Love this restaurant. Very pleasantly surprised at the attentive service, superb food & good wine. Lovely atmosphere, lots of locals, decor of a traditional Indian restaurant. Large menu. All the staff were welcoming & the food was fab. It’s a great asset to Midhurst.

The quality of some food here isn’t great. I’ve never seen a green chicken tikka masala very watery no consistence of almond or coconut. But the naan bread came out fluffy & fresh. Might give this place a miss in the near future.

Average ! I had chicken tikka passanda & the chicken definitely wasn’t Tikka.. it lacked flavour & was tough in places . The sauce was tasty.. Naan soggy and too doughy ( as stated in other reviews) Won’t be rushing back I’m afraid! Oh and reduce your prices! Your food does not warrant these prices!

My wife comes from Midhurst and we have known about this restaurant for many years. However we had never visited the restaurant until recently, the reason being that my mother in law preferred to visit Italian and European restaurants on the odd occasions that we eat out. On our last visit, we all decided that we should try Lime and Spice and we were not disappointed. The restaurant has a warm and cosy feel to it and the staff were incredibly friendly. The food was excellent, all three of us really enjoyed our main course choices. My mother in law was very enthusiastic and is already planning our next visit to the Lime and Spice. Hopefully we will have the pleasure of dining at this lovely restaurant in a couple of weeks time.

I would like to bring it to the attention of customers that the price list online for the Lime and spice website for takeaways is incorrect I ordered a takeaway on Saturday evening and was charged £39. When I phoned on Sunday evening I was told that the prices on the website had been increased but the website had not been updated My bill on the website for what I ordered came to £29 so it was a significant difference Our curry was fine but their website should be updated ASAP as it is very misleading

Came across Lime and Spice by chance on a wet Wednesday evening when passing through Midhurst en route from West Wittering back to London. Whilst the initial reception was rather brusque, the follow on service and food were excellent. The restaurant is distinctly non pretentious and the tables are a little cramped but this is more than compensated for by the quality of the food. 3 of us aged males enjoyed a superb chicken shashlik, chicken jalfrezi, a vegetable curry, perfectly cooked rice, light and fluffy naan bread and the best onion bhajis ever. Helpings were generous and all dishes seemed to be freshly prepared.Full strength and alcohol free Cobra beers completed a most enjoyable meal. If I lived closer to Midhurst I would undoubtedly become a regular.

Had a takeaway from here last night. Fantastic food. Really tasty and flavoursome. We had a lamb vindaloo, king prawn korma and a sirloin steak. All were fantastic. The lamb was incredibly tender and pleasantly hot, the prawns in a creamy tasty sauce and the steak was cooked perfectly. All the meats were excellent quality and perfectly spiced. Really, really good food. Will be going back many times I am sure and cannot wait to eat in the restaurant when allowed.

This was the second time of eating at this restaurant and the food was fabulous.Nice speed of service, not too fast and not sitting there trying to catch the waiters eye. The friendly staff obviously have an interest in people and appeared to know their regular customers well. Every part of our chosen meal was delightful, well flavoured and fresh. The Peshwari Naan was out of this world, worth a visit for those alone! As far as seen all possible precautions were in place relating to Covid-19 guidelines, the restaurant felt very clean and safe, diners well positioned etc.We always tell people about the Lime and Spice if they're planning a visit to Midhurst and to be honest we live about 50 miles away so the fact we visit especially for this restaurant is a pretty good and honest recommendation!

I picked this restaurant on the basis of the reviews here - and was badly disappointed. The food was very average. I had a chicken biryani which was pretty poor and my wife picked one of their recommended dishes - sea bass which arrived in a luke warm sauce that was pretty tasteless. The actual building is very basic and not terribly warm. Service was average. The focus seemed to be on takeaway rather than inhouse dining. I will not go back.

We liked the look of Khan's restaurant and went for dinner mid-week. The menu is absolutely massive and so we took some time over our Cobra beers to make our choices. We started with Chicken Tikka and Sheek Kebab starters, followed by Sally Lamb and Fiery Chicken (medium heat, despite the name!) as mains. Every dish was excellent and full of flavours. Moreover, both mains had just enough sauce to cover the meat and spices, not swimming in sauce as is so often the case. The ambience was nice with quiet music, white tablecloths and interesting wall-mounted water features!

If you can get past the superior and rude attitude of the manager then you will have a good meal. The food is generous and of high quality. Their food is excellent, well worth a trip if you like subcontinental food. We'll be making a detour to enjoy it again. The portions rarely defeat me but they did at Khans, you can see why it is so popular with those recently in from outside in this country area. The menu is creative. It includes a lot of fish dishes which is a rarity for an 'Indian' restaurant. My dish of fish was expertly made and very tasty; the herbs and spices were clearly fresh and the dish made from scratch when ordered though it took a reasonably short time to arrive. (Can't remember the fish species but it was a firm white fleshed, probably freshwater, fish of some sort - they also had Salmon on offer). The dall-sag side dish was good and my partner's prawn dish, like mine was delicious. The helpings were so generous that I almost regretted ordering the side dish as I could not finish mine - a rarity! All the dishes were served in silver lined beaten copper serving dishes which looked good. The only strange thing was that the entrance leads directly onto their busy take-away area which is thronged with customers who like their food. This is a bit off putting but their fairly blandly decorated main dining room is close by to your right and fine. The waiters are helpful and sufficiently, but not too, attentive. Well done all at Khans!Oh! To the proprietor. You should tell your staff about the praise they get on TripAdvisor. Our waiter had not heard of it and he was not a newbie, that was obvious. It might encourage them to do an even better job if they see how well their work is received.

To be honest Khans has been in the town a long time and over the years we have visited many times, but this is the first time I have 'put pen to paper'.The menu is probably similar to many restaurants of this genre, but I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here. They have a varied menu with a range from mild to very spicy. A good House Specials menu and a good front of house team. It really doesn't matter the size of your party, they will help you. Clearly if your party is particularly large booking is essential, as it is for smaller parties from Thursday to Saturday. Remember they do have a day off on Mondays..Give them a try.

Wow! Never had a nicer Indian meal from start to finish. Not the plushest place but with great staff and a fairly comprehensive menu with some unusual items it should be on you Indian favourite list. We started with poppadoms and pickles, followed by an Indian version of salmon and some onion bhajis - all fantastic. The waiter took the time to tell us about the different meals/sauces/spice levels etc and we went for a chicken tikka jalfrezi (quite hot) and a chicken balti with mushroom rice and a naan. We ate the lot! Service speed was just right - not rushed but not waiting - and including two large white wines and a pint of Cobra the bill was a tad over £50 - not cheap but worth paying for the quality and taste. Pity we live 250 mi#les away or we'd be regulars. Takeaways also available ) and they were doing a roaring trade on these)

Went to Khan's Brasserie yesterday Thursday 30th June. Arrived just after 5.30 when they opened. Staff spoke to us for ordering but not much more. We asked for one Pakora to share which was not on the menu. To be fair to them they did produce something completely different to what we expected but despite the grease on it we ate it. For our main course we each ordered Chicken Bhuna with one Pilau rice to share and one Nan Bread to share. We were curious to know what the special Nan bread was like and when told decided to order it. Everything arrived piping hot - rice was OK but the Bhuna sauce was very watery and hardly any taste to it - very bland. The chicken was ok but the sauce being so weak and watery made the meal very disappointing. The special Nan was nothing special. We had so looked forward to going there based on the glowing reports of others. We should have checked the poor reviews! We are on holiday here and have never been given such a watery Bhuna anywhere at home or here. Normally a Bhuna has quite a thick sauce and is quite spicy. When I went to,pay the gentleman at the counter he barely looked at me and said nothing as I went through the paying process . He almost shoved the credit card machine at me. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and maybe the people who go there have no choice as it seemed to be the only Indian restaurant in Midhurst so they have nothing to compare it with. Cost was almost £30 - not worth it .

We were looking forward to our first visit to this restaurant, but were quite surprised at the lacklustre welcome on our arrival Although, we had not booked we were made to feel as though finding us a table was all a bit of a chore. Also, when you arrive you enter what appears to be a take away desk. This doesn't really make you feel as though you will be experiencing an evening of glamour. The decor is dated and rather unpleasant, but we found the food, which arrived promptly and was nice and hot, was actually delicious.

I just thought I would update my review in light of some pretty scathing reviews in recent times. I returned to Khan's Brasserie after a break of two years. I had read a couple of bad reviews since my last visit and whilst I have no reason to believe they were incorrect I am sure that the experiences of the people who gave negative reviews are not typical and possibly reflect the certainty that every restaurant can have a bad day or series of days. My experience tonight confirmed my previous view that Khan's is as good as any of the Indian/ Bangladeshi restaurants in the area. I took my mum and dad for a curry and it was pleasant an experience as it was last time. The chicken tikka was moist and tasty, my Biriani was equally satisfying and my mum and dad both enjoyed their meals as well. The service was polite and sufficiently attentive for our needs and we had a nice visit. Personally I highly recommend it.

One of the dishes was spectacular - got to be in the top five curries I've ever had. Two other dishes we ordered were good but didn't live up to the other one (and I can't remember what it was called!! Arghghg). Service was good. We'll be back

Remember that madras you had all those years ago? Proper mutton and a thin but flavour packed sauce...? I also thought i was remembering it through the 'old days were better' mists of time. However after a superb lamb madras with potatoes and a tandoori roti.....well, glad to rewind! The food does not have the high class feel that a lot of Indian restaurants are aiming for nowadays and the decor is a little odd and dimly lit but If you enjoy a old school style traditional dish I would recommend a visit. I visited during Ramadan and considering at the time I ate the staff were approaching 20 hours without food and drink the service was very good.

This is a good local restaurant in Midhurst.Has a decent authentic menu and the food is very good. Prices are mid range and the staff are friendly and respond well to a smile of kind word.Park across the street....it couldn't be easier.

Dined at Khan's again last Friday and had yet another great meal. We have been here several times and have never been disappointed. The only item we have ever had doubts about was the cream for our coffee one evening! However, we became aware that we were being observed by one of the waiters who was ready to whizz it away and replace it had we not assured him that there was nothing wrong with it apart from being a bit thick! Have booked again for next Saturday for my husband's birthday!

we came here for the first time after Christmas with friends. Were seated with a huff because 1 of our party couldn't make it due to a sick child at the last minute. the service was always perfunctory and without a smile. the food was average (a much better curry house in fernhurst which is cheaper)wouldn't go again unless I didn't have a choice.

It's a little North of the true town centre of Midhurst but if you want a decent Indian meal with good, friendly and understanding staff this is worth the effort.A comprehensive menu which easily coped with our group of 10 sometimes demanding 'older gentlemen' with ease and politeness.Portions are large (as usual) but the ones I tried were very tasty.

I always enjoy my take away or eat in here , the older waiter can be a bit surly but the food is good and the rest of the staff seem friendly and attentive . The style of cooking can border on the sweeter side of indian spices , the nations fave Tikka Massala is very red and sweet , I really enjoy the Balti which is spicy and full of flavour . Recommend this if you are staying in the area or want a take out .

Great staff and excellent food, really, really good - never disappoints. I've had quite a few different dishes and would record any if the chefs dishes.

We had a takeaway from here this evening and I have no idea how it is rated so highly? Without sounding rude... unless everybody who has reviewed this has never eaten a decent Indian meal, all of the reviews are fake OR it is under new management then I'm not quite sure what is going on.We ordered a Chicken Tikka Massalla, a chicken tikka, prawn tikka and pilau rice. All of the food was bland and flavourless, the chicken was all dry as a bone and the chicken tikka Massalla consisted of 5 bits of chicken in a bath of flavourless sauce. Considering this all cost in excess of £30 it was not worth the money and we will definitely not be eating here again! I would go as far to say it was the most disappointing Indian takeaway I've ever eaten........

Simply cannot get enough of this place. Food is always first class. Service is really good and I seriously recommend the onion bhaji never been anywhere where they are so good. Visited this restaurant regularly before leaving town and can't wait to visit again when I return!

Visited here for afternoon tea. Welcome was ok, but then we waited for a while to see if there was a free table. Bizarrely no one else was in the cafe and the upstairs service where we were seated was almost unfriendly and you felt you were in the way. When we asked for a spoon for our tea we were greeted with a huff and puff… Gets good reviews elsewhere, but sadly not from us..

Decor/decorum was nice. Staff were nice enough.. Came in early evening with a couple of tables already inside. Food was okay but no wow factor to it. Didn’t think prices of items reflected what we got. They forgot an item that we ordered but gave us another item that we didn’t instead, so perhaps a mix up there. No check back to see how our meal was/for us to get another drink. Chorizo, calamari, mushrooms, a side salad with a med wine and bottle of beer with service charge came just shy of £60.. which I’m in two minds about, If it was worth it based on the overall visit. Overall experience was okay but wouldn’t go back in a hurry based on experience but perhaps a one off.

the advert is incorrect. No hot food /soup/lunch. only cake coffee/tea. lovely setting bright and airy in the greenhouse

A very interesting cafe tucked away down a side passage to this whole food shop. Greeted by the aroma of tasty smells. Ideal for a coffee stop. There were many books and newspapers to keep one amused. There was a selection of healthy foods on offer but essentially I visited with a friend for coffee. No background music which is good as we had a good uninterrupted conversatiin.
