Korean Restaurant in Leicester

This Korean BBQ restaurant is so good I could bring my friends here and show them the wonders of this restaurant, I had no problem with the staff and they were really friendly.

I had the seafood and vegetable hot pot the other day, which tasted nice but later sent me to the toilet for the whole night. Good food, but at what cost 😭

The cheese tteokbokki and kimchi pancakes are always so good here! Order them together and dip the pancakes in the cheese sauce. Such a winning combo!

Best Korean BBQ in Leicester!! Service is always exceptional and food is also great. 3rd time visiting and honestly is one of my favourite places to eat plus the Kimchi is just top tier

We just been in today with the group of 9 people, the food was ok, price reasonable. However, this made me rated this review because service attitude was HORRIBLE. I asked the lady could she change bbq paper as it too leaking water from the meat, she started show the attitude on me and get back to me “ why i have to change that, it seems like my fault make the bbq paper wet?? Also, blame on me pour the water in it??? Its ridiculous, how and why I pour the water into the bbq You have to pay 10% for service charge so make sure find somewhere worth it. This is last time I come here, never again!

I loved this place. Very authentic, delicious food, large quantities and friendly service. The owner even told me that I was ordering too much and that I wouldn’t be able to finish it 😅. She was right!

I came here a couple months back with my boyfriend and oh boy I havent been able to stop thinking about it!!! The food was amazing, the quality of the meat was good and the sizzling pork dish is to die forrrr! Not to mention, the amazing customer service we received, we have never been to a Korean barbecue and our waitress was so so lovely and helpful. There was another waitress who kept coming back to check on us and cook our food for us hahah! The staff definitely made it a great experience. They also had a free promo on at the time for a dessert so that was a lovely treat to top it all off. We will definitely be coming back, will be looking forward to it! Thank you

Steamed. Not a Korean restaurant. Unfortunately, this is a place where you can eat Korean food. I don't like kimchi stew, I'd rather have pork belly and budae stew. Or try Yangneom Galbi.

Been going here for years now. Came here yesterday and everything was still amazing as usual. Especially the service, they really make you feel welcome. Will definitely continue to eat here :) Fully recommend the beef ribs, they are so good.

The best food I've had so far in Leicester - I had the seafood tteokbokki (topokki), and my girlfriend had chicken cutlet fried noodles. They were both absolutely delicious and we got free sweet potato sweet water for pudding. Staff were great too. Will definitely be coming again to try out the paper BBQ.

Bibimbap is good, but the grilled meat is not delicious. The beef ribs are too marinated with loose meat powder. After grilling, you can swallow it without chewing and it tastes too sweet. The chicken tastes average, but the beef tongue is more delicious. , although it is paper bbq, the paint on the baking pan has peeled off, because the moisture during barbecue can easily tear the baking paper, so the meat will still be in contact with the baking pan. The staff is very enthusiastic to help with the barbecue, but... I prefer to enjoy it slowly I also hope that the stove can be replaced. The stove is out of order. In short, it is impossible to eat authentic Korean food in the UK. Hot food is okay, but bbq does not recommend it.

What a lovely experience! The service food venue and atmospheric were perfect. Our two young daughters (7&9) loved the Asian authenticity and BBQ experience and vibe. My daughter is half Vietnamese so she knew what to expect and we have experienced Korean BBQs in Vietnam so this was a great treat to experience the same in the UK and we were not disappointed. My brother and his daughter who love everything Asian were equally impressed as this was their first time at a Korean BBQ restaurant. The host was great and very helpful so was the waiter very attentive too. The food was cooked perfectly squid very crisp without grease and the meats were great and easy to cook under the guidance of the host. She made sure everything was cooked properly and knew when to approach the table watching from the background. We will definitely be going back to taste more dishes next holidays. Also parking is easy if you park in the shopping centre car park and walk 5 mins to the restaurant.

We came for my birthday as I have been wanting to try Korean bbq for a long time. The staff were great and very helpful the food was good. A great first experience!

I've just had my third visit to Oppa, and am happy to say that every visit has been a delightful experience. The service has been consistently attentive, the food comes quickly and has always been delicious and filling and it's quickly becoming one of my favourite places to eat. Also has plenty of options for when I've been with veggie and vegan friends. Updated edit: + 2 months on, I'm still coming here and just had the bbq meat meal, as always the service was attentive, the food delicious, the prices very agreeable and the experience just as delightful as ever.

I have ordered beef ramen which picture I saw on the menu, beef last looked amazing but when arrived it was mainly ligaments 🤢 full of cheap noodles and lacking of flavour. My partner had beef bulgogi which was tasty but quality of meat very poor . Will not eat there again , wasn’t offered discount or change of dish , room was cold , on the positive staff was nice and helpful

What an amazing find. The food was amazing (yay for vegan options!), it was good value, and the staff were genuinely some of the friendliest and most welcoming I've ever met. 110% recommend.

Wonderful little gem of a restaurant in Leicester. It is small, has a very friendly atmosphere, cannot fault the service the waitress we had was very polite, very helpful and attentive. The food was amazing, we had the kimchi pancake, toppocki with cheese and army stew. It all came really hot, and so tasty, the stew is best shared as it is alot. The spicy toppocki was on point, loved it. The prices are very fare. Had the Chinese tea which I enjoyed as I was driving and couldn't drink, but my daughter would recommend the soju, but be careful can be lethal (as my daughter can atest to). Overall a lovely place, and should be tried if you want the authentic Korean. Next time defo going to try the Korean BBQ as that looked amazing too.

Angela was an amazing waitress, really bright and bubbly from the off and even knew my other half would not finish her food - and that I inevitably had to pick up the slack. I of course was more than happy too, as the food was delicious :).

Upon entry was greeted by a woman who shoved the menu in my face and proceeded to take my order without me having a chance to review the menu . I had to ask to look at the menu again because was so rushed. Was then also made to pay up front when other customers paid at the end . Even had the cheek to ask for a tip twice prior to any service being provided .I travel across the UK and this a first for me. EDIT IN RESPONSE i was asked for a tip at the point of payment which was before any food or service was provided if everyone has to pay upfront then fair enough but you singled me out to pay upfront as other customers received there bill at the end of there meal.

The taste is average, the fried chicken is not like the Korean style, but the kimchi pancake is more delicious.

The owner lady was so sweet and cute and funny. She brightened up the whole restaurant! Well, we ordered a meat platter and some more vegetables and mushrooms. The portion was reasonable and the marinated meat was well done. Overall, I was happy with the price and the food. You should come and try, and maybe have a little chat with the owner lady! The staff team took care of us really well too.

Visited this place for the first time with a friend.We weren't planning on having anything heavy and were looking for places to just have some good dumplings.Being vegetarians,we didn't have many options on the menu and decided to order whatever was the best they had on their starter menu. Quickly, we were being judged for ordering just starters.The waitress was just walking in circles around our table and kept asking if there's anything else we wanted to order and she removed the menu cards although we requested to have one card on our table.We hadn't finished eating yet and the waitress was just in a hurry to remove our plates. I absolutely got frustrated with the way we being treated.Firstly,it's not our problem that the restaurant hasn't got enough vegetarian/vegan options also not all people want to have a 3 course meal.Also,a restaurant has to be open and welcoming to other ethnicities and not judge us by our looks and food preferences. I hope the restaurant understands what they've done and hopefully work on their customer service in the future.

Very delicious food and so many choices with a lot of vegetarian options. We chose the fried vegetable noodles and a kimchi rice dish. Both were quite big portions and tastes very fresh and delicious. Staff was also very friendly and helpful with explaining the different menu options.

Was lovely. Totally devoured my bowl of soup. I wish there was more rice tho. But regardless 10/10. Flavours, atmosphere and staffs are all beautiful.

first of all, step into oppa and we were FORCED to have this old dirty looking hand sanitizer that STUNK really bad!!! it made our hands sticky and smelly. i ignored it and thought the food would make up for this. we had ordered some meat platter and this big korean lady kept helping us WHEN WE DIDNT WANT ANY HELP , after the meat was cooked (i got food poisoning, hence why we wanted no help) we ate the meat however it didnt taste like actual meat. WOULD GIVE 0 STARS IF I COULD, NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN! EVER! 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Probably one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. Food and service is amazing, but it’s always somehow empty. Very underrated.

Wide ranging menu with a good vegetarian and vegan selection. Excellent service. Our group chose bibimbap and tepokki which were all good. I felt the sauce on the tepokki was a bit thin; I've had other versions which have felt more luxurious because they were thicker (of course I have no idea which is correct!).

Great food. Good price. Only downside was the lady kept coming to our table to cook for us. We really just wanted to enjoy grilling by ourselves. Maybe next time, they could ask if the customer needs some help? Other than that, it was great. We'll be back.

Absolutely delicious food served by friendly staff. The last Korean BBQ we had was back in East Asia and this certainly matches the authentic quality we experienced there. Very reasonable prices too for the quality and quantity of food you receive. If you’re in the Leicester city centre, this is the perfect place to take a break and experience a fun way to eat yummy food.

I am very fussy and particular with regard to service, cleanliness, etc, but nothing to fault here. And the nosh was delicious as well.

A bit expensive for a place to go regularly, but the place is awesome and it's a must to experience. We tried Korean BBQ where we cooked our own food, cool experience. A kind lady helped us a lot, showing how to use the stove, filled out tea and overall feelt like a mom that feeds her children. Very cosy and completely worth it.

Best new discovery of 2022 for me in Leicester! An authentic Korean BBQ. Unassuming but food is fresh and tasty, service is efficient and helpful. Great place to spend NYE! I highly recommend it.

Delicious!! Knowledge of food brilliant. Separate vegan and veggie menu, plenty to offer. Drinks really different so give everything a try. Reasonably priced we paid £20 per head for starters and main course. Went the following night too because it was so good. Can't wait to go again!

Portions were very small for bbq. I’ve been to a few kbbq places and wow I think there were like 5 pieces of pork belly each cut into 2. The pork bulgogi was also disappointing. Service was great though

Excellent restaurant. Very comfy and cosy atmosphere - 10/10 music choices. The food is so, so delicious. Staff are friendly and helpful. I've been here a couple of times with my mum and we both love it. The waitress who served us today was even kind enough to help my mum with her chopsticks as she wanted to try! Thank you. :) We'll definitely be back again and I would highly recommend giving Oppa a visit!

Very nice food. The bibenpap is sublime even there ramen is good. Korean bbq is good however its expensive. Flame indo grill has slightly better bbq. Used to come here as the manager called angela I think was great aswell. Last few times ive gone the atmosphere wasnt as good.Think management has changed.

Hands down the worst korean restaurant I've ever been to. Honestly don't understand the hype and high reviews. Slow service, got delivered the beef bulgogi about 20 minutes before even getting the rice to eat it with (bear in mind it's on a sizzling plate and the dish turned cold before we even got the rice to have with it). To top that the beef bulgogi (a prominent dish in korea) didn't even taste right. Overly salty, not sweet enough, beef was tough and not tender. Had the cheese pork cutlet with curry and rice, curry was warm and seemed like it had simply been microwaved. Pork cutlet also seemed old - meat was tough, breadcrumbing was bland and slightly overcooked too. Miso soup arrived lukewarm. Highlight of this dish was the side salad... Only mild highlight was the spicy beef stew, however that's kind of a given considering the restaurant is seemingly run by Chinese people, and that soup is of the same standard as szechuan dishes I've had before. To finish it off then retrieving they spilled soup on my trousers clearly knew what they did as they looked down at my trousers but didn't apologise. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. Pricey and not even authentic, I mean they can't even make bulgogi right... I fear for what their hot pot and grill is like.

I have googled restaurants and this one popped up. I was so glad to find this one. We have never tried Korean foods before, We were not sure what to order. Staff members were so kind enough to explain everything and served us beyond our expectations. The food was really delicious and amazing work from their chefs. The most important thing, it was so fresh and authentic. Please keep up the good work! Definitely recommend this place 1000%. You won't be disappointed.

Delicious food, excellent service

Didn't have a clue where or what to eat then stumbled upon this Korean place. It's comfortable to sit in, the food was great, the staff were very courteous and the owner was super nice and looked after us even in the smallest details.

Such a great experience, went with some friends and we all loved it, putting the bits of meat on the heat and sharing it together, we had that to start, then had main meal as well. It was all delicious and the staff were sweet as well! I will definitely be coming back, perfect for friends, couples or families, adding that little bit extra to the dining experience!

This restaurant offers extensive menu- a good mix of Chinese, Korean and Japanese. Owners are from China and Hong Kong. The staff are super nice and friendly. Great food and amazing choices. I wouldn't say the restaurant has a great decor however, it really didn't bother if you are there for a quick meal or simple dinner with family and friends. The staff were super nice to my son particularly. We were so impressed with their level of service, food quality and staff friendliness we ended up going there twice in 2 consecutive days!

Left hungry as the portions are very small, spent £12.80 on a main dish and got served about 4 pieces of pork which gave about 100 calories maximum.

It was the first restaurant I went to in Leicester and I always come back. Great location, great food, great service (lunch or dinner). The price is great considering the size of the portions. It is a very good experience. I recommend it.
