Absolutely one of the best pubs around Sunday lunch too clsss you have to go here

The staff were very pleasant and attentive. The food was good but as.me and my friend are both elderly im afraid the portions were too big. Consequently we were both overfaced and wasted some of the food Many places offer smaller meals these days, perhaps it is something you could look into.i visited again today. My friend and i both chose fish and chips and on request were given the childrens portion which was very welcome. I was disappointed tho that my previous suggestion to offer smaller portions has not been implemented. It cant be economical for the restaurant to have food wasted not because there is anything wrong with the food but for some the portions are just to big. I appreciate perhaps the whole menu couldnt be offered on this basis but surely a selection could be possible.

Good food and great service from Lilly who’s a credit to the establishment.

Convenient location, reasonable price. Well appointed room although the only issue was the heating could have done with being a bit warmer. Great breakfast

A lovely lunch with friends at the Calverley Arms. The staff were really attentive and kind and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend this establishment for lunch or dinner.

A very comfortable stay, staff very friendly would highly recommend. We woke up to extreme snowy conditions, we cannot thank the chef enough for helping us off the carpark,way above the call of duty, top fellow 😀

The third year we have been for New Years Eve and again it didn’t disappoint! Fantastic food, service and entertainment. The staff were very attentive ,a special mention to Imogen who went above and beyond making our evening enjoyable !! Will definitely be booking for 2025 cannot thank the Calverley Arms enough , fantastic 10/10

Lovely overnight stay, only minor issues was pillows weren't quite right for me, but that's a very personal choice (nothing the hotel could have done about it)

The beef in particular cooked perfectly. What makes us return to the Calverley though is the team. We came on xmas day for lunch having visited many times before. Food was good & came out in good time unfortunately, my xmas dinner had items missing, no pigs in blanket, no stuffing & no bread sauce as described on the menu. I wasn't offered an explanation as to why this was either. Had to ask for cutlery several times & also offered no condiments to go with our main course, not even salt & pepper on the table. We were sat at the back of the restaurant near the toilets, so out of the way & had to spend quote a bit of time trying to get the attention of staff for drinks & cutlery etc. When it came to paying, there seemed to be some confusion, we were told the bill would come out to us, 10 mins later we asked if we could pay at the till as it still hadn't arrived bit no one seemed to know which table number we were. Overall, it didn't spoil the day as such but I don't think we'd book again, sadly.

Had Christmas lunch Lilly was ace at our table food was ok not hot some plates had pigs in blankets and stuffing some didn’t. Pudding plates smelled had to return but all in all we enjoyed the atmosphere and the service D Waudby

Party of 5 celebrating christmas eve. Steak cooked perfectly for one of the party, 2 enjoyed chicken & prawn kebabs with mixed salad. Sea bass with lovely choice of seasons veg. Fabulous pub/restaurant. Ideal for family gatherings. Food and service were excellent. Made to feel welcome.

This used to be my go to place but recently I feel like the service has really dropped off. We came for our festive meal and when we arrived it seemed like they'd forgot out booking. A bit of a fuss was made about seating us but the pub was really quiet. We eventually got sat kind of seperate from the main resturant which was fine, as we prefer private, but unfortunately it meant that the service was lacking. Took a while to get a drink and then getting another was hard. My friends mean came without the gravy and we had to ask 3 people to get it. They also forgot my coke later. Some of the food was overcooked. It was quiet so it was confusing. With that said, the food was tasty and the pub was decorated really well and we still enjoyed ourselves. Maybe just worth taking a look at the service, because it used to be much better.

6 of us went for the Festive Lunch, it was very good value for money. I had a beautifully cooked rib eye steak but it doesn't come with veg, a portion of peas would have been nice. The restaurant is lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful, we would definately eat here again.

Christmas Dinner - ran out of most starters and main course options so had to choose other items we didn't particularly want. Chicken skewer ran out so replaced with king prawn - still with shells on, barbecued so dried dried out and crispy - inedible and laughed at by the rest of the group because of how it looked. Sticky rice was over cooked and the whole lot could be picked up solid altogether on a fork - inedible. Probably the worst Christmas Dinner experience unfortunately !

Visited today as a party of 4. Ordered Roast Trio, Turkey, Pie of the Day and Chicken Parmigiana. Very good portion sizes and food was well cooked. Special mentions for our chefs Adam & Ellie and our server Millie for the excellent service.

We had a fantastic Sunday meal. Staff were very accommodating (even with the silly problems I threw at them making changes unnecessarily 🙈) we had a really lovely family meal would definitely recommend 🙂

Arrived before other family so had a drink at bar , one lager not available on fraught although barman didn’t realise till told. Also kept talking to his colleague every time he asked us something so not listening. Went through for dinner, first waitress nice enough and welcoming , starters came after a wait (but not too long) problem with one , missing an ingredient . Mushrooms lukewarm and the toast was soggy . Problems started with mains MASSIVE wait , 2 steaks ordered and 2 different skewers . Skewers arrived , and was just that ! Lamb skewer 5 small pieces of dry lamb and nothing else . Steaks looked ok, had to find a member of staff to find out why we hadn’t got chips, were brought out after a wait , but no salad or side as told on menu. Couldn’t be bothered to wait again for this so had 5 small pieces of lamb and approx 8 chips for £18?!asked for a refund due to no sides , 1 skewer was taken off menu . Drinks ordered while eating came in dribs and drabs , never were all 4 drinks brought together . Had to ask for bill as declined dessert , apologies from the original waitress , who advised she wasn’t sure what happened. Then I presume a lady who was in charge came to apologise . My in-laws had booked a 2 night stay (not cheap) and thankfully their stay went ok, and they said breakfast was much better . But when a dining bill for 4 with some drinks isn’t far off £200 you expect better . Keep giving the calverley arms a chance every so often, but no more I’m afraid . Such a shame but it needs a serious shake up and a new chef

The Calverley Arms is a lovely cosy pub and located not far from where I needed to travel for work. The food was lovely and the pub/restaurant had a great atmosphere, with lovely staff! I arrived at the hotel late on a Sunday evening after a long journey and found there were no lifts to the rooms, and due to a 5 night stay I had a few bags with me! It was a struggle carrying it all up the stairs and I wasn’t offered any help. The rooms are clean and a good size, however my room sat above the restaurant and I could hear the music playing until 11pm every night and it was quite loud as the walls are paper thin! I could also hear anyone in the rooms next to me or opposite - it felt like they were in the room due to how loud it was! As I was travelling for work and needed to be up early each morning this wasn’t great.

We haven’t been to Calverley Arms for a while, however we were really pleasantly surprised. We went with our 5 and 6 year old who can be a handful at times however our waitress Tasha was brilliant nothing was too much for her she really made us feel at ease and due to her diligence we had a really fantastic time. Lovely place to stay we only stayed 1 night conveniently placed for leeds and Bradford .clean and comfortable lovely staff.

Éramos 7 de nosotros aquí para mi madre 89 cumpleaños, todos pensamos que la comida era basura y caro para lo que era, esperamos 45 minutos para que llegara y cuando lo hizo era tibia, yo tenía un plato de pollo que era más de £ 18 y ni siquiera un pedazo de pechuga de pollo, mi marido tenía pescado y patatas fritas pan desmigado no rebozado, 2 tenían sándwiches que wernt bueno. Luke cafés calientes incluso después de pedir uno más caliente! El personal era lo suficientemente agradable, pero la espera para la comida no era grande o agradable cuando llegó, con miedo de que estropeó nuestro cumpleaños de mamás.

The Calverley Arms is a great place for lunch. Good menu with some different choices. Food very good and service by Jo was excellent - Jo was friendly, very helpful and delivered with a smile. We will definitely call again when next in the area, just a shame the Calverley Arms isn't closer to where we live.

Este lugar ha mejorado enormemente desde mi última visita que fue hace un par de años. La razón por la que no hemos vuelto antes fue porque era malo pero ya no. Todo el ambiente del lugar es mucho mejor , se sentía acogedor , el personal era increíble , todo amable y profesional. La comida era genial también. La brocheta de pollo estaba deliciosa, la carne estaba húmeda y tierna y la ensalada feta que la acompañaba era crujiente y fresca. El único consejo que yo diría es advertir a los clientes lo caliente que está la brocheta de metal - ¡ay! Hacía calor cuando intentamos recogerlo. Una visita muy agradable - bien hecho!

Delicious meal of aubergine gratin. Friendly and helpful staff. We were served quite quickly.

The central heating wasn't working, so the bedroom was very cold. However, the staff were very quick to bring up a radiator so we could heat the room. The bathroom howevervwas very warm. We love staying in room 7. It's a largish room with a lovely large bathroom. We have found this room is a quiet room without disturbances. We tend to choose this room when we stay.

Had many meals here over the years but they have obviously got a different chef as the food was no where near as good as other meals I’ve had there in the past. This explains why it was empty.

They never, ever answer the phone. Doesn’t matter what time you ring. I’ve tried various times during the day and evening and they never answer. I’ve left numerous voice messages for a callback and never received one. It’s frustrating!

Estuve aquí un par de veces recientemente con nuestro perro y disfrutamos de un par de copas de vino junto al fuego y tuvimos los aperitivos de 3 bares por 12 libras. Bonito ambiente y la relación calidad-precio para los aperitivos del bar es genial muy sabroso e ideal si solo quieres algo exigente antes de tener su sábado por la noche para llevar.

Poor us the only way to describe the meal today. The triple cooked chip were the worst chips i have ever tasted. Crisp on the outside and full of oil, the small amount of salad was limp and like it had been left out all day. Very disappointing . Food was Over priced as portions were small. 3 very small scoops of ice-cream £4.95.

Had Sunday lunch here with two family members. Everything was cooked perfectly and arrived at the table hot. The staff were very pleasant and looked like they enjoyed their work. Highly recommended

Arrived early so we could enjoy a drink in the bar area with lovely views of Rodley / Horsforth Valley. Very clean and airy, busy but comfortable. X3 Sunday lunches, plentiful and tasty (lamb on the underside so if you want it cooked well, I’d probably ask) They offer a smaller desert with a hot drink which to finish the meal is more than ample. Plus for a small extra you can have a liqueur. We had black coffees with a Jamesons. Atmosphere was very relaxed, lots of staff that although busy, didn’t appear to show any rushing round. Service was excellent by ‘Dan’.

First time dining here. Staff were wonderful. Will definitely be returning. We were served by a lovely girl called Natasha. She was very pleasant and professional. Very friendly too.

We had 30 people to a 60th surprise birthday. We visited a few times before and all staff on each visit were really friendly and helpful. My emails were always answered and I was made to feel confident about the party. The surprise went perfectly, the buffet was gorgeous and the area a perfect size for what we needed. Everyone commented how good the buffet was and how much they enjoyed it. Thank you so much to Catherine, her team and the chef. Fab day! P.S. We've also had family meals on many occasions and the food has always been really good.
