This place is more like a social experience than a café, in keeping the ethos of it's charitable background. We were way out of season and it's fairly well off the main beaches in a bit of a cul de sac of the riviera seafront so we suspect it's all very different in the high season. On New Year's Eve it was more like being invited to a family and friends get together than walking into a commercial establishment - apart from the paying bit obviously, but even that wasn't too painful!

We visted this lovely cafe with our grandsons and their parents. The adults were wowed by the query decor, the kids loved the toys especially the games and rocking horse train. What a gem of a find. .... we'll be back to enjoy the warm atmosphere and gracious personal touches. Durbin family

I had a good vegan lunch in this relaxing cafe which has good sea views. On Wednesday mornings there is a games club with card and board games available. The cake was excellent and I am looking forward to coming back and hopefully having another piece!

intimate but very friendly venue, The Caribbean night hosted by Drew Nyste and his wife from Daddy D,s home cooked Caribbean delivery was AMAZING !! but Im sad to say the African night was a bit of a let down we waited far too long to be served and because we were last we had no vegetables and to be quite honest I have had a lot of african food but this was tasteless sorry .

Booked this venue for a retirement party. From my first communication, on Facebook messenger to the end of the function, I found the communication great and the staff, friendly and helpful. We had approximately 80 guests. We had full use of the function room which we decorated for our purpose. People could come and go between this and the Kafe. Pay as you feel food was available and there was live music in the Kafe. The food was vegan but even hardened omnivores in our party commented on how tasty it was. The views, from the function room and the Kafe are phenomenal. Many commented on how perfect the venue was for our purpose. Would definitely recommend.

I had booked to have a therapy session at this venue. I walked 45 mins to get there to be greeted by the therapist to be told that the room was unavailable. The therapist is not associated with Kindakafe, and she was mortified that she had to let me down. The manager was very rude and only offered a twin bedroom as an alternative after the therapist repeatedly said that it wasn't suitable for purpose because there wasn't enough space. I for one will never go there again because of his rudeness.

We popped in for a quick bite while our car was in for mot. Fabulous position with amazing views of the bay and a pleasant terrace to enjoy the sun. The menu is limited but its good local produce and the young lady who served us could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We will definitely go again, we may try one of their Bistro evenings.

First of all I start with the positive. The food was lovely that was it. However if you have autism or anxiety don't bother going in here. For me Iike going out to places and keep myself to myself. I will often wear my ear buds or headphones to shut myself off. Interacting with people can be difficult. Obviously I spoke to the lady on the counter who was nice to order food. That bit was fine. I then sat down to keep myself to myself. Fine brought the food put. That was fine. Like I said I then had my headphones on where I prefer not to be interrupted. That's my way of blocking things out. I should be allowed to do that. Not I need to explain this but due to my situation I hate people approaching me when I have something like headphones on. It should a sign or signal to say I don't want to talk at the moment. I hate being caught off guard. So one of the waitresses came over offered to take my plate. I said I'm still using it. I thought I would be left alone after that. Shortly after the "owner" came over and asked the same question. I explained I don't like to be interupted and I was trying to listen to my music. I just thought it would have been obvious I didn't want to talk. I prefer not being bombarded after I have already paid. The "owner" then sacarcastcally apologied "I'm sorry about that love" and said "go somewhere else if you don't like it" which is highly unprofessional. Well he bumped into the wrong person. All I was doing is minding my own business. I have had a lot of things to process and prefer to be quiet at times. As for the "owner" you need to be educated on people with behaviour challenges. Every day its a challenge for someone like me. I then went up to the counter to explain that I'm on the autism spectrum and that I wear headphones to block things out for then for the lady with glasses basically saying first of all its a cafe and a social thing so basically have to interact with people. I then reiterated that I don't have to interact with people and I have my headphones on to basically keep myself to myself. The lady then had the cheeke to turn round and say I didn't have proof like a landyard. Why should advertise who I am. You don't ask that sort of question. Its not my fault people like them aren't educated on hidden disorders. It doesn't surprise me that there is not enough emphasis on this still but it makes me angry! I will not be coming back until it changes hands. Shocking service.

Used this pub for many years when visiting Torquay , decided to eat here last Sunday evening we popped in to find out what time serving food till and was told 9pm so 7 of us went for food at 8.30pm , wish I never bothered clearly they wasn’t happy with us going so close to 9pm ! Waiter who served us could do with cracking a smile when you have a table spending £200 on food , I had the surf and turf as it’s now a very basic menu . Fresh prawns served in a little pot was like mush at the bottom and uncooked chips which I did tell the waiter who offered another bowl . Also the added pepper corn sauce was more like a packed mix gravy . Clearly food rushed as it was time for them to close so maybe change closing times. Even though the pub area had its usual happy vibe it doesn’t follow into the restaurant. Much cheaper and happy places near by . Sorry Hope in Wall I will not be returning !
