Being of Indian origin myself, one of the things I tend to do before embarking on a full meal at a new-to-me Indian food establishment, I get a portion of takeaway samosas first. For me, it's my own gauge of how good, or bad, the rest of their offerings could be. On this particular day, I ordered two portions, one for myself and one for my partner. That's a total of six samosas, with two tubs of 'mint based sauce'. Total price; £9.50 After picking them up, we walked home (20 mins) and opened the takeaway bag up to what can only be described as sheer disappointment. The samosas themselves were greasy and absolutely tiny (roughly business card sized) and made with the thinest filo pastry you could get. They looked anemic. As we chose vegetable samosas, they were filled with a mix of diced spicy potatoes and peas. The potatoes were half-cooked and not well cooked through with the spices at all. The 'mint sauce' they supplied to go with the samosas was the exact same colour, taste and consistency of melted vanilla icecream. For the price, I was expecting something even half decent. It was nowhere near. I actually kicked myself for going in there in the first place. It's very rundown and shabby both on the outside and inside, which in itself shows the owners aren't too bothered about presenting themselves as a decent eaterie. As we have a lack of Indian restaurants in this area, the only way I would go back in is if they cleaned their place up and got a decent chef in place. Until then, not a chance.

So sad I've used this place for 12 years and they've messed up this evening and blamed it all on me. Really insulting to say the least.

Brilliant food! My girlfriend and I get a take away from Khushbu pretty much monthly. We always have the same - Chicken Badami & Chicken Tikka Dansak, Mushroom Rice, Garlic Naan, Side of Vegetable Curry. I could not recommend this take away enough for both food quality and service. I live in Henfield, so a Delivery is always iffy as it's 5+miles away. Collection advised! Ordering online - be careful as you don't get the 10% Discount (for cash) - phone order through instead. As for the person's review beneath this one... if you'd been "getting a take away from Khushbu for years" - then why has it taken you one bad meal to give a review? Where are the reviews for all the good meals you'd eaten? Sorry to see you received a bad meal, but others should NOT be put off by this. I can safely say, this place's curries are some of the best I have eaten and remained consistently good over the past 5 years.

You pay £14.95 for main dish - this does not include rice - small squares of rubbery chicken with very thin sauce for a Dhansak - had little to no heating on, sat with coat on - even waiter had a boo-boo hat - not a great experience sadly

Great meal but for seven main meals there was only one small bag of onion chutney. Very mean having spent over sixty pounds.

I’ve had food from this takeaway before and it’s always been ok. I ordered my food and asked about cost £35. Make sure you have the correct money as I only had £40. They don’t carry change! I told delivery guy that I didn’t want it without having change, he was very rude. I refused the food on this basis, called the takeaway and expressed my dissapointment to no avail. Won’t be using them again! Rude!

Absolutely shocking! Been using Khushbu for Many years and I can’t believe how bad the meal was on Saturday night. Pulled a long black hair out of the korma which is utterly unacceptable.the lamb was rubbery and in tiny pieces and the popadoms were soft like they had been hanging around a few days.I will not be returning!

Just visited the restaurant and explained that I could not eat dairy. The management (apparently new) went out of their way to accommodate me. The food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

My friends regularly pass the So India to and from visits to their holiday accommodation in Bridport. But they pass the door too early for the restaurant to be open or too late and it is closed. each time they vow to go in. A recent visit to Sussex allowed my wife and I to host an evening at the So India. My friend's had arrived a few minutes before us but the management had made them welcome and on our arrival we moved to our table. Even though this was a Friday Evening the restaurant was not totally rammed and its location means that the 'Friday Night OAF element' rarely find their was to the door. We chose a slightly cramped corner table but once we had settled the restricted space was not an issue. My friend was delighted to find an item on the menu that he had never seen in any other Indian Restaurant and he and his lady travel to and from London and acrosss europe regularly so it was a bit plus point to find something that is not provided elsewhere. So India has a comprehensive Menu which in reduced form is available as a take away either from the Restaurant direct or from the various carry-out curry houses on the Sussex coastal strip which are all part of the chain. I have eaten at this restaurant several times and found the meals to be wonderfully tasty and nourishing not just a hot spicey sauce with meat and rice which can be the case with many other restaurants. In conversation my friends and I agreed that the SoIndia is worthy of several other visits in future and my friend was also going to recommend it to his wider circle of friends and relatives. Service was attentive and friendly and helped make the evening a pleasure. We will be back again for another sampling of the menu.
