Chico's Fish Bar & Restaurant in Great Yarmouth

Fantastic restaurant They offer 4 beers on tap two larger one IPA and a cider also lots of bottles of beer to choose from and also wine by the glass red white and rosy Husband had beef kebab I had chicken kebab which I asked for chilly flakes on it was delicious perfectly cooked also asked the waitress for some chilly sauce which she made up for me The restaurant is very clean the toilets are excellent So clean The staff are very friendly and very efficient The dessert are good value for money I had a homemade crème brûlée the husband had homemade jam roll with custard fantastic They also serve fresh fish and lobster which the table next to us had it look delicious We will be returning soon Thank you

Good service, only one beer on tap, food was only ok. Chicken kebab was dry and rather plain, needed spicing up a bit. Overall ok, but that's the best we would say.

My partner and her friend took me here for my birthday, Food was amazing and the service was very good. If you are looking for somewhere to eat al9ng the seafront then take a look at this place you won't regret it.

We came here because of the reviews. Positives- very friendly and welcoming staff. Two of our four meals were quite enjoyable - my husband's mussels and daughter's chicken wings. My homemade lasagne was solid melted cheese with very little else going on underneath - I dug around and found one meatball but nothing much else. My son's crab claws were tough and a little tasteless, and the portion of food small considering the price. All plates were extremely costly (most around 30 pounds) and we were told, as we were choosing, that the kitchen closed at 7.30pm, when we were booked for 7.15. I've never been to a restaurant whose kitchen closes that early - we were looking forward to a nice evening together and instead felt rushed. Anyway, between us we had enough to eat but all in all a little disappointed. Such a shame because the staff here are absolutely delightful.

Third time my wife and I have been and it's always superb. The restaurant is cosy, the staff are very friendly and the food is absolutely top notch! I'm still trying to work out how they make every ingredient and dishe taste so good.

Best steak tomahawk steak ever. Love from the Alan's family. We loved it for lady Alan's bday and we will be back for sure. £50 quid for tomahawk great price 👍

Great food it is relatively expensive for the area. However, quality comes at a price. We have returned many times and enjoyed most of our meals here.

We always eat here when we visit Yarmouth and it never fails to impress. The food is amazing and is good value for the money given the quality in my opinion. The grilled Salmon steak was amazing.

It was our second time visiting Chico’s in just over a year. We try to visit different places wherever we go, but the fact we have visited again speaks for itself. Both times we have had excellent meals. This time around we had the lamb kleftiko, mussels and two children’s meals. Yes it is at the slightly higher end of the price point, but I am happy to pay for good food and service. The service is great. The people working there are lovely and fully engaged and accommodating. I had the mussels for the second time, just as delicious as the first time. We also had the lamb, which just fell off the bone. Love Chicos!

We visited on a weekday for a nice birthday meal, we were amazed by the awesome service, fantastic food and portion sizes and how.caring the wait staff were, the owner/Manager checking in on us to see how we were doing! Honestly 5 out of 5 stars. If you’re visiting GY you NEED to visit chicos!

Chico’s……. Well, what is there to say?. Wow what an evening we had. The staff are so friendly. Made you feel relaxed and more than helpful when asked for suggestions. The food is just something else. We chose the surf & Turf sharing platter. OMG!!! What an epic meal. Tomahawk steak (huge!!) Lobster (Huge) and fries. I advise, if you go, go on an empty stomach. There are no words that will express our gratitude for such a wonderful meal. Thank you all at Chico’s. See you all again soon.

Unfortunately after reading the other reviews I’m afraid we didn’t have a great meal in this restaurant. We ordered a very expensive seafood platter costing £109 for the two of us which we expected it to be good quality. Unfortunately that wasn’t what we got, Yes we had a whole lobster and some octopus, squid, prawns and mussels.However the quality of the food wasn’t great and it was covered in some thick chilli tomato sauce consistency sauce. The crispy squid rings weren’t crispy as it was covered in the sauce which made them soggy. We was expecting the sauce to be hot as it was advertise as hot kicking which we like but it was bog standard for the price and even had potatoes in it which wasn’t advertised. The pitta bread wasn’t given to us until we had to ask for it and was given to us half way through the meal. We ordered a bottle of red wine which was hot when it was poured and I asked the waitress to put it in the fridge as it shouldn't be that warm. I was then told but the lady that that’s how it should be served and unfortunately I didn't ask for mulled wine, it was red wine which is served at room temperature not a bottle that seemed to be left by a radiator. I never leave bad reviews and I’m hoping that our experience was a one off. I’m just very disappointed as I’ve been looking forward to coming to this restaurant for some time and was pleased to get a last minute table. However, I won’t be back anytime soon.

Been coming to Chico’s regularly for the last 3 years and every time we come the food and service has been exceptional. The Sea Bass is superb and if you can get through the Big Boy’s Grill (which is top quality by the way) you’ll have done well. 10/10

Had a fabulous meal, chose prawn and crayfish starter and chicken kebab for main and both were outstanding. The chicken was cooked to perfection and the chips were lovely and crispy but soft on the inside. The guys sat at tables either side of us were having the tomahawk steak and mixed grill…..both took doggy bags home!!

Lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff/service - we were very well looked after. The food was average though - a poor quality lobster thermidor sauce for example (gloopy, loads of garlic and rosemary, plus not gratinéed). Disappointing as we expected better, but to be fair, probably one of the best in Great Yarmouth.

Had amazing lobster which both me and my son enjoyed. Liked so much so we decided to come again the following day and have the sea food platter(pic attached) would highly recommend but also suggest to pre book to avoid disappointment. It’s dog friendly

Stopped off here to have dinner while on a broads boating holiday. Food in fantastic. My wife and son had the lobster thermidor, I had steak and daughter had salmon. Was so good we went back the next night and largely made our decision to stay an extra night in great Yarmouth on the back of my wife wanting the seafood platter! It was also great. Team are friendly and attentive, it's a little dark in the restaurant, but otherwise nice. Dogs and slightly adventurous child friendly.

First time at Chicos and I can honestly say the meal I had was absolutely perfect, I had fillet steak and hubby had fillet of beef stroganoff,, the beef just fell apart, staff were very welcoming, very clean restaurant, Definitely will be booking again, thank you Chico, Maxine and all the lovely staff for making our night so perfect, see you soon xx

Food was basic but cooked perfectly and was tasty, restaurant itself felt like tables are too close together. Staff were friendly but I felt a bit rushed by them, as soon as mains were finished we were given the dessert menu. Overall food was good but expensive for what you get, and for the price I’ve had better, so wouldn’t be my first choice to go to again.

First time me and my wife have been here. Was made to feel welcome. The staff were polite and helpful, food was 10 out of 10. (Not small portions) Would definitely come back again and will be recommending this place to friends and family A+++

We had a lovely meal here. Dog and child friendly. The staff were lovely and looked after us well. The seafood was perfectly cooked - moist and tender but a bit too much garlic in everything. We thought it was a bit pricey for what you get.

Lovely family run Greek owned restaurant right on the seafront. Excellent Filet steak perfectly cooked, great wine list, huge desserts and yummy after dinner boozy coffees. Lovely service from the "family" who works here and enjoys what they do. Such a gem!

Nice place for fresh seafood and infamous tomahawk steak. Corridor seating is a bit of a squeeze for 4! Started with a very nice prawn and crayfish salad.. Quaintly served with olde bread and butter.. Portion was large enough for main meal, even without the bread! We followed with whole lobster with garlic sauce. Very fresh and topped with more crayfish to give you more to eat. Perfectly cooked. Although we felt the garlic sauce was quite overpowering. Tomahawk steak, was very good. Again comes with garlic sauce and a side of pepper sauce, onion rings and chips. Although not mentioned on the menu. Lobster price appears to be seasonal as the price for us went up by £10. Despite the extra cost and generous lashings of garlic sauce the food was of a very high standard. And we certainly will not be seeing any vampires tonight .

Incredible food; so fresh and tasty! They were so welcoming as we had a dog they gave us a table in the front. Food didn’t take long at all to arrive and when it did it didn’t disappoint, some of the best seafood I’ve ever eaten! The old adage, you get what you pay for is definitely true in this restaurant. The food was exquisite, the service spot on and the total experience was great. Out for a meal with good friends. The two ladies had the seafood sharing platter and we both had the mixed grill. All cooked to perfection. A good range of wines, beers and spirits from the UK and Cyprus. Not the cheapest, but definitely worthwhile and value for money. Would definitely recommend

Went there with family based on very good reviews. Two of three meals were very good but the one I've had wasn't good. It was a pork kebab : pita bread wasn't warm and pork was dry, hard and slightly cold. I didn't like it and I expressed that to the staff. I regret that I should say something straight away instead of waiting till the end. Anyway I paid full price even though I think I should get the discount or not be charged for meal which went to bin. This place isn't cheap so I would expect more professional approach.

Went for the first time got seated nice staff lovely atmosphere in there. We ordered our food and it was nice and hot when it arrived , We had cod which was lovely size one had steak which melted in your mouth and a cheese burger but not in a bun but in pita bread which was lovely 😊lovely meal all round we will visit again .

Good portion sizes, hot dishes, wide range of cuisine,good staff treatment.I’m very pleased with my visit.

Everything is prepared with care, tastes delicious and is obviously very fresh. You might be tempted to go for the fish and chips, being on the seaside, but I highly recommend trying the BBQ chicken wings with their home made sauce. They’re lip smackingly spectacular. We enjoyed everything that we ordered and would love to visit again if we’re ever in the area.

Honestly. CAN NOT RATE HIGH ENOUGH. Amazing prices, portions, hospitality & menu variety! The mussels where fresh, steak cooked perfectly to request, kids meals where amazing value & the baileys cheese cake is to die for. Eyes defiantly bigger than my belly but totally worth it!

Just had an amazing meal @ Chico’s. We had the Chico’s special seafood platter. The quality of the seafood and the dish itself was absolutely superb!! Could not fault it. The staff were amazing too! I would highly recommend them. They’re awesome.

Had a lovely meal of grilled skate with lemon butter sauce and Greek salad. Beautifully cooked fish, fresh crispy salad and very generous portions, it was delicious. Service was friendly and professional and the bill was very reasonable.

Visited Great Yarmouth at the weekend and went to Chico’s based on all the amazing reviews. It did not disappoint! Food was incredible and service was amazing. The only slight complaint I would have is that the food took almost an hour, but it’s understandable since everything is cooked fresh and we ordered quite a lot! Therefore that won’t affect my 5 star review. A little pricey, but totally worth it! The atmosphere was really great.

Don't miss the opportunity of having the best GreekCypriot food I've ever had! Chico hails from Nicosia and his food is a serious standard equal to anything I've had in Cyprus or the other Greek Islands we've visited. Fabulous!

Please go to Chico’s you will love it. Firstly the staff are so welcoming and kind, we didn’t have a booking and they managed to accommodate us during a busy time. The staff were attentive and friendly and I cannot fault the service. At first glance at the menu it starts to look pricey, your mind starts ticking over .. is this going to be another over priced restaurant? Am I going to feel mugged off when the bill arrives? Is the food really worth this much? Well you absolutely get what you pay for. The portions are hefty and everything is packed with flavour. And most importantly EVERYTHING seems as if it is cooked fresh. Yes you have to wait a little longer but it’s a small price to pay for such a memorable meal. My partner had the big boy mixed grill with a creamy peppercorn sauce and I had a sirloin steak with a king prawn topper and garlic butter. Both meals were absolutely flawless! We will definitely be returning!

This was probably the best Seafood plater that has ever passed my lips. Delicious on a whole new level. Staff are friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for squeezing us in on our Anniversary, We will be back soon as we simply must try the whole menu.

Had the full lobster sharing platter and it was faultless. Everything cooked to perfection and lovely dining space with lovely staff, it was worth every penny. We didn't book so we were lucky to get in. Well worth a visit when you are in great Yarmouth. In short just great sea food. If the owner reads this, thank you for a lovely meal.

We choose Chico's to accommodate a table off 13 people celebrating our Grandson's 17th Birthday! Being fairly local travelling from Norwich, Reading the existing reviews! Found the Service was very good from friendly staff, Food was OK, but, not worth top prices we paid! For instance, £11.95 for a King prawn starter consisting of 4 x prawns! We had idea of this before ordering it! T bone steak was OK, cooked well, not very tasty in our honest opinion. We have paid good money for good food in lots of different restaurants, in many areas of our country, unfortunately this time we were overcharged for the quality of food given. The menu price does not reflect on the food you are served. I am a great believer in you get what you pay for! (but not this time) unfortunately Chico's did not live up to our expectations! We will not return.

Visited Chico’s restaurant today (saturday 2nd July) We was booked in for 5pm , on arrival beautiful greeting from all the staff & manageress , service was fantastic from start to finish by all the staff including the chefs as we were leaving they all checked in on us to make sure we enjoyed their food . We was a family of 5 and from starters to mains all was perfect . Service was 5⭐️ All round , And the Resturant manageress takes pride in her restaurant it’s obvious to the eye how clean this place is, and standards are high . Thank you all for your service today , we definitely will be back again soon. Steve

I'm a good cook myself and it's very difficult to impress me. However, food at Chico's restaurant today was absolutely amazing! People who run this place are professionals, and chef is unquestionably a Star! We live in Maidstone but booked a table in July for our next visit in Norfolk. Well done!
