Fit us in at short notice. Food was absolutely beautiful, staff were attentive and really made our experience lovely Lamb chops were my favourite, so much flavour, cooked to my liking and very soft!! Drinks cheap and not watered down, I loved the place. We will be back!

Been to this restaurant quite a few times and never had a bad meal or poor service. Highly recommend. Parking is not always easy.

Friday 22nd December 2023, My husband and I went with our friend Susan for a festive curry. . We went to ‘The Kismet’ Indian Restaurant'. The Kismet Indian Restaurant is a modern Indian restaurant with a small and intimate atmosphere. The food here is very good and there is a very good selection of curries. We all shared pappadoms with various chutneys and dips for pre-dinner nibbles. We then had our main courses; my husband for his main course had a Chicken Jelfrazi Balti and a Perswari Naan, which he said was very nice. My main course was a King Prawn Pasander Balti with a Perswari Naan, which was really tasty. Susan for her main course had Chicken Tikki with Bombay potatoes. We had washed all this lovely food down with Cobra beers for my husband and Susan. I had a ‘Strong Bow’ cider. We did not bother with desserts as all of us were quite full. The bill for the three of us was very reasonable.

Once again another fabulous meal from kismet. This time as a birthday treat. My partner and i opted for poppadoms and dips to start. Followed by a salmon tandoori. Which was cooked to perfection in the clay oven it had the smoky texture too. We said we was going to share. But they very nicely halved it onto two plates. My curry of choice was the chicken balti and pilou rice. My partner opted for the lamb tikka masala. All of which was cooked to perfection. This is a lovely restaurant with attentive staff and fabulous dining experience. All this and four drinks each came to the totle of £56 which for what we had was very reasonable.

Friday 3rd November 2023, My husband and I went to meet Paul & Alex for a curry at ‘The Kismet’ Indian Restaurant here in Castle Bromwich. We have not met up with them since before Covid, so we all thought it was about time that we got together. We all met up at ‘The Kismet’ Indian Restaurant'. The Kismet Indian Restaurant is a modern Indian restaurant with a small and intimate atmosphere. The food here is very good and there is a very good selection of curries. We all shared pappadoms with various chutneys and dips for pre-dinner nibbles. We then had starters my husband and I had nargis kebabs. Alex had a sheesh kebab and Paul had onion bhargees. We then had our main courses; my husband for his main course had a Chicken Bhuna Balti and a Perswari Naan, which he said was very nice. My main course was a King Prawn Pasander Balti with a Perswari Naan, which was really tasty. Paul for his main course had Chicken Dansak with boiled rice, which he said was the best he had ever eaten. Alex had Chicken Saarg with boiled rice and a Cheese & Onion Naan, which he said was delicious. We had washed all this lovely food down with Cobra beers for my husband and Paul. I had a ‘Strong Bow’ cider. Alex had brandy and coke. We did not bother with desserts as all of us were quite full. The bill for the four of us was very reasonable. Paul and Alex had never been here before and really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, the atmosphere and most of all the wonderful food.

We have been going to Kismet for several years and it is our favourite Indian restaurant. Staff are really friendly and food is great quality, can't fault it at all. Plus Covid friendly. Definitely recommend.

Had a great meal here today, all covid procedures in place. The staff were friendly and attentive. Nothing was ever too much for them. Amazing meal, and the naan bread was spot on. Will definitely be visiting again soon. Thanks guys

Todos comenzamos reuniéndonos para tomar una copa antes de cenar en la casa de Susan. Tomamos vino espumoso y aperitivos y todos hablamos y reímos durante una hora. Tomamos muchas fotografías de todos nosotros siendo tontos, todos somos niños muy grandes, que se rehúsan a crecer, ¡no hemos encontrado una razón lo suficientemente buena como para hacerlo! ! !Luego fuimos a la comida de celebración de cumpleaños de mi esposo al "restaurante indio Kismet" aquí en Castle Bromwich. El restaurante indio Kismet es un restaurante indio moderno con un ambiente pequeño e íntimo. La comida aquí es muy buena y hay una muy buena selección de curry.Mi esposo, Sue, Helen y yo teníamos pappadoms con varios chutneys y salsas para empezar.Mi marido para su plato principal tenía un Dansak de cordero con arroz pilau, que dijo que era muy agradable. Mi plato principal era un pollo balti de Cachemira con un Nawar Perswari, que era realmente sabroso. Susan para su plato principal hizo que Lamb Bhoona sirviera arroz pilau, que dijo que estaba delicioso. Helen tenía un Korma Chicken Balti con un Perswari Naan, que dijo que era muy agradable.No nos molestamos con los postres ya que estábamos bastante llenos. On Friday 20 December 19, I went with my husband and friends here for a festive Xmas meal. The place was lively and bustling as usual. We all had poppadum's and dips for our starters. My husband had a lamb Bhoona with plau rice for his main course. Susan had a lamb Sag with plau rice for her main course. Helen had a chicken Muchamon with plau rice for her main course. Ryan had a mixed Tawl for his main course with plau rice and a plain naan bread. I had a Kashmiri chicken balti with a pershawari naan for my main course.We washed all this lovely food down with a pints of Cobra for my husband, Ryan and Helen, gin and tonic for Susan and a Lemonade and ice for myself.The food was piping hot and well presented. The only drawback was due to the busyness of the restaurant, some of the clients were very loud, so at times having a conversation became a little difficult, but we still enjoyed ourselves and had lots of fun.We were all so full after our main meal that we did not bother with desserts or coffee.The bill for the meal was very reasonable.Milan and his team are very professional and nothing is too much for them, the service was impeccable at this very busy time of year.

As theres a number of good indian restaurants around my local area, I dont use Kismet all that regularly. However, most curry houses now are good on their day. They fall short from time to time leaving me disappointed and feeling regret at spending money on substandard food.Kismet I've used on and off but never have I had a poor show. The food is absolutely bang on every time, even when taken out and sat in your car for 15/20 minute drive home. Theres a great vibe when eating in too, I like a place that's busy.Gonna start staying safe and sticking to Kismet

Myself and my family have been coming here for years now and although we have tried other Indian restaurants always come back to this one. I personally haven't found a curry that beats this yet waiters are very friendly and polite. I always have lamb sagwala my husband has different but always says he enjoys them. There is a bar here too which has a great pint of cobra.

Just got back from here what a wast of time 9 of us went thay forgot one starter then a main meal wos cold as I awaited the currey sause the service is beyond bad the manager wS so rude bad food all round

Don't eat here its awfulTerrible, Food was inedible and the Service was awful After reading other reviews were really looking forward to trying out this restaurant.What a terrible night out. The starters were over cooked and presented poorly. The waiter arrived at the table with 4 plates with the side garnish on each of them, no sauce just lettuce, tomato and cucumber then he went back to the kitchen and came out with a biggish serving plate with all our different starter on. 1 was a fish starter and 1 a prawn starter, basically mixing in with the mixed kebab and sheek kebab, if I wanted my starter to taste of fish I'd have asked for it.Then after we asked for some mint yoghurt he arrived back with a big tub and just plonked it on the table.The main course was inedible, I have never seen Lamb sliced to look like strips of beef before and it tasted awful. The other main courses were equally as terrible.I had to almost stand on a chair and wave at the waiter to get any response when I wanted a top up on our drinks.This is without question the worst restaurant I have ever been to. Never never again.

Despite only visiting every couple of months the owner recognises me which I find amazing as this place is busy. Great food and fast service but on the weekend you need to arrive early or book. Highly recommended!

Great little place in Castle Bromwich, food is fantastic I am a meat lover but if you go here make sure one of your party has the vegetarian thali it’s beautiful and very tasty food is always hot , the house wine is one of the best out there , service is second to none we will return 100% mmmmm

A group of 6 of us ate at Kismet on Thursday evening, We all found the food excellent quality and personally one of the best curries I have had for a long time. I will be back again.

Mi esposa y yo vinimos a comer aquí para celebrar nuestro aniversario de boda, ya que vivimos en la zona durante algunos años pero nunca visitamos. Estuvimos muy impresionados con la comida, realmente una de las mejores comidas indias que hemos tenido y estoy muy exigente con la comida. Definitivamente regresaremos. La única pequeña crítica que tengo es que el personal no fue tan atento como me hubiera gustado dado lo tranquilo que estaba el restaurante esa noche. Pero nos estábamos divirtiendo y no teníamos ninguna prisa por irnos, así que esto no importaba mucho. En resumen, un restaurante limpio y agradable, buena comida y un precio razonable. Sin duda volveremos.

Absolutely awful would never order food from there again all of it went straight in the bin I don’t think I have ever had such bad food. decided to try somewhere different having read the reviews gave this a go I can’t believe anybody could give this place anything other than one star and that would be being generous would of returned it but we lived quite a distance away first and last time we will use this restaurant

Ordered food to be spicey, came bland for 2 dishes. They took both dishes back and respiced, butbto no avail!!! Instead brought out a sweet yoghurt.. without us ordering and then charged..!!! Toilet absolutely stunk. Faeces on floor.Twice saw the bar lad picking ice from the bucket with his hands and put in the drinks.!! Coughed like mad as kitchen cooking flavours were overpowering and coming into restaurant. Sad for the babies. Owner was arrogant and said the place was not for Indians..!!A disgrace this place should be closed down. Will be taking this further.

Do NOT go to this place... food had no taste was bland. We complained about the food and we were told thats the best they can do.

Staff really look after you and are always helpful and professionals. The food is amazing and the menu options are great. They always customise dishes to your tastes and it's also good value. Nice big event room in the back which was great for a birthday event.

Went to the Kismet with my wife and grown up family. The welcome was very warm and the food was excellent and plenty of it. I shall be back again soon.

Went here it was late evening...very noisy badly lit and food not brilliant! Service not too bad the place I found was quite shabby and could do with a lick of paint and brighter lighting.

We only eat here three times a year when we attend the NEC. Remarkably the staff and owner recognises us as I have explained before.

The kismet is our go to curry house when wanting to go out for an Indian instead of take away. Very good food and value for money. Always friendly staff and make you feel welcome.

Saturday 10th June 2017, My husband and I went out with Susan, her daughter Helen and Helen’s boyfriend Ryan to celebrate my forthcoming Birthday to ‘The Kismet’ Indian Restaurant' here in Castle Bromwich. The Kismet Indian Restaurant is a modern Indian restaurant with a small and intimate atmosphere. The food here is very good and there is a very good selection of curries.My husband, Susan, Helen, Ryan and I all had pappadoms with various chutneys and dips for our starters. My husband for his main course had a Lamb Bhoona curry with Plaiu rice, which he said was very nice. Ryan for his main course had a Lamb curry with rice and a Keema Nan. My main course was a Nargis Kebab with two side dishes of Bombay potatoes and mushroom bargee, which was very savoury and nice. Helen for her main course had a Tandoori Mixed Meat with two side dishes of Bombay potatoes and cauliflower bargee. Susan for her main course had a Lamb Biriyani with rice and plain Nan bread.Susan, Helen and Ryan did not have a dessert. My husband had Mango kulfi, which he said was nice and light. I had a pistachio kulfi, which finished off my meal perfectly. We washed all this lovely food down with Cobra beer for My husband, Ryan and Helen, a pint of larger and blackcurrant for me and Susan had gin and bitter lemon. The bill for the five of us was very reasonable.Since my last visit the food has improved somewhat, and has renewed my faith, so I will return again in the future.

Chicken tikka garlic balti is the best one ive had...very very tasty... unfortunately im the greedy type so i would have prefered a bigger portion but im glad i had a starter which was just as nice..

Nice looking place. I had a thali, a mix of dishes bunna/veg curry and a chicken dish. apart from some sour cream in the veg dish they all tasted identical. Also they where a bit bland. No spicey heat at all. My sons tikka masala tasted very sweet and fruity, almost if it was made with jam. The lamb was quite dry. The place was very busy with dinners and take aways, so they must be to the taste of the locals. The food was not awful, just not that good. It not for us. There are much better places. The waiter did not say "thank you/good bye" after I payed and headed for the door.He just handed me card receipt and turned away...we will not return.

Never had a bad meal here. It's a great meal, great atmosphere, great price ! When family visit this is always the preferred restaurant

Having been out for lunch we decided to have a takeaway on the evening and we were not disappointed.We ordered chicken madras with a peshwari nan and it was ready when we arrived.The curry was an absolute delight and we will certainly be using this establishment again.

We wanted to take our 2 children to an Indian Restaurant and couldn't have chosen better. The food was the best I've eaten and the service was very good the staff were very friendly. We will definitely go back again as the whole experience was excellent.

If you are after a good traditional meal this place is for you. The menu will be very familiar to all curry house aficionados and also some good chef specials for something different. Standard of the food is very good, service excellent and a good bar also. I look forward to visiting again.

The food has been consistently good for years, they don't have the freebies and gimmicks but they really don’t need it. The food is always excellent and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I eat a lot of curries and have eat at most other places in the area, to be honest they don’t even come close to the quality of The Kismet. Good fresh food, great pint of Cobra on draught as well (and they don't charge a fortune for a pint) :)

Not wishing to cook or go out this evening we decided to go collect a takeaway.I have used this establishment on several occasions and I have to say I have submitted mixed reviews of my experiences in the past.I was told to collect at 2100hrs.I eventually received it twenty minutes later.However it was worth the wait.Chicken Madras, pilau rice plus 2 nan breads were delicious and has put the Kismet back onto my "go to" list when hungry.

First time we've eaten here. The main restaurant is small and very busy. ( I visited on a Friday night) The food was excellent, we had a jalfrezi and a madras as mains with chicken pakora.Food was excellent couldn't fault it.Will certainly be going back.

On Friday16 December 16, I went with my husband and friend here for a festive meal. The place was not as busy as we have known it in the past. We all had poppadum's and dips for our starters. My husband and our friend had the chicken Muglia with plau rice and a pershawari naan for their main course. My husband did not think much of the chicken as it was very dry and hard. I had a king prawn pasander balti with a pershawari naan for my main course.We washed mediocre food down with a pint of Cobra for my husband, gin and tonic for my friend and a Amerreto and ice for myself.We were seated in the large room at the back, which was very cold and did not have very good heating. We were all glad to leave, so that we could go home and get warm. We did not bother with desserts or coffee.The bill for the meal was very reasonable.In my opinion this restaurant has lost some of its quality, as is now trading on its past reputation, rather then maintaining its previous high standards of food and service.

Superb food and speedy service. Fair price and lovely fresh ingredients. Staff were on point and provided us with stunning service. Only one criticism and that was the lack of stout and traditional ale on offer, but apart from that, it was a faultless dining experience. 9.5/10

Some of my family came down for the weekend. We went here for a meal, there was 5 of us. It was 10 pm on a Saturday and resturant was half full only. We ordered our drinks but the guy wanted our starter order first. We politely said we would like our drinks first. This clearly upset him. We got our drinks and ordered starters. We waited nearly 40 minutes for them and they were cold. They took them away and microwaved the part eaten starters, even the side salad. We ignored this and left them as we were going to go straight to main course. Unbelievably the meals came out in about 2 minutes. They were luke warm and had obviously been made from the same sauce ingredient as they all tasted the same and were luke warm warm at best. We sent them back and they came out slightly warmer at best. At this I asked for manager and said we were leaving. He tried to charge me 75 pounds for this garbage and I refused to pay. He was not happy so I gave him 40 pound for the drinks as we had 2 rounds so I thought I was more than fair. I wouldn't recommend end this place at all.

I was staying in the area for a conference at the NEC and my AirBnB host recommended Kismet. I was not disappointed. Service was slick, the food was excellent (5* Scores on the Doors rating), and care taken to ensure it was cooked in accordance to my taste preference in terms of spice. The bill was acceptable too! I would recommend Kismet without reservation - thank you!

A lovely evening, I'm very impressed with the way the restaurant coped with a large party celebrating Jane's birthday with a help yourself, buffet style selection with starters and mains at two different servings, but also a large booking of around ten people, plus the main restaurant. The food was lovely, the service very good too and the company was fab. Thank you to all.

I have been here a couple of times and I have not been disappointed, the food is cooked to perfection and is always hot! They even catered when I booked the back room for my partners birthday, they took care of over 20 hungry guests :) 100% recommend

We have been using the Kismet since it opened, we have dinned in and also had takeaway.In or out we have always had a great meal, the prices are competitive, the service very good in fact we cant fault the Kismet.

Came here Sunday 24th July with my wife.its been ages since we have been here as we got quite a few favourites on our doorstep.the food here was as good as the last time we came so good start.got here about 6 o'clock and within 45mins the restaurant was nearly full!! 2 popadoms with nice dip&onion tray were despatched then we opted for a chicken and mushroom Balti madras hot nice chicken tikka Balti tasty 2 roti's and chips to share. 3 pints of carling ramped the bill up to £30 so average prices will come back again

Every time we come to Birmingham we make our way to the Kismet,we just love their food!Servings are generous,quality above par and an excellent menu!The only downside we live a 145 miles away!

Enjoyed a good three course for dinner at this popular local restaurant and take away. Fairly standard Bangladeshi menu but the food was tasty and service was good. Pint of Cobra was excellent. Will definitely visit again.

Went here last night for a family birthday meal was given the back room as so many of us but wasent big enough it was buffet food,had to wait over an hour for starters went to bar at front an ask for 3 pints of blackcurrant squash was given half pints an charged £6 starters was nice but should have put dips on all tables,waiters was taking glasses before they was even empty ordered more blackcurrants in other bar was given pints this time an charged £4.80 didn't think much of mains was a watery chicken curry an beef curry with rice an nanns no salad or dips by this time it was 10 clock an 2 cakes was brought out which must have cost all of £2 each we left then after paying £15 a head feeling very disappointed an ripped off never again don't bother

We have visited 'Kismet' on a number of occasions now, every time we have thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Efficient friendly service, great food, reasonably priced. Recommended.

The Kismet is a simple, no frills restaurant serving good food at good prices. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area

Been to this indian restaurant a few times over the years and the service and food has been spot on. We never had a table booked and had just walked in this wasn't a problem even though the place was fairly packed. We was given a table just to the left of the enterance door and was draughty when people came in and out. Our drinks order was taken as soon as we was seated nice pint of Cobra on draught and we was given menus. We ordered poppadoms while looking at the menus and these came with four dips Onion, mango chutney, mint yought and a mustard dip. The mango wasnt to my liking but the mustard dip I had to myself as I wouldnt share it. Our starters came out and we all argeed that they was cooked and tasted great. Mains shortly followed after we finished our starters again cooked and tasted brilliant. By the time we had finished our meal we had the restaurant to ourselfs and was having a good chat and laugh with the waiters. Great food with brilliant helpful staff we will keep returning.

I have been to this restaurant many times and I have never had a bad meal, the food is always delicious. My daughter lives in London and quite often when visiting will pick up a takeaway that she takes back to London her with her. Staff are really friendly and polite. Best Indian restaurant around this area, in my opinion.

The food here is just delicious, there is no denying it, however the portions last night seemed a lot smaller than previous?

We went early on a saturday, 6pm thinking it would be empty, as we had our 3yr grandaughter with us,i think most familys had the same idea, but we were seated and drinks were served quickly and served the usual pompadoms and relishes, all very nice,when our main meals came,[including chicken nuggets and chips for little one] they were lovely, very tasty, staff were very nice,and rushed of there feet,but they were very attentive,in fact we are going again mid week, well worth a visit, and like us you will return.

Have visited numerous times and always a warm welcome from Milan and his team,lovely food and very reasonable prices...the chicken balti is beautiful and so are most of the starters.Go and try....

I have frequented this establishment for several years and was most disappointed when having ordered a takeaway today to find several errors with its content.I ordered a kulcha nan but received a keema nan.I also ordered a chicken tikka balti masala but received only tikka.In addition the box in which it came in leaked all over my car seat.The whole experience has made me think of alternative outlets.

I've had better meals from a van outside a football stadium. Food was greasy, rice was rock hard. Wish tripadvisor would allow minus ratings because this place would certainly be getting one.

Heard good things bout thus place, as a vegetarian i was very upset when I ordered a mushroom balti and found a piece of chicken in it, staff we not sympathetic to my needs. Won't be returning, wil have to try some other places in the area.

I've been here a few times and each time the quality of the food is what I would call restaurant quality. I recently went to Saffron to compare and the food here is much better and and less expensive.

On Saturday19 December 15, I went with my husband and friend here for a festive meal. The place was lively and bustling as usual. We all had poppadum's and dips for our starters. My husband had a lamb Jelfreizi with plau rice for his main course. My friend had a lamb Bhoona with plau rice for here main course. I had a chicken pasander balti with a pershawari naan for my main course.We washed all this lovely food down with a pint of Cobra for my husband, gin and tonic for my friend and a Amerreto and ice for myself.The food was piping hot and well presented. The only drawback was due to the busyness of the restaurant, some of the clients were very loud, so at times having a conversation became a little difficult.We were so full after our main meal that we did not bother with desserts or coffee.The bill for the meal was very reasonable.Another good evening.

Never usually had a problem with this restaurant but last Sunday was awful! I ordered a chicken pathia, which looked like it had been there for 3 days. Didn't have a sweet & sour flavour a pathia is meant to have. The rice was like slodge all stuck together, The chips was hard, the spinach and chicken balti was disgusting! Put me off going. I asked how much on the phone and he told me he was to busy to tell me. Rude service has put me off going ever again! Would highly not recommend !!!

Terrible food, this is not indian food. do yourself a favour and go to ladypool road for a real treat.

Been coming here since opening week great variety and taste and just what the title to this review says. Chicken tikka nagga is a must if you like it hot !! Surrounding curry houses not a patch on this place.

I've been to the Kismet 3 times recently and thoroughly enjoyed each meal. Milan and the staff were very warm and welcoming and the food was excellent.

Another good meal... We can be an awkward lot... one only eats a little (usually a starter and desert); another only ever eats the tikka, I rarely finish a meal and ask for a take home but our other isn't a problem. I had Tandoori Murg Masala and it was not disappointing. Staff are always attentive, polite but busy lacking the chit-chat one would expect from a regular visitor. However nothing is too much trouble and staff will do their best to accommodate requests. I find this place does get hot and stuffy sometimes when fully booked.

Visited this restaurant with family for my brothers birthday meal. My mom has eaten there before and she recommended it. Delicious food very plentiful. The staff were great considering there was 14 of us including the kids they catered for us perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble. Really relaxed environment and will definitely be visiting there again in the near future. Sophia harris

We must visit this restaurant at least 3 /4 times per month and we always get excellent service they even go out there way to and get baked beans for our little children to have with their chicken nuggets , my husband and I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal here and cannot believe there are negative reviews , highly recommend the lamb dishes !

Absolute crap food and service. Place needs re-painting. Grubby springs to mind left after starter. Wont be visiting again

Have been here a few times now. And it is consistently excellent. The staff are very friendly and attentive without crowding you.The food is fantastic, I've tried a different dish each time, keemer mutter is an amazing chef speciality.Very reasonably priced. Will certainly be visiting again and recommending.

I often visit the Kismet with my parents. My parents do not like spicy food and at each visit quiz the staff re contents of the menu. The staff now know the meals my parents like and will recommend the not so spicy - my parents have never been disappointed. On this visit my partner joined us, we are more adventurous, again, we have never been disappointed. This visit was mid week, much more quiet and enjoyable in comparison with out last visit which was on a Friday when you couldn't hear yourself think!!!!! Sadly, when busy, waiting staff do give the impression that we are inconvenient and they lack the interest of service provision given on quieter days.
