Good lunch spot in Cambridge city centre, the food is freshly made to order and tastes really good. The udon is made daily and you can really taste the difference. Would recommend.

Such a shame, we really thought this was going to be a great experience. Quite pricey for what you actually get. The food was not hot and was not fresh. It seems like it was just reheated from previous day. The chicken was not cooked through and the hot plate of extras was dried out. Vegetable tempura’s were shocking and not fresh. Fish cakes fired out. Staff didn’t seem to care about the service to which I will add was very slow. I would say that the food itself lacked any flavours compared to what was described on the menu. There are better and cheaper close by that offer better customer service and taste experience. Rice was cheap and not cooked well, the broth was flavoured water in my opinion. Such a shame as they could really have a great experience if they stepped up their standards.

My six year son and I went for lunch here on a Sunday. It was quite busy when we arrived and got crowded while we were there. We ordered a plain soup udon and a tonkatsu udon. The plain soup was okay (exact words of the 6 yr old). The Tonkatsu was tasty and spicy - though a little light on meat. We also had some chicken dumplings and a panko chicken breast. These were great - nice and crispy. A little bit greasy but not too much. It was very busy when we left. They found it difficult to keep cutlery and napkins well stocked. It was 26/05.

5/5 food is amazing, such a huge menu, need to go back several times to try all the options. Amazing concept. Order on screen, pick up any extras you want, pay at till, food comes quickly. Return your trays when you leave. Love it

Visited last night before we bought my daughter back home. She's been before and recommended it. We ordered 2 x Panko Fried Chicken Yaki Udon, which we shared between 3 of us. There was more than enough. Great flavours.

Used to be great when it first opened, but has been going downhill since - mostly due to the service. Have had multiple times already with mistakes in our order - wrong or missing items that were paid for, etc. Giving 2 stars instead of one because still do enjoy the food but service needs to improve. We usually take away so only realize when we get home - the restaurant also needs better ventilation so you don't come out with clothes smelling of oil, so we avoid eating in nowadays.

Worst meal I have ever had! Vegetable tempura was served as mass of cold congealed oily batter. I have felt nauseous since my visit earlier.

We went on bank holiday Monday. There is not enough seating in the restaurant. We had to hover around until people left. My meal was salty.

Resturant was very clean, the tables were cleand promptly when vacated. Plenty of room. Well presented food, fast service and very tasty and good portions. Impressed that the food was piping hot. Prices are reasonable, especially as this is located in the centre of Cambridge. Best Japanese meal I have had in decades.

This is sort of a fast food restaurant in that you go in and get to order off a touch screen. They then cook the food that you have ordered while you are moving along the counter queue and can pick up extra side dishes. We were in Cambridge city centre on New Year's Day so were lucky to find it open as not everywhere was. It was a great find! We had the Laksa Prawn Udon which is udon noodles in a rich & spicy broth with prawns, fish cake, egg, bean sprouts, fried tofu and pak choi topped with chilli miso & coriander. Also the Tonkotsu Pork Udon which is udon noodles in Tonkotsu broth with homemade Chashu and miso chilli topped with bean sprouts, egg and spring onions. We also had side dishes of Chikuwa Tempura (fried crunchy fish cake with seaweed), Prawn Tempura and Pumpkin Katsu (crispy Japanese pumpkin croquette). The food was really delicious and this is definitely a place to return to. My only reservation was that some of the food wasn't as hot as I would have liked and I would have liked a microwave available to heat it up. It all came to £27.50 with drinks and we thought that was good value for the quality of the food.

Quick and easy, much improved by addition of some chilli for my taste. I had a crispy chicken and noodles. Well worth a try.

Have now eat in both locations and both times I have been unable to finish my Panko chicken yaki Udon due to the sheer quantity of it. It is however let down by the drinks selection… a warm can of Sprite did not go down too well in St Pancras yesterday. Don’t know why they are not licensed but looked in enviously at those next door in Yo sushi enjoying cold Sapporo’s. But there again I left there full to bursting and only spent £10….. not something ever said about a Yo.

I've eaten here several times and the dishes seem to have been revised recently - and not for the better - and are inconsistent from visit to visit. The battered chicken has been replaced by a panko version that is thin and dry, in contrast to the battered. The sweet chilli chicken I had recently used this and was much poorer - the sauce actually tasted more like sweet & sour on that occasion. And the salad it had before was missing. Most recently, I had the prawn laksa which was disappointing - only three prawns this time (!) and the rest had been replaced with tofu and half a boiled egg, which I see from the picture on the menu appears to now be standard, and the sauce / soup was thin and insipid, in contrast to when I had some time ago. Disappointing, esp as this is an expensive dish. The dipping sauce and chilli oil provided are great but the spring onions have now gone from the condiments, which is a shame. The service does seem unnecessarily slow to the queue moves very slowly, and becomes long at peak times, resulting in a significant wait. Overall, lots of potential but plenty of room for improving the service and recent (cost-cutting?) recipe changes are definitely not for the better.

Came for lunch on Sunday and as it only just open it was easy to order on the screen and the prices were OK, the staff were about grumpy and didn't pay much attention to us. The food was ok but the the crispy chicken was really good, overall not bad , would come again.

Great service. They changed their sweet chilli chicken and rice to panko crumb recently. But if you ask nicely, they will give you the battered version.

Was really excited to try this new place but was underwhelmed. Staff had all had frowns and were clearly overwhelmed and the food wasn’t anything particularly special or worth queueing for. Reminded me of another Wagamama but with less options. Wouldn’t go back.

ramen is much worse than instant noodles. I ordered Donkotsu ramen (which means pork bone soup ramen). I could not feel any pork scent from soup and the noodle was horrible. I'm pretty sure this restaurant does not run by Japanese chef.

We came for the Thursday bottomless brunch but had to leave after 20 mins. Absolutely no food options on the belt apart from edamame beans and pancakes. We complained and said this is a shambles for £29.95pp and so we left but were made to pay for the rubbish plates we picked off the belt and were charged £20 for food that we didn't even want. DO NOT DO THE BOTTOMLESS SUSHI! There are far far better places in Cambridge for sushi and I think it is now time for this place to leave Cambridge for good.
