Kooshk in Brighton and Hove

Excellent Persian and other foods for breakfast or light lunch. I have also ordered a special takeaway aubergine dish (pre-ordered) that was absolutely delicious.

Freezing cold, and the staff were incredibly rude and watched YouTube laughing loudly sat around a table beside me. I’m not a killjoy but I was made to feel very unwelcome like I was interrupting their social time. Coffee is okay. Many other places much better very nearby. Didn’t eat anything.

We were very happy with our coffees and breakfasts.I had a vegetarian and my partner had a full English.The quality and quantity was as good as some more expensive cafes in town. Only downside is perhaps the atmosphere. All in all,we will return,thankyou.

While staying at the "Red Brighton Blue" the owner told us about this fantastic cafe, the english breakfast was fantastic, nice friendly staff, nice clean cafe with a good menu choice, prices were very good too for the quality. Will definately be back next time we are in Brighton and more than happy to recommend this cafe

I spent a few very pleasant hours in this neighbourhood cafe yesterday. The food and drinks were superb and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I needed to work a bit and the staff was very accommodating letting me charge my laptop when it ran out of batter. On a sunny day, with the bluest sea a short walk away this sort of place is the best of Brighton

Finishing the 54 mile London to Brighton bike ride I needed to recharge my batteries. Walking towards Brighton city centre I came across the Kiosk.uk. I found a friendly eatery which proved an excellent place to refuel. The tomato omelette with naan bread did the job of recharging my tired body, with a little bit of conversation and fresh figs this allowed me to ride the next 33 miles to Tunbridge Wells station. I will be back for more food

This is the most loveliest cafe I've ever been to. They are such an amazing family who always make you feel welcomed! Definitely be coming back here all the time and especially because they have games you can play with while enjoying your coffee / meal. Also so cosy inside :) ❤️

The breakfast was lovely and was their attention to detail. It was hot and presented well. As I hate cucumber I couldn't face eating the Persian breakfast so I went for the English. Staff were friendly but perhaps a few minutes too long waiting to take the order. I've had to deduct one star on atmosphere as the staff did not act quickly enough when the fire alarm went off. It was very loud.

I recently visited this charming, homey café and was thoroughly impressed. Their carrot cake was outstanding—moist, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The café offers a fantastic range of dining options including vegan and vegetarian,dishes, catering to all dietary preferences. A perfect spot for a cozy breakfast or a relaxing coffee break. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality food in a welcoming atmosphere.

I am not an expert in Persian breakfasts but what I had here was delicious and surprisingly satisfying. Would recommend everyone tries it. Photo doesn't show the fried egg

Unpleasant grumpy woman served me. When I said I only wanted tea she looked at me with contempt and 4 times said ‘no food?’ She made it very clear that I wasn’t welcome if I wasn't going to eat even though there were 4 empty tables. I got a similarly withering response when I wanted to pay by card as opposed to cash. She made me feel like I was wasting her time and she wanted me gone. I won’t be going back.

Great. Went twice for breakfast. Had the English breakfast first day (excellent) and then the Persian special another day. First time I have had clotted cream for breakfast but it was superb. Both times the cafe was really quiet, so not much ambience, but maybe I was there at odd times. Highly recommended.

Kooshk was amazing tried for the first time and ordered their Kooshk breakfast and Kooshk Meat and their Persian brew tea and it is superb my pallate was like happy for the different kind of experience.

Stoped by here for lunch before a hair appointment and I’m so glad that I did! Food is really great - I had the veggie breakfast and it was all well cooked. Arrived quickly and was a decent portion. Coffee was delicious and a decent sized nice large mug for the latte. Coffee and a full breakfast cost only £13.50 which is super reasonable in Brighton. Next time I will try the Persian speciality breakfast as that also looks delicious.

The food here is incredible! Like, something to write home about good. I would love to know their supplier as everything tasted of how good ‘used’ to. So full of flavour! Ate here every day of our four day stay. Wonderful food, superb friendly husband and wife team produce a Persian slant on traditional English breakfast. Copious quantities, excellent quality particularly the mouth wateringly good sausages and magnificent tomatoes, and all at a very reasonable cost. Cannot recommend highly enough.

It's no longer Cosiez, it's now Kooshk, a taste of Persia. Very nice

Came in for breakfast the other day, no one told us there would be a long wait...in the end it took just over an hour for 2 breakfasts. I never dreamt it would take so long and as a result I had to rush the food down so I could get to work. I understand its a small kitchen but would have been nice if we were informed. Eggs were a little under done, beans luke warm as plates were cold and they included mushrooms which I asked them to exclude which meant there was mushroom juice on my plate!

It’s been ages since we last visited Cosiez Cafe for breakfast, but we did this weekend & I’m so glad we did. It’s not the biggest cafe but it serves traditional, tasty, good quality food. There is a Good menu with a nice, varied selection of food. Meat esters, vegetarians & vegans catered for. We ordered 2 Americanos, a Cosiez’s breakfast & a vegetarian breakfast. There is a choice between a large & a regular breakfast. We chose the regular. My vegetarian breakfast consisted of 2 doorsteps of toast (choice of white or brown), a poached egg, halloumi, a veggie sausage, 2 grilled tomatoes & some mushrooms & baked beans. Nothing fancy but it certainly hit the spot. Nice big cup of coffee (nice coffee too not too strong or bitter). Really nice friendly service from the 2 chaps who work there. Nice atmosphere. Very well priced. Good quality, excellent value food. Worth a visit!

Came twice while we we on holiday in Brighton. Lovely fresh orange juice and a good traditional breakfast.

Really good food, coffee and juice, just the right size portions for a much needed brunch after a big night out. It took a while as they were very busy but the staff let us know and we weren’t in a rush. It is a little bit pricey but also good value for the quality and quantity. So not an everyday breakfast joint but nice for a treaty brunch. One smoked salmon and scrambled egg and one avocado and cheese rarebit with bacon. Both well cooked (little bit of charring on the cheese toast but not an issue for me). We’d definitely go again if hungry and in the area.

nice italian restaurant, generous portions, caters for most tastes and has a lovely traditional italian feel to the place. staff are friendly are location is great.

Service was speedy.I ordered a Carbonara and surprised to find it contained leeks which seemed strange and why change it from Spaghetti Carbonara?

Loved this friendly breakfast, brunch and sandwich bar in Kemptown, not far from the hospital. One of the best vanilla milkshakes I've had in ages!

Was here a couple of weeks back. Had the best vegetarian cooked breakfast to date. From the quality of ingredients to the quality of the cooking. Superb.

Being from the U.S. and never knowing what to order for a "plain cup of coffee" the sweet girl at the counter was so patient with me. She suggested a black Americano and it was seriously THE BEST cup of coffee I've had in my life! The little diner was full and everyone's breakfast looked and smelled delicious. I'll be back!

Perfect café for a Sunday breakfast, friendly staff, quick service and great food and clean. We had the smoked salmon and scrambled egg, the French, freshly squeezed juice and coffee. Portions were large enough that we won't need lunch. Highly recommend. 5*

Very disappointing - had the veggie breakfast with scrambled eggs, orange juice and sparkling water (£16.35). Frozen Linda McCartney veggie sausages used, in this day and age there’s no need for frozen foods to be used in a restaurant. Can’t understand the need to charge £1.50 extra for scrambled instead of fried eggs. Orange juice was lovely as it was freshly squeezed - however the waitress didn’t make a note of it the first time I ordered it and had to ask again. The staff were awful - anything left on my table was pretty much thrown at me and left at the opposite side of the table, no one spoke when leaving anything down. Staff weren’t very pleasant - waitress was a little dozie and looked like she’d never been there before and had no idea what she was doing or what people were asking for, woman making the coffees was very abrupt and matter of fact, actually kept her back turned to someone ordering take away coffees off her, man cooking very the friendliest but looked quite stressed and flustered. Even when paying there was no eye contact, no one asked me how everything was. I also didn’t get an avocado with my breakfast, which was on the menu! Quite a messy counter top at the back where food is being prepared. Also disappointed to see a packet of supermarket bought smoked salmon coming of the fridge - you’re by the sea, use fresh local bought/caught fish!! A lot of dirty cloths left lying around. Some of the food in the display was very dry looking and coleslaw was almost gone yellow. Would not recommend and definitely will not be coming back!

We had a short trip to brighton, our first time here, and we had brunch here twice- the owners are super lovely and hospitable and the food was great. A lovely little gem with really good prices too, definitely worth checking out.

The toast with cheese and onion was good :) The orange juice was very fresh! Unfortunately wanted soup but they didn't have.

I looked at the menu and some of the prices were reasonable while certain items over priced. 1 chai latte, 1 latte and 2 slices of fairly dry Christmas cake came to over £12.

Not only has the owner hiked up his prices he has also compromised the quality and the quantity. I have never seen such a meanly sliced piece of Halloumi in my life! The vegetarian sausage was clearly Linda McCartney and straight from the freezer and defrosted to a lukewarm temperature on the grill, the mushrooms tasted like tin ones, overall pretty disgusting and the meat version of the breakfast wasn't much better. I also noticed that the vegetarian breakfast was cooked on the same grill as the meat. That is totally disrespecting vegetarians choice. I will not ever return and will stick to Rust up the road which id consistent, good quality and reasonably priced. AVOID!

Fresh, friendly local cafe perfect for drinks, light bites and lunches.

Delicious made to order crayfish sandwich and a flapjack that was really buttery and the perfect texture. Sensible prices and good service too. We regularly visit Brighton to pet sit for friends and always visit Cosiez. Never disappointed.

This was a fabulous little cafe and so pleased we stumbled across it on our day out in Brighton. Basic little menu, but food was spot on, all locally sourced I'm guessing as the breakfast was very good, beautifully tasty sausage and bacon, and lovely deep coloured yolk on the egg. Toast was thick cut, tasty and delicious. The owner and staff were pleasant, welcoming and very polite and the cafe was spotless. Will definitely go back on a return visit to Brighton and recommend to friends :-)

Lovely full English breakfast, great value for money, and a excellent cup of tea

The place feels cosy and very homely, but once you sit down you realise this is not the case. The service is slow and even got the order wrong as well, but was quick to fix it. However with breakfast foods and sandwiches, if you were to wait for that extra egg the rest of your food will go cold. Even asking for the bill was a chore as we were sat opposite the counter and despite waving for 20 minutes, we were not seen. The food was average and doesn't warrant the price with it as it's just one tier above a spoons breakfast.

Not too bad for food but wait time was an hour and only 1 customer in front of me for breakfast and my order was panini not that i got that i got french stick..

Easy missable but this place Cozies on the corner was recommended and wow, definately worth tipping up.. These guys know how to put togeather some banging flavours:)) easy on the pocket too:) love this place.. Definately a well thought out brilliant use of space and menu planning:) should really be delli:)) but Cosiez Cafe does sound cooler:) Thankyou for restoring my faith in simplicity..
