Don't bother coming to this Cafe. The service was poor and food was poor. We visited the Cafe after a walk on the beach but was met with dirty tables that had not been cleaned, staff stood around talking in little groups. I had to ask for the table to be cleared and cleaned. Ordered a small breakfast and a double egg on brown toast. + 3 sausages for our dogs. Sausages was overcooked, like they were underneath a lamp to keep them warm, toast was toasted too much it crumbled away and was a bit burnt. The eggs was also like being left under a lamp due to staff not paying attention. when aske to order ice cream we were met with a sour face from more than 3 staff who was just standing around taking. Staff were young and didn't seem like they wanted to work there. It's a shame for the cafe because it's in a very good place but we will definitely not go back.

We had been going for the last few years, but we won’t be going again. The staff didn’t care and it was obvious. The food selection was mundane and the quality low. The price was higher than appropriate and the whole cafe was a disgrace. Health and safety would have shut I’d down if they had seen it. We will never go in again.

Egg muffin - pretty good, beans on toast - ok (thin sliced bread toasted) and tea for two. Service by teenagers with zero interest in hospitality. As tables were vacated, NONE were cleared until next people’s order was delivered. No tables wiped down even when the youth brought a paper cup of ketchup and upended it. Waiters would deliver an order then walk back past tables needing clearing, look at them and not carry anything back! Gormless!

This place couldn't run a p*** up in a brewery. They are so disorganised and there is no structure or direction. There are lots of young people I'm sure trying to do their best but with no supervision they are all over the place and nothing flows. Management you need to sort this out it is so off putting. It makes me want to get behind the counter and show some leadership.

Arrived at 1.45 on a Saturday and found about 10 tables occupied so not really very busy. 10 mins later our order was taken and within 5 mins drinks arrived. During this period of 15 mins the cafe got quite busy and after about 10 mins we noticed that people who arrived after us were being served with their meals. When we enquired about this we were told there was a delay in cooking of 40mins which made no sense as people were still arriving and ordering food which was delivered while we continued to wait, Eventually, after making another enquiry with a young lad our food arrived almost an hour after our arrival, The food was good but expensive and we will not be going there again. Payment has to be made at the till/takeaway order counter so when busy it means a long wait just to pay Surely they- must be able to come up with a better system for processing orders/payment

There were about 6 people serving and about 4 times that number in customers, The service is agonisingly dreadful, They just aren't organised, without much idea, not cheap either,at £2.60 for a cup of filter coffee, One chap waited 1 hour and 10 minutes to receive a cold cup of coffee, Lake District prices,3 rd world service,on a good day. Go somewhere else,do yourself a whopping great favour. Ps, they close soon too, Seems they aren't too concerned about getting nor keeping customers.

I booked a table for 5 people for my family visiting. We waited 50 minutes for food without explanation The cheese on toast had a thin layer of cheese The cheese and apple panini had very little cheese and 4 tiny quarts of apple The only dishes cooked correctly were the frozen chips. The two girls serving couldn’t give a damn nor did they seem bothered about their jobs They have a wonderful location but need to offer the service for repeat custom!!!

Sadly since the change of ownership this once remarkable cafe serving good home cooked food is not worth a visit. We found the menu limited and ordered sandwiches - ham and an egg mayonnaise, with a side dish of chips. The menu stated that the ham was home cooked and I beg to differ as it was typically the cheap supermarket plastic-type ham. I gasped in horror at the egg mayonnaise, it looked awful and it was. The order took 55 minutes to arrive and the cafe wasn’t particularly busy! This length of wait is not acceptable and no explanation or apology from either of the two young waitresses was forthcoming. Never again, I’m afraid.

Unreliable. The cafe is regularly closed when it should be open, resulting in a wasted journey. I phoned yesterday during advertised opening times to check if they were open, no answer. Took a risk to find them open. I actually called whilst there and during a time when staff were twiddling their thumbs and no one answered the phone. Sort your self out or you will lose a lot of regular biker clients.

In a prime spot, overlooking the Wyre estuary and close to the ferry slipway, this café was clean and welcoming, with a fair range of breakfasts, other light meals and sandwiches. The warm roast beef baguette was well-filled and tasty, served with a small salad and coleslaw. I was offered an add-on bowl of soup at a small cost, which was a good idea when a northerly breeze was blowing. The two girls serving the food were both pleasant and efficient. Clearly, many locals use this place, which is as good a recommendation as anything.

We have visited this cafe for about 15 years but today 4 of us were so sorry to see a decline in standards and a poor menu compared with pre-Covid. Our friends ordered sandwiches but told the Cole slaw was not available. The meal was consequently dry. The omelettes we ordered were poor - a slice of poor quality ‘plastic’ ham place across the centre. The chips were OK. The only other hot meal offered was fish and chips. Some other customers were told that bacon was not available. If customers remember a well structured menu with several hot-dishes and some lovely sweets - such as pie and custard, then like us you won’t visit again. The present regime have ruined what was once a very pleasant experience- we warn discerning customers to steer clear of Knott End cafe.

We went into the cafe chose a table near the window, looked at the menu's on the table found it a little expensive for what they were offering, it took a while for someone to take our order I ordered the full breakfast and my partner ordered double egg and chips, the food came after about 15 minutes the eggs cooked nicely the chips were not nice cheap frozen type, my breakfast looked OK until I started to eat it mushrooms were under cooked baked beans had no juice on them half a tomato burnt on one side but raw all the way through bacon was hard toast was the cheapest nasty bread with cheap margarine on the egg was ok, but what totally ruined the whole experience was that all food was served on cold plates so after a few minutes the meals were cold, I did point it out to the lady behind the counter but wasn't interested at all, so won't ever be going again and certainly wouldn't recommend to eat at this place. Such a shame the cafe is in such a nice position next to the jetty, could be a little gold mine but not a chance of that the way it's operated.

We decided to brave going out for a ride to Knott End. When we realised the cafe was open we decided to try eating out again after lockdown. We were greeted at the door by a friendly masked member of staff who offered hand sanitizer and asked if we could leave our name and contact number. We could choose a table, choose from a paper disposable menu and one person order and pay at the shielded counter. Our meal of a Lite breakfast and omelette, chips, salad with pot of tea and hot water were served freshly cooked. Tables are well spaced out and both tables and chairs wiped after each customer leaves. There’s also tables outside. Toilets were clean and provided plenty of wipes, sanitizer etc. Overall its the first indoor experience I’ve had recently were I felt safe not like going in shops or supermarkets. Thank you to the staff.

Cafe not busy when we entered, and we selected a table and sat down. Apparently the orders are taken at the table. We'd been sat down for quite a while, waiting for some attention from the assistant who clearly knew we were there, as she'd directed us to sit down, when 9 cyclists came in, went to the counter and started to place food and drink orders. The assistant indicated to the cyclists that there might be quite a wait for their food due to their orders - not as long a wait as we would have had, however, as the assistant had chosen to serve 9 customers before us, even though they had entered the cafe almost 10 minutes after us. There needs to be a clear rule - either everyone orders at the counter, or no-one does. We won't be back.

3.30pm. Filthy wet Saturday afternoon. KE sea front. "We'll grab a cuppa . Closes at 4"In we go . "Sorry we're closing"."But it says 4pm..." " We're going home. No customers now (valid point, except that there was still one customer - tables had not been cleared)"We only want 2 cups of tea and that piece of lemon meringue that is already on display in a dish ready to eat. Don't expect anything cooked. It's only half 3. We will only be 5 minutes""NO WE'RE NOT SERVING YOU! You can eat it outside."At which point I'd have gone but partner's eyes were fixed on the lemon meringue. The upshot was that one of the girls (friendly , helpful and maybe rather embarrassed by Madam Boss's rudeness) transferred the said meringue into a polystyrine container, served 2 teas into similar cups, and we sat in the car and consumed. We finished 5 minutes later and inside tables still hadn't been cleared.I've been coming to this cafe under its different generations of family owners since the 1950s off and on and though more recently the food has usually been ok the current boss has always had something of an edge about her manner and on previous occasions has turned people away well before closing time but this is by far the worst.Next day we went to the nearby Bourne Arms.(qv)

I was looking to have my Sunday morning breakfast by the sea and could have easily gone to the South Shore but decided I needed something different and I certainly got it. First it was a very cold November morning but a beautiful deep blue sky. I found the cafe I was looking which is a meeting point for motorcyclist as well as cyclist, local and tourist. I was served very promptly and courteously and served great food and superb friendly service in a picturesque part of this area. The cost was very reasonable. The addition was great vistas plus you can get a ferry to Fleetwood or visa versa to get here. To be far a longish ride or drive if your staying in the North/South shore area but for me it was worth it!

This is cycling distance from our cottage (Deekswood - 5-star, see my review) and is justifiably included in the cottage owner's "recommended" list. It's not pretentious, and it does say that, as all food is cooked to order, there will be a delay - so, not a "fast food" place, but who needs that in Knott End? Good food, plenty of it and reasonable prices - budget, almost. Strongly recommended unless you're in a rush

How wrong I was. To be honest I nearly collapsed when she asked for £7 for the pie, but I thought ok it’s a one off and I really fancied some. An extortionate price though all the same. We couldn’t eat it ,it was absolutely vile. The pastry was soggy on the bottom. There was a thick skin on the lemon mixture, well actually I’m not sure there was any lemons in it, it was gloopy and bland. The meringue was just passable. At 355 PM an elderly couple entered, their regulars from the looks of it, they asked them what they wanted, the lady ordered two different pudings and savouries, and coffees, and they were served everything they asked for. I went to the woman who served us and brought it to her attention. She again had no interest, briefly said that it was not her decision. I asked to speak to the manager and she just said she was waiting for us to leave so she could close. We sat at a table and realised although it says table service no one asked for our order therefore we went to the till area and ordered two coffees and scones which were reasonable for the price the cofee was average ..scones slightly dry and cream perfect and also had a slice of the bakewell tart -courting cake as written which was average with a cup of tea. There wasn't a lot of choices in terms of cakes I am not sure if it was near closing time or whether it was normal for the place. The coffee shop would be perfect for bikers looking for a cup of tea in a metal tea pot however if you are looking for a luxurious afternoon tea go somewhere else . We noticed there was a menu on the table for some sandwiches and hot food .. for where it is placed I would say average slightly pricey for what you get but friendly polite staff made up for it.

The food was nice but the waiting time was atrocious and took the enjoyment out of a relaxed lunch as I was annoyed by the lengthy delay.

We called for lunch, my mum and dad had ham and mustard sandwiches, the mustard was missing, they were alright. I had hot beef baguette which was lovely. For the price we paid it was ok.

Hubby and I moved to Hambleton last year, and have visited this Cafe approx a dozen times .It seems to be deteriorating to be honest. We have visited for lunch or afternoon snacks mainly.Yesterday[9th July]we went at about 2.30 pm,and had a roast chicken dinner,a chicken and bacon salad ,a milk shake and a coffee[cost £21]Well ,firstly our table was so sticky ,and dirty I asked the sullen waitress to wipe it,which made no difference as was just given a quick swipe! When the waitress took our order she looked bored and was unsmiling. My milk shake was in a small wine type glass.charged about £2.50 for it!Our meals were just ok My veg was soggy and the stuffing!Hmmm!A dollop of brownish sloppy mess!Hubbys salad just ok.i Struggled to cut my chicken with a normal not serrated knife to be honest.Plenty of nice cafes in Poulton and Cleveleys so im afraid we wont be back! Seemed plenty of young staff carrying on their own chit chat, but all scatter when you went to counter to pay!

Some bad reviews of this place recently. As a fairly frequent customer, I really don't find anything to complain about.

I have visited this cafe several times before with my mum and had a warm welcome. The cafe was very busy today, we found a table only to be told we could not sit there, no reason why. We placed our order at the counter and sat and waited for 35mins. I then ask if our food would be coming soon. An older lady came to our table I guessed either manager or owner, informed us that they had sold out of one of the specials that we ordered, so I chose an alternative. Another 15mins later our food arrived that was nearly 1 hour waiting. The food was average. While waiting for our food at least 5 people walked out of the cafe without an order being taken. As there was a difference in price I went to the counter and asked for a refund of £1.45 the lady on the counter had to work it out and gave me my refund. No apology, no comment except they have been busy. I am sorry that is no reason for very poor service. From reading other reviews on this site I feel this cafe is under new management and cannot get there act togethe. My advice do not waste your time or money go elsewhere.

This cafe used to get good reviews so I thought I would give it a try . We wished we had not bothered, the menu was not up to much so my wife said she would just have a cream scone and a tea. When the scone came it with individual pots of jam & so called cream.Turned out it was foam cream ! in the write up on the menu it states they have been selling scones for over 50 years and that the same family had run the business all that time so you would expect them to know how to make a jam & cream scone by now.

Popped in a week ago for a coffee and snacks. Was disappointed as the special mentioned that you get a cuppa and a cake from the cabinet only to find out that it is only the cabinet with the cheap cakes that are included and not the ones that you see as soon as you walk into the cafe.

Nice to have a stroll along the front looking across to Fleetwood. Then pop in to the café for some refreshments. Good menu and good quality produce.

Called in on Easter Sunday initially for a cup of tea ended up having hot beef baguette with onions & gravy. Services was quick food was lovely & will definitely go again. The only downside was the metal teapots not practical these days nice teapots would go better.

It was my second visit today, last time I had a delicious bacon barm cake( bap) which was stuffed full of bacon and this time I went for the sausage barm cake, which was stuffed full of sausages, totally delicious. I went back for lunch and that did not disappoint either, I had roast Chicken dinner my colleague homemade Cottage Pie. The food was quick to come, freshly cooked, homemade stuffing with my chicken and freshly cooked veggie. Very generous portions, delicious. The chef there makes all her own cakes and pies as well and the Lemon Meringue Pie is huge and fluffy and scrumptious. Tis is probably one of the best cafes I have eaten in for a long time. Good decently freshly prepared food, lovely helpful friendly staffed and reasonably priced....I am looking forward to m,y next visit!

This is a very typical English café - tea, coffee, snacks and some main meals as well. The staff were friendly, and the place reasonably busy on a mid-week morning, which is a good sign. The tea was nice and strong (this is Lancashire after all) and the scones tasty. On the downside the table was sticky & could have done with a wipe down, and it was a bit noisy with a large group of very jolly ladies on a nearby table. Good views (if you're near the window) over the bay, good place to wait for the ferry, easy parking.

good breakfast, nice and clean premises just let down by the awful tinned mushrooms - at least fry them in butter for a bit. Otherwise a pleasant meal

Called for a light lunch.Place was clean with table service and there were plenty of spare tables.Ordered cheese toasties with chips and it was quickly served and tasty.Menu was ok but a tad pricey. My main gripe was with the staff who were efficient but lacked a degree of friendliness. It appeared as though "I've served you now I can leave you".Overall though it would not stop me visiting again.

An ideal outing from Blackpool for a day for us was to take the bus from the Blackpool tower 2c in corporation street and drive out to the countryside and enjoy a lovely cup of coffee and cream scones at knott End Cafe.

Called here today for the first time. Sadly although the tea and coffee were just fine as was the Lemon Meringue the cutlery and tables were dirty and very sticky. It was not busy and staff were gossiping in the back rather than clearing tables and making the place look respectable. Most of the free tables has spilt food on them and your arms and hands stuck to the tables. Could do better. Probably wont go again.

My husband and I called in for lunch today. It was my husbands choice. For some reason he really enjoys it. Whenever we've been before it has had a elderly vibe & the food was mediocre bordering on boring. Today however - we were met with by a fabulous guy with personality - Dan who was charming & not sycophantic & knowledgeable about the menu & ingredients. The visit was a joy! The food - we both had the creamy fish pie - was delicious full of naturally smoked flaky fish, three different types of veg! All in all a very unexpected pleasant experience and very reasonably priced! We will return and I won't try to persuade hubby to go somewhere else! THANKS DAN!

Cleveleys has been a favorite day out location for myself and my wife since the Covid lockdown ended in 2020. With overseas holidays severely restricted we just jumped in the car and headed to the coast and Cleveleys was on the list. 6 miles from Blackpool it does not appear to be swamped with tourists but has fantastic beaches and relatively new promenade which is brilliant for walking, cycling, great for kids on bikes & scooters etc. You can walk to Blackpool in about 2 hrs and also to Fleetwood same distance with excellent promenades to both destinations, both excellent walks and trams available to bring you back to Cleveleys. Cleveleys itself is a busy town with plenty of eating places, pubs & bars, cheap & mid range with tourist shops, M&S express etc this is not a stylish place with great nightlife and high end bars etc but it is a great old style seaside town, great for young kids who want sand, sea, plenty of open spaces for games and chips!. There are plenty of cheap places to eat, plenty of takeaways, try Bean's Bakery for pies, cakes etc brilliant old fashioned tasty foods!. Overall, Cleveleys is a great place for a day trip or holidays for young families not wanting the noise & cost of Blackpool, its close enough to visit if you want. Love it!!!
