Kings Head Pub in City of London, Westminster

If you want a lovely meal and quaint London pub atmosphere without the frenzy or prices of the High Street and tourist traps of Notting Hill and Bayswater or Kensington Park, make your way to this place. It's just around the corner from Bayswater tube station or an easy walk from any of the places I've mentioned. We had one of the best pub meals here that we've had in London in ages! And it's a nice place to chill out. Also, is dog friendly! Thanks for your hospitality, Peter (manager) and food (Nadia). We'll be back :)

We settled here with 2 families. We received a super friendly welcome and delicious food! A truly English pub, with good food and drinks, warm and cozy and normal prices.

Enjoyed my meals there, as it's a short walk from my hotel. Decent food and drinks, environment is nice and cosy.

Basic English cuisine. We had reserved and waited 5 minutes in front of the bar when we arrived, with the waiter and the bartender who walked past us several times without speaking to us. We were then placed at the entrance to the toilets. The place is however beautiful and well decorated for the Christmas period :)

The service leaves something to be desired. Serving disorderly. Be careful with your wallet inside the pub. Plus the staff doesn't care.

Fakhir was our waiter and he did a very good job. He told us what his favorite dessert was and it was really delicious. The food was very tasty. Something went wrong with placing the order, so we received a round of free drinks, so that was resolved very nicely and sweetly. Furthermore, the food was of good quality.

We absolutely loved the Kings Head Pub in London! Particularly noteworthy is the waiter Falkhir, who was incredibly friendly and accommodating - a real plus. The food was excellent and we also really enjoyed the cider. A perfect place for a relaxing evening. Absolutely recommended!

We went there just for few drinks but decided to stay longer for food as well as atmisphere was fantastic, staff quick and very nice! And turned round the food was also good. Iam glad we stayed, great evenibg out!

We went there last night & also came the day before yesterday because of the service experience, we were warmly welcomed both times by young boy on duty made sure of our needs he was energetic + attentive ☺️. perhaps Fakir was the name (this is what we could understand when we asked his name) the food is also recommended kyiv and chicken burger 😋😋

The man who takes the order is very rude. He yelled at us, gave us drinks and didn't want to sell us food, saying that they were very busy. I don't recommend it

It was a very cozy place, a bit outskirts of Notting Hill. The food was fascinating, and the service was great. We asked if we can share some plates, then the crew (Probably his name is Fakhir) even divided the plate in two separate plates! I will definitely come back when I come around Notting Hill again!

I have visited with a bunch of coworkers, whilst everyone got their food and drinks I still have not (I ordered some halloumi fries and hot chocolate 19:16). Went up to the bar at 19:48 to get a refund and right then got told that my drink is ready and that they are very busy. As someone who works in hospitality the pub was not busy at all, even saw the manager looking at himself at the bar mirror whilst it being "really busy". Definitely would not recommend.

We sat down at a table for dinner and it was in the middle of the meal that we were told that 10 minutes later the table was reserved for other people. There were no more tables available and we weren't even offered an apology. The dish was not qualitative.

Great little pub not far from Kensington park. Had the mulled wine for $9 a person and it was nice. Had a fresh slice of orange and cinnamon stick in it. The pub was overall cozy and the bartender was very sweet ! Didn’t have a chance to eat here unfortunately.

Update the schedule please. Both on the website and on Google it says that they serve meals until 10:00 pm. However, yesterday after previously checking and going there, we arrived at 9:10 pm and they told us that the kitchen was closed. Disappointing

Menu on the door is not offered inside. They haven’t updated the sign. Dessert only served with ice-cream not the offered clotted cream or custard. Mulled wine stone cold. Soup served with tiny crust - 2 very small slices. Go to the pub on the corner instead.

Very friendly, with great British humor

Fish and chips were lukewarm, steak just a stone. Sports was on, the sound was so loud that you could barely hear each other. Unfriendly staff.

Nice atmosphere and really good food, better than at some restaurants. We had the Chicken Kyiv, the Mushroom chicken pie, and the peach tart tatin - all of them delicious. They also have a wide range of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic. Very helpful and attentive staff

Server made multiple order mistakes which resulted in over one hour wait for food. Manager was more or less indifferent to the problem. Food was average at best. With three younger children this was not a good experience. Traveler's Choice award 2024 rating is very curious. I would not recommend for anything other than drinks.

We had a wonderfully delicious dinner with cask ales at this pub. Steak and ale pie was fabulous.

Recently went to the King's Head in Bayswater to watch the football, have something to eat and a few drinks. We watched a good game, had some excellent food and enjoyed a few fine beers. The bar staff were very engaging and the atmosphere was very friendly. All in all my friends and I had a great night.

Great pub vibe with an excellent selection of beers on tap. Their bitter was superb. The food is hit and miss. The fish and chips falling into the latter category.

Quiet pub for a weekend lunch. Staff were not really friendly but not rude either. Food was served quickly and the quality was alright. Portions were more than generous.

Really great place for a family pub lunch ( and watch the football on large screen TV ) my family and me where visiting from NZ and had a great roast beef dinner with all the trimmings.. great value and service

When we entered this place at 8.00 pm no one paid us a glance, as there were some free tables we sat down. A little boy approaches asking 'are you okay?' and then leave without even waiting. The owner passed by us 3-4 times without paying the slightest attention to us. Finally I manage to stop the boy and ask if it was possible to order, he replies that I have to order at the counter: so I follow him. (8.20pm) In front of me two gentlemen were ordering food but as soon as my turn came the owner told me with a nice smile that: 'no, you can't order food, only drinks'. The kitchen is obviously open and the rest of the customers continue to order without problems. I would add the fact that the table was decidedly sticky and it was very hot in the room, which is why I avoided any discussion and left as soon as possible. Absolutely unworthy welcome.

Steak and Ale pie is recommended, as is Abbot's Ale. Nice service, beautiful to look at from the outside with the many hanging flowers.

Good pub food at a reasonable price

Enjoyed a pint of cindar with friends and wife. Not too noisy and nice atmosphere. Rebuilt in 1926

BE CAREFUL, I had my phone stolen inside this pub, they don't have any kind of security. Plus there are only two people to serve the whole pub, it becomes a mess and everything takes too long and obviously the staff won't be in a good mood because of that.

We had mushrooms for curry with beans and rice. Absolutely perfect. Then a large Guinness, a small Guinness, a large Guinness, a double amstel beer. And then their English atmosphere :-)

Peter was very rude! He should not be dealing with the customers. Messed up our bar and food order several times and had to pay multiple times. Would not recommend!

Understaffed then some grumpy female staff member came on late and was cold and blunt so we left the bar after spending 200 quid and decided to carry on elsewhere.

Quiet pub apart from the big screens for the matches. You need to order at the checkout. If you wait for your order at the table you risk being seated all evening. Good food and normal service. However I recommend it

we had amazing lunch here during Notting Hill Carnival. vibe was so good, music just right. staff was very relaxed and fun. definitely recommending!

Great old tavern with decent pub grub

This staff was extremely rude. We went to use the DUSK app to redeem our drinks, but he told us to wait till other (paying) customers were served first and we waited at the bar for over 10 minutes. When there was no other customers anymore, despite saying "excuse me, sir" multiple times, he completely ignored us, choosing instead to open the safe and count cash. When he finally decided to acknowledge us, he told us to read the barcode numerous times. If his hearing is bad or couldn’t get what we said, he could take our phone and put the number or simply scan the barcode as other bars do. When we sighed out of frustration, he told us to move on and leave the bar. We only stayed there because we already ordered food before this happened. If not, we would have left immediately. It was so obvious that he didn’t want to give out free drinks. If that’s the case, why even bother participating DUSK? This was, without a doubt, the most horrendous experience we've ever had at a bar and don’t recommend anyone to go there. *p.s. female bartender was friendly even though we couldn’t get order from her as she wasn’t aware how to redeem the DUSK app.

You can breathe the air of a typical London pub. Amazing fish and chips. A piece of advice: don't go after 8.30pm because the kitchen closes around 9pm and the staff starts to get impatient... In any case I would go back

More than an hour of waiting to get your meal! Plus you have to check because the garlic bread is missing! We tried to chat with the manager who didn't apologize... Damage

A disaster: 1h15 wait for very average and rather meager dishes. Additionally, some items were missing. If we had not paid the addition to the order we would have left. Finally, the waitresses are unfriendly. We do not recommend this place.

Delicious meal! Even my picky eater kids (ages 9, 11 and 13) cleaned their plates! We had the vintage Mac and cheese, fish and chips, sirloin, and chicken and bacon sandwich. Everything was wonderful! Would definitely eat here again and wish we had tried it earlier in our trip so we could come back!

Great typical english sport pub with great atmosphere to watch football. The pub is full during Euro football games ! Our food was delicious and great portions. There is a lot of beer choices and team are friendly ! We recommend this place and we will come back to watch the Euro Cup !

Staff is crap, blonde girl with low knoledge of eglish, she sk arrogant and to far abusive. Like her to kick off, she can't take possition where she is!!!. Know english,know where she is!!!

Avoid. At least, the fish and chips. Not sure what the other reviewer who sang it's praises was served... Overpriced, poor quality and not as advertised. (1) See the pic of the menu description. Note the description for the peas and the chips. You can see that the (miserly portion of) peas was not "crushed" in any way! And the chips hadn't been adequately cooked once, let alone multiple times aka "triple-cooked"(2) What's up with the portion sizes? Are frozen peas expensive? And potatoes? At least there was no service charge on top of that £17 bill. I ate the whole meal, but I didn't love it, and wish I'd gone elsewhere.
