Food was really sweet, not sure why would you cook spicy soup or curry with so much sugar. Service delivered by untrained staff-table of 8 getting the drinks served 2 by 2 as waitress unable to use a tray. Same goes for the manager. There is a show kitchen which produces so much noise with the extractor that you can hardly hear the ambient music and it is difficult to hold a conversation. The whole shop setting is with lack of coziness and it’s so empty from soft textures that it echoes like a bathroom. No check back on food. Still a full house which shows the low level of standards for restaurants in the area.

Food was prepared with a lot of sugar, to the point we didn’t need a desert. No check back on the starters or mains. Service fairly ok.

Couldn’t fault the food was 10/10! 🌟 Highly recommend the pork belly bites for starter was delish 🤌🏼 All the staff were lovely especially our waitress Audrey. Definitely worth a visit ❣️

We went to this restaurant for our Wedding Anniversary. I can only give praise. The waitress was very kind helpful and professional. The food was beautiful and delicious and it was obvious that everything was very fresh and clean. Add the comfortable seats and good views across Port Solent. Highly recommended.

Pretty average to be fair, food was average but not bad or amazing. Restaurant wasn't very busy for 7:30 on a Saturday night. Service was poor but food came out quick, after that it went downhill, had to ask for more drinks which I find annoying. Had to.ask for a desert menu and then had to.ask to.order desserts. What got my goat was the bill said tip was optional but they added it to the bill regardless. But staff were polite. Seats were a bit grubby and noticed old food on floor. The vibe i got from the "restaurant " a was canteen and certainly no atmosphere, 5/10 in my opinion..

Wow wow wow! Absolutely delighted with the food! Staff very polite and one thing I liked was that we were not interrupted with 'how's your food' while having a mouth full, we was just left to enjoy it! ❤️ (if any issues i would of just called staff over which id prefer to do) well worth the money, would highly recommend, great restaurant and will be visiting again 🥰

Excellent food however the service was not the best, we had to wait a while to be served and have our order taken. I understand it was busy however, it really let down the experience. Lots of tables inside and out- you will need to book. Free parking in port solent.

Went for a friends Birthday. The food is amazing! Went to and Stayed on the balcony in the sun for more drinks then it got cold and they were happy for us to go back in. The staff are so lovely and the fod is fantastic Can't recommend this place enough. Xxx

Was looked after very well by Csilla and although under pressure from a busy night she was absolutely charming. Starters were expensive for what they were but mains were very tasty and reasonable value. A very nice evening, a special thanks to Csilla 👍

Ordered a starter which on the menu said Vegetable spring rolls (4) when they arrived it was actually 2 cut in half which for £7.50 I thought was expensive.

Food was fairly good although nothing special. Restaurant was very noisy and it was difficult to hear each other talk on a two person table. It was a busy Saturday night but even so it made us want to leave as soon as we’d eaten. Lovely view from our seats by the window looking out in the marina

Visited with a party of four for a joint birthday celebration! Restaurant was very quiet with two other tables there so we had a nice seat by the window overlooking the harbour. Staff were friendly and attentive with fast service. Food was really good! Lots of choice on the menu and authentic dishes made us all very happy! This restaurant deserves to be busier in my opinion! Went here on a busy bank holiday weekend for our anniversary and Audrey and Rebecca’s service was amazing!

Impromptu night out with the Lady, very easy to book online. Warmly greeted as we entered. We were given a fantastic table for 2 over looking the water. Drinks were swiftly ordered by the helpful and knowledgeable waiting staff. We opted for the Mai Thai cocktails, which were delicious. The menu was not overwhelming with an incredible selection of dishes. It was nicely broken down, which made ordering very easy. My partner is a pescatarian and unable to eat any meat products, and the staff were amazing in catering to her. Needless to say, the food was incredible. I did manage to finish mine, but what my partner didn't eat we were provided with take out boxes to finish off later. In short, I would highly recommend.

Got a delivery, and I have to say was the worst Thai I have ever experienced. Greasy oily and the katsu sauce , like water with oil droplets in it. Roti , threw away, didnt have enough kitchen roll to drain the oil off.

Had a great family meal at this restaurant. Food was excellent and the service was superb despite being quite busy. Sat outside on the top deck as the weather was magnificent which added to the pleasure as the view was stunning.

Lunch was somewhere between fair and middling. I had the new starter of Pork Belly Bites. It was SO disappointing . Just a bowl of toughish "yesterday's " pork. My Other Half had duck spring rolls, which were....somewhere between fair and middling! They were dried around the edges and perhaps "yesterdays" duck. My friend had prawns thai-namite, which was by far the tastiest of the starters. A small effort for a starter of £7 would not be unreasonable, I feel. A dry bowl of slices of pork belly with zero seasoning is lazy! The main course of pork bard....didn't excite. It vaguely resembled the meat from school meals. . . Pre sliced and reheated. It was draped in a sauce which also tasted prepacked...too processed..no excitement. Visions of the school chef ladeling out the gravy sprung to mind!! The duck in tamarind sauce was dried out, and covered in a sauce which had a slight metallic taste. So much so, I looked this up and I read that it can be leaked from saucepans or the sauce needs more cooking. Did anyone taste that before it was sent out? Of course not it will be from a packet. Whatever way, it was not a tasty, exciting tamarind sauce. We were so disappointed. "Koh Processed" more than Koh Thai for me and not value for money. Are we planning a return? Nope! I give up on these darn franchised rip-offs. . Oh !! the half egg which decorated the pork dish was delicious!!

Arrived and they said we hadn’t booked, when I’d just spoke to a women on the phone half an hour before and booked, but they found us a table so was ok. Pad Thai was very greasy which was a shame and not much chicken. Curry was nice. Putting service charge on doesn’t make me want to come back. We’re not in the US, people get a normal hourly wage so putting an extra £8 on our meal isn’t it….. if I want to tip I will but it would never be £8? An hours wage to most and serving multiple tables so getting that off everyone ? People stuggling and eating out is a luxury now, but you’re making it so we can’t afford it and it will affect your business eventually when people stop coming as money gets tighter for everyone ……

Hi guys Second visit here , and again far from a disappointment!!! If you like Thai food, this is as good as ot gets, especially from a chain restaurant. The menu has a great and expansive selection, which they frequently add to, and everything arrives hot, crispy and tasty. One thing I would say though and should be taken into account , is this is commercialised Thai food, that is geared towards the British Market. If your looking for something more traditional and authentic then you'll need to seek out Saro's Thai Cafe. A few things to note: 1. It does get very busy, and can feel cramped and at times noisy. Obviously this is weekday dependent, however if your after an intimate, romantic meal, Fri/Sat night won't be for you 2. The cost of a pint is excessive at £6.95 for a Singha, especially when you can get this for 3 for £6 500ml bottles at tesco. That aside, if you can live with that, it's a great meal, and the I've always found the staff to be super friendly.

Out for wife's birthday as been many times before . On one of coldest nights of the year went in sat down orderd meal after a while noted restaurant cold food came but by time we finished meal , we were very cold did not even finish bottle of red wine as wine in glass was so cold . Did not stay for dessert as wanted to get home to warm up.when paying spoke to the young lady she said heating broke down in afternoon asked why did not tell us before sitting down got no response or any apology. Emailed their customer service team and they have not bothered to respond Disappointed with customer service

Visited on a wet and blustery Saturday afternoon so no nice views across the marina, but the excellent food more than made up for it. My 1st time in a Thai restaurant and it won't be long until I'm back. Friendly helpful staff and a delicious red chicken curry, perfect. Eating area is upstairs and the lift was broken so a bit of a challenge with my mobility problems, but well worth the struggle.

Very reasonable and tasty food. The massaman curry was lovely, proper Thai stick rice too. Highly recommend, nice setting and good service.

Let me start by saying it was 1345 and the restaurant was roughly 50% capacity. The waiter sat us at our table swiftly and gave us time to decide just what we were going to eat and drink. Orders were placed and food was sent out in a decent time. With the food in front of us we tucked in. Pad thai and koh basil stir fry were our dishes. The pad thai was presented well and looked super inviting unfortunately that's where it ended! A tasteless dish from start to finish. The stir fry was sadly very much the same scenario! Overall this restaurant only gets a 3 star as you eat out for tasty food but this was not the case. The waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was nice but the food was very disappointing.

Amazing find. I had roasted duck, and it was lovely. My vegan guests had a good choice, too. Price is reasonable, and the cocktails and mocktails are something to try. Yep. This is one to return to.

Had the most amazing meal here with my sister a while ago and planning to go back again soon. Five stars from me!

Great food and beautiful surroundings.

I personally love thai flavours and this place is perfect for thai food. Lots of choice, every item on the menu looks tempting. Really big portions so bear in mind before you order lots of starters like we did! A huge choice for cocktails/mocktails. This is a newer Koh Thai as there is another one in Southsea. I prefer this one as there’s parking at Port Solent.

Service was great but food has issues. Som Tam has no papaya but bitter swede instead ! Grilled pork was burnt and served. If you know your Thai food you will be disappointed. But if was full on a Monday night so what do I know!

One of the best places around, could not fault the food, was so nice, ALL staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Cocktails are delicious too - will be returning asap!

Restaurant half full on arrival. Seated quickly. Fabulous views over marina.Took 20 minutes to take our order. Drinks took another 10 mins (good cocktails). Starters another 15 mins. Mains a further 20-30 mins. A bit slow. Not sure if this was under staffing. On the plus side, starters were very good. One of the two mains was very good. My katsu chicken was overcooked. No one asked how our meals were. Had to go and pay at till as no one came and we had been seated 90 mins by that point. A bit disappointed overall as really looking forward to eating here. May have just been having a bad day, but service on all other tables appeared slow. May give them a second chance.

Myself and my wife visited koh thai for a birthday dinner the service from start to finish was outstanding, my wife was given a complementary glass of processco. The food was out of this world and allowed us to explore our taste buds.

Service was far too slow, the cleanliness was questionable, the food was average and the drinks were overpriced in my opinion. Overall I'd rate this place a 5/10, probably wouldn't recommend in a hurry.

Had a wonderful pre cinema meal here on a Saturday night. Superb view of the marina and food that was superb. The service was great too...they helped us choose our meal, were efficient and friendly and made sure we left on time for the cinema. Will definitely be back!

We had been to the WInchester restaurant and that was good. Based on the boardwalk at Port Solent - plenty of car parking available. Many access points onto the boardwalk, even for those who have some mobility issues. The restaurant have outside lower dining area, inside lower level dining area and then the same upstairs. There is a lift to the upstairs inside of the restaurant. The team are all friendly, professional and attentive. The menu and food are very good. Drinks range is very good also there is something for everyone. I would highly recommend a visit.

Great views over the marina on a sunny day. Warm welcome. Very dry chicken satay and the miniscule cocktail was masked by so much ice. So slow getting the bill out, went up to the counter in the end. Very lack lustre for the cost.

Very disappointed with the food as it was too SALTY and a bit of PLASTIC as well found in the food. Not good however stunning view of the sunset over the marina. I doubt 🤨 I will go back.

We have been here twice and it has become our new favourite place to eat. Staff are very friendly and the food is amazing.

We were here for lunch in a sunny weekday, there were not many guests, only three tables of them, the place is very cozy with great harbor view. Waiter is very friendly and kitchen is fast to serve what we ordered. We ordered Green Curry Chicken with rice, recommended. Tom Yum Soup, it’s a bit too sour, not every one can accept it. It’s a great place in a sunny day.

Not sure why there so many negative reviews, the food we ordered was great, the ice teas really good as well. Starters were nice and the mains were very tasty, someone in the reviews said the Tesco curry is better than the restaurant one, maybe those people should just eat at Tesco then. Our curry was amazing. Will come back for sure.

Great food but service was awful. We went on a Thursday at 7.30pm and when we got there the lady might as well have rolled her eyes at us for turning up. We were basically ignored unless we asked for someone to serve us. When we asked for the bill the other waitress made a grunt at me and walked off. I wasn't even sure if she understood what I said. I asked for a box to take away the rest of my food as there was loads left over. The manager brought over a box for me and walked off. I didn't really fancy scraping my plate into a box Infront of everyone. Isn't is normal for staff to take the food and box it up for you? I'm not sure but it definetly made me feel uncomfortable! They when the bill came out they added 10% on top for service! Very cheeky :)

Just had a meal at Port Solent Koh Thai, I had the vegetarian Katsu curry and you could not put your fork in the butternut squash as it was raw! My husband had the Red Thai and he said he had better at Tesco ready meal! Waiting staff were pretty much non existent, Will not be returning that’s for sure.

Fantastic food and great service!

My friends and I had late dinner here and we were the last customers. The ambiance is fine. Food wise, the taste did not meet expectations. It was way below average. Im asian btw, so i have asian taste buds. We know our thai food. I had their star dish, grilled chicken with coconut rice - Dry Chicken, Dry Rice. It tasted bit off that I actually felt sick and it all came back out few minutes after leaving the restaurant. Laksa- very watery and bland. We had a few starters too. The aubergine pao was alright. The aubergine battarted and fried was okay but the pao tasted store bought. Prawn Dumplings were not served hot enough. Overall, the food was very disappointing. The staff were nice tho. I would not come back again.

Lovely food, good service but quite expensive.

This is different to the Southsea restaurant, the atmosphere feels more laid back but the food is just as amazing and the cocktails great as always!

My wife and I ate here tonight and weren't impressed. To begin I have to say that the service was excellent. They have a young, mostly European serving staff and they were polite and attentive, no complaints there. The big shame is the food they are serving. The chicken satay were dry and didn't taste that nice. The duck rolls were ok, probably the highlight of the meal. Then I had a stir fry that was a lot hotter than it suggested on the menu. I can eat hot food but this was a lot hotter than I wanted for this evening. I eat a lot of Thai food too so it's not my palate. The massaman curry tasted alright but just had potato, little onions and peanuts in it. It was quite watery too. Overall despite the good service it wasn't an experience we'll be looking to repeat. This is pretty much in line with a lot of the restaurants in Port Soient, more about making money from undiscerning clientele than about serving good food.

Very disappointed with the food. It was nothing like authentic Thai food. I had the Pad Thai, it tasted like sweet and sour noodles. Such a shame as it was my mums birthday meal. Atmosphere was very bleak.

So good we went twice in five days! Food was tasty, hot and fresh. Generous portions so don’t over order. Over the two sittings we had the Thai crispy beef, red dragon spare ribs to start followed by Massaman curry, Red Thai curry & prawn Pad Thai. All excellent! Didn’t realise it was part of a chain of five. This one should have some form of formal accolade. Service was very good too. Attentive but not overbearing. Vista over the marina is lovely.

Visited first time today with my partner. The food was absolutely delicious we ordered a few different starters/mains just to tingle our taste buds with the taste of Thai! Along with the food being amazing the cocktails were delicious. The staff were beyond friendly and made our visit comfortable and helped us whenever we needed it. Last but not least we was pleasantly suprised with the overall price. We will be back very soon! Thank you to the chefs and members of staff.

Great food and the customer service was on another level.

I choose not to eat gluten or dairy and their allergens policy is the best I’ve seen. So clear what we could eat and every choice we made was amazing. Lovely food, great service, can’t fault our evening at all, thank you for making it stress free, easy and delicious

Food was amazing (apart from the potatoes, which looked and tasted like they'd been nuked a few too many times) Service was very slow and the cocktails were pretty poor. The duck rolls and Pad Thai were delicious.

Had a great experience here - pre booked and mentioned it was a special visit and the staff at Koh Thai made it a special experience for us! Thank you for that. Not only that but thought the food was spot on (delicious) and drinks were very tasty, too. Overall very impressed and will be back soon :)

We didn't book and they seated our party of 7 straight away. Food and drinks were great and reasonably priced.

Good Food, Bad service. The food was great - we had duck rolls and ribs to start with. And then Singapore noodles and a curry. Was all absolutely gorgeous. Decent portion too. The service to start with was great. However got worse throughout the evening. We had starters and were asked if we’d like a couple of plates as we were sharing. We said yes please, and were told he’d go and get the plates now. The plates didn’t come, so we ended up starting on them anyway. I asked for some water 3 times, all of which were responded to with “yes of course, I’ll get that right now”. It still didn’t come so I went inside to ask for some water again. It was really difficult trying to get the waiters/waitress’ attention. We were sat outside with 4? Other tables, but there were 3 members of staff regularly outside. Don’t get me wrong - the staff were very polite. It just left us disappointed.

Had a lovely evening. Great service. Yummy cocktails. And food was great. Being able to look over the marina made it even more lovely. Definitely recommend.
