chinese restaurant we have ever been to. Not one morsel left on any plates. Make sure you call first and if they ask for a deposit say yes you won’t regret it!

The food is so good and the owner is so friendly. Great atmosphere and great upscale Chinese food. Make sure you book as they require reservations!

Called up to make a booking and lady was blunt and rude asked credit card number on the phone to pay £50 deposit to confirm the booking or asking to come in before once to pay the deposit, super desperate for business and broke for funds it seems, this place should be avoided at any cost for their unprofessional attitude as they will be out of business soon, what a pathetic experience on the phone itself, lucky we didn’t have the misfortune to attend this sick place.

The food here is absolutely a cut above normal Chinese fare and even tips over into fine dining territory but this is reflected in the prices, which are slightly eye-watering, especially the wine list. You have to wonder how many £800 bottles of champagne they shift. Still, the decor is appealingly quirky, the staff are friendly and on-point, and the dishes wonderfully tasty and incredibly moreish. It's just a shame we had to declare bankruptcy after a single course. Lol.

So glad the restaurant has finally re opened, the food here is absolutely gorgeous and the owners should be very proud for maintaining such high standards for so many years, This Chinese really does stand out from other places throughout Kent. Take aways and the restaurant is just spectacular.

I have been using Kudos for many years , great place and food has always been amazing 100% the best in town , but as a regular customer i am glad the restaurant has reopened but i am very disappointed that there is no chance to get a takeaway Friday or Saturday as this is the only time the restaurant is open , surely this is when people want takeaways ? I hope that once the restaurant settles the weekend takeaways start again.

My first visit but only for a takeaway. Wow - wonderful decor and a bar for a drink while I waited! Can honestly say it was the best Chinese food We have ever had in Canterbury. Will be back

Very friendly and fast service. We wanted to dine in but the restaurant is under renovation so they were only doing takeaway. We are visiting from the States and I had heard Chinese food is very different in England. So I played it safe and ordered sweet and sour chicken. It was delicious and very much like I have had at home except cleaner and fresher tasting. I should have gotten a side of rice to go with. Hubby got cashew chicken and special fried rice. He didn't love it as much as my choice. The special rice was very good and fresh but we kind of missed the onion, garlic and soy sauce but I'll bet there isn't any other place nearby that does it better. Would gladly go back again. If you are a big eater get an extra entre or side. Good value for the price though. The French music playing in the lobby was fun but the volume was too loud.

Good food (have ordered before from inside the shop) BUT prioritises telephone call orders over counter service. The lady spoke to us through a beaded curtain and stated that we should sit down and she would come to us when she was ready. She then preceeded to take 3 telephone call orders and expected us to continue waiting until such time as the phone stopped ringing. I understand the financial implications (2 customers will order less than 3/4/5 telephone orders but surely when you phone a popular take away you are not anticipating having your call answered first time / immediately. If you enjoy the food you call back in 5 mins... no big deal. If, on the other hand, you happen to go to buy your food in person, it is wrong to assume that they have more time to sit around waiting than someone at home (probably watching Saturday evening TV) calling an order through does. It was poor judgement as we'd been given menus and chosen our 5/6 selections so it would have taken less than a minute for her to place our order. Needless to say we left and went to The New Far East, a small family run traditional take away where me and my partner had great fun being entertained by little Jason who invited us to play with his small wooden Orca (killer whal) 2 cars and a transformer toy. Both he and his mum were an absolute joy despite having to take telephone orders on a busy Saturday night.

Our meal was delivered to our home. It arrived on time and was hot. The food was first class, some of the best Chinese food we have had anywhere. Portions were very adequate, well cooked and full of flavour. The king prawn dish had a good number of prawns with lovely sauce. Overall, we were very satisfied with our experience of Kudos. from ordering to real enjoyment of quality Chinese food. Price a little more than some restaurants but appropriate for the quality and quantity of the food. Two very satisfied customers.

Take away review - We loved the food. The medium spicy salt & pepper squid was very very good, best we have had in Europe. All other dishes were good also. Best Asian food in Canterbury we have had. We will be back for sure.

We have ordered 2 delivery meals from Kudos in the last couple of weeks - we had our first one last week which we were so impressed by that went for it again this week with friends: the food is very tasty, freshly cooked and just downright delicious: so glad to have found quality Chinese food here in Canterbury

We’ve been customers of Kudos since the ‘80s and it’s always been a family treat as it’s not cheap - however their portions have become increasingly mean and their attitude increasingly poor. Our last few orders have been missing dishes and/or sauces and instead of apology you get arrogance & rudeness. Such a shame. It’s really not worth the £££

Lovely food usually. Very disappointing half crispy duck takeaway yesterday though. The duck seemed like it was bought in pre shredded. Not a bit of crispiness and little flavour. It definitely wasnt from a recently cooked duck. Eight pancakes but barely enough sauce for 4. Why not be generous with the sauce. It was £19.99 for the dish, so why be so tight with the sauce? If you like crispy duck, get it elsewhere

No longer does dine in. Beware this restaurant now only does takeaway. We discovered this after paying £5 to park.Their website and Google still claim that they are fully fledged restaurant with dining available. Why they can’t change their details is beyond me.

Had my first delivery today, I’ve been searching in Canterbury for the best Chinese, I’ve probably tried about 10 of the ‘best ones’ in Canterbury recommended online… this is BY FAR THE BEST. The quality of the meat is 10/10 all arrived piping hot and nothing missing! 👍🏻 Took an hour and 10 minutes to arrive BUT a was no doubt worth the wait! Will be sticking to Kudos from now onwards. Love love loveeee!

We ordered a takeaway, it was absolutely lovely. Great website, really colourful and funky and the food really tasty. Lovely lady took my order over the phone and food was delivered by the lovely friendly chef! We will be making this restaurant a favourite!

Excellent food and service!This restaurant is so good we’ve been going here for nearly 30 years. Although we now live in Stansted Essex it is well worth the trip to come down here to Have a meal.

We visited this evening and were disappointed to see they were not serving inside, just takeaway. However, we ordered a takeaway to take to our hotel and it was thoroughly enjoyable.

We’re new to Canterbury and tried out the Royal Inn takeaway - good starters but main meals were substandard and felt like artificial ingredients. In contrast, the takeaway we had from Kudos today really was up a few notches in taste and class. Everything tasted un-artificial and not greasy - the flavours were delicious. The Barbecue sauce in BBQ spare ribs tasted like it had been made from actual ingredients, not out of a bottle, likewise the satay, which tasted sweet but gave a punch after three seconds. The special fried rice tasted fresh and fragrant. And the Emperor beef tasted like the equivalent of a roast dinner - sweet and comforting. The half portion of duck was plentiful, and the duck moist. It doesn’t come with the gimmicks of free fortune cookies or prawn crackers, but we were impressed by the dishes. Kudos to kudos - we’ll be coming back.

Take away reveiw (covid an all) Very good food and very friendly staff. Bit of a wait for delivery so pick up if you can or order early on popular nights. Not the cheapest however worth the cost and the wait, not had a bad meal yet. Would get 5 stars if it gave free prawn crackers like it's competition 😉

Takeaway, on time the food was Delicious,hot ,packed with flavour , no skimping full of prawns , beef and chicken . The delivery driver has got to be the happiest man ever . Thankyou would highly recommend .

Really lovely Chinese. Got a takeaway from here after reading the good reviews, and I was very happy that I did. Delicious food, staff very friendly with excellent Covid procedures, making you feel very safe and reassured. Can’t wait to visit again. Highly recommended.

I got a recommendation from a friend of mine who said this is the only takeaway he will go to in the current Covid era, he said it's because it's so clean. Blimey he's right. Hands sanitised upon arrival, door handles cleansed for every customer and the lady in the desk had a face shield etc. The food was lovely too, all checked and all tasty and warm. I can recommend the sweet and sour chicken, pure breast meat!

Kudos Restaurant is now my preferred Chinese restaurant in Canterbury. Excellent food every time, same quality on the takeaway menu. Outstanding service.

Had takeaways before but never eaten in the restaurant until tonight.Excellent quality food! The soft shell carb was amazing!Though the food is more expensive than a standard Chinese restaurant it’s well worth it! Drinks are a tad too expensive.Would definitely visit again! HmmmmVery inexperienced staff, had to refer to 'supervisor' for everythingFood and cocktails served in the wrong order, if they had got their act together we would have had more to drink but had to cancel cocktails as they had already served our starters - bizarreOnly one other table occupied - so no atmosphereVery expensive indeed for what we had.This place used to justify its prices but we left before 21.00 having had a disappointing evening.Suggestions - train staff so they can answer queries themselves (and take orders to the chef, diners should not have to listen to everything being dictated) - get the food and drinks in the right orderI know restaurants are struggling in this financial climate but there was no excuse for not getting things right - I saw 4 staff and there were only 6 customers!

The food was fine, just overpriced. And I don’t think anybody should be charged was nearly £4 for a cup of tea! A disappointing experience overall, I won’t return.

Recommended to try this place out. Had the aromatic duck which was cold and out of a tub. Everything else very mediocre. The wine choice was limited and ridiculously priced. Saving grace was the friendly staff. We won’t be recommending this place.

Took my parents and girlfriend for a meal here and it was one of the most overpriced and frustrating evenings I've ever had in a restaurant. It is supposedly the premium Chinese food option in Kent, and the prices on the menu would indicate that (£15 for a small Crispy shredded beef, and £6 for a double espresso)!On arrival they seat you for a drink in this incredibly tacky bar area... where you have half pints and substandard wine for £8 a glass. They then insist you order everything at the bar area... and the pressure is extremely intense and weird. I had 2 waitresses literally shouting at me to get the orders in.Once done they take you into the tables at the back which have to be the most unappealing dining situation I've seen... just bland white tables. They then bring out all the food which was pretty middling with small portion sizes. Wine is also expensive and grim..Can't see this restaurant surviving....

Not good. Food is pretty average and a fairly tasteless imitation of Chinese. Menu is very limited and wine list is short and over priced. Not a surprise that we were the only diners!

Hemos vivido en Canterbury durante bastantes años y nunca probamos este lugar, ¡qué falta de nuestra parte! Ayer nos llevamos algo y fue, sinceramente, el mejor que hemos tenido en años. Las salsas eran frescas, las verduras estaban crujientes, nada grasosas y las porciones eran de un tamaño decente. Es cierto que algunos otros lugares dan porciones más grandes, pero siempre terminamos con demasiado, esto fue justo. Definitivamente usaremos aquí nuevamente y visitaremos el restaurante con la familia también.

Sehr gutes Essen, das aber als take-away deutlich preiswerter iist. Wir gaben trotzdem im Restaurant gegessen und und wurde - ggf. gegen Aufpreis - jeder Wunsch erfüllt. Die Bedienuing war sehr zügig, die Speisen kamen sehr schnell, aber man wurde nicht bedrängt zu gehen.

Comida sabrosa pero costosa. Casi tuvo un ataque al corazón por los precios del vino. 6 para un pequeño timbal de arroz frito especial. De acuerdo con el revisor acerca de la mente su cabeza. También hemos tenido en cuenta el paso un millón de veces. El baño era muy extraño. Es unisex con una habitación con 5 cubículos, 2 para hombres, 2 para mujeres y el medio es LGBT. No volvería a ir.

Los cinco de nosotros (familia) comimos a las 7. 45 pm el sábado 20 de abril - parte de la celebración de mi cumpleaños. Es gracioso que te digan "cuida tu cabeza", ¡pero 3 de nosotros eran más de 6 pies! La primera mesa en la que nos sentamos tenía pulgas, por lo que se trasladaron a una segunda mesa que también tenía esos insectos. Esperamos hasta que todos los manteles se hubieran cambiado. La orden de las bebidas fue tomada y había intentado en línea para ver qué vinos estaban disponibles. No hay información en línea y luego descubrí la razón por la que: 25. 95 para vino de mesa de la casa. Los vinos más baratos fueron de 32 a 40 y algunos vinos hasta 600 +. La casa roja y blanca eran muy ordinarias. Nuestro costo total de 179 era demasiado caro. El servicio era bueno y la comida era sabrosa pero porciones pequeñas. No recomendaré venir aquí y no volveré a reservar aquí.

The food was very tasty, but my friend and I felt a little rushed and £3.50 for 1 scoop of ice cream is excessive.

Es un poco más costoso que tu restaurante chino estándar, pero pagas por ingredientes de primera calidad, preparados con cuidado en lugar de un montón de papilla MSG: pagaría una y otra vez por Kudos y sus gambas al ajillo. So here's a review that's been a long time coming. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants I've ever been to. I live just around the corner and get takeaway often from here. The staff are attentive, engaging, and genuinely thoughtful. The food is not only in sizable portions, but consistent in being very good in quality. If you've never been, you're missing out. Give it a go.

We visited Kudos for the first time. I was already dubious about the prices before I went as I had already seen the menu but after reading a review saying they order the set menu I thought I will go for that. They don’t do set menus. Personally the food that we ordered was all delicious and didn’t taste like a greasy Chinese usually does. I can’t fault the food. But there was 9 of us and the bill came to £427 I mean £50 a head and I was driving. House wine £26 we had 3 bottles. We were all a bit shocked when the bill came. £38 service charge added too. Delicious food but take out a mortgage before you arrive.

6 of us visited and we ordered the set meal plus a few extras, the food was great and the service and staff were fabulous, would recommend this Chinese if you are visiting Canterbury

I bought a meal to take away and was so pleased with the quality and flavour of the dishes. Spring rolls and sesame prawn toast to start. The spring rolls were huge and packed with flavour. The prawn toast was good but not as flavoursome although I'd have it again. Next came beef in black bean sauce, chilli battered prawns, and sizzling lamb. All were exceptional with the exception of the sizzling lamb which was simply one of the best dishes I've ever had from a Chinese restaurant. Singapore noodles and special fried rice complemented the meal and both were excellent.

Es una pena que regularmente haya comido y disfrutado la comida aquí, así que ciertamente no quiero dejar a la gente fuera. Smaller menu then many other Chinese but you can tell everything’s incredible fresh. Which is a good thing for a customer, my and my family always get our takeaways from kudos. Is more expensive then other Chinese takeaway but you get what you pay for . Favourite dish- satay chicken highly recommend

Ni siquiera llegué. Tuve dos conversaciones, la primera con una señora que me dijo que habría un depósito para más de 20 personas y luego, cuando llamé para reservar, recibí información diferente.

Ir a Kudos es un lujo raro para mí. Si desea comida china de alta calidad y un ambiente de lujo, puede contar con ellos para no decepcionarlo. Entretenido con un querido amigo de Londres, no quería llevarla a ningún lugar antiguo, así que vinimos aquí y no nos decepcionó. Éramos los últimos huéspedes allí y pudimos demorar nuestra comida sin sentir apresuramiento, y sin embargo, el servicio siempre estaba allí para notar cuando necesitábamos recargas o el próximo curso. La presentación es superior a cualquier otro restaurante de este tipo. Gracias por una linda noche.

Kudos is a place of contradictions. The staff can be a bit abrupt and strange one minute and very friendly; bursting with nervous energy the next. Depending what dishes you pick, the food is either delicious or tasteless. The decor is everything you’d expect from a Chinese restaurant... surrounded by a sea of lime green and white. The only constant is the price which is verging on being a rip-off.

With family we came again to celebrate a birthday. The service was very good and attentive; the food was very good and the evening was very enjoyable.

Very cold in the restaurant, but good service and good food. Think we will stick to takeaways in the future as it worked out very expensive.

Dined here with friends before Christmas. This isn't your standard Chinese, it more of a fine dining Chinese. A good Selection of dishes and everything tastes wonderful. Not your typical greasy Chinese!! Served hot and fresh to your table. The do a good selection of drinks and cocktails however these will increase your bill as they are very expensive for what you get.

Let's be honest, it's a good venue, the staff are lovely, the food is great, but fine dining it is not. It is a really nice Chinese restaurant but the food is not twice as good as any other restaurants locally, it does not justify the bill being twice the amount you would pay elsewhere for comparable food and service. Putting £400 and £500 bottles of wine on a menu only serves to make the other bottles seem good value at £40, but they are not.
