Krazy Pizza in Chelmsford

The Chelmsford takeaway from the good old days is simply legendary and deserved 5 stars, now unfortunately closed. This place is pure nostalgia for anyone who grew up here. Amazing kebabs, Krazy sauce, chilli sauce, fish and chips, fried chicken, and that double chicken fillet burger—so good! Hygiene was on point, health inspectors approved. Perry and Bubli ran an honest, customer-oriented family business for nearly three decades. They knew their stuff and even only joined Just Eat revolution when they wanted to. But hey, after they left six years ago, things went downhill. Amateurs took over, and Krazy Chef lost its charm and reputation to the point of closure. Now, there's hope with Super Doner taking over! 🌟 A new franchise run by an experienced owner who's all about good food is coming. The refurbishment looks astonishing, and I can sense greatness ahead for kebab lovers. Perry and Bubli might even make an appearance we hope. Exciting times! 😄👍

Had food delivered from here, plenty of choice and options with those choices. Chips were chunky and cooked well, portions were large. Plenty of options for kids along with various sides and drinks. If not choosing delivery the store is on a parade so usually plenty of parking.

Arrived cold, under cooked, missing and wrong items. Had to throw the whole lot straight in the bin! Never going to use again!

Wouldn’t bother going here again. Went in at 6pm on a Saturday evening to order fish cake and chips, to be told no fish frying! Absolutely ridiculous, and rude with it.

Ordered from them on several occasions as the food is usually nice. However, I usually have items missing etc. One time they literally delivered just chips, nothing else on the order. Had to drive down there and wait nearly 40 minutes for them to recook everything, as they didn't answer the phone after 80 attempts. (Not kidding either) Seems to be a common theme, won't be ordering again.

Do not order from here . Pizza size is an absolute joke I ordered medium and when I opened it in the shop it was 4 tiny tiny slices I said no way this is medium the guy got very aggressive with me and staring saying about the measurements etc the actual pizza was disgusting rock hard and cold. Will never order from here again and I wish I had looked at the reviews before ordering leason learnt I am shocked they are still in business

I ordered a meal they lied about delivery time so in the end I went to collect even though I paid for delivery I had been warned about this place that the food was terrible but I thought I would try for myself and that was a mistake the food was hard and cold the medium pizza was so tiny 4 tiny slices that I was sure it was a mistake when I asked the guy in the shop about the size he was very aggressive and rude . This is honestly the worst food I have ever tasted and pleas anyone look at the reviews on Facebook and Google and on here the food is terrible and the place should be shut down.

This shop is very terrible I waited for 4 minutes and almost missed my bus the Asian guy said 2 minutes before and after the 2 minutes he said 2 minutes scammed me and my friend. He said £2.50 for large then my friend asked for small and the Asian guy said 2 pound even tho it’s 1 pound. I think I should get a refund plus %25 more. This is very unacceptable I think they should fire the Asian guy.

Awful place, chips wasn't cooked- sauces were missing. Didn't answer, got hung up on after complaining. Chips were suppose to be large, more like a handful.

Ordered a doner kebab and had to throw most of it away, the most greasy thing I have ever eaten, the pitta was not even warmed up, the chilli sauce was like water, yuck.

Ordered at 17:45 eventually ate our food at 21:50….when we called up after and hour and 20 mins of waiting the girl on the phone said it was out for delivery and the driver had 4 deliveries to do. 50 mins later still no food tried calling again but no answer. My partner eventually went down there and according to them they didn’t receive our online order properly. They then made the food up for us then which took quite a while. The chips were awful and hard, missing parts of the order and hardly any meat in the wraps. Will not from here again unfortunately

Not only did they get my order wrong the first time and send me someone else's food. I ordered a meal for one, pepperoni thin crust pizza, six chicken wings and a cherry tango. What I got was a chicken and bacon pizza, hot wings, two drinks and a meal of fried chicken and chips. I called to tell them I had someone else's food and that I would like my pizza. It took another hour for them to deliver just a pizza which was also the wrong pizza. This one had chicken, pepperoni, peppers and sweetcorn on it. No drink, no replacement hot wings. The man that came to deliver thispizza tried to hand me back the chicken and chips after he'd taken a bite out of the chicken and I said I don't want it, I wanted what I ordered. Called again to say it's the wrong pizza and they don't know how they made the wrong one. 🤦☠️ Don't order from here. It's just stressful and disappointing.

Very rude. Asked for meat and chips was told if wanted a mix of meats it would be £14, then told could not have a mix so asked for chicken. Was then told this would be an extra £1 which was fine. Got the food home and was given lamb instead of chicken.

Only bought chips, don't even deserve one start. Most ended up on bin, Horrible cheese on chips. Will never use again. Don't know how this shop has ended up so bad.

I went to get a portion of chips and ketchup after 9pm last night. Had about half the chips, got home and few hours later was vomiting. My husband said he had an upset stomach. We are hoping it was coincidence. By the way this was my favourite take away on Chelmsford.

Really disappointed as have been going since I was a kid. Ordered 2x kebab and chips plus 2x nuggets and chips. Order was confused a number of times but got through it. Got home to find only kebab meat and a few chips, no pitta or salad. Food tasted awful, kids didn’t even touch theirs. Sadly, my last visit there after more than 30 years of going.

Seriously no 1 should ever eat from this place as they have rats running across their kitchen floor out the back. SAW THEM WITH MY OWN EYES...no hygiene whilst preparing and cooking your food...DISGUSTED

The whole experience was a disappointment. We ordered 2 meals and only 1 arrived and that was my daughters chicken nugget, chips and coleslaw meal. The coleslaw was a side dish. When I opened the box it was all mixed together with what looked like a burger/mustard sauce mixed in with it too. Also a hair sticking out of the side of it, which I only noticed after taking the photo and it made me physically sick. I called up Krazy chef and explained what had happened and that my daughters meal hadn’t been touched and that mine was missing. The man pretended he couldn’t speak English and when I asked for a replaced he said no and hung the phone up on me. Will definitely not be returning or recommending to anyone. I’ll post this all over Facebook. Disgusting place and staff.

This place has gone down hill of late I witnessed bags of open chips on the floor beside the fryer. The place is not as clean as it used to be One of the servers tried to over charge me, when questioned he became rude We as a family will not use this place again which is a shame It’s shame as the owners from around 25/30 years ago were lovely

Gutted the other couple left best tomato/garlic sauce ever and now well it's horrible and as for their chips well again not a patch on the old owners, nothing worse than frozen chips, tried these new ones twice won't be a third, such a shame....

Very poor quality food , warm salad cold meat all mixed together in a styrofoam box , yuk , tried repeatedly to call them to give them the opportunity to sort it out , but no calls answered , . If you enjoy a good quality kebab don't order from Krazy Chef Chelmsford , they don't deserve the 1 star given . You will get salad that is hotter than the meat , and all mixed together like some kind of stew . I tried calling them repeatedly for 30 minutes , but no response . But in Krazy chefs defence my dogs really enjoyed it , needless to say we won't be ordering again

I used to love the kebabs but now put into plastic chinese food tubs and you have to assemble food at home. How clinical and tastes sterile. What a backward step I won't go there again

I looked in the window and saw the inside, I went else where, it looked grubby.

Positive - friendly delivery driver and arrived on time. Negatives - most of order either missing (no dips, apparently had run out of margherita pizza?!, no spaghetti bolognese) or wrong (pizza wrap missing mozzarella and tomato sauce, Greek salad with no feta cheese) and remaining items tasteless and poorly cooked. Avoid.

Waited for an hour and a half to only find the order was wrong. No salads and wrong sauces for kebabs. Disappointing. Bob was also disappointed at small portions of sauce that did arrive as wasn't in proportion to kebab size. Chan's burger sauce didn't come either. It's a shame.

Been coning here for takeaways for years. Not sure whats happened but will never enter again 2 hours late pitta bread like cardboard no sauce and most of it went in the bin. Avoid at all costs

Shocking! Food order placed at 18.20. Still no food by 21.20 despite numerous phone calls telling me it had been dispatched. Finally told at 21.30 there had been a problem with the delivery drivers car and they could send a fresh order but couldn’t give me a time of how long it would take to be delivered. Can’t comment on the food quality as didn’t even get the meals but the customer service was non existent

Ordered krazy chef by phone for collection on Thursday 24th June. Was told 5 minutes. Upon collection I waited a good 20 minutes as they rushed about apparently busy but not appearing to do anything. What I received was a build your own kebab, greasy chicken in a box, salad in another and then a pitta. Wish I hadn't have bothered, food was greasy and salty and my stomach was upset for 2 days afterwards. Avoid in future

The last 5 orders have got it wrong an last night it was over an hour delivery an I live 3 miles away the grilled chicken was rock hard an chips almost cold absolutely disappointing as it use to be very good food before new owners !!!!

Waiting 2h for our order so far. No one answering the phone after 25 attempts. Not even the courtesy to call us and let us know the order is delayed. Unacceptable if 0 stars was an option thats what it would be

Firstly got a kebab with no salad bits or sauces. Only meat and the pitta bread bit. When tried to call them several times did not answer phone.

Walk in order was wrong on arrival at home, rung them to complain but was put on hold, then forgotten or ignored! Kebab was cold and mint sauce was more like salad cream. Such a shame as used to be such a nice kebab takeaway. Very disappointed and will not be returning

The pizza from here is my fav in chelmsford, always super cheesy and at a reasonable price! The delivery guys are also my favourite who ever it is just always is very happy and courteous!

2 hours and 40 minutes to get my correct order and I had to literally go searching for it. First order showed up after an hour and was wrong. Phoned to get it sorted. After about 90 minutes of it still not arriving my partner went to the restaurant as they were ignoring our calls.They are refusing to issue us a refund.Cheers for ruining our evening!

Ordered two pizzas from them, both had multiple large, black hairs on them. Nice quality control, KC.

Walk in order, large rib meal and lamb chicken mixed kebab. 1st the meat was under cooked, rough and very chewy, literally had to pry the meat from the ribs and the mixed kebab was crab. My 10 year old boy cook a better meal than that, Wouldn't surprise me if I catch food poisoning.

Worst place in the world! Always late always food missing. Been told 30 mins and it's over 2 hours and can't tell me when it will be ready. The staff are clueless and can't cook.

Absoloutly terrible!! Ordered from just eat, restaurant is listed as krazy chef on their site but its the same place as krazy pizza. Order still hadnt arrived half hour after stated delivery time, called the restaurant 15 times (no exaggeration) and no answer at all. My mrs drove there to enquire where food was, she was told they cant find the order. She asked whats the excuse for not answering the phone and the guy just replied with a grunt. A few mins later shes then told that the order is 5 mins away on delivery. Food arrived with items missing, and the food that did arrive was terrible and not edible. Doner wraps were stale, One of the chicken kebabs was a pitta dumped in a box with some well over cooked, dry and burnt chicken chucked on top (ive added a photo) we got a full refund but what a shambles all in all!!

Not to my liking at all. Food was insipid and tasteless.

Food was 45 minutes late, the two shakes tasted the same and did not taste of either of the 2 flavours selected, (crunchy and Bueno) just tasted of vanilla.

Had food missing took me 20 mins to get in contact with them got told rest of food would be 5 mins never turned up phoned back again to get told I hadnt spoke to them....was told I'd get full order replaced as it was a meal deal to get left with cold chicken as was over a hour till rest of food was sorted would never ever use again and would not recommend

Online orders go first so you end up waiting for ages outside in cold, very good food but my recommendation is to order it online

Friendly, fast service combined with tasty food. Very clean place. When i went second time even I got free drink. The taste of the food and the service is very much as same as the first visit. Surely I will visit again when I am in Chelmsford.

Really gone down hill since new people took it over

Ordered from here tonight and it was shocking I order here all the time as the offer so much for me and family. We ordered chicken fillet burger tonight and was given a strip of chick this was dry hard and over cooked. When I called them I was offered a replacement tomorrow as the chef had gone home. When I said on just eat they was open till 23.30 and I didn’t want the order tomorrow night I will have it when I want it I was hang up on. I have pictures but unfortunately I can’t upload these. But I am willing to share with crazy chef themselves should they actually care. Very disappointed as have ordered from these for a number of years and very experienced anything like this.

Normally we enjoy food from here but today it was AWFUL! Chicken undercooked and lamb overcooked. Salad not even properly chopped. We might take a longer brake from Krazy Chef 😡

WARNING! I always order the same thing from Krazy every time, This is prob the Worst that it has arrived! Kebab wrap... PINK. I Call the restaurant and they said naa i spoke to the guy and he said its fine to eat! I told the guy i was not feeling comfortable eating this and he said well... thats your choice! i said can you not send another out, he said naa you have chosen not to eat this. Safe to say Krazy... you have lost a customer here.

Just ordered tonight and I must say disappointed. Soggy chips, and a burger with no salad, sauce nothing, just a burger in a bun.

Ordered fish and chips. Fish was dreadful, so chewy, seemed stale and triplefried. Chips miserable. Inedible.

Just received our order. Chips are soggy and disgusting, chicken burger is like a piece of rubber. Jalapeño bites are nice but are store bought frozen so hard to mess up. Pie is like a cardboard box filled with sawdust. I wouldn’t order food here again if they were giving it away. Order at your own peril.

If you visiting to shop and ordering then it's fine, if you order over phone, then it's really difficult as they don't understand English properly. Service is OK, food is OK

Love the way you can customize the pizza crust give it that little bit more not to mention the actual pizza itself was very tasty and cook perfectly. These do serve up a very tasty kebabs aswell and generous portions. The chip shop is unfortunately what's stopping them being a 5 star for me, as once I got home chips was stone cold and just couldn't eat them.

Regular client every Friday (was) most of the time they forget an item ordered, had a bad stomach experience last time including one of my kids. Never get a fresh kebab but from the pans which most of the time is soggy. They don't have lemon in salad and the chips are bad 3 out of 5. Avoid

I was I’d read the reviews before we ordered. We’ve used this company a lot - mainly because the food was always hot and loads of tomato base. We ordered through Just Eat and the food arrived on time. There was absolutely no tomato base on either of our pizzas. I rang the shop and was told there was definitely tomato base. I said I’d taken photos so I was asked to send them in via text message to the lad who answered the phone. I then got a text asking for a photo of the top of the pizza which I sent! We were starving by now so ate our pizzas, having to use two dips each as they were so dry. I told them I was disgusted that I was being asked for photos as evidence and that I would be writing a review. Looking at other reviews, it’s because they have new management. Well, we won’t be using them again. Takeaway is a treat ... this wasn’t.
