We thought we were booked into Queens Head and when we all arrived, they said they had booked a table for four, there were 15 of us!! Long story short, my niece rang the Kings Head and if we could get there soon they would accommodate us. We all had different meals, other than two had fish and chips, absolutely everything was lovely. Best steak and ale homemade pie I have ever had!! Lovely tender meat, no fatty sinewy bits at all. Everyone, including the four children enjoyed their meal. Kids had homemade milkshakes with fresh ingredients which were yummy and the lady who made them came out to speak to the children. Everyone there was charming and very patient with people changing their minds when they spotted something different on menu! Big thank you to all staff, particularly kitchen staff who must have been kept later than their time accommodating us. All meals very good value for money with good sized portions. Very very glad Queens Head couldn't accommodate all of us, there is no way they could have improved on what we had to eat here. Thank you all

Walked to this Pub when staying at Breydon Water Holiday Park, Well worth the Walk as the place is Fantastic, Great Service and Top Class Food. A Great varied menu with a Specials board... Don't go for the Mega mixed Grill if you have eaten at all tho.. as it is Massive and Great Value for money. Best Mixed Grill i have ever had.

Me, hubby and our two small children visited here on our first night's stay at Rose Farm, a 5 minutes walk away. Hubby had steak and I had a chicken tikka curry. My 5 yr old had the spaghetti bolognaise. We all enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere so returned on a further two nights over our week's stay. I tried the fish and chips and the fish was absolutely gorgeous! The batter was delicious! I had lamb shank anther night and really enjoyed this too! Hubby had mixed grill and then anther steak on his last night as he enjoyed it so much the first time! The bar staff are welcoming and friendly, the pub is child friendly which means lots when you have an energetic toddler I would definitely return and recommend to people

I went hear last week with my wife and 3yr old son. Its a basic pub and the food was very nice and a decent portion. I cannot complain at all about the food as we all enjoyed it. It was pretty quiet and I think we were the only ones eating. There were a few locals at the bar having a drink when we arrived and it was a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately then someone who I could not see as I was sat around the corner came in. He spoke very loud and it seemed like every other word that came out of his mouth started with F. I cant really criticise the staff too much as I did hear them telling him 2 or 3 times to watch his language as there was a small child in but unfortunately it didn't make any difference to him and he carried on. That is not a critasism of the place or the staff I think I was just unlucky to be in at the same time as that one guy. Burgers were excellent though.

Enjoyed a tasty meal with family in a lovely traditional pub atmosphere. Decor is classy but traditional with a varied menu of home cooked pub meals. They also cater well for dairy free food. It was great to see a couple of ales from small local breweries on tap. Good peaceful atmosphere but can get loud and busy at weekends with local drinkers. They have a brilliant function room too which I attended a party in a couple of months ago. Loads of space for dancing and room for round dinning tables. A great party venue.

Use the Kings Head on a semi regular basis for drinks and meals with friends.Never disappointed with the service or food ( especially when Andrew is on the pass)There has been a fair amount of work put into brightening up the decor here along with changes to make your visit more comfortable . Good to see the effort made to get folk in the door.Would certainly recommend this local for food drinks and the service.Have a day off and have a brisk walk to your local you won't be disappointed.

As this is now our local we went for a visit. Really nice pub with great atmosphere. Friendly fireplace much appreciated on a cold night. Good range of beers. Good range of pub grub and very tasty. Good size portions too. Everything you want from a local pub. We had been visiting further afield but this is a gem on our doorstep.

This is a typical country spit and sawdust pub. Staff terrible and they do nothing to enhance the place being one of two pubs only in Belton. Did consider going for Sunday lunch but no way!

Very friendly staff who know how to pour a decent Guinness. The menu is pretty good, but is substantially complemented by the extensive Specials board. As clearly advertised, there is a bit of a wait although this was only 30 minutes on a busy Friday night. However, when the food is clearly cooked to order with real care, this really isn't a problem. Portions were very generous and reasonably priced (£8 - £10 for most mains; steaks up to about £15). Highly recommended.

It came with a side salad that was a bit tired and was probably yesterday's. Bar staff were friendly and chatty. Good range of beers and ciders served well.

We regularly visit Belton as we stay on the Wild Duck Holiday site, the Kings Head is a few minutes drive away or a 10 minute walk if no-one wants to volunteer to drive. Once again the Kings Head did not disappoint and we had excellent meals there on our recent visit. The quality of the food is exceptional and generous portions too, also for the kiddies, everything was extremely well cooked. The specials board is also a 'big hit', I thoroughly enjoyed one of the pies which came with 5 vegetables and potatoes, it was amazing!!!. Also there is a large TV maybe more (I was fixated on just the one, so didn't notice any other). The service was quick and the staff very friendly. Well worth a visit!Sharon

A very warm welcome, and seated to our reserved table. Fantastic carvery with all freshly cooked vegetables, with a great selection of meats. A great local pub with the attributes of the smell of the wood burner a blaze, and the footy being enjoyed from the well known terrestrial providers. Be sure to support this village pub, even for that local gossip catch up with friends or a quick game or two of pool.

My neice got married and had booked The Kings Head for her reception. What a great choice. Welcomed by staff on arriving, shown it function room which was spacious and had its own bar. When the food arrived it was all well cooked and plentiful. The manager Andrew does a fair bit of the cooking and was always on hand to assist in anything we required, nothing was to much trouble. Looking on the menu board in the bar there was a great choice at good prices. Will definitely be going there for evening meal or Sunday roast lunch. Highly recommend this place.

As New Year resolutions fizzle away , I do recall that in 2015 my plan was to support the local Pub more.Sunday Cavery ?.. We have a good choice around the area and thought a stroll to the local would be worth a shot. Not disappointed excellent food and value for money ...Will certainly make this a weekly visit for food and the occasional beer. One thing I would say is sort out a smoking area away from the enterance , having to dodge the smokers on the way in or out is not good and getting the waft of smoke as someone enters the pub also is not good. Your not the only place with this problem ...All in all Andy and his team are doing a great job. Give them some support and pop in for a look.

After unsuccessfully trying to get a table at the local Toby we decided to stop at The Kings Head on our way back to our campsite. After reading a couple of the previous reviews I was a little sceptical as we walked in. My mistake. Yes the pub is slightly dated and yes it is a local village pub with locals drinking in it but that's what you expect in a village pub. Between us we ordered 2 sirloin steaks, a Thai green curry and lamp shank all if which where very good indeed. The portions where generous and the food was cooked perfectly. The lady that took our order was very pleasant and the chap that cooked the food and served us at the table was very polite. After we had finished eating the gentleman who I assume is the owner came out and asked if everything was okay, which I always appreciate. The young lady then tempted my mum and partner into dessert. Blimey! What a size the desserts where. Not only where the portions good but they tasted lovely. For myself, my partner and my parents we had a very pleasant meal which was good value for money. I'm glad now that the Toby Inn was full. If only people would use Trip Advisor to comment on the good not just the bad I wouldn't have walked into the pub so nervous. All in all a good meal at a good price and definitely worth five minutes of my time to let anyone that's interested know.

we were staying at the wild duck and decided to eat out every day, we were served by Andy who was pleasant, I am a vegetarian so had the broccoli and cheese bake it was o.k my husband and granddaughter both enjoyed their meals, 2 minor irritations were that because we were not local as we were eating no one bothered to ask if the meals were o.k, I was asked when I went to pay if the food was alright, as I went to pay a customer was paying for their drinks as I was at the counter, the barmaid ignored me and served 2 regulars who were after me which I thought was rude, but like most places it served its purpose which was to fill our tums

This pub is in a village. No problem there. We often go to village pubs. But we do not expect to be treated like total outsiders as we were here. We have been in for a meal twice this holiday and the food is amazing home cooked food the chips are unbelievably delicious. The omelettes are big and amazing. Our boy is fussy on his food but he cleans his plate every time we go. Highly recommend if on holiday near here, So we went again last night for last meal of season and oh boy did it not fail, it was the best pie I’ve ever had in a pub and the chips were fantastic as always, staff really friendly, and service is excellent, shame it would be 6 hour round trip to come back in winter.

This was genuinely the worst 2 bits of fish I have ever had served to me. Myself and my wife had a portion each and they were most grey un-fresh looking pieces of fish I have ever seen. £9:40 with chips is a good price in this day and age but jeez it was awful. As a consolation the chips were probably an 8/10. personally I'd give it a miss.

Bit of a last minute decision, but fancied a Sunday roast and the PotP usually delivers. As hoped for it was excellent. Almost too good as I had no room left for the apple pie and custard ☹️, maybe next time.
