Food was very nice and the garden is very nice with plenty tables and chairs. Car park big. Only thing I wasn't really impressed about the menu not great for our liking. Very fussy eaters me especially as I love gammon./ ham,eggs and chips, lasagne, smothered chicken. But didn't notice any of it on the menu. But no fault otherwise

For anyone going with kids for the play area, I'm afraid it doesn't exist! Maybe an update on the website needed... The garden had mole traps in for our curious kids to find as well... A shame as the food was good!

Maybe I am out of touch, but charging the best part of £11 for one pint of bitter shandy and one pint of larger shandy seems a bit steep. Nice place otherwise.

This must be the friendliest pub in the world! All the staff were so friendly and helpful and service was excellent. Good food, reasonably priced and delicious. I can’t praise it highly enough.

Lovely and quiet and the food was fantastic. Simple but well presented and the macaroni cheese was hot to the bottom of the dish. Excellent triple fried chips!

I booked the conservatory for my 80th birthday lunch, which proved to be just the right size for 20 people with a lovely atmosphere as we were allowed to add decorations. The food was delicious and served promptly and the staff were charming and helpful. I would definitely use it for a function again.

Great Sunday roast cooked perfectly and service very good

Had a 3 course Christmas lunch at the Greyhound on Thursday as part of a group of 30+ people. Really excellent meal served piping hot, delicious, and very generous portions. Very good service, friendly and efficient. Will most definitely come back. My first visit to this pub, highly recommended on the basis of this visit.

Excellent nut roast and especially enjoyed the mushroom gravy. The 'greenhouse' seating area is beautiful.

Had a great lunch on Saturday afternoon around 2:30pm. All the food was tasty. We had a camembert starter, sea bass and scampi mains and the syrup pudding and chocolate delice for dessert. They were happy to accommodate substitutions requested, for example skinny fries instead of chips. Service was friendly. Definitely will go again.

We had the roast pork Sunday lunch with all the trimmings and it was lovely. The crackling was particularly good. We sat inside bc it was too hot but the garden out the back is perfect. Thoroughly reccomend the greyhound.

Great welcome prompt service food excellent

The Greyhound was suggested by the owner of our B&B. I called in advance for a reservation and told them we have a toddler. When we came, our table was already set with the high chair. The staff were friendly and really accommodating. The food was quite good, tasted fresh and the presentation was enticing. They also have a kids menu with some decent dishes and my little one ate most of it without any pushback (that's your seal of approval lol).

Loved it, have been travelling along the road for years, but we went in and it was lovely, two gardens and a huge dinning space, food was lovely too, staff very helpful, would recommend 😀

Took the family for Sunday roast. Not only was good out of this world (puddings are all clearly homemade), but service is also first class. Will definitely come back.

Booked a table for 5 for Sunday lunch at 1pm. When we arrived the waitress came over and took our order for drinks, within 10 minutes she came back to inform us that all they had left for Sunday lunch was 1 lamb and a few pork nothing else... at 1pm! We had driven quite a distance and it would have been nice to have been told before we spent £40 on drinks that this was the case. We then told them we were leaving and didn't get apology from anyone. I get the impression from the landlady that all they are interested in is the locals and no one else.

A lovely old country pub with plenty of parking. Nice friendly staff and locals. They serve a good pint of beer. Loads of outside seating if you want to sit outside for a meal and a drink.

I attended for a wedding meal. The food was fantastic and it was a great environment with a good garden for kids.

I had lunch here the other day. We sat by a lovely open fire. My sister, who is mentally challenged, was with us. The staff were lovely. Decent pub grub, home made, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

A absolute disappointment, a long wait for table service and the food. Virtually cold when it arrived, and a ordered coffee which I never got. After five or six previous visits, this one was damned awful. Table 2 today February 1st @12 noon.

My wife and I had two gorgeous Sunday roasts cooked to perfection. The staff were very friendly and the log fire burning made the very wet day perfect.

Rude member of staff. Definitely requires customer service training and general manners, respect for customers would be a bonus. Location itself is amazing as is the food. The member of staff ruined what should of been a great experience.

We had a wonderful family lunch in the conservatory. Very polite and helpful staff. Food was excellent quality and indeed the triple cooked chips were to die for, the best I've ever had (and I've been round the block a few times). The cod was sublime, both the crispy golden batter and the tender flaking fish. My son was also mightily impressed with his burger. What a find. We'll definitely be back! Thank you.

Lovely pub just off the main road to Chichester. Cosy inside, nice garden areas and fine ales dispensed by charming staff. Recommended.

I've been in England/UK a few times and this is by far the best food I've eaten there. Products are high quality and the cuisine is perfect, very good staff.

If I could give zero stars to this pub I would. I arrived with 2 hungry children for a roast and had booked a table for 1.30pm. Because the kids were so hungry we arrived early (12.45pm) and the pub had 20 diners maximum. We were told by a very rude lady (who transpired to be the manager) that we had booked at 1.30pm we would have to wait until then to order. At 1.50pm they came out into the garden to say our 2 x kids roasts and 1 x adult roast would be at least another 15 minutes bearing in mind they just beed to slice the meat and put the vegatables and gravy on the plate. I have never been so disgusted with the service I have received in a pub in my life. We asked for a refund and left for another local pub as I was so angry at how a dad with his 2 hungry kids had been treated. These staff need to learn that working in hospitality means just that “hospitality”!! Suggest some serious staff training is required in how to make customers feel welcome and not an inconvenience to their day.

Love this place. Lovely garden with views of the South Downs, nice grub and lively pints patrolled by wonderful staff. Cracking bit of banter with the locals as well. All round, a very pleasurable experience.

Top service Having been refused so much as a sandwich at a nearby pub, as I had just missed service, even though food was still coming out the kitchen, came in here to The Greyhound and even though the chef had left, the charming bar staff still managed to sort me out something to eat from the kitchen. That is doing hospitality properly..! Frankie, the owner not manager..of the royal oak could learn a lot.about how to treat your customers from the young lady working in here today. Lovely little pub with friendly welcoming staff. Went as a party of 4 for an evening meal. Schnitzel burgers were fantastic. Menus choices and prices are great as is the venue.

A group of 15 of us on motorcycles rocked up here for lunch. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was good, and reasonably priced. Lots of outdoor seating with blankets provided. Excellent.

A very nice setting and decor. Light and bright with table service. My friend had the pork roast which was lovely. The gluten free cod batter was way too thick for me sadly.

Great food, service, location and beer.

Cider and chips, weekly visit makes for a good week. Car park surface a little rough in places, various external eating areas, inside old pub charm well maintained. Covid controls in place, left to individuals to adopt their own safety measures.
