What a lovely spot for a great Sunday lunch, I had the lamb and it was perfect, I couldn't finish! The locals were charming and we were also treated to the football. We stayed for a few games of pool and the Butt Combe flowed. A little gem in this great little town

A characterful down to earth pub with friendly bar staff. It's a sports pub but it does have a back room without a telly.

Attended recently for an after funeral wake for the first time in 20 years. Lovely friendly staff and even the pub dog (That don't normally like me) left me alone so that was good! Very reasonably priced drinks, the HPA was lovely and clean and crisp from the draught, the wake went very smoothly and we were very well accomodated. Some outdated furniture and could do with a spruce up, some of that decor was there 20 years ago!

Went here with a couple of friends. Did seem like quite a “locals” pub when we first walked in but everyone was very friendly and no one made us feel unwelcome like some people in pubs tend to do. Bartender was very polite too

We felt about as welcome as an adder in a lucky dip. The man who served us was unfriendly and unhelpful, looked like he'd lost the will to live. Charged us £19.70 for 3 pints of Carling, a J20, 1 small bag of crisps and a small packet of dried roasted nuts. Will never step foot in there again! Must stick to who we know such welcoming pubs i.e. The Swan, The Phez and Ozzie's.

Avoid! Low stocked bar . No drinks like tequila. Bought jäger bombs and was not severed correctly. From being a past bar /hotel manger myself I believe the lines on the larger weren’t kept clean that the larger wasn’t great! Run down inside and not the cleanest table legs with years of drinks Mark’s not cleaned properly . Not a pleasant place to take friends and definitely not a family or child safe pub , owner is rude and unprofessional.. and the plus side there a heater and a smoker hut .. Newport has plenty of pubs the bridge the next pub up is a-lot nicer …

Stopped off on a whim and so glad we did. Great Sunday roast, fantastic value, just like good home made food, very warm welcome. Gorgeous dogs too. Lounge and bar area with great log burner going on a chilly day. Also a great pint. Highly recommended the chocolate fudge cake. Will be returning, thank you.

A warm welcome is always assured in the King's Head. Very good value home-cooked food and a good selection of real ales to drink with it. Try the Sunday lunch for a traditional, like Mum cooked, roast dinner.

Just had our first amazing Sunday lunch here. We had pate and the mushrooms for starters both were outstanding then we had the slow cooked beef for our main the portion size was brilliant and the beef itself just melted in the mouth. Highly recommend, great staff very friendly and welcoming great value for money

Sadly this pub/restaurant is now closed .I went there with my family aged 12 to 76 . The menu had very good choices of starters mains and desserts. The food was beautifully cooked. The service was excellent, friendly but not overbearing or hurried. The pub is a very clean quaint old English pub with nooks and crannies. My brother and son loved the fact it was a free house and had a good selection of ales and beers. I will defiantly be going back for another meal on my next family visit to the Telford area.( 2014 )

came in on Friday and I was so displeased with the service! the owners or managers was arguing at the till for so long, and flirting it felts so unprofessional. I was waiting for atleast 5 minutes to get my order, all whilst the pair was arguing all for mediocre coffee! Do not recommend
