Stopped for a midmorning cuppa and tea cake. Also to pick up a order of various cakes for Yule. The two waitresses were both charming and professional. Kirsty took time to have a friendly chat despite being very busy. A very pleasant experience and will definitely be returning.

A return visit to Kirsty in her new premises, and very good as always. She has moved from one very old historic Great Yarmouth building to another a few yards away, just much bigger and with lovely outdoor seating next to the minster and priory. A real gem in the town. Food and pricing is great ( all cooked and baked on the premises - no cheap catering ready made stuff as some tea rooms try to trick us with) and a lovely friendly welcome from Kirsty, Jadie and staff. Locals and visitors to the town should support such a hard working local business providing a great service in the prettiest part of town.

Fancied a visit to Anna sewels house which was kirstys bakery. Found that it had moved to the vicarage next door. Food very nice simple but fresh. But sadly the decor was so old fashioned, shame because it was a beautiful room with a lovely fire place. If they changed there fabric choices something bright and inviting and change the black chair covers . Cushions on window seats and a few plants could bring it up to date. Staff very nice and friendly.

We had spent about an hour going round the minster next door and we needed a refreshment. It would be easy to miss Kirsty’s Bakery, she has a couple of rooms in a large Georgian building with some unobtrusive signage. We were shown into a delightful front room and we had a coffee and a tea, with cake, the cake was to go. A problem with the card payment machine was overcome by being sent a link to pay sometime later in the day, a problem handled well by Kirsty. £6.60 was good value

I currently live over 100 miles away from Great Yarmouth (<-- relevant for context) and was visiting a grandparent when I discovered this café. I hesitated to write this review as I was concerned that when I re-visited the café it would be completely full, however I decided to as not only did I read the bad reviews, which infuriated me, but also as it is a small business that deserves recognition. The café is small but that makes it more pleasant as less people means less noise and faster service. I ordered a chocolate milkshake and it was the most magnificent piece of art I have ever seen! The delicious chocolate milkshake was buried by a layer of chocolate ice cream and whipped cream, it was followed by a tower of moist chocolate chip brownies and more cream, and I can confirm that this was the most delicious dessert I have ever had. As I mentioned in the beginning, that I live very far away, I will 1000% be coming back here for my next chocolate milkshake, I could not recommend this café enough! Thankyou :)

Visited the Christmas Fair with a friend in the church on a horrible wet morning. On walking out of the church grounds saw the tea rooms and decided to warm up with a coffee. Lovely old worldly building with beams etc. Only had a milky coffee as it was a bit early for anything else although the selection of cakes looked very tempting. Everything on the menu very reasonable £2 for a lovely really hot cup of milky coffee which certainly warmed us up. Cream teas for £5 which is a good deal. Staff were lovely and when we asked about the building we were given a folder to look through with old photographs and different articles about the history of the building. Will definitely have to go back to finish reading it!

Came across this find by chance. Nice to have a break in a building with history. This is very small, 4 tables downstairs which are very close together. (i believe a few more upstairs but didnt go and look) The menu is restricted but chose a cream tea. (no sign of the afternoon teas shown on this site, maybe they need to be booked in advance) when I ordered I was told no fruit scones but they had cheese scones- oh well they will have to do. I was regretting saying this but wanted something. A few minutes later she came back and reeled off a list of alternative scones including plain- plain! Perfect! (no idea why these could not have been suggested originally but...) The scones were fine but nothing like enough cream and no butter offered. Drinks were ok (despite fooling me with the teapot- duhhhhhh!) It had its faults but nothing major - its the little things that prevented 5 stars.

Delightful venue, very pleasant staff. That’s where the positives stop. I called in for lunch on a bitterly cold day , the room although tiny was far from cosy , it was very cold. Indeed inside too. I ordered tea and a jacket potato with tuna and sweet corn. It duly arrived served on a cold plate, the jacket appeared to have been scooped from its shell and mushed up then replaced in the skin, my apologies if this wasn’t the case , but that’s how it seemed . The whole thing lacked flavour as did my cup of tea , both were cold before I was able to finish. Such a shame as I had high hopes !

Having wanted to visit for ages, we finally got round to popping in and I'm annoyed that we hadn't got round to do so sooner. The decor was very cute and charming, and everything about our visit was perfect. There was a good selection of cakes displayed so you got to have a good look at the choices, including fat free, diary free and gluten free cake options. I had the Victoria sponge cake which was delicious, very fresh and full of flavour. It was a nice size portion, not too good but not too small, just right! There was a good selection of tea and coffee and they even had soya milk which I was quite surprised about. We just had hot drinks and cakes but there was also a small selection of savoury meals such as sandwiches and jacket potatoes which were all reasonably priced. On my next visit I will definitely try one of these dishes as well as having cake. We were informed that the cakes change regularly so I'm looking forward to going back and trying another delicious cake. The service was very family and the staff were very efficient. We spoke to Kirsty who was very lovely and made us feel very welcome. We were most surprised when the bill came and for four of us having a hot drink and a cake it cost less than £14. We were expecting about £5 per person so we were pleasantly surprised. So all in all a very enjoyable visit, great food, great service, great venue and all at a great price. We will definitely be back.

Visited recently for the first time. Have been aware that Anna Sewells house had 'changed hands' and had actually passed it several times over the past year – however never realised it was actually a tea room! From a distance the fancy pink signage is very hard to read – In fact I had originally thought that it was a hairdressers! It is such a shame because they could really be losing business because of this, but equally understand the limitations with it being a listed building, but it should be clearer. They offer a slightly limited menu, however the food does appear to be freshly prepared. The window display is a little confusing as mainly shows examples Kirsty's talents in wedding and celebration cakes, although once you enter these delightful premises, you are somewhat disappointed to see only a couple of sad looking cakes under glass domes displayed on a very tiny shelf and so your expectations of what a tearoom has to offer are let down.Kirsty and her team are extremely friendly and welcoming and the tea room has the potential to do really well....but it is going to be let down by the fact that it is just on the quieter outskirts of the town (by St Nicholas Church) and people are probably going to be confused by the poor signage. And a better selection of proper 'tea room' cakes on display are needed.

I found this little tea room quite by chance nestling up along side Great Yarmouth Minster, a stones throw from the market, and it is a real gem. The proprietress, Kirsty, is a young lady who recently baked a cake for a civic reception attended by Prince Charles. He was so impressed with the civic cake, he took home a smaller version for himself. The premises are located in Anna Sewell House, so named because this is where the authoress was born in the 19 century. The tea room, whilst small, is sensibly laid out with ample room for diners to eat in comfort. In addition to the selection of cakes on show, which are all homemade on the premises and decorated by Kirsty, there is also a selection of sandwiches and light snacks. I can thoroughly recommend the Simnel cake but the coffee cake and carrot cake looked equally as appetising. For an unusual present, Kirsty is currently doing a cake in a flower pot for mothers day with sponge, chocolate earth and edible icing flowers. In time, I am informed the first floor will be available to book for small private parties. Externally there is a small green. Whilst outside tables and chairs in the summer might be out of the question, a rug on the green with a selection of pastries, cakes and pot of tea would make a good alternative. This is one tea room worth sourcing out when in town.

Extremely disappointing experience as residents as bed and breakfast at the hotel is not cheap. The juice was orange coloured but had probably never seen an orange, no option of fruit or yoghurt with cereals (you can have either/ or), no choice of milk offered, no toast unless you have full English, no top up of tea or coffee offered and a chipped plate. Staff unable to confirm ingredients in a Continental breakfast which in any event apparently comes ready plated. It all seemed a bit penny pinching and for the sake of offering a couple of slices of toast and a pot of yoghurt a bit pathetic.
