Really easy to order through their app, food & drinks came reasonably quickly. We were really impressed with the food, best beef roast dinner I've had in ages. Well worth the money.. We will be back!!

All good . Had worse here in the past . This was much better. Today took my granddaughter . was busy but staff coped well. Only thing food was on floor under tables .

Was servered by Fred he was very polite, smiling, cheerful and asking if everything was okay and had everything we needed.

Good service and large, hot meals, but several issues were evident on our visit. Two members of the bar didn't know what a port and lemonade was. We ordered 6 meals, only 5 came out. We had to wait somewhere between 5-10 minutes for the 6th. When the 6th meal came out, it was hot, but the chicken was dry from being overcooked Despite holding an independent cask ale accreditation, no real ale has been available on two separate visits

Friendly staff and great service. The food was really nice and served very quickly, especially as it was busy & from what we saw, only one lady serving all the tables. She kept a smile and made everyone feel welcome. Would recommend.

Food is excellent value for money, drinks very reasonable ,food arrived quickly seems to be a problem with table clearing,otherwise no problems at all

Food was disgusting and very over cooked. My burger was dry and tasted like charcol. Asked for medum rare steak and it was borderline burnt. Lamb kofta flatbread had no indication that it was spicy and got sent back because it was way to spicy, ordered something else that took way to long amd when i asked the staff how long it would be i was told it wasnt even being made. Staff was very unhelpful apart from one wonderful lady named suzie who did try her best to make up for it and even gave us a free ice cream sunday.

With the exception of the price of food being a chain pub I won't hurry to return. Table we sat was dirty to the point we found the cleaning products and wiped it over ourselves. The wait on food well I lost count after an hour. When food arrived requested some extra gravy which turned up 40mins later when we were about to leave. And I didn't see a smile in the place to go with any of the above compliments.

My son named Frankie Been to your restaurant twice because he come here for his first time with Kevin and Olivia green and We came here for the first time (Frankie’s second time) but the food was amazing that I love you cooking nicely to the customers but If I had the kitchen like this, I’ll be making the new hungry horse: Fried Hutch. We visited as a party of 8. Absolutely horrific service. A young member of our group had her food within 10 minutes of ordering. It then took 20 minutes for another three meals to arrive. I asked about the remaining meals and was told sorry they are coming out next. Then another three came. 50 minutes after ordering I asked where my meal was (nachos) to be told they were being made. They came out and the cheese has a skin on it so it has obviously been sat waiting. I asked them to send it back to the kitchen and I’d just get a refund as everyone else had now finished eating. The staff were rude and argued at the table. The bar said they’d refunded the money for the meal and it still hasn’t been credited back to my account, this was 6 days ago now. I can honestly say that I, nor the friends I was out with will ever return.

We have not been here for a number of years but decided to go again last night. The food ,service, and staff were all excellent. The food is chain pub food .However.it was just what we wanted. Thank you, Cookoo Oak, we will be back .

10 August 2024 ordered 2. meals 1 was crispy chicken sandwich of super Saturday no garlic bread on a Saturday spoken to very rude and just told pick another meal

We’ve become rather regular to the Cuckoo Oak over the past couple of years. The location is perfect for us to either walk or drive. The majority of staff are friendly, the management team are extremely welcoming and definitely what keeps us coming back. Being a Hungry Horse pub, the food is very affordable with varying offers throughout the week. Drinks offers are also really good too. I don’t drink but if I was going on a sesh, this is where I would be doing it! We’ve been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and all have been great. Sometimes there’s a bit of a wait on food but that’s to be expected when it’s busy. We always pre book a table for larger group visits or a Friday evening as it is a popular location. Thank you to Charlotte, Coral and your team for always being so welcoming and making sure we have a great visit!

Ordered two burgers. Both patties were crispy outside and dry inside. The only reason I decided to eat them was the fact that one was covered in BBQ sauce and the other dipped in the chilli con carne. Beer, cleanliness, and service are the same as any other Hungry Horse pub - nothing special but not bad either.

First time in this kind of pub in a long time, staff were lovely, friendly, happy, polite, very helpful. Food was very nice, I had chicken New yorker, & my husband had the gammon, both were lovely & would have again & recommend, I had baked alaska desert, which was a little to frozen still but was very nice. All in all a good experience & would return if in area again.

Food was fab, staff could smile a bit more just like Lucy :) Food came out really hot and lovely presentation! Tables could do with a bit more of a clean and maybe tables without graffiti on them.. The toilets could do with an upgrade and possibly some air freshners. Other than that Food was fab

The service today was amazing, my son brought me here after raving about the food and service, he was right, Fred who looked after us most the visit was kind, friendly and most importantly went the extra mile even though they were rushed off their feet. The manager also helped us and again even though rushed off her feet, she found time to help us. Unfortunately I did not catch her name, but she should be proud of the service we received today. I would highly recommend.

Me and my wife went for some lunch today 27/7/24 unfortunately this place has gone down hill we used use it regularly but we ordered sizzler plates and the food on it was burnt and stuck to the plate the staff did offer to recook it but we didn't have time to wait all the food was over cooked and dry all the tables are sticky even though the staff do wipe them down the whole place just seems dated and could do with a good clean which is unfortunate because it used to be a really nice place

We regularly go here (a bit too often probably ha ha). Very friendly staff, lovely food, lovely atmosphere, nothing is too much trouble. Have witnessed different members of staff dealing with awkward customers at times and each of them handle everything very professionally. Very upbeat staff (Suzie is always smiling & having a bit of banter with customers, even when under pressure). Working in hospitality isnt the easiest of jobs but they do a fantastic job.

Went for a meal with my husband before the England game. Reserved a table which was waiting for us. Had a beautiful meal off the new menu tried something new (cheeseburger chilli dipper) which was delicious. Just popped out on z Tuesday evening for a change, 3 pubs we tried didn't do food until Thursday?.. this was a delightful evening, nice to see the dominoes teams playing, food was lush, service was very helpful and polite may well become a Tuesday regular.. Well done cockoo oak team.

We took our family there today 23rd June 2024. It was my sons birthday..my partner, son and myself had the Sunday lunch. It was supposed to be topside of beef but it was incredibly fatty, tough to cut. Mashed potatoes were obviously frozen mash and all I can say it was 'smeared' on to the plate. The veg not cooked properly and the gravy came in the smallest gravy boat I've ever seen. Needless to say we won't be coming again for Sunday lunch. The Yorkshire pudding was non existent also very disappointed

We went today (3 of us) for lunch at noon. The service was pretty quick and the food was piping hot and cooked perfectly. Unfortunately we didn't get to have desserts as we were all full.

Often go for a pint and we've been for food too.. its pretty standard food. A massive menu and they have curry nights or 2 for 1 nights ect. Sport on the television's. Good value menu and portions, good ales and lagers. Plenty of seating outside and free parking

we have had a great meal tonight. we live close by and recently the food has been poor but today the food was brilliant and service amazing. we had to send a steak back as undercooked bit was really thick so not surprised but with no question got a new perfectly cooked one. the only down side was kids with tablets too loud and staff did not ask them to turn Them down..

Good meals today, chips a bit on the dry side didn't taste freshly cooked but passable. Very busy today.

Rubbish ordered light bites at 1 pm side of halloumi fries, x 2 sandwiches and a chicken wrap, delivered Halloumi within 15 minutes Had to wait another hour for the rest of the order was then blamed it was our fault by a member of staff because halloumi was classed as a starter (for one person I must add). Poor quality food, some communication skills to customers wouldnt go a miss. Wont be eating here again

No complaints food was good arrived in a timely manner all hot with a friendly service and chilled atmosphere for a bank holiday very good highly recommend thank you we will be returning again

My husband and I came to the Hungry Horse yesterday. The food was lovely we had garlic ciabatta and fish and chips. The ciabatta was soft and very tasty, the fish was really good. The waitress and man behind the bar was very friendly and we really enjoyed ourselves. I then went to the toilet and they were really clean until I glanced in the disabled toilet and I was so surprised as the sink was really dirty with black marks on the rim and a black smear in the sink. Surely whoever cleans the toilets, and sinks outside should keep the disabled toilet clean! I couldn’t give five stars after seeing that which was a shame.

Can’t comment on the food, but it will be what it will be and there is a market for it. Good atmosphere. Busy as the industrial estate emptied. Green king pub and the Abbot is lovely. Good friendly staff
