Kolshi Premier Indian Restaurant in Kensington and Chelsea

We live in Stratford upon Avon, a tourist town, that according to official figures has 2.7 million visitors a year. As you would expect, with this many visitors the choice of places to eat is large and varied. Sadly, the one thing that the town now lacks is a good Indian restaurant. Yes, it has about 7 or 8 but none of them are great. For two decades it had a super one, but sadly we lost that due to a new road. Wellesbourne is about ten minutes drive from Stratford. A friend of ours who lives there recommended Kolshi to us, and it proved to be a very good recommendation indeed. We went on a Sunday evening and we were pleased. There is an excellent choice of very competitively priced starters and mains, with all sorts of rice and breads to accompany them. The staff were very welcoming and the service, like the food, was good. One thing to note is that the restaurant does not serve alcohol but they welcome you to bring your own so we took a few beers with us. Parking outside the restaurant is somewhat limited, but opposite is a Shell garage, and parking in the road alongside there was fine and it was a one-minute walk. Two key questions: Will we be going back? Definitely, we already have a date in our diary. Will we be recommending Kolshi to others? Yes, we already have.

The food was hot and delivered promptly. My review is 3 stars because I only got 3 king prawns in my curry. They're not huge prawns, so it was mostly just sauce. Is this a normal portion?

By far the best place to eat, we have been having a takeaway every Saturday night since they have opened. Staff are so friendly and welcoming they make you feel like family and the food is just outstanding. I would 100% recommend everyone to eat here.

Been here a few times now , it’s never improved if I’m honest , garlic chilli chicken , a little over powering and I like it hot , mushroom rice , really good, keema naan not so good , restaurant wise it’s a Very noisy environment, just too loud , never feels like you have much space either , never had an issue with the staff all very polite and professional. No real parking either . Definitely the 2nd best Indian restaurant in the village , I always aim for that one more closer to the roundabout

Visited with my husband and son tonight. Superb food. What I really appreciate is that as well as a great chef (s) the food is always prepared fresh at the point of ordering and it shows in every mouthful. The waiters are very knowledgeable about the menu and are always a joy. So friendly and attentive. Khan, one of the lovely waiters, gave us a very tasty and unexpected treat. Bet he's a whiz in the kitchen. Great food, team and chef, take your own alcohol, reasonably priced menu. Couldn't ask for more. So lucky we are only ten minutes walk away.

Busy Indian restaurant - large menu. Very reasonable. Big portions. We had a starter each, a side and a main and rice each which was far too much food and was £50. Big advantage you can take your own alcohol which really cuts down on the price. Tasty well cooked food.

We came here for my 40th birthday and had a really great evening. Everyone really enjoyed their food, it was very tasty and good portions too. The staff were really helpful and friendly and it's BYOB. What more could you ask for.

I have dined at Kolshi on probably 10 occasions. It has consistently been excellent. This is one of my favourite Indian restaurants. I am lucky enough to eat at some of the best Indian restaurants internationally, this restaurant in Wellesbourne is properly decent!! Service is superb, especially Kaz who is a star. Chefs genuinely understand spicing and seasoning. This is a top Indian restaurant and well worth a few miles out of your way.

Absolutely terrific food and service lovely atmosphere staff so helpful and very happy we were staying overnight in wellbourne and found this wonderful gem of a restaurant we will definitely be coming back

Had another great meal on Valentine's Night and even had a red rose from the lovely Khan. Worth mentioning that it is in Wellesbourne village, not Warwick as the address on TI displays. This may explain why Kolshi doesn't appear on the Wellesbourne search. There is plenty of parking and also a car park next to the village hall. Bringing our own wine really helps to keep the price down during these hard times.

Ordered via telephone for delivery told one hour was an hour and a half i called twice was told the same thing on it way, when arrived the poppadums were stale and soft the food was cold had to re heat and the onions and peppers were uncooked not the best will not be ordering again so sorry dont offer a service off you can’t deliver.

Fantastic meal. Brought our own drink and meant the bill was £70 for four meals + some sides. Really enjoyed the chicken xacuti that I had. Will be back v soon!!!!

This Wellesbourne restaurant is a real treat. I enjoyed delicious food and friendly service at a fair price and one can't ask for more in a neighborhood restaurant. I was especially pleased that Khan, the manager, recognised me and warmly greeted me when I arrived as I have been here a few times . I have recommended. the restaurant to a number of my local friends. Rick

I must admit to having Shah's takeaways due to a rather disappointing one from Kolshi some 4 years ago. We thought it time to try them again and booked a table. Well, we were so impressed with the food. The chef must be congratulated. I only hope the takeaways are as good. Thanks to Khan and the others for great service.

Awesome food! We just tried our luck and got a table for 5. They don’t serve booze but the petrol station over the road has a wide selection of beers and wines in the fridge.

First time here but it definitely won't be the last.We were made to feel very welcome,We had table in the window so we could watch the rain!!Service was very good had poppadoms and main courses with rice and naan bread All was beautifully cooked lovely and hot.. Very reasonably priced too..It was quite busy with take aways and walk in customers..Really good atmosphere too..Would highly recommend this place..You can take your own alcohol too !!

We made an online reservation for Friday night and the message on the website after the reservation was along the lines of "we will come back to you." Having not heard back, we arrived at the restaurant to be told that "we don't bother to reply to online bookings if we're fully booked," and "there are no free tables" (looking around a restaurant with about 8 to 10 empty tables - presumably for people who the restaurant could be bothered to reply to). So we can't be bothered to go back either.

Once upon a time was really nice but now very poor. They must now charge for delivery which is a shame. Will use shah from now on.

Absolutely brilliant food and great value. All courses were brilliant and very tasty. I especially liked the lamb chop.

Got a takeaway from here for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! Catered to my partners dietary requirements (vegan and gluten free) which was really exciting as its tricky to find places we can eat. Food arrived very promptly and they had even given us free Poppadoms with dips and a cadbury milk tray! Very unexpected but much appreciated and we could not fault the food. Will definitely be ordering again or trying it in person!
