Sticks'N'Sushi in Cambridge

Best sushi and service I have experienced in the UK. Special thanks to the kitchen staff who took my request and prepared a special "congratulations" dessert. Will be taking my family here next month when they visit.

Had a wonderful experience! Uramaki was delightful, I ordered the spicy tuna and alaskan and enjoyed it very much.

A wonderful and welcoming place to dine for that special occasion. High class peaceful environment, attentive service meeting the needs of adults and families alike, with a huge selection of the most exquisite dishes. Why not make every day special with a visit to Stick'n'Sushi?

Get in early, the small kitchen means a long wait when it's busy. Food is worth that wait, it is excellent.., if you have time. Service, was disappointing - our server changed a few times, had to be reminded of our requests on a few occasions, and twice, after long waits when asked about our next course - they then suddenly appeared (good job it's cold food). It may just have been a bad night. It's not cheap, but the location and food quality are great

Went for my husband’s birthday meal and everything was delicious! The sashimi was my favourite in the platter. The desert and tartare dishes were amazing too.

From the tables to the hand towels, everything was super. The most beautiful menu I've ever seen. The food was on another level to your typical sushi restaurant. The prices match the quality. Great staff and atmosphere. An amazing evening out and I'd definitely return - there's so much more on the menu to explore.

Is it worth going to this resturant? Yes absolutely, here is some more detail before you decide to come here Service: Overall great. From the moment I step into the resturant there is someone to greet me and seat me at a table. Even at their busiest of times, which is usually on the weekends lunch and dinner (especially Saturday) they still give you a warm towel smelling of lemon to disinfect your hands. Every server has their own style of communication but still manages to cater to everyone’s preferences. The servers are very memorable and welcoming. I even became familiar enough with some of them that now they recognize me when I come in. I also notice before each rush of customers they do a little chant where they say: 1,2,3 and then the name of a server who may be new or is doing particularly well. Also, if you are newer to the resturant they explain what is in the dish as they serve it to you, this makes me feel especially fancy and special :D. I have been going here for a few years and have seen the resturant change and evolve beautifully. In the beginning I remember the menu didn’t have a lot of pictures and the descriptions were somewhat vague, so I often found myself googling some of the ingredients and meals, but over time the menu has become easy to read and understand with at least one picture and description of every meal offered and they have expanded their desserts and drink menu as well. I love their newest concepts with the menu and dishes, where each dish has a little drawing/picture of it and in the beginning of the menu with dishes they have some information about the resturant which really alleviates the resturant. They have kept some of the bestsellers and have added new fresh ideas which I am sure will be well received. Also the lavatory is quite clean and fancy. Food: Always great. I remember the first time I came here with a friend who recommended it to me. The resturant seemed kind of hidden and I was somewhat skeptical, I didn’t expect much. Then as they served me my first hotate katifi it was as if the light was placed strategically just to illuminate the meal and make it seem golden. When I tried it I had to close my eyes, because of how good and intriguing the flavor was. This was one of the best dishes I had tried in a while. Then I went onto the sushi, and it was even better. As I sat there with my friend each piece that we took we would savor and comment on. It became a routine where each week we would come and try different dishes. Most recently after the new concept was introduced, I ordered the hotate katafi, hell’s kitchen and the New York subway (which is what I usually order). They still retained their great flavor and were just filling. The drinks have gotten better, and I suspect they use higher quality ingredients now to make them. What I would recommend, especially from the menu, would be anything raw such as tataki, sashimi or sushi. Even their cold salads (which I am very much against most of the time) are quite good and in big portions enough to feed you for one meal. The only thing I dislike is the meat on sticks here has too soft of a texture and was too much even for me. I tried different types throughout the years, but I was never impressed. However, even when my favorite dish isnt on the menu anymore I keep coming back, because of the quality consistency. No matter If I come in the rush hour or early in the morning just as they are opening, they always have everything up to par. I have never had a bad experience with the food here and the servers have always been welcoming. Overall, this resturant is my favorite in Cambridge. I can dress casually or smart and still blend with the “vibe” of the resturant. The food is always reliable in both flavor and quality, and it always makes me happy and fulfilled. Each time I exit, I think of how relaxed I am when I can come back. If you have the budget to come here even if you come alone, you won’t regret it!

Dear God, did this make my soul happy!!! I've passed this place so many times, and timing was on my side on a Saturday lunch time, that I finally went in. Everyone is greeted on entry, On looking at the menu, I could see there were some pricey plates. At the same time, seeing the ingredients, even the drinks. I thought, I'm don't do this every day, what the hell. I had my girlfriend with me, I'll make it a treat for the both of us. I don't regret it ONE BIT! We went for the sticks that included the wagyu, some sushi and sashimi. Just yes, time slowed down, and just felt uplifted. So much so we reordered the same plates. Rosy was our main waitress and she was fantastic, the guys on the bar were always on point. Just yes. We almost got to a £200 (no alcohol) bill, and to be honest, that's what stopped more ordering. It will definitely be a special occasion venue, and the quality is unquestionable from food to service to atmosphere!!! Thank you 😀

We went to lunch for my birthday and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Everything was so tasty from start to finish with such a variety of things to choose from. The service was attentive and friendly and we felt very well looked after by the lovely servers the whole time. Also plus points for how beautiful the interior is especially the bathrooms!

Me and my partner used to love this place and come here every time we were coming to Cambridge Unfortunately, the quality of the food got much worse, while the prices actually went up. Still decent, but definitely not worth it to visit again.

The service was attentive and knowledgeable, with staff happy to recommend dishes based on my preferences. While prices are on the higher side, the quality and presentation of the dishes justify the cost. Sticks 'n' Sushi is a fantastic choice for a special occasion or a night out with friends. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Cambridge.

The most delicious scallops, whether it is an appetizer or a main dish. Burnt bacon wrapped in goat's milk... hard to accept!

The Wagyu is absolutely insane. Got the house rolls and they were very solid, for a starter the wagyu tartare is extremely good and explodes with a lovely flavor The wagyu sticks will send you down a rabbit hole.

Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was so sweet and friendly. It was a perfect meal.

Superior service and quality food. I eat at some very nice and at times expensive restaurants. This place hands down is my favorite I’ve been too. Well balanced and super fresh. Highly recommend.

Since moving to Cambridge this has quickly become our favourite spot! We love sushi and the sushi never disappoints ! The service is always welcoming and knowledgable, we were served Nyah who was amazing, so friendly and knowledgeable! As always they knocked if out of the park, we can’t wait to come back!

We visited Sticks'n'Sushi Cambridge yesterday (19th August) for my birthday. We had one of the set menus with loads of different sushi, etc. Food was fantastic & our waitress Rosy was lovely! 😊 we will definitely come back again!

Sticks'n'Sushi - Cambridge 2 Wheeler St, Cambridge CB2 3QJ The sushi restaurant is very popular and we wait for several minutes to have a seat near the bar. The vibe is great with great lighting and the popular music. The salad with vegetables and crispy lotus root tastes good. In addition, the raw fish is fresh with brilliant sauce! I also like their chicken wings with smoky taste! The price is reasonable with £30 per person. Good for business dinner or friends reunion!

Had the most loveliest time here today. The food was delicious. Susan our waitress went above and beyond for us today. Overall was a 10/10 experience

Went for a girly date night with my bestie. Service was absolutely fantastic! Everyone is so friendly. We sat at the bar and Joe was so welcoming and made us feel comfortable as soon as we sat down. Our food was absolutely stunning! It was my best friend’s first time trying raw fish sushi (not generic shop bought stuff) she was blown away! The way each part of our sharing order was explained by our server was perfect and made us both feel comfortable trying new things. The venue itself is stunning. The toilets are particularly fab if you like a good toilet selfie as a girl group hahah. Would 100% return and recommend to everyone I know! A sharing platter of starters and mains (that we had to take away coz we couldn’t finish) and a bottle of wine at £126 is incredible for the quality, atmosphere and service we had.

Amazing food and amazing service! My partner and I enjoyed sharing the mixed emotions board which came out in stages and extremely tasty. The service from our waitress was amazing. Consistently topping up our water and checking in with us. The flannels for our hands was a nice touch too. Will definitely be returning!

Lovely friendly staff, nice relaxed atmosphere, nice and clean, and the tastiest sushi I've ever had. Really nice selection on the menu, beautifully presented dishes with lots of colours and flavours, super fresh ingredients, and the staff really work hard to make sure it is an experience, and not just a meal. About a 2 minute walk from The Grande Arcade car park which is very handy. The drinks are really good too. 10/10

Don't be thrown by the reviews... every business has an off day or two. Stopped by here for an early dinner, and we were blown away by the quality and presentation. Some context first, my wife and I are picky AF. Sushi is one of our favorite cuisines, and we were slightly wary of ordering sushi in Cambridge... I'm so glad we stopped in because it was one of the best meals that we have tried, and the fish was fantastic. Sometimes, it is the little things that make the biggest difference. From the hot towel at the start of the meal to the beautiful menu and the unique menu options... everything was on point. So much so that we went back for lunch the next day and had another great meal. The broccoli was so great, I ordered it both times. The miso whisky sour sounds strange, but it was a great, well-balanced coctail. I would definitely recommend this place.

Absolutely stunning food, but mostly came here to big up the wonderful server we had, Chamely, who made the experience so great. She was happy, helpful, funny and made us feel really looked after. Thanks for making our 1st wedding anniversary special!

My favourite restaurant in Cambridge (and in my experience, the best).

Probably the worst experience I have had coming to Cambridge. Food was decent but overpriced however the atmosphere was pleasant. Automatically added an "optional discretionary charge" and was made to feel bad when I wanted it removed. Do you not pay your employees enough that you have to upcharge people and then make them feel like the bad guy when they want it taken off? You could really see the tone of the server change when I asked them to remove the charge, will never be back - won't be surprised if this place goes out of business with the lack of service and "optional charge" shenanigans. Never again 0* Edit in response: Your reasoning for the discretionary service charge is for your employees to feel validated that they are doing a good job? You know that's what bonuses and promotions are for by you and not a monetary sum to be paid by the customers. If they feel the need to they can tip but automatically adding an optional charge on the bill invalidates it from being optional. It seems you only add this optional service charge to get around the fact that if it was mandatory you would have to pay National Insurance on it. I still stand by my review in full.

Особенно дочке понравился набор с детского меню. В нем были два шашлычка с куриными болами в соусе терияки с рисом, овощи с ореховым соусом, две суши с креветкой и маки роллы с огурцом и бобы адамами и на десерт шоколад в виде рыбки. Все очень понравилось.

Excellent selection with some variety from a standard sushi restaurant. Especially recommend the salmon sashimi and tofu nigiri - plus the broccoli tempura special was delicious! Friendly attentive (but not too much) service and super drink selection too!

Rosy's service was the highlight of my experience here. Not only was she absolutely careful and attentive, she was hilarious and a joy to talk to. The food were delivered promptly and she always ensured that our water glasses were filled with water. Highly recommend!

Excellent food allergy management system with staff fully trained on allergens, including cross-contamination. Our waiter was very helpful. We had a stress-free (and delicious) evening.

It was a pleasant experience until we both got sick and had to leave early and I ended up in the hospital with a stomach infection most definitely not something you expect from a 100+ pounds dinner for two.

This meal was amazing! The servers were super nice and there were nice cold towels. The bento box kids meal was a great price and tasted delicious, it also came with super cute soy sauce and a little chocolate. My bowl was super tasty and filling.

We arrived early but this was dealt with efficiently and soon we were at our table. The menu has pictures and that is a great help over choosing. We had a lovely waitress Rosy who advised on our order choice inadvertently we had ordered duplicates. Rosie was welcoming and we were well looked after. It was a birthday celebration so an extra dessert was produced with a candle. The food as usual was delicious and freshly made and we much enjoyed our evening. Thank you to all who contributed to such a lovely evening.

Terrible experience here. Booked a table via OpenTable and was told on arrival that our booking didn’t entitle us to a table, and that we would only be entitled to a table if we booked via their own website. “Oh it’s listed in the terms and conditions” - I don’t care. I took the time to make a booking and was treated no better than a walk-in. If you don’t want to honour OpenTable bookings then remove yourself from the app! Absolute idiots and disgusting service. Walked out, they lost our business.

Fish isn’t fresh and sushi rice is stodgy. Nigiri 🍣 were served presently poor; dry rice, fish is mushy and turn grey..Tuna tataki isn’t great. Excellent service though.

The food was just ok, it was bit too sweet for my taste, almost everything I tasted. Some starter were very oily and filled me up very quickly. When I started with Robust I was already full from starters. Service was fine, and the atmosphere was really great. But for the price they charge, in my opinion, it is just an average restaurant.

We had a lovely meal at Sticks’n’Sushi Cambridge, made all the better by our cheerful host Rosy. She recommended a special house cocktail we enjoyed and helped us decide on the ‘Carpe Diem’ meal for two. Plate after plate was all spectacular and more than satisfying. The ambience and quality of food and service was exceptional. One of our best meals out ever. A wonderful experience and memory maker.

Sticks is our favourite place to eat out. The food is beautiful and incredibly freshly tasting. We’re vegan and we love the tastes of sticks food. We’ve always been made to feel very welcome by all of the staff we’ve got to know over the 4-5 years we’ve been regularly dining in. Today it was my gf’s birthday and we were especially grateful to the excellent and friendly service Rosy, Andrei and George gave us. Thank you!

This is my favourite place! I have been coming here almost every week for the past 4 years. Their food tastes so clean and refreshing. Every time I am coming I have the best time and truly best food I ever eaten in any restaurants including Michelin stars. Today is my birthday and we decided again to celebrate here. Members of the staff Rosy, Andrei, George made my evening by being very professional and very attentive. Thank you guys !! I am always saying why will I go anywhere else to eat out if the best food is at Sticks and sushi!

Fabulous meal - great for a special occasion. The food was delicious and lots of choice on the menu. Can highly recommend the wagu beef skewers. However what made the evening so special was the service from Rosy which was wonderful. A drink was served promptly and then food and advice on the menu was given. Perfect would love to return.

It was our son’s 18th birthday and we were seated in the back area… it was great seeing the team prepare our food.Our waiter was awesome… attentive but not too much so.And the food, as always, was amazing.

I've always loved Japanese food, although it's really hard to find good places that serve it here in the UK. Really grateful to my friend who introduced me to this place some time ago. The food is always amazing and served in reasonable time. While a bit expensive, the atmosphere and food quality make this place a worthwhile treat whenever you can save up the quids for it!

I took my 15 year old granddaughter for her first experience of a Japanese restaurant. From the moment we arrived the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly our server was efficient, very helpful, the food I could not fault the whole experience was a joy.

Food is lovely but price tag is a little punchy especially when you can get authentic Japanese food a bit cheaper without the chain element.. Service was great and nice atmosphere... Very clean toilets and friendly staff... Worth a visit but not if watching the pennies.
