I ordered two portions and only got one. The rice tastes like overnight rice and the meat is very salty. Last time I ordered one, the shopkeeper returned the order and didn't answer it, so I suggest you don't eat it. They don't answer the phone.

I really love the food and had visited a couple of times. However, today the place was busier than usual and delivery drivers kept coming in. The staff got overwhelmed and start swearing the f word all around the place which makes the eating experience quite bad. But I'm still giving 5 stars and visiting again in the future as the foods are really nice.

Kimchi planet has the most delicious, flavorful, and amazing authentic Korean street food. I’m so happy to have found this gem and will definitely be coming back. Also, Deliveroo messed up my order and the first driver took the food from the restaurant and never delivered it, but they were so diligent and followed up with me and deliveroo to make sure that I got my food and it was really sweet.

Unexpected. Delicious Korean food in newcastle

Had high expectations from this place and was expecting delicious and simple home made food. The food was ok but it tasted a bit bland. I could not taste sezame oil in the dishes and its a basic in Korean cooking. Also kimchi was not properly fermented.

I'm just really not sure about the hype of this place? I tried...I really tried to like this place but after giving it a try for the 5th time now (always trying different dishes with the hope I'll like the new ones), also even supporting them during the pandemic with buying kimchi from them, I can now safely say it is not for me. I love Korean food and had Korean many times that were outstanding compared to these dishes. The kimchi is very overfermented for my liking and the dishes are overall just average. Have to admit, if you are vegan then this place has good options for you. Also the staff nice. Overall, not a bad place but not the best either.

Delicious and authentic South Korean food. It was delicious and really reminded me of my travels in South Korea. I didn't like the Kimchi pancake but the vegan main dishes were delicious and the fake beef was so convincing!

Cute restaurant with nice atmosphere and a small selection of dishes, but what we tried was very nice. Kimchi was definitely more on the fresher than the more pickled/fermented side haha. We personally prefer it a bit stronger 😋 but it enjoyed it anyway. Beef bulgogi was yum! The food was served on polystyrene so sadly not so eco-friendly. Hopefully there will be actual plates and cutlery in the future 🌳🌿🌺🌍💫

Limited menu but the food on offer was fresh and well prepared. Reasonably priced, could have done with more meat in the dishes.

Fantastic place, food fresh make very quickly nice qualiti of ingredients. Order Rice bowl with chicken kimchi and sushi roll with Korean BBQ, delicious delicious delicious. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I was waiting for my order 30 minutes and it's not acceptable. 6 people queue after me get served first until I complaint then they do my order. Staff NOT even say "sorry". I am unhappy with their services, really waste of time.

Tasty vegan beef rice bowl. They have sit in available, but not a lot of space. Chop sticks or knife and fork. Nice people behind the counter too.

This place is absolutely fantastic if you want something different in Newcastle. My partner had m watching Korean videos during lockdown and she was overjoyed when she found out about this place. The food was beautiful and we would highly recommend the place. I am a bit of a typical man and like big portions, this place didn't disappoint and I left wobbling down the street to my car. This place is best got to by foot as parking is slim, we came in the late afternoon to avoid any rush and it was quiet but still no parking. We had a variety of choices across the menu and with the eat out to help out it was very very reasonable. To drink we had pear juice and the watermelon soda which was simply Divine, I think the best word to describe these is refreshing, and not like a can of coke type, this was unreal. We had some hottock for dessert which went down extremely well, kind of like an apple pie. Overall the experience was exactly as expected and if we wasn't moving away, we would both have been back.

Amazing food and amazing customer service!

Chicken was dry. The kimchi jeon was deep fried which is unique but I prefer it done the normal way, pan fried and the kimchi tastes a bit strange for my liking. The kimchi fried rice has more gochujjang than a usual kimchi fried rice but it wasn't bad. Overall, it's not a bad place but it's not somewhere I would go again. I like the decor and the staff are nice though.

This place has some of the Best Korean Food that I have had. Its a little quaint place that plays good music and really good food. I reccomend the Kimchi Fried Rice!

Delicious food for fair prices! I personally liked the sticky rice we received the first time better than the dryer/regular rice the second time. On big disadvantage: ventilation seems to be a problem as my (clean!) clothes smelled quite bad and greasy, and needed a wash right away.

Are you sure this kimchi pancake restaurant can eat it? ? ? Are you still selling it after it’s become so messed up? ? ? Jajangmyeon is boiled instant noodles, and kimbap is salty and edible.

Found this place via a friend's recommendation and its my favourite Korean food place!! The food is absolutely delicious and the price is reasonable and the portions are big. I often come here by myself at lunchtime with a takeaway order or with my girlfriend for a nice dinner 😊. The only criticism is that the restaurant doesn't have an on site restroom and the seating capacity is limited. Otherwise this place is amazing! I'd recommend that Rice Bowl dishes and the Spicy Kimchi Fried Rice Dishes as they fill you up for a very reasonable price, not to mention they are very tasty! Will always come here again 🙂

Little place, easy going, amazing food

It’s just so good! A wonderful Korean shop with a solid menu of kimbap, ramen, and fried rice, with options for the vegetarians too. The shop also occasionally has food specials on, in addition to having a small selection of imported gifts and snacks. Great spot for a cute lunch or a solid takeaway (kimchi fried rice takeaway pictured), but not the best for large groups (it’s not a huge shop).

Tried twice. First time good. 2nd time bad. Cold food, waited around for it and not worth the wait. Disappointed. Not sure about going back. Seen very poor response by owner. Didn't even address the fact that I ordered the same dish on two occasions, varying in quality. Busy or not busy, the food should not be lovely one time and so different the 2nd time. Also the 2nd time, a lovely topping was put on, not the second time. Gave the chance to put things right by texting the restaurant then the initial review. I was planning to bring a family of 7 people one day but poor customer complaint handling means forget it.

Found this place on Google search and with our new found love of Korean food we were not disappointed. Ordered the bulgogi beef rice bowl, veg pancakes, kimchi kimbap and hottoek honey pancakes for dessert. Food was prepared fresh so had a wait but all was delicious. Portion sizes are decent and prices very reasonable. Staff friendly and welcoming. Menu simple and what we ordered was ample for lunchtime. Only downfall for this place was the smokey atmosphere when cooking the food. But we will certainly be back another time.

The food is absolutely gorgeous, really filling so I recommend that you bring a few people. The service is wonderful and the atmosphere calming - 5/5 would eat there again

Small little cafe that is tucked out the way, but serves the most delicious well presented food. Not loads to choose from but just enough . I don't think anything is over the price if 6 quid. Mine and my daughters new favourite place.

I came here to try the restaurant recommended by Sensi in Karate. Sensi described it very exaggeratedly, saying it was very, very delicious, the portions were plentiful, and the price was cheap. The price is not expensive, but the taste is average. The Kimchi fried rice was so salty that I couldn't finish it, and the beef sushi rice was a bit dry. The exhaust fan of their range hood probably wasn't powerful enough. Sitting in the store, I was surrounded by oil smoke and felt like I couldn't breathe. It's more suitable for students. Personally, I probably won't go there again.

This felt exactly the same as when I lived in Korea and went to a family run place. The food is definitely authentic, perhaps tweaked a little too suit English eating styles, but the flavours are perfect. I had a good chat with the Korean staff in Korean and just felt completely transported back to Seoul. I had the spicy chicken rice bowl(덮밥) and green tea (현미녹차), I also had the Korean kimchi pancakes (김치전) not pictured and it was perfect. The store inside the shop is kind of cute but no frills, just like Korea and the atmosphere is really relaxed. I'm quite literally going back.... On Monday because my husband is jealous he missed out. ^^ 정말 한식맛이다. 맛있어요. 영국에서 더맛있고 한국처럼 있는 정소 없을거같아요.

Very nice Korean restaurant. Informal and relaxed. Dishes are fast, freshly prepared and very tasty. Try a rice bowl with a side order of kimchi.

Can't get enough of their Kimbap rolls! Thoroughly recommend this place. Keep an eye out for their specials as well. The Mandu made for Korean New Year were amazing!

The Kimbap is really authentic and it offer vegan /vegetarian option. Rice Bowl were relatively cheap and portion were decent, I ordered both spicy chicken and beef bulgogi rice bowl. The spicy chicken were very good and the favour is mixing well together. However, I think the beef bulgogi is little too salty for me and it would be better if they get a juicer cut of beef because bulgogi requires a longer cooking time.
