Sticks'N'Sushi in Cambridge

Really disappointing experience as I have been to many of their London restaurants which were far superior. It took 20 minutes to receive our drinks. Unfortunately I spilled my £13 cocktail as it arrived at the table. I wasn’t offered a replacement or asked if I would like another drink and the floor was left soaking wet the whole time we were there. I eventually managed to flag someone down to get another drink which took 20 minutes to arrive again by which point we had finished our food and were ready to go. The ginger maitre/host was so condescending and rude. The toilets were so messy, smelly and soaking wet. Will not be back EVER.

We've visited the covent garden restaurant a few times and never been dissapointed. Cambridge is just as great. We ordered the Carp Diem set menu which was just so tasty and perfect. Very friendly waitress who kindly brought us a mini pudding and candle as it was my birthday

We always sit at the bar here, keeping things chilled. The food this time, was probably the best it’s ever been. And the new mixologist is very, very good. They’ve kept prices the same for years, which means it’s not too expensive. Highly recommended. Tip: get the grilled version of the edamame and you’ll order it every time you go. Phenomenal

This place is just special. It feels classy from the moment you walk in. I don’t think I’ve felt like that in a Cambridge restaurant for a while We were shown to our table and offered water straight away. We’d had sushi before but not really been to a restaurant serving it like this so felt a bit out of our depth. The waitress was great and explained each sharing option for us. We had a mixture of duck, tuna, salmon with some pork belly, salmon and chicken on sticks. Every single thing was fantastic. Even the beans sucked through a salty skin. Being honest, we were there for lunch and couldn’t finish everything we’d ordered. It was far more filling than expected, but it was boxed up and taste equally good from the fridge the next day. I’ll defo be going back to this place

We had a really tasty meal and nice service. Especially the beef we had as a starter was awesome and I would recommend trying it. Only 4 stars as it was really expensive and the fried shrimps in the sushi rolls were cold.

We went as we had heard good things about sticks and Sushi, unfortunately in reality it was average at best. We arrived at 12, we must have been the 1st or 2nd table to order, it took 40 minutes for a sashimi platter to come out. Instead of ordering more after we finished (which was the plan) but we ended up getting the bill and going elsewhere. It then took 20 minutes to get and pay the bill. Unfortunately it was not worth the money.

Exquisite sushi but pretty steep prices mean this place can only be a rare and special treat. For the price you get beautifully prepared, sophisticated, delicious sushi in all kinds of arrangements, flavours and textures. Having no experience of sushi in Japan I can’t say if it’s authentic. But I can say that it’s the best sushi I’ve ever had.

There was a great selection of sushi on the menu. I particularly liked how the menu had images of each dish so you could see what exactly you were ordering. The dishes were fairly expensive for the amount of food you got. We decided to share each of our dishes so it worked out better in price.

Disappointing evening. The muszac seemed to be on a very tight loop and was very irritating. The service was slow and not in any way friendly or enthusiastic. Our beers were simply dumped in the glasses so they was an inch of beer and 4 inches of head, and it would have been better to let the customer pour them if you don't know how to. The hand towels were disconcertingly cold and felt old and overused, which can't have been the intention. , I immediately wished i hadn't touched it, and the rest of the party felt the same. The sushi didn't seem as good as last time, and we left quite a bit of it. The meat eater with us felt the sticks over priced and oversalted and left hungry, and we left for ice cream at Gelato Jack's which was a great as ever

My Hubby and I are visiting this restaurant few times a year and also at different locations. This was always standing out place even though a bit overpriced. Last night unfortunately food (I wouldn’t say disappointing) wasn’t as great as it used to be. All started from the cleaning towels. Usually they were warm but now handed cold and mine left a damp smell on my hands. Then I used my husbands towel which worked as it should. Food was nice but not outstanding as previously on our visits. It was ok. During the service we asked for wasabi which our waitress confirmed she will bring but she never did. I think another person noticed our “waiting” faces and asked us if there was anything we needed. Little things but make customer’s stay unique. Another thing about “optional 12.5% service charge”. If it’s optional, why it’s being added without customer’s consent? Would be much better is serving staff would ask if customer would like to add it. Think of a young person who brings a date to impress her/him. Has just enough money for the food and potential drinks and then this being added to the bill. It’s embarrassing to ask the waiting staff for removing it or even questioning. The information clearly states it’s optional but we felt forced. So in overall, sadly our last night experience wasn’t as great as previously. Need improvement for sure.
