Kirton Cottage in Boston

Highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant. 3rd visit whilst in the area visiting family and had an amazing lunch. Will definitely be visiting again when we are in the area and are disappointed we don't live closer!

We stumbled upon this little restaurant almost by accident as we were looking for somewhere to have Sunday lunch that wasn’t a traditional pub. We were not disappointed. You are warmly welcomed from the second you step into this quaint little, unassuming building. There was a good choice of starters, mains and puddings - I had turkey while hubby had the lamb. Normally, when it comes to a roast, the accompanying vegetables can be a bit sparse but we were pleasantly surprised by not only the quantity, but the fact they were cooked perfectly and the roast potatoes were to die for. The ginger sponge and custard was amazing and the treacle tart excellent. We couldn’t fault the service - attentive but not intrusive and the bill was extremely reasonable. Given the quality of food on offer, we will definitely be back!

We had been recommended Kirton Cottage and we were certainly not disappointed We had an excellent meal which was beautifully cooked and presented. The choice on the menu was varied and the quality outstanding. Portion sizes were more than generous. The staff were lovely and looked after us very well . We found ourselves chatting to other guests in this lovely relaxed restaurant. Excellent from start to finish and thank you to the chef for an outstanding meal, we will definitely be back.

From the moment you go through the door you are made to feel special. Such a charming venue, with impeccable service and amazing food made with fresh ingredients. Would love to know how the chips are cooked - so crispy and fluffy.

Never been to this restaurant previously and very pleasantly surprised and impressed with all aspects of our visit. The choice on the menu was extremely nice and would appeal to most people this combined with great quality food and more than adequate food portions was a really nice experience. The friend we went with had previously been and spoke very highly of this establishment and we were certainly not disappointed in any aspect of are visit. The food was so tasty and presented in a lovely way and combined with good old fashioned service was just so nice and we will definitely return to this fine establishment thank you so much.

Decided to go for lunch so made a booking via messenger. As we expected food was delicious and plenty of it. We’ve been for lunches and evenings Beautiful little cottage restaurant with pleasant decor Wonderful, attentive staff and very friendly. Highly recommend a visit when you’re in the area but please ring beforehand to check they are/will be open and have space, I’d hate for you to be disappointed as you’d miss a real treat

Our first visit to Kirton Cottage. A warm greeting at the door and attentive but not intrusive waitressing made for a very relaxed experience. The food was enjoyable, good value and the service was excellent. Will definitely go again.

Went on Christmas day 2023, from entering the staff were exceptional, friendly and very professional. Cosy atmosphere and decorated beautifully. The food was absolutely superb, my wife had the roast turkey whilst I tucked into a rack of perfectly cooked Lamb. There was far too much food for us, getting on in years as we are, but it was faultless. Highly recommended.

Such a great experience. We are so glad we booked a meal to dine at Kirton Cottage! It was like stepping back in the past. As we entered the restaurant, it felt as if we had come to dine in someone's house, complete with 1970s style wallpaper and lights. The food itself was freshly cooked, with lots of different choices available; the quality of the meals was excellent, plentiful portions and the table service was outstanding. I opted for Beef Wellington whilst my husband had the rump of venison. Both meals came with fresh vegetables and potato options. We would highly recommend Kirton Cottage!

We were to be in Boston and needed a good place for lunch and chose Kirton Cottage. How amazing: white table cloths, great service and a different choice of beers. It's not exactly fine dining, hence only a 'very good' rating, but it is good and excellent value for money. Go and enjoy!

Definitely one of the best places where to have good food and great service. In a small village , nice place. The waitress is very kind, the food is definitely good and not the common food we found in the area. The tuna loin was good, the steak as well. Definitely the best, strongly recommended!

We recently visited ti celebrate the 4th anniversary of the Cottage. As usual the food and service were of an extremely high quality. Congratulations to Ambrish, Laura and staff, and we look forward to many more meal in the future with family and friends.

We stayed in Boston for the weekend last weekend. We read on Trip advisor how good this restaurant was. So we decided to try it and we were not disappointed. Excellent service and excellent food. It is great when you come across a small restaurant like this in an out of the way place that is just so good. They deserve to do well and keep their number one rating. Not cheap but good value for what they offer.

We were looking for somewhere to eat whilst visiting Boston and thanks to TripAdvisor reviews we found this little gem of a Restaurant in Kirton. The menu, although not extensive had sufficient choice to suit most people as did the wine list and the starched white table linen together with an eclectic mix of Royal Albert Chinaware added to the sence of anticipation....and ... we were NOT disappointed.I started with mushroom soup which was thick, creamy and very tasty, accompanied by a small loaf of home made bread and a butter flower (see photo) My main course was a superbly cooked Rack of Lamb, beautifully presented on a crushed potato with fresh local vegetables -carrots broccoli and asparagus . My wife chose parmesan and mango filo parcels to start....an unexpected combination that worked very well..... followed by spinach and mozzarella Tortellini which was delicious.With drinks the bill was around £50 for 2 courses for 2 people which although not inexpensive, for us represented good value for money.

We booked a late lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant is clean and beautifully looked after. All the staff are helpful without being obtrusive. The menu was varied with an excellent range of starters, mains and desserts. We both had mango and brie parcels for starter - excellent. My wife chose chicken and I had turkey for the roast main course - variety of vegetables; all nicely cooked and well presented. We didn't have room for a proper dessert - all of which looked fabulous. Not our first visit to this location, and we were not disappointed to return. Superb food and service in attractive surroundings.

Had a lovely meal at Kirton Cottage. We chose the scallops and black pudding to start, the scallops were cooked to perfection - absolutely amazing. For mains we had the salmon supreme amd fillet steak both beautifully presented. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the desserts as we were too full to even try attempt them! Head of House and Waitress was so attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I travelled from Lincoln to take our friend in Boston to this restaurant for a birthday meal.What a lovely little place this is. A warm welcome, lovely, clean surroundings.The food was absolutely great and generous portions. We all came away totally impressed. Well done the Cottage restaurant.

We stopped here for Sunday lunch after staying in Boston for a school reunion...we decided to forego breakfast as we were eating at 12 ..We had heard good things about the restaurant and wanted to try it for ourselves...The lamb and beef were excellent..the service was very good too..we were too full for a pudding..which was a shame because they sounded delicious...excellent value for money..only wish we had eaten here before..

We stopped here for lunch on our way to Norwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. A small restaurant, but it feels very personal, and the food was excellent. My wife found a three course lunch a bit much, but I loved it – particularly the treacle sponge. An excellent place to stop, we will return if we are ever in the Boston area again.

We visited with friends following lockdown and once again all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Why haven't we been before! The restaurant is a 3 minute walk from our home and have been told many times how good it is and finally visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago. What a delight. Food was excellent; service faultless and made to feel very special. Certainly won't be our last visit.

Our first restaurant dining out experience since February and we were not disappointed! I enjoyed the venison with fresh vegetables and my wife had the salmon. Couldn't resist a delicious dessert to follow. A great local restaurant!

My French family and I passed the night in Boston and found this lovely restaurant on trip advisor . The food is absolutely lovely made fresh with high quality ingredients . The desserts were delicious , still remember the taste of the home made banana and pistachio ice creams .Highly recommended .The lady who served us was very polite and elegant with a high sense of consumer service .

Kirton Cottage is absolutely lovely, from the minute you walk in you are greeted by the lovely staff, there is an upstairs bar, serves a good range of drinks, the restaurant is clean and very welcoming, the food is absolutely amazing, I totally recommend this restaurant, will definitely be going back.

Since lockdown Ambrish and his staff have been producing some wonderful takeaway Sunday lunches, delicious local produce and plenty for someone with the biggest of appetites, this service has been a great help to us as our parents are housebound due to covid and they really look forward to their Sunday lunches, so many thanks Kirton Cottage.

The cottage was not what I was expecting. Like most restaurants in Boston/Kirton i was expecting mediocre food and poor service but after booking for two to have sunday lunch I was looking forward to our visit. It was a family trip with my father who i don't get to see often so I really wanted to have a good meal and treat ourselves. Safe to say, i was NOT disappointed! The cottage is quaint, small and intimate but the food was divine and well priced. The young waitress was pleasant and put up with my fathers annoying jokes and was attentive. The older lady was more experienced but was equally as pleasant and we were well looked after! This isn't your usual pub grub. The food was the best i have ever had in Boston and the portions were perfect. The mixture of veg was beautifully cooked and my father said his lamb was perfectly cooked. This really is a small business you should support, the time and preparation that has gone into the food is evident. As we were tucking into our deserts the restaurant was busy, you need to book or else you will not get a table as it is a very small place. I shall be recommending Kirton cottage and will be returning. For a 2 course meal with soft drinks cost us less than £40. Finally, the decoration is lovely, simple but very clean. The women's bathroom was beautiful and exceptionally clean and tidy. This place is well ran and looked after and I would encourage everyone to try this restaurant.

We had a splendid meal on Saturday evening. I was a little anxious about my booking as we'd never been before. I needn't have been. We had a warm welcome and went up to the really cute little bar upstairs for a drink first, as we were early. We loved the relaxing, classy atmosphere of the whole place; quiet music, excellent service, cozy, homely decor and beautiful china and wine glasses. We both had a starter to share and rib-eye steak for mains. Absolutely top marks for the hot plates and hot, fresh, tasty food. Too many restaurants we experience serve up luke warm food on cold plates - not good!The red and white wines we had were excellent, always a sign of a good restaurant to me. Oh and the cheesecake was gorgeous too. If we'd had room, I would have have loved to try the cheeseboard! Next time..Thank you Kirton Cottage, we'll definitely be back

The cottage is a lovely setting for a relaxed meal out with nice decor and relaxing background music. The service was amazing and the food really tasty. All of our party agreed that it could not have been better. Good choice of food too and good price. We will all be coming back again soon. Thank you to Kirton Cottage for a lovely lunch yesterday.

Pleasantly greeted at the door and shown upstairs to the quaint bar for a beverage before our meal - time to choose our food from the menu and a catch up with friends before we ate. We booked a party of four in for dinner to celebrate my mother’s birthday. On arrival we were given a very friendly welcome and were shown to the cosy bar area for pre dinner drinks.The menu is extensive and varied and would suit all. The meals were very well presented and as appealing to the eye as the were to the pallet. We had three Ribeye steaks at the table all cooked to different requests and all were perfectly cooked. The plates were hot and even after we had all eaten they were still very warm, there’s no danger of your food going cold while eating. The staff were all very polite, friendly and professional, regularly attending the table without being intrusive. I would highly recommend the Kirton Cottage for that special dinner night. It was our first dining experience here but will not be our last. Thank you.

We visit Kirton Cottage on a regular basis and feel very lucky that we have such a wonderful restaurant in our village. This was the first time we had Christmas Dinner here and as always the food, service and ambiance of the restaurant was second to none. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food, excellent service as it is a lovely cosy venue which use linen tablecloths and napkins, china crockery and crystal glasses.

We went to Kirton Cottage for Christmas Day lunch again this year, it was excellent again. Food was delicous and service was excellent as always. It was very Christmassy, I would highly recommend Kirton Cottage.

We have now been to the kirton cottage several times on our own and with friends for both lunch and evening meal. The service has always been excellent - attentive without being obtrusive and the food has been fabulous. So lovely to have this local to where we live with tasty local produce.

Myself and two friends ate there two nights ago. It was very quiet. The front of house service was excellent. The dining room was tastefully furnished, fresh and clean. We had pre-ordered from the Festive Menu. One person chose turkey etc and said it was very nice. I and another friend had pork with chestnut stuffing. The pork (mine and my friends) were chewy and dry with pieces of fat in. The roast potatoes were hard to cut into and were dry and tasteless. The gravy was nice. The two christmas puddings were chewy and tasteless. The centre of the puddings hard a hard ball that was impossible to eat. The coffees were very bitter and not very warm. The mince pies were also tasteless and very small. It was nice and warm when we arrived at 7pm but had turned chilly when we left. We wouldn't visit again

Nine and a half of us (9 adults and a toddler) came for a lunch in very relaxed atmosphere. It is one of the few places where you don’t have to shout to make yourself heard or strain to hear over a cacophony of background noise. Service was excellent, place setting and layout only found normally in high end London hotels. Food and wine selection was varied and excellent, I had food envy but was very satisfied with my meal as well. I highly recommend this venue, I almost don’t want to share this and keep it to myself but in the spirit of Christmas and good will to all, this is my gift to you.

In December 2019 we booked a table at the cottage for 6 to celebrate my 70th birthday and we were extremely pleased with our choice of restaurant. The food, service and ambiance was superb and our party were so pleased with the choice made. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good food and excellent service.

We ate here last night. It wasn’t busy at all. The decor of your grannies living room was slightly unusual, especially when coupled with reggae Christmas music playing from a speaker on the floor. We ordered the sharing starter for £12 and in all honesty it could’ve been from Iceland. All deep fried, served on 1 big plate with hoisin sauce on everything and a very poorly assembled garnish in the middle. Following this I ordered the chefs special which was rump of venison. I was informed by the waitress (who to her credit did a good job) that the chef cooks it medium rare, no problem. When I arrived it was like the sole of your boot, served on crushed new potatoes without an ounce of butter or seasoning, and a red wine sauce that was so over reduced it was almost sticky. My partner had the chicken main which was average at best. The vegetables that accompanied the mains were simply steamed sprouts, carrots and cauliflower which again had no seasoning whatsoever and tasted slightly old. We shared a dessert which was a treacle sponge, clearly bought in but not terrible. The wine was alright but served in a goblet style glass and filled almost to the top with no room to breathe.

Superb setting, white table cloths, attentive staff, lovely clean restaurant, oh yes food great as well.

Once again a fabulous meal enjoyed by myself and twelve colleagues. Fabulous food, lovely cosy surroundings and attentive service. We always look forward to visiting here. We will be back very soon.

This was our first time visiting the beautiful Kirton Cottage restaurant and it didn't disappoint in anyway.

This was a fantastic find, we were made to feel very welcome, we had a lovely meal beautifully cooked and served, it was quiet, cosy and really lovely.

Kirton Cottage is a superb little restaurant whose small exterior belies the fact that it seats some 26 covers and has a lovely cosy Bar upstairs for your pre or post dinner drinks. The service is warm and friendly but always with professional attention to detail. The food is excellent; traditional with a twist and beautifully presented. The cottage atmosphere is cosy with lovely decor, quality crockery and cutlery appropriate to the cottage environment - and the toilets are immaculate.

Once again superb food, melt in the mouth lamb, service from Laura and Courtney excellent, a great restaurant in a small town.

I took two of my friends for afternoon tea to celebrate their birthdays. As usual the service was excellent. There was a variety of sandwiches to choose from and also cakes. The scones, served with individual pots of jam and cream, were warm when brought to the table.

Where do i start,,from start to finish great communication upon booking.The lady showed us to our table and straight away the service was excellent from start to finish.Beautiful hot rolls and exquisite rose made out of butter,,washed down with a few bottles of red wine.We had the shared fish platter for starters which was presented very well and tasted great.We then had our mains,both of the specials board,Venison steak and minted rare lamb chops,,we both agreed that the meal was excellent,cooked to perfection.Pudding was scrumptious also.So as i said from start to finish we could not fault anything at all with our meal,service and friendlyness of hostesst.We will be defiantly returning without hesitation next year.Thanks again for everything,,what a true gem in Kirton.

We visited Kirton Cottage having spent the morning at Frampton RSPB Reserve a few minutes drive away. The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our three course lunch with drink and coffee. The food was brilliant, the service was excellent, the restaurant (and loos) immaculate. May I recommend this restaurant particularly if you are visiting Frampton.

I have paid two visits to the Kirton-Cottage this weekend and have not been disappointed! Not that I expected to be! The food was excellent, the service was impeccable and it was just a pleasure to be there.

My fingers were enjoying the sensory feel of a starched table cloth and napkin; this along with the table set with fresh flowers had immediately set the tone of what was to be an intimate birthday lunch for my wife.

We visited The Kirton Cottage for Afternoon Tea and it was amazing. If you go there only to try the home made chutney it wont be a wasted trip, plenty on the plate and unlimited tea. Great value for money and the man who I think is the owner is a very courteous polite man a great host.

I reviewed The Kirton Cottage after my first visit nearly 2 years ago when it first opened and was impressed with the whole experience, I have visited regularly since then and again this evening and Ambrish and Laura have maintained the high quality food and service that we expect and recieve from a high quality establishment such as this. Yes you can get cheaper but not for this quality of food, cooking and ambiance, personally if I'm going out for an evening I want to go somewhere with the confidence that everything will be first class and that is without doubt The Kirton Cottage. Well done Ambrish and Laura your doing a great job! The other reviews also reflect that this little restaurant in Kirton is well worth a visit you won't be disappointed.

we received a freindly welcome as we reached the front door it was opened by a smiling waitress, the tables were beautifully set with lnen and crystal glasses - always a promising sign, the chef exhanged a few words before heading to the kitchen, service throughout was efficient but not intrusive. We'd gone for Sunday lunch and all the choices were tempting but all four of us opted for the roast beef! we had three courses each and my treacle tart was the best I've ever tasted it was deep and soft and not overly sweet. we went on a recommendation and we'll be back when we've in the are again. it is a proper restaurant where the owners are evident and they are professionals

This was our third lunchtime visit to Kirton Cottage and it gets better every time. Our party of four were the only diners and we were treated more like friends than customers.

Once again in a lovely clean restaurant, food and service excellent, have booked to go again in a fortnight, can't wait!!

It was a Friday night, we were the only people in. Very limited menu's, vegetables zero taste. Very expensive . Went 2x to give it a go. Never again! Just did not like the food! Poor value for money!

My husband and I decided at the last minute to have sunday lunch here and they fitted us in with pleasure. The service, as always, was wonderful and the food delicious. The menu was varied and impressive with it being difficult to choose between the many tasty dishes. The raspberry cheesecake was especially tasty. And they certainly do not skimp on the servings.

We were the only customers at lunch so we got to enjoy a lovely quiet lunch. Very crispy fish cakes.

Ate with friends for lunch from the lunch menu , good variety and excellent value for money . Lovely tablecloths and place settings . Eclectic mix of china adds to the experience . Each course beautifully presented and served hot/cold as appropriate, each dish flavourful and tasty .

Over the past year or so we’ve visited Kirton Cottage Restaurant a few times (usually for a mid week lunch) and got to like it.

A great little place. Excellent quality, quite traditional style, food; and outstandingly attentive service. They had some lovely local bottled beers too. The desserts were by far the best course though - the homemade ice cream was some of the best we've ever tasted. Would highly recommend - it deserves to be packed out every night.

Had a fantastic meal from the 2 year anniversary menu. It is good to see the Cottage going from strength to strength. Long may it continue.

This is my second visit to The Cottage and I’m pleased to say that on both occasions I’ve been very more than happy by the experience.

Lovely clean well presented restaurant, food superb, lobster bisque soup great. Staff as always at hand but not intrusive, a really enjoyable evening booked again whilst there for my birthday.

On a quiet mid week night we had the place to ourselves. We imbibed in pre dinner drinks in the upstairs lounge before gorging ourselves in the ground floor eatery. We all had starters and all were excellent followed by well cooked excellently presented main courses. We were too full to try the desserts.

We had a really enjoyable meal, the food and service was excellent and even though we had to change our booking nothing was too much trouble

Excellent local produce. Cooked perfectly with very attentive service. In pleasant surroundings. This is a great place to dine.
