The service was brilliant and the food was nice. The hot chocolate was a bit cold but enjoyed anyway. The main complaint is that the whole time I was here there were screaming babies and toddlers running riot, scaring the cats. It's cruel. It's ultimately on bad and lazy parents but an age limit of 12+ really needs implemented. Other visitors are rude too, climbing over me to pet cats as if I'm a piece of furniture and not a person.

Me my mom and friend came for a bit of lunch out for my birthday, first of all the welfare charge was a little excessive, we got taken to our table nice comfy, service a little slow and abit overwhelmed. Cats about some hiding high as there were children everywhere shouting and chasing the cats! Went through to the toilet wasn’t sure if we was allowed to let the cats through, to be then rudely spoken to by who I think to have been the manager saying well yeah can’t you read the sign… she then proceeds to speak about us at the desk saying can people not read signs. How rude! Honestly I won’t be returning, I feel very sorry for the cats.

I booked here for lunch having a mum and daughter day shopping trip. After reading reviews I was a bit dubious but still booked as my daughter is animal mad. We arrived earlier than our booking but we're dealt with promptly and efficiently. I had done my research so was aware of the welfare fee charged on entry. Being a Saturday lunch time and the first weekend of the summer holidays I expected things to be quite chaotic. This wasn't the case at all. We were seated quickly and all the staff were very attentive. My daughter had the most amazing time, and the coffee was very enjoyable. My only criticism was the service as it was a bit slow but we didn't mind too much as gave my daughter longer to enjoy the cats. Overall we were very pleased and had a lovely relaxed lunch.

The cafe is awesome so many cute cats as well hot chocolate has to be one of the best I have ever had. So nice to be able to just sit and relax and then be able to walk around and stroke the cats.

Absolute JOKE Staff: didn’t listen to anything you said and wasn’t at all attentative, one of them stunk the place out with her BO The charge: chocking charge to get in! And not voluntary either! It was obviously spent on the interior decorating which was lovely The food: £1 frozen Aldi pizzas converted with new toppings that fell off when u try cut it! a pizza charged at £10 which was the biggest thing on the menu but they had no pizza cutter or even scissors to cut it with!? Skin on fries weren’t even cooked through, still cold on inside from being frozen. The cats: we saw 2 cats in the hour we were in there and they were both hiding as the place was full and nobody cared about the rulebook that we had stuck in our faces on arrival. So me my friend and our 3 kids spent £100 in that place and we were all super disappointed when we came out of there! We tried to tell the staff who only said speak to manager, we made complaints online, didn’t even get a response! In our opinion this is NOT a charity and it is not force charging families to care for cats, it’s making money for their business! NEVER AGAIN

Lovey cuppa and strawberry milkshake. Super cute cats in abundance. Lots of escape routes for the cars if they want some quiet time away from the customers.

Food was vile, service appalling and the toilets filthy. The cats were lovely but zero attempts were made to actually ensure the rules for their welfare were enforced. We went a couple of years ago and the cakes were lovely but now are dry, not very tasty and are poorly presented. They are bribing for good reviews.

we were greeted with a service charge of £8 each which isn't explained on the website, but hey ho lets go inside!! loads of young kids annoying the cats so the cats wandered off into their escape hatch that leads to a room where no people can go a kid was annoying a sleeping kitten in a bed so we went and picked up the bed and put it on our table to give it some peace, however 5 mins later a staff member came over and said that its not allowed so she took the cat comfy in its bed and put it on the floor next to the young kids who immediately woke the cat up and annoyed it so it too escaped through the hatch - leaving no cats my daughter eventually found one and picked it up and was stroking it and brought it over to our table and it was playing with a ball on the sofa with us, again the staff came over saying you shouldn't pick them up - she then PICKED IT UP!!!! cos shes so almighty and well trained in cat picking up and graduated with a degree in cat pickerupage and mere peasants like us couldn't possible pick up a cat we left

We were so excited for this but were underwhelmed unfortunately. On arrival we were told we had to pay £40 as a welfare fee. This was not given as an optional donation and was on top of the very expensive food which was normal food you’d find at a playgym. The food was not served hot, no sauces offered, the pizza came without it being sliced so we spent most of our time trying to cut it with a blunt knife as the staff said they didn’t own a pizza slice. Nobody asked us if everything was ok with our meals and there was an extreme about of melted cheese on our sandwiches. All standard stuff that could have easily improved our visit had they invested a little time and effort into the service provided. The staff seemed stressed and not very friendly and their approach to customers was poor apart from one member of staff who tried her best. I saw a couple of people complaining so don’t know if they’d had a stressful day so it may have been a one off. The welcome into the cafe didn’t feel warm at all. The whole place smelt badly of body odour as well. The cats were lovely and seemed well looked after although a few younger children appeared to not be watched properly by parents but that was not staff’s fault and one of them did challenge a mother who got defensive and left. There were 2 adults and 4 children in our party. We spent £120 for a light lunch and one hour visit together with the fee. I felt we were well over charged and won’t be returning but glad we did it to tick it off our wish list as it was a nice idea.

lovely cafe full of cat's, as a cat lover, when I found out this existed I knew I needed to pay a visit. The cat's are all beautiful and there were a few kittens which were adorable to see. The food was also delicious. My only complaint is the amount of children who were just walking round with nobody watching them, a little boy pushing down on the cat's backs to stop them running from him then poking them with toys, then there was children forcing them to engage when they didn't want to and pushing cat tunnels into their faces. Many of the cat's did a runner when they saw a child with a toy coming after all that and I am not surprised. I missed out on seeing quite a few cats because I was either pushed out the way by someone's child or they were all hiding from the kids to avoid being terrorised. But I did mostly enjoy my time with the cats when I got the chance. This cafe needs an age restriction of 10 years and above for visitors to increase satisfaction for other visitors while in the cafe and to protect the safety and welfare of the cats

The cafe was so clean with staff constantly cleaning. Staff friendly and very helpful. The cats absolutely adorable. I liked the idea of the cats been able to go into the back of it all got a bit to much. I did see a couple of animal welfare staff also making sure the cats were ok. Me and and my children had the best time and topped up on the old endorphins . Highly recommended. We went at 10am on a Saturday as I didn’t want to go when busy and glad I made this decision x

When I went to kitty cafe in Leeds with my parents, I found it stressful and overwhelming. There was a lot of kids going around and stroking the cats which meant that I couldn't stroke them. I was about to stroke a cat when a boy accidentally kicked the cat so it ran off.I was lucky that I got to stroke the cats a bit on my own without the other kids who were rushing around and repeatedly saying "kitty kitty" which I found annoying. I went over to a cat as I was going to stroke it and it was trying to steal someone's food when the person who's food it was said to me "sorry, we're eating". The cafe does not care about the cats' welfare and I could tell that the cats were also stressed. It was a lot of money just to enter and you only had an hour before you had to leave. The food was OK, but it was not the relaxing experience that I expected. They need to limit the amount of young children as there are more kids than cats! Not relaxing!

I took a walk to the bakery to see if they supplied fresh bread. I checked the opening hours and when I arrived it was closed. Wasted journey. Looks a nice place from the outside though.

We’ve just been to the art gallery café for lunch we won’t be going back. They sell scones but they’ve run out of jam What kind of business can’t even organise going to the shop and getting a pot of jam. Leeds city council should be ashamed of themselves.

Went for the first time for my son's birthday to give him a treat. The atmosphere was the first ick, sadly. Using outdated fabrics and an odd table and booth layout. And during a time they should have been busy, we were one of only a few. For much of our time, we were alone. Their cold stone for the ice cream was severely broken, and it looked like it was filthy, or sludge, coming out from under it. Only positive for the atmosphere is the display of all the sweets. They did look really good. Tables had empty dishes on them while the girls in the back didn't look very busy. The one was polite and apologetic, and didn't seem to know much about what was available or not. The other was quiet. For food....sub-par. Taste was alright, brownies for the fondue were really good aside from being a bit old/dry on the edges. They were out of half of the things we asked for. Many of the drinks, including OJ, were missing. We had to go to their cooler ourselves to see what they had, which wasn't much. Same when ordering, I ended up not getting anything for myself and had to modify my son's chocolate fondue order because they didn't have enough cookies for the order. This place has potential. If they modernized it, make it more sleek and professional to match the style of the menu, deep cleaned, updated their equipment, and actually trained their staff, and had better product management....this place could be a hot spot easily.

A large, airy and light-filled pub (for a change) with plenty of outside seating near the City Museum- a short hop from culture to chaos! The young workers were efficient, very hard-working and helpful. What is distinctive about this place (and its saving-grace) is that it has a sufficient number of students to keep the place on an ‘even keel’ (for example, talk of Trump’s superior IQ is, mercifully, rare). TOP TIPS: (1) choose outside or gallery seating for a relatively blissful experience ; (2) in general, choose a Spoons having a reasonably high proportion of students (albeit with a modicum of immaturity and ‘lively’ behaviour). In this way, relative sanity and intellect may well prevail.
