Kingsway Fish and Chips in Gloucester

They new crew should take fish and chips off the menu. It was dreadful and went straight in the bin!!! The previous owner made excellent fish and chips. We had been going there for several years. They will be missed.

They say they are open from 4pm but nobody answers the phone. Yes!, very good fish and chips but customer service is poor. They only take cash and no card as well.

Fantastic chips. I bought a bag of chips from here two nights ago and they were so good I bought another last night for tea. I haven't had chips that taste this good for years. My photo is of them half eaten - sorry - they were very tasty. When I go there again I'll take a photo before I've eaten most of them :-)

Amazing food, certainly the best in the area. Ordered large Cod n Chips with curry sauce, surprised to see the Cod the size of a slice of shark, perfectly cooked with super lush batter, large portion of perfectly cooked lush chips and amazing curry sauce at a much greater affordable price and better potion sizes than local average competition and all with a with super friendly professional and great service. Well done Kingsway Fish and Chips, keep this level of service going and you will win. Fēicháng gǎnxiè Dex (a fussy mad Northern Irish eater). 10 out of 10!

The fish is the freshest we have ever had from a fish and chip shop, or even a restaurant. The pieces of fish are large and lightly battered, not swimming in grease. Chips are good an not your normal soggy ones normally got from chippys. We have been going here for a few months now and not once has the quality dipped below excellent. Thoroughly recommend a visit here even if not local like us, well worth the drive and you will not be disappointed. 30_09_22 update Here we are a couple years later and still never fail to impress with quite of food, light batter, potion size and friendly greeting and service. Sometimes work away from home and have tried others using Kinggsway Fish and Chips as a Datum/yard stick and noone ever comes near to the quality etc. Should be entered into Fish and Chip shop of the year as they would be a really serious contender to take the Crown. Well done to Kingsway Fish and Chip shop, keep up the high standards and good work.

The best fish and chips in Gloucester 🐟, We go every Tuesday after ballet lessons as a little treat, the lady and gentleman behind the counter are always so polite and friendly, they take pre orders from us no problems and the fish and chips are the best, portion sizes very generous too! Highly recommended 👌

Love the chicken burger, lunch time meal deals are good value. All in all a decent fish and chips

Just had fish n chips from Kingsway and they were absolutely wonderful, fresh cod and tasty chips. They are the best 👌

Poor service time. Very slow . Cheap potatoes chips had no taste . Had a doner kebab in the order which was excellent I was told . Curry sauce a little starchy. If you go have a kebab I guess is the moral of this story .

Got a doner kebab last night was looking forward to it till I got home. Opened the box was disappointed the salad was warm and floppy got to the meat thick cut swimming in fat and under cooked.And the pitta was a write off swimming in grease it was a filthy kebab and not the nice kind

Not had any fish and chips for ages. We ordered 4 x large cod with chips. Honestly we were amazed. The fish were large, tasty, not swimming in oil and great batter. One of the best pieces of fish I have had anywhere in the UK including Padstow.

Have had meals here at the weekend and they have been OK, but went mid-week chips were old dry and reheated, pies were microwaved and soggy and pastry not good, paid £14 for total order waste of money and most of it went in the bin won't be back again

Chips is looking so good they use new oil to cook it, Fish is fresh and juice ,well done guys keep going.

It’s became much worse under the new management....very disappointed. We were regular customers, but now - won’t be back again. Same money, but smaller portions, and chicken tastes no good, wasn’t properly cooked. It’s a shame

Food undercooked overpriced for cheap food and very rude indeed will not be going there plus wot looked like rat droppings on floor

It was my local at one point. Very hit and miss I no longer go here as #9 chips along the road give great food every time

I ordered a kebab with fries and a salad, I got something like this, a pile of cooked and not fried fries plus cold meat and 2 slices of cucumber tomato slice, I will never buy again !!! I do not recommend !!!! And 40 min wait😡😡

Extremely clean shop,friendly staff and Great fish & chips,burgers and kebabs.

Ordered food. Including a pie. it was stone cold by the time I waled a few minutes home. Other items on order was wrong and over charged. If the rest of the food wouldn't of gone cold would of taken it all back!

Under new management and there seem to be a few hygiene issues, hairs have been found in my chips.

Does what it says. Go for fish without batter to make a better choice. Have water based sauces and less meat more salad for a more healthy kebab.
