KFC Retford - King Edwards Services in Bassetlaw

Most of the staff dont really care if the foods ok, more intent on messing around and spending time in the asda garage with their friends next door which is where you always seem to find a few of them whilst the ones left in the outlet are left to struggle. Wouldnt be the first time iv been in and there was food waste and general rubbish all over the place and generaly looks like a bombs hit it !!!. May be a bit extra to travel but the one at east markham is far better and not run by children.

Takes ages for your food to be prepared even though it wasn't busy and the design of the shop made it so the automatic door continuously opens and closes even when no-one is stood near it, so if you eat in it's freezing

Had some issues with ordering online, however, the manager was really lovely and helpful, sorted it out by giving us free meals.

I have absolutely no idea what this branch are doing, and I really don’t think they do either. Sat for 40 minutes waiting, whilst watching every person before us receive an incorrect order, then ours? Incorrect. Someone needs to organise this place somehow. Previous visits have been similar.

Not the best KFC around. Hit and miss with the food and closes at peculiar times. I drive past it to go to the new one at retford

Small KFC not many tables with very loud A,C overflowing rubbish bin. Food is not bad

Says it’s open til 10 - we ordered at 8.20 and were told after 15 minutes of waiting that we couldn’t eat in after 8.30 as the seating area closed - there are 3 tables which would have taken roughly 5 minutes to wipe the down. Seems a bit ridiculous, also we spent £37 but got a refund as we were told we couldn’t eat in. Surely it’s not hard to clean up after the restaurant closes. Very disappointing

Not a thank you They called customer order number shoved the meal onto the counter not a thank you Gets in the car drive home no drink ! Worst kfc Food is not value for money now

Hit and miss of you get your full order. Staff look like you asked them about da vinci code. Regardless if drive thru is empty they will get you to park up amd wait.

Fast food…took 40 minutes tonight.didn’t get on the bone chicken because that was another 20 minute wait . Ordered coleslaw..got beans. Chicken was hot ,chips Luke warm Never had a good experience here waiting waiting waiting then it’s not what you ordered Unfortunately this business will not survive

Great place, very good food and excellent service.

Great food nice and fresh. But I would expect that when the wait Is 25mins plus.

It has electric car charging and a Gregg's, so almost full marks for a break. But last time I stopped there the Gregg's had closed an hour earlier than indicated by their app, and I missed it.

Best KFC around. Service can be a but touch and go with missing items and small dining area, which catches the cold wind but hey the chickens great

Ordered in restaurant to eat at home. When we got home order was wrong. Doesn't appear to be any way of complaining unless we drive back to restaurant.

went in this lunchtime and only two staff taking orders at a very busy period.the one girl there was so sweet and attentive but round the back you can see staff not doing much. poor girl was doing everything by herself. food was finally out 30 minutes later. they really need to sort their service out.

I went to KFC as it was on my way back home. The restaurant was so clean both outside and inside. The windows were clean, floors and toilets. The food was really lovely and hot and was served quickly. The staff were friendly and smiling. They even carried my food over as I have disability. What a wonderful experience and I will definitely visit again. Thank you

I have since removed my review and can now repost that kfc retford attached to Asda was a great visit great food great service. They turn off app ordering ridiculously early, third time I've tried to order to pick up on the way home and I can't. I give up.

This was a great restaurant to eat in at, which was easy to find at the King Edwards Services from the entrance! Plenty of kiosks are available and the design is flashy, having a vintage frame of the Colonel and KFC's slogan. The staff were friendly, Teriyaki Burger met my expectations and speed was fine, apart from the restaurant opening late because they apparently had not cooked enough chicken.

2 hairs on my chips end up in the bin will not be returning again

Zinger stack is incredible never had a bad one it's utterly gorgeous but i left today pretty annoyed i don't really care for the fries not a good taste and can be cold but today i brought some and found 2 hair's in them so i threw them straight in the bin I'm not being funny staff seem cool from I've encountered but that's a pretty poor mistake to making. The place is pretty tight for space also it gets crowded pretty easily.

Huge amount of litter from overflowing bins, awful toilet with broken lock, taps, flush, toilet roll holder, etc. As for the food, who knows. I certainly wouldn't eat anything from such a place.

Came here for my daughter's bday meal and really enjoyed it...nice, tasty and well cooked food, with friendly staff serving it...5☆☆☆☆☆

Food is sometimes a hit or miss, can be very salty or very soggy and fallen apart burgers, convenient for a quick fix.

I think this is the smallest KFC I've ever been too! There were 4 or 5 tables from what I can remember and it was busy. The staff were kind and helpful when we needed help. Food was hot service was good. I did think it was a bit more expensive then our usual KFC so think that might be because it's classed as a "service station" and things tend to be a bit more in places like this.

The food was hot and as expected. However, the restaurant/seating area is lacking in space. And you're sitting by the queue and by the door.

We got cheated this afternoon. We ordered family feast for 6. We had 5 drum stick chicken in the pack. That's not right. They are cheaters!

UODATED April 2023. Due to below review re; inside temperature. I used drive thru to purchase 8 piece original recipe bucket -£12.99 . 8 Greasy oily,wet chicken pieces. Skin falling off due to oil/ grease? .. Not a nice taste. The oil was very hot though, if that is relevant. Best avoided imo. PREVIOUS REVIEW - Freezing cold inside due to air con on full . Asked for the air con to be turned down - apparently if you cant feel it in the kitchen, they won't.!!..... Doesn't matter how cold it is for the customer. It's the kitchen staff that count ! WiFi intermittent. Food gets cold quickly ( see above) uncomfortable due to climate. Not recommended ..

Absolutely vile. Urine all over the toilet floor and no toilet roll. Bit of a queue and long wait for food. Rubbish all over the floor and tables and staff were not cleaning. I am normally very understanding that things are busy but a cleaner was so needed. No excuse!!!!

Easy ordering on the board and good service from the staff

Although it is small we really enjoyed it.the food was excellent.i was put off KFC last year after visiting one on Mansfield road in Nottingham . but this was excellent food and service also will go again

Perfect lunch, as they say finger licking good, lovely service and very very clean.

Utterly diabolical The experience at the drive through at this establishment begins with a completely unreasonable time to get through the drive through section. Following this you encounter astronomically rude employees whilst ordering your food and almost miraculously you feel as if you have been entered into the world’s first time machine where you will find yourself with another inexplicable thirty minute wait at a very quiet FAST food restaurant, only to receive the incorrect order. This is an absolute disgrace and I wouldn’t recommend visiting this place under any circumstance even if starving as it is more likely that a disabled man could run a marathon before you receive your food in enough time to remain alive.

The food I ordered ( zinger tower burger meal ) was nice. But I had checked my nationwide app when home and I had been charged 2 times. They owe me another

Enjoyed the meal I had, had a bit of a wait, does feel a bit cramped to eat in, so I sat in the car.

Nice meal, ordered online, but horrendous delay in getting served. Short staffed but the staff were very pleasant and apologetic.

First time and last time using ordered 6 piece and didn't get a single side no way of contacting

So disappointed, we had waited ages for our food. I actually felt sorry for the people in the queue behind me as the staff were making up their food and leaving it on the side in the bags to just go cold. Once we arrived home were 6 portions of chips and all of the chicken fillet strips short from our party bucket. Quite embarrassing when we had invited friends round to eat and they only like chicken off the bone. Not happy at all

Very average and food wasn't that warm. Also do not get the gravy as it was just horrible, bland and watery.

Been four times and foods been spot on everytime. Food was done fast to say it was very very busy everytime. 🍗

So I wanted to change my review. After careful consideration and using a sober mind, I understand that it takes time to adjust and get things right. The food isn't the greatest, but myself working in the food business, I understand how much pressure one would be under working a busy shift servicing hundreds of people a day and having to deal with customers who at times may not be very polite, however more training needs to be given to the staff here to help them. They're young and sometimes inexperienced with little customer relations experience what needs to be addressed.

This is the worst Drive-through in the world! I have ordered 1 piece of chicken with 3 chicken wings to top up my small kebab from town and I had to spend 30 minutes of my Sunday evening in a queue for a piece of chicken which I couldn't leave too! So when I got my order and asked for the receipt, it took them another 10 minutes to get the manager down just to print me a new receipt. Which means that they have been serving customers without receipts and I will make sure to let KFC know about it!!! Sunday night wasted! Avoid at any cost!!
