Generous portions, great value, fantastic value for seniors. No frills, just wholesome better than "as advertised" food!

We have been having takeaways from here for a couple of years now so I felt it time to leave a review. The food is consistently excellent. Fish cooked to order with delicious crispy batter and great portions of perfectly cooked chips. They also do a mushy pea fritter, indulgent but delicious. The staff are wonderful too. Always friendly and welcoming. Best fish and chips in St Leonards!

Really great food generous portions friendly owner and staff, always a welcoming smile ive used this shop on hundreds of occasions and would recommend them anytime never had a problem with them.

Cheery service, always good food and value for money. You can eat in but my choice Rock and Chips was a take-out. The fish portion was a little small said the frying man and so he refunded £2 before I even saw the portion. I always this chippie when in town.

Best fish an chips for a long time very tasty not smoothed in oil like a lot of shops in area . Would highly recommend .

Without doubt the worst fish and chips I’ve eaten. Batter soggy, no taste and the chips looked and tasted awful. Even the seagulls turned it down! Thankful that I don’t live here and I’ll never have to eat here again. Avoid

Eaten food from here for sometime, never an issue. My partner and I had fish and chips Saturday night and it was awful, made us both ill. My partner went and spoke to the owner who basically said we were lying, no apology or anything. Will never eat food from there again. Fish tasted odd and chips were terrible!!! Best to avoid!!!!

It would have been 5🌟 but a couple of things let it down entered the restaurant ordered Haddock and chips with a curry sauce the lady who took my order said take a seat as I'm sat down the proprietor is chatting away to a man at the counter then two ladies walked in and still the proprietor is chatting away when there is customers sat waiting for there orders another thing what really irritates me is my order nearly came to £13 and the two ladies had two OAP meals at £6.50 each Cod and chips pot of tea so they had two meals for the same price as my one 🤔 a bit unfair why do people think pensioners haven't got any money?? The food was cooked fresh and nice but not a perfect experience I would go back tho.

We arrived at this restaurant & take away late afternoon for something tasty to eat as my husband has been a regular visitor for several years now whenever he visits locally, the man that served us was very polite & friendly but sadly it was probably the worst time to of arrived, as the chips that we were served were almost stone cold when we opened them up outside, you do seem to get a generous portion for your money but I can't eat cold food & only ate one chip & the rest went in the bin, my husband on the other hand did manage to eat almost half of his and did enjoy his battered sausage.

We had quite a walk to get here and was thinking we just hope it's worth it. It was. From the moment you walk in you could tell this is a place people come back to. The service was warm and friendly. The atmosphere was so relaxed, clean and inviting. The food was cooked on order so everything including the chips turned up fresh. Both the Cod and Rock melt in your mouth and the batter was cooked perfectly. Whilst eating in we saw so many regulars coming in including a lady who had a guest from York who loves fish and chips and this was the perfect shop to treat them to their evening supper. Would definitely go back and I highly recommend you give it a try.

Lovely friendly staff and good quality fish and chips here and would definitely be back here and would recommend it to anyone. Surprised that they don’t have more TripAdvisor reviews though as they’ve been opened for many years. The Garlic vinegar is very nice. Enjoy.

This is a clean well run Chippie. The quality of the food is very high with a good range of locally caught fish. For me the Haddock was very well cooked, tasty and most of all hot! It is tucked away but well worth a visit either to take away or sit in. Very good for families and small groups.
