Kfc in County Durham

Standard kfc with the odd time of having to return food due to undercooked chicken. Since my last review, I got a bad case of food poisoning from the Consett restaurant. Avoid at all costs.

Got to stay here for a while because my friends mam works here

Called in last night for a bargain bucket, I initially requested cola however on reaching pay booth I had changed my mind and requested to cancel the cola. The girl on the till proceeded to say she would have to cancel the full order and re set the till then put my order through again. Not one smile a dead pan rude face and attitude. I said we'll do that then .You would think 8 had said walk the plank. She then went to discuss with a boy,again she came back face like thunder did the transaction by this time food was cooling fast.

This is one of the nicest KFC's I have had. It's up there in my top 3. The staff were lovely and the food was absolutely spot on. The eat-in was clean, as we're the toilets. If you like KFC, you won't be disappointed!

Cheap, moderately fast and so forth. Sadly the Colonel was not there to take me on a chicken picnic however one day... Edit : Heck go on then, 5 stars. KFC is nostalgia flavoured happiness in a cardboard bucket to be fair. I think even the colonel would suggest not eating too much of it (Alas something his countrymen have yet to learn) however its a decent little KFC - now they just need to add a time machine for those 1980s ribs again.

Dirty ..trays with half eaten food left on the tables everywhere and people waiting longer than needed because there's a queue of delivery drivers huddling around the doors

If I could give zero I would. Ordered for a delivery with Uber eats. The delivery was late and then half the order didn’t show up. Rang to complain and staff member admitted that it was their fault they hadn’t given the pop to the driver. Told me there was no way to solve it other than me going to collect it. If I could’ve collected I would’ve done so in the first place. Absolutely disgusting.

The food was good the tables werent clean we had yo clean them forgwting our stuff would not suggest mcdonalds is better i was only at KFC bc mcdonalds was closed

Visiting here on a Tuesday, 11.30, just before college descended on it, it was nice and quiet. Ordering from a kiosk was the usual run around but eventually got there. Service comes via an employee at the till yelling your number across the counter. There aren't any pleasantries, not a hello, here's your order, thank you - just a take your order approach. OK. The meal itself (see pics and receipt for price) was OK- I didn't expect that ! It was quick service but for an empty place, I'd expect it. The chicken was hot, nicely cooked and quite delicious. The signature fries were a lot down. 36 fries - yes I counted them, a lot were end bits and small, not whole fries. They were "kid friendly temperature", which together with them being greasy and some nearly hollow, made me think they'd been lying in a heat box for a while. Tasty but too greasy for me. You also don't realise until you're half way through your meal, you have to go back to the counter and request napkins! A bit of a shame for the time of day and lack of customers. This was a missed opportunity to impress me to be a loyal customer returning time and time again. In summary, if your a KFC fan, then this is on par for you - if you're still waiting to be a convert like me, you'll have to wait a little longer to be impressed.

Went through drive through while waiting watch your staff throwing food around not one of them wearing there ppe hygiene is rubbish if you don't want food poison don't eat here

Popped in for a cheeky KFC cause let’s face it, it’s delicious. Was very disappointed as we waited to order our food on the screens. When through what we wanted and when we tried to pay it kept saying declined. We then went to the counter and was told that the contactless isn’t working. Staff where standing watching customer come in and try to order without saying anything at all. Not signs on the door upon entering or on the screens. Staff common sense needs worked on. And on top of that the prices are ridiculous. It’s fast food. Good way to loose customers. We went to McDonalds instead.

Service slow nothing ready waited time ridiculous to busy talking to each other then when asked for refund attuide on some staff is awful definitely recommended customer service training on some staff

Food looked like it had been thrown in the box. All the mayo was at one side of the bread bun and the bbq sauce was at the other end in a clump. The chips were luke warm and 40p for bbq sauce it’s free everywhere else. A staff member came out to take trays from the station where the bins are but seemed oblivious to the over flowing bins and dirty tables. Then when we left a staff member was outside the main door smoking. Absolutely last visit here they just can’t be bothered!!!

Some of my order was missing out of the bag. When I rang up they said they defo put the burger in. The bag hadn't been opened until I got home.

Not one single napkin or handwipe anywhere

I don't know what it is at the moment but this KFC never has Coffee or Tea on for some reason, not all people want a cold drink.

This place must be avoided at all cost drive through and you will be made to wait at least 25 minutes for your food to arrive and when it does it will be cold, no doubt staff doing just eats above visiting customers the place is a joke fast food you are having a laugh go to maccyds instead

Ordered through uber eats as priority service but took nearly hour to arrive and then chips was ice cold so inedible, the chicken on the burger was so dry the edges were hard and unable to eat it

Ordered salad, no forks. Complained to manager who was aware of no forks, but just didn't give a fork. Thanks Anthony.

I been going to KFC for years, but this will probably be one of the last times as the prices are out of control. I’ve pretty much always bought the Wicked Zinger Tower Box meal every time I go. I could swear I’ve never paid more than £10 for it, but just stopping here for lunch and it was £11.48! The meal itself is good, but it’s fast food at the end of the day, and it’s now at restaurant prices. The staff were polite enough, although there was a wait for the Zinger. I could never imagine going there all the time with the family at the current prices.

I didn't like it. 😕 dry chicken I couldn't eat it. Poor girl on the till seemed to be running all the counters. I wouldn't go back

Second time I’ve tried to eat here and both times no chicken available so went elsewhere. Very odd for a KFC. One reason for consistently poor reviews.

Nice, well cooked and hot food but it took twenty minutes

Rubbish staff. Sat at till over 20mins waiting to place order. All staff are ignorant. Il go to mcdonalds instead

Dont go to KFC that often but i can not believe that people pay those prices. I paid £8.99 for a meal that was only fit for a 5 year old (the smallest portion of fries i have ever had). so i am marking this down because of that. If you do not mind paying the rip off prices then go ahead.

Can be a bit slow to get through when busy but well worth it just to see Abbie 😁 Am sure they do their utmost to get orders sorted asap.

Called in for lunch, never again, the food in this place is awful, the chicken fillets were rock hard, the handful of chips what you get were cold, the chicken burger was terrible and the bun was very dry, dont waste your money, go elsewhere.

This is what I recieved as a portion of chips and popcorn chicken. Absolute disgrace, do not waste your money

Nice enough staff food always pretty good

The restaurant was understaffed so food was taken longer than usual. That said the meal was exceptionally good and the lady manager was so apologetic, a great visit considering the pressure the staff team were under

Very good. Met a polite gentleman who spoke to us very calmly and gave us the food. Bit of a wait time but generally a good experience. Would recommend.

It's a KFC, everyone knows what you get, this one is based in Consett on the Hermiston Retail Park very accessible from the main road and offers a great range of chicken products, I would put them mid range for value, best as a take away rather than on site consumption as the restaurant side is pretty basic, standard set up as for all KFC's

Got the salad it was 10 times better than blaydon tyne n wear

No ice-cream, no biscuits, kids disappointed...

Very quick & efficient service, staff were very friendly & helpful. Food was still hot when we got back home

The food was very good but the service wasn't. Not given a fork for cole slaw no napkins to be seen. Staff were generally rushed and I think the drive thru kept them too busy for caring about anyone dining in.

Food was good as usual, unfortunately if you go in you have a long wait to be served and just as long for your food. Delivery and drive thru have taken priority over sit in. Needs to be addressed

The food is overpriced, considering the portion size. Admittedly the drive thru was busy but it took a little over 20 minutes to receive my food. There is also no ice cream machine which isn’t great for children. I asked for one type of sauce on my burger but my request was ignored. The chips were barely warm and the amount was pitiful. However, my burger was nice, just a shame my sauce request was ignored. Dips are 40 pence each which isn’t a lot but they should be free considering my meal was £10, McDonald’s dips are free. Poor selection of drinks, none available with sugar. No pepper sachets available and no napkins were provided.

Orderd take out ay drive through,four piece chicken on the bone. no napkins given, no sauces offered. Food arrived hot only point. The chicken was dry as sticks, almost inedible. Very disappointed.

Got home fillet burger and bun looked older than China , bun stale and rock hard , filled burnt and chips rock hard , avoid this kfc drive through , too late to do anything when back home , insulted bin by putting the kfc in it .

We'd had issues here before. I ordered food a few weeks ago only to drive home and find that the order was wrong. I returned to the store and the food was replaced. Drive the seven miles home to find it was still wrong. Waste of time and money. The latest appalling experience involved waiting twenty + minutes for food. When we finally got it, the female who served us apologised for the delay and stated that she'd upgraded us to large fries as a result of the wait. When we checked the food, she hadn't. In fact, we had half a standard portion in the bag. I re-entered the store to find the staff member chatting to her colleague, with her back to the counter and, having waited to be noticed, I excused myself for interrupting her and asked her if the fries I had with me we're what she's call a large portion? She walked away, not to be seen again. No acknowledgement, engagement or apology. Gone. I'd had enough by now, so advised her colleague that, although I wasn't trying to be awkward, I needed to speak with the manager as I wanted the number of the franchisee to make a complaint. He went to get the manager, who never bothered to present themself. I told the staff member to forget it. The food was appalling. Dark brown, cold, dry and tasting of dirty oil. The sandwich had been thrown together and, considering the amount of times I saw service staff touch their mouth and nasal areas prior to handling people's food, I was in two minds whether to eat it or bin it. The coke was as flat as tap water. Unbelievably bad food, a filthy restaurant, shockingly bad service and an apparently apathetic manager. What more reason would anyone need to avoid this place like the plague?

Came to kfc ordered on the app the woman was awful and rude, said she would spit in somebody’s food me and my friends were the only customers in the building, told me I had to tell her I ordered on the app when she was looking right at my order and I was the only one waiting for an order, needs to have a better attitude when she’s talking to customers

Was handed a bag and tray of drinks but we had to remind them of All the missing items... Cutlery for rice box (handed Spoon that wasn't hygienically bagged just loose None of sources we ordered No pineapple with kids meal No mayo as requested None of our corn on cob There appeared to be a woman overseeing everything yest she bagged the food snd the rest of the poor staff had no idea where anything was!! Maybe train the staff and check what's going out to customers?

Good service and friendly staff as always, good location, basically what you'd expect of KFC! No complaints from me!

Me and my mam came for a quick bite of dinner. A young boy called max I’m guessing quite new was taking orders. This short sassy blonde haired women working along side him was quite frankly rude and very disrespectful. Other customers noticed her tone towards max and walked out shaking their heads. Not acceptable. Especially in front of customers! The poor boy had no faith in himself no wonder!!! Couldn’t ready her name badge she was too short

No chicken on the bone in a kfc. What on earth? Gave Mac Donald’s my money instead No chicken? Oh by the way no chicken in kfc, 20-30 minute wait????

Fast service; hot food and friendly to every customer. Love the Louisiana style chicken seasoning; always changing menu

The place was almost deserted- and no wonder! The floor was not only strewn with discarded food but more worrying for me (I have very restricted mobility and walk with the aid of a stick) was the fact it was like a skating rink! I nearly ended up on the floor a couple of times as it was so wet and slippery! My handbag, which I had stupidly put on the floor under the table was filthy and drenched. The food was just lukewarm and the popcorn chicken was rubbery. The staff don't seem to have a clue- they messed up an order for three meals and also only provided only two paper plates for the food, The final straw was when I asked for my grandchildren's ice cream- one with strawberry sauce and the other two with chocolate- and was handed one strawberry and one chocolate, I now understand why there was no parking at McDonald's but plenty of bays available at KFC!

Walked in today to tables and floors covered in crumbs and waste food .only a few people in and now know why ! Walked straight back out never to return

Look – KFCs should all be the same and the chicken pieces should all taste the same; but I could be wrong. I still go to this joint – because it’s a KFC after all. But part of me just does not feel at home with the taste of the chicken from here. I keep asking “have they changed the recipe or something?” It just doesn’t taste like your KFC should; it’s yuck the more I think about it. The Metro Centre KFC somehow tastes better. So – I must mark this branch down for its Quality. But as a final nail in its coffin; I bought a “lady friend” a bucket a while back. I asked her how it was the next day, thinking she’d be pleased. She said “one of the pieces was raw!” So – Consett KFC – you are risking closure. Sort yourself out!

When our food arrived (eventually), the order was all wrong & cold. When I tried to explain the issue to the staff they just looked as if they didn't care . We won't be back again.

Had a family bucket with sides of beans .the chicken was raw pink threw out ,more bones than meat,to top it all bit in to a piece where oil poured out of it and soaked chips....disgusting .never again ....

We've been a few times here & it's a very good kfc , polite staff , clean throughout & delicious chicken ...what more could you want .

Seriously.. fast food yeah,it is what is and we all know it serves a purpose. The lass on the till was lovely but I'm YET to have my order given correctly. Always something missing, always something wrong. The staff are clearly in there getting a cheque. and care zero for customer service. Abysmal. WE NEED A DIXY CHICKEN UP HERE. Simple as

Visitamos el sábado para comer ya que eran fuera de la zona. Cuando fuimos no estaba muy ocupado ahora no por qué. Las patatas estaban frías el pollo debe estar condenado no tiene sabor y los aseos. Eran simplemente repugnante tuve algunos gel satisfecho en mi bolsa de mano. No aconsejaría un viaje aquí ciertamente no regresaré a buscar otro lugar para comer en vez de KFC.

We went to this kfc for the first time since moving to the area as our previous one {in Nottingham} had been very good, how different it was, i asked what they could suggest but the girl was totally disinterested, when we got the order it was more or less thrown at us, on entering the shop i nearly slipped on dirty food on the floor, the meal was cold and dry did not appear freshly made. We will not be going again

A mis hijos les gusta KFC, así que estoy obligado a soportar ocasionalmente, pero el servicio aquí es absolutamente terrible cada vez. La porquería constantemente órdenes y te tienen esperando y siempre mira disgustado que tienes la pura mejilla a interrumpir sus conversaciones, que terminar antes de que te sirva.

Pensamos que tenemos un kfc porque ninguno de nosotros podía ser molestada de cocina.

Nuestra familia normalmente disfrutar de comidas kfc en otros restaurantes de todo el país, pero incluso en otras partes del país. Esta rama en particular parece significativamente peor que otros- el servicio es casi siempre pobres, con el personal apenas viendo lo que están haciendo. Es tenía que convertirse en una aparición regular para llevar la comida a un lado antes de salir y de doble control que nuestra orden es correcta.

Fuimos al cruzar en coche y me dijeron que no tenían ninguna pollo? Parece extraño para un restaurante de pollo, hemos estado antes y arreglado para comprar algún pollo y grasosa y mucosa, el personal es brusco y desagradable, parece demasiado caro para la comida rápida

Excelente servicio con todo el personal siendo tan cortés. Nos encanta la flamin envolturas y pide siempre salsa extra. La mayoría del KFC, vamos a no saben cómo hacer que los añadidos correctamente. Nunca pan tostado, etc. y casi sin salsa. Mantener el trabajo Branch Consett

We often get food from KFC especially when I cannot be bothered to cook. We never eat in although always appears empty. The food has always been of a high standard although we only ever order the boneless bucket. This is through choice although if you could actually see/digest the menu board prior to arriving at the order kiosk may way order something different. The drive through appears to have been a last minute thought and therefore space is very limited but to have the only menu board where the orders are taken appears in my opinion an after thought. I agreed a menu does need to be here in case you forget your order but possibly at a distance where it can be read as at the moment appears to be a lovely bird perch. God help the staff when the drive through is busy as the fast food element will be lacking as the whole process is delayed further whilst you read the menu. May I suggest an additional menu being placed upon entering the drive through that is readable in the event of a queue and so that it can be read whilst a staff member is not breathing down your neck.

KFC is my favoured fast food. However during a couple of visits the staff service in the Consett branch is not to the standard experienced in other KFCs. Despite there being numerous members of staff, they are not as friendly, usually have to wait for food, tables are not always clean and the chicken is not as well cooked or the usual amount of lettuce and mayonnaise on the burger.

No standards, I can't believe the brand allows this. Service is a joke. Well there is no service. Made to feel like a nuisance for visiting. waiting in a question of 4 people for 15 minutes! And the food was not what I expected from a KFC! I will not visit again!

Nice place never very busy but the chicken is delicious, and you can get family buckets or individual meals, have a try its good.

This was the first time I had visited this particular KFC and was surprised how empty it was in there at one stage there was only myself and my grandson in there, the food was as expected for a KFC

The staff in Consett branch are shockingly bad every time I have been they get the order wrong or they don't have chicken lol in a KFC or cooking to order so have to wait for ages for fast food I have told my family I will not go for them ever again. I have complained to them before and had free meals but it makes no difference.

visited this kfc restaurant on sat 1st feb, the staff in here need to go on a course on how to be polite to customers , the girl what served me was very abrupt, when me and my husband sat down to eat our meal we opened our side order which was beans, they were cremated in the tub, my husband took them back to get them changed only to wait for ages until he had to shout over to the staff , the staff could see him standing but ignored him, the meal itself was average , we wont be visiting again , it will be mcdonalds in the future where the staff know how to deal with there customers properly.
