Kings Head Dullingham in East Cambridgeshire

Decided to visit for Sunday lunch following a friends recommendation we weren't disappointed. The bread basket that arrived first was so delicous. The roast beef was fabulous. Nice and pink and plenty of it. Our son had the pork and he said it was lovely and jucy. Proper home made huge yorksires and a good veg selection. My son was very happy that the gravy came in a jug as he isn't a huge gravy fan. He really liked the mushroom puree. Deserts were really lovely and presentation was excellent. Absolutely no complaints and we will definitely be back. Not the cheapest lunch but worth every penny.

On the way to Newmarket you will find this on the hill. Vey high standards and good staff. Great food and drinks menu too.

From the heart these guys are truly mega for keeping the huge team @nannylouenna HQ, fed FOC with their delicious food whilst the team are working day and night to get their Ukrainian Donations sorted and shipped.

Food is good and so is the service , the reason of not giving 5 stars is because the deco is very plain and doesn’t have that traditional pub feel . But will definitely be back

Had an absolute beautiful meal for my friends 30th birthday this weekend. They catered to all of our needs including a friend who was vegetarian. With a very large group of people they were well prepared and the food was absolutely amazing and presented so well. Thankyou again for making the evening so perfect with you're polite friendly service.

The Kings Head always has fantastic food and impeccable service. We are a big and difficult group to serve and their patience is incredible, they always make us feel so welcome! This really is one of the best pubs in the area.

We have been to the King's Head in Dullingham twice now for a family gathering. As we have family living in both Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, we booked the King's Head in Dullingham as it's somewhere in between. We are so glad that we did as the food is superb and the special touches like fudge with the tea and coffee makes this place memorable. We came back today for a celebration and the food was once again excellent and cooked perfectly. Despite the fantastic building and sophisticated good, it's also very friendly and somewhere that you feel welcome with children. If you are looking for a cheap Sunday dinner then this isn't the right place for you but if you wasn't excellent quality food and don't mind paying for it then you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back for another family meal.

The kings Head is luckily only down the road from where we live. The Food and service is always to the very highest standards. They started to do takeaway during lockdown and kept it going afterwards, the kings head grill has been a great weekly treat for us, the food as always is great and very well priced. We would like to thank you guys for all your hard work, The Churros last night where amazing! Darrell and Rebecca.

Customer service is good Food is lovely Portion size does not warrant the prices being charged, I paid £30 for pea soup to start followed by mushroom ravioli, which was one ravioli and less than 5 mushrooms, with half an egg! I could have made this for under £5 all in, absolutely ripped off! I dont mind paying for good food, but this took the biscuit a bit, when you are a solo pub in the middle of Dullingham! I would rather pay the Bedford Lodge Prices and get a good plate full of food Sorry!

Another wonderful Sunday lunch at the Kings Head. The ‘can do’ attitude of Paul and all of the staff is always a pleasure to experience. We sat outside in glorious sunshine and enjoyed the most delicious food and wine - am never disappointed. So grateful to have this restaurant on our doorstep and their fantastic take away from their Kings Head Pizza And Grill is so convenient too. Highly recommended!

Great menu, super service and amazing food both in presentation and taste. The front of house was impressive and explained the renovation process that the restaurant had been through and how he found the amazing head chef. Can't recommend highly enough!

As ever, one of my favourite places in Newmarket. We're lucky enough to live next door and the quality of the food is unreal. The service is excellent, the knowledge of wines is brilliant and overall the best customer service in Newmarket. Highly recommend.

It was good food but very expensive. Dishes were small but gourmet. Not a pub more like a fancy restaurant.

Booked for Sunday lunch arrived as planned and greater warmly. Drinks were bought and we were shown to our table, the restaurant was pleasant and staff were extremely attentive. We ordered traditional roasts homemade bread was bought to us to nibble whilst we waited it was absolutely delicious. Our meals arrived vegetables came separately all very well prepared and presented and enjoyed by us both. Honestly the food, surroundings & service were good but we wouldn't go back as just too pricey at £50 for 2 Sunday roasts and a 2 drinks.

So lucky to have this restaurant close to home. Blown away by the dessert I’ve just had -Trio of white chocolate mousse, aerated, caramelised, pea gel and macaroon! Almost too beautifully presented to eat but so delicious, highly recommend. Paul and all his staff are always so welcoming and accommodating.

Been here a five times the past six months and the food and service all five times was excellent, I’ve never felt rushed to leave my table. Would highly recommend.

We popped into the Kings Head before heading to see Pete Tong at Newmarket nights. The food was delicious and so were the drinks! The staff were very friendly and attentive. This place is not cheap, but the food is a mouth watering.

From the outside, this is unassuming, but get inside and place your order you won’t be disappointed. Every course was cooked to perfection simply wonderful, and worth it. This is surprisingly busy place, it did get a little warm inside, but don’t let that detract from the food and service

I don't eat much red meat but occasionally it's just what I want. On Saturday night I chose a rib eye, medium cooked to perfection. It was a little bigger than what I was expecting but it was delicious along with sides of triple cooked chips and a lovely salad. Excellent meal. I've been several time before and I will go several times again! Well done to the attentive friendly staff.

Wow, I actually have so many great things to say about the kings head. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding and the little touches (fudge with latte mostly) were well thought out. I had the bass for main with grapefruit and crab and it was incredible. If you haven’t been there before then I would highly recommend you give it a try. 5*

I’ve visited this establishment a number of times and it never fails to disappoint! The staff are incredible and the food out of this world. It’s a perfect location to bring family, friends or your partner for any occasion! All the food is fresh, colourful and interesting - something different from any other place. And don’t get me started on dessert... a definite recommend!!!

Beautifully cooked Fish - Wonderful Sorbets - really impressed - lovely lighting and I like the layout - discovered a Fabulous Gin called Aviator recommended by friendly and helpful waiter

We recently came here for my Father in Law's 50th Birthday. I organised it as a surprise for him whilst I was on holiday in Australia! The staff were helpful during this stage and the pre-order menu had plenty to chose from!

A welcome smile, the staff very friendly and helpful, knowledgeable about the menu, food excellent, we didn't want our scallop starter to end, the main course arrived which was equally delicious, and the dessert was remarkable, we enjoyed it so much we visited again the next evening and was just as satisfied. Definitely visiting again soon!

Could not fault the food or service - all excellent and very good quality. We each had a super lunch and coffee and desserts on the outside terrace; these were as lovely as the lunch. My only quibble was that there was no potato substitute for my salad (with Tuna Steak) except for chips which I dislike - no new or jacket potato available and the only potatoes which were on the menu were unable to be added to mine even for a supplement. I found this very bizarre. Everything else was exceptional.

The restaurant was busy but the service was good and two of us had the most delicious filet steak, others had equally good prawns. Will definitely be going again when in the area.

Very nice pub in a nice quiet location. Just outside of Newmarket in Dullingham. The food is top notch and even Tattersalls use this company for their food on sales days. So if the top thoroughbred auction house uses them over others, that should tell you how good the food is. Not the cheapest place to eat, but if you want good food, book yourself in for a great meal.

We stumbled across this place while we were on a long journey from London. What a find! Exceptionally good food with wonderful flavours and great presentation. Brilliant wine list. Not cheap, but very good value given the quality. High chair provided for our baby and staff incredibly friendly. Faultless.

This is quite a classic and quirky British Independent gastro pub. A lot of effort and time has gone into making people feel at home by the staff, but the food is the star. The prices for food are on the high side - admittedly I didn't check before we booked - but the menu is really well judged, tasty, and cooked with great care and attention to detail. The wine list is also well curated (we had some very nice rioja). We were there on a Wednesday night and the staff were excellent, and super- accommodating to my requests - no fuss.

Came here for a midweek meal a few weeks ago. We both had steak, it was absolutely delicious.

Had a meal here after the guineas. Wonderful setting, fantastically friendly and attentive staff and fabulous steak cooked to perfection. Slightly pricey which is why I’m only giving 4/5 but well worth a visit if you’re in The area.

We ate here last night and it was without a doubt one of the very best meals I’ve ever had. There wasn’t a single thing out of 3 courses that I would’ve changed. The chef is phenomenal, the manager absolutely fantastic and the atmosphere perfect, we really look forward to visiting again soon.

Popped in for a beer after a brisk walk on the July course and was confounded by the lack of beer - very, very disappointing. There are 233 pubs in Britain with the name Kings Head and this must be the only one that doesn't sell cask ale. The only things on tap are cold lagers and the only beer is sold in bottles from a fridge.

We visited last night , we had a table of four booked , the service was outstanding, friendly staff who were ever so helpful . We all had three courses and the food was out of this world We could not fault any part of meal, it was all round a great experience and I would highly recommend to anyone, we look forward to returning in the very near future !

The last time I reviewed the Kings Head I gave it 5 stars. I booked for the xmas lunch menu as it looked so good. The scallop starter was fantastic. The turley main was very tasty bit some of the turkey was inedible. I called the waitress and showed her the problem . She came back and said it would be replaced in 5 minutes. She came back with a side plate of stuffing? I told her that I didn't complain about the stuffing but she left it with me and that was the last I heard on the matter. No one came to see if our meals were OK. The dessert was lovely with so many tasty elements to it. We ask for the bill. The waitress threw it on our table as she walked by with food for another table scattering our empty glasses that we had to rescue from falling over. The bill was for £132 including coffee. We had not had coffee and the bill should have been £90. We sent it back. It then came for £ 97 including coffee which we had not had. It took 3 attempts to get the bill right and no apology. We halved the tip.

Very good two course lunch. Set menu had variety and excellent presentation. I had crispy beef starter followed by chicken breast. If there was any criticism it would be that the chicken could have done with a more sauce in addition to the other excellent ingredients. Mine was a touch on the dry side.

The King's Head is one of three pubs in the Dullingham area. During a recent visit to the area we opted to have dinner at The King's Head one evening. It turned out to be a memorable evening. The pub turned out to be more of an elegant restaurant than a traditional pub. The server was welcoming and friendly when we arrived at about 8pm without a reservation and she seated us at a table of our choice .Only one other table was occupied. We saw items we liked on the fixed price menu and we were told that if between the two of us we ordered a starter, a main course and the dessert we would be charged for one fixed price menu. This was an absolute bargain My husband enjoyed the Crispy Chilli Beef starter and I had a most delicious risotto. We shared a scrumptious baked dessert. Regrettably our stay in the area was too short to have another meal there, to perhaps experience a busier evening.

A busy Friday night at The Kings Head! All staff were friendly and helpful. Two of us had duck breast, one lemon sole and the other a fillet steak. All were pleased with their food. The sweet of poached pear and additions was to die for. Maybe slightly expensive, but worth it for a good meal.

I personally opted for the set menu. However the family went al le carte. Food was average, both my courses were very salty. Dessert was raspberry tart meringue with a very unusual texture. I won't rush back, I thought it was very overpriced I can go to a posh Cambridge restaurant for less money!

We had not been here for many years, but as we were meeting family who live in Newmarket, we thought we'd give it a try.

I reviewed the Kings Head 3 years ago when we first moved to Dullingham. Then I noted how amazed we were to have found such a high quality restaurant on our doorstep. Three years and several visits later the Kings Head still delivers on all fronts. We last visited with some Swiss friends on 5th August, the service was first class and all dishes well deserve my 5 star rating. Our friends were bowled over by the meal and genuininly surprised at the value of such fine dining in a quiet Cambridgeshire village. Our only problem is we now compare all other restaurants we visit to the Kings Head, and very few equal this great place and even fewer exceed (Michelin star establishments included). Almost forgot to mention, but the wine list is also superb.

We meet with our friends at the Kings Head Dullingham today, they travelled from London. On arrival, you are given a choice as where you would like to sit, either at your booked table, or in the comfortable lounge with leather sofas, we were given first class attention, the meal was superb, you are given as much time as you require to choose, and the polite staff are on hand if you need to ask about the menu. If, for any reason they are not sure they will ask for you, all of this is very much appreciated. The surroundings are excellent and comfortable. Went here for lunch and we both chose the same menu.Scallops and Brill starter at £17 was delicious lots of flavour. New season lamb cooked 3 ways at £25 so imaginative and well presented. Poached peach dessert at £7 was served with lots of tasty elements to it. A bottle of Pino Grigio was £20.We went for Saturday lunch and there was plenty of room in the car park as there were only 4 people eating. The service was extremely good . Will be back!
