Kfc in County Durham

Food ordered and collected as staying at a Hotel down the road hardly any distance, arrived cold - tasted extremely salty never had this saltiness before at a KFC I had a rice box and some buffalo bites just didn't taste right so left some of it. Ate this then was vomiting 3hrs later and upset stomach too, felt unwell for a couple of days after. Another lady at the Hotel we stayed at said she had had issues with that particular restaurant too. Personally wouldn't go here again when in the area, has put me off KFC .

No counter payment option I had 3 small children and two adults and forced to use the self payment kiosk.It was a nightmare the order was basic preset options so very limited to change.I wanted to change a drink on the meal option and ended up paying for two drinks . The children and i don't like the dusting on chips but no option to change it.The staff were very unhelpful and to be perfectly honest I paid over £35 and the food was just warm and tasteless.I wouldn't recommend this place just for the lack of staff.

Amazing customer service, food tasted great! We went for lunch and had a very enjoyable experience, the mini fillets were 10/10 and the gravy is the best I’ve tasted!

Had meal for one £9.49 ,IT WAS so dry could not eat it, it had been left to long, chip's if that what you called them over cooked, will say bottle water was good, IT was take out iff had eat in would have taken it back. NEVER TO RETURN

Disgusting customer service and management is even worse think staff here need to retrained in what it is to be in the customer service business. Clearly lack the ability of putting customers first and quality. Disgusting way to be. Standards here are low what a shame

Ordered a Boneless box for 2 costing £20. Home is less than 5 minutes away. Food was cold. Fries were overcooked and some burnt black. One chicken piece was broken in two. Choice drink not available. Reheating the meal made me ill. I feel we were given a cancelled oder that had been lying around as it was ready before we got to the window. Never had cause to complain in the past, but will not be using them again. A fast food take-away to be avoided. Complained to the website 2 days ago. Not had the common decency to reply to me.

Walking in from a cold outside to a just as cold KFC Big plus they had numbered cards at the self service machine 1st time in 3 weeks "grandkids like it" ordered food then then had to go and ask for receipt then waited shivering to warm up!!!! For food coming 😋 delivered pleased I had asked for print out trying to sort out individual meals . Food warm at best. Went to collect ice cream for youngest sorry we don't have any machine still broken it needs a part ahahah same as last week . 😅 OK will have a white choc cookie got a milk choc cookie ahahah told kids never again slow service staff interested in each others conversation and not costomers this place needs a shake up

Went through the drive through and first of all struggled to understand the person on the intercom, once we managed to get the order in was told to proceed to the window to pay, we did this then told to move to next window to collect food, Once at the window was told to park up as food would be a while? KFC? QUICK food, after 10 minutes of waiting I went back to see what was happening and told the food was still being cooked, waited another 5 minutes and finally got food that was over cooked and basically flung in to a bag, Disgraceful service

Staff rude I was at drive through 11:30 1/11/23 if a manager sees this sort ur staff out can’t even do basic things never coming back

Terrible in every way. Order was incorrect, the food cooked to a crisp and barely warm and the toilets filthy. The only decent thing was the WAY OUT …… Never again ..

I have had two bad experiences with this KFC recently so it’s safe to say I won’t be going back. First experience 22.03.2023… "The door bell rang and when I opened the door the driver had left the food on the door step and was driving off in his car. Not very sanitary but no big deal. When we opened the bag we were missing two full means and a coleslaw. I tried to ring KFC and got diverted to a voicemail service stating that if I have any issues with Just Eat I need to contact them directly. I paid £2.49 for delivery and a service fee of £1.83 and didn't receive the food I ordered. The agreement was for four meals and only two turned up. Also I didn't get to enjoy the food that had arrive because I spent a good hour driving to KFC to try to sort out your mistake. If Just Eat's policy is just to do nothing when a representative of their company ruins someone's meal then unfortunately, I will not be giving you my business in the future. Second experience. Supercharge didn’t arrive. I called up to complain and the young gentleman worker who answered the phone said they can’t do anything about it because the delivery is with a third party. He then went on to say they didn’t put my source in because all of the staff at KFC are stupid.m and hung up. Which seems a fairly true statement if you ask me. I now understand what KFC stands for. Kentucky Fried Check you orders.

Omg how dirty is this restaurant. Ask someone to clean a table and they do not want to out their hands in water. Chips and food everywhere. No one cleaned in a long time.

No complaints about the food, but when it takes half an hour for your food to arrive, it's hard to give even a one after been here. It took one girl in glasses to come round the tills to get things sped up, she was the one bit of credit I would give. The staff otherwise seemed all if they were all new starters as they didn't seem to know what they were doing and spent too much time just talking amongst themselves.

Everytime I come here it's a mess, dirty toilets, floor full of rubbish, bins not emptied and tables full of rubbish as nowhere to put it. Dirty tables and chairs, the photos are at 7pm and it is empty, same last week and it was worse than this. The staff don't care.

The food was great but unfortunately that’s where the good news ends. Only one staff member was both taking orders and serving food so you can imagine the queues. This was also during the school holidays. The state of the restaurant was absolutely shocking. I’ve been in cleaner public toilets. Will not be returning.

Terrible experience! We visited on Saturday for lunch, I ordered on the App but the order didn’t go through having checked at the till. I made the order in person at the counter, however there was a problem putting it through so the lady serving me had to go and get someone else to try. This seemed to take an age, the staff unprofessionally showed their anger at the system they were using. The restaurant was absolutely freezing! The food took a while to be served. I had to go and ask for serviettes at the counter as there was none to be seen. I was told that there was none left, has anyone tried eating a KFC without having a serviette to hand, I wouldn’t recommend it. The food was ok, just. The gravy was cold, chips were soggy. The tables aren’t cleaned down often, not one was on our visit. There was food all over the floor. Avoid!

Twice I used kfc in dragonsvil Durham this week, something I don’t usually do. Once we sat in and the staff were the slowest staff I’ve seen in a fast food establishment. Waited far too long for a place that had four other customers in. Even two deliveroo drivers had to complain to the staff as to where the orders were, and stated that its them who get it in the ear and are given a bad name. The tables were dirty and had to be cleaned by myself and as for the internal bins, over flowing they were ! I will be informing Environmental Health tommorow morning. On to my experience of their service today; Food ordered via deliveroo, Trilogy box and regular popcorn meal ordered and arrived with food missing and cold. Rang kfc to be informed I’m to get intouch with deliveroo! It wasn’t deliveroo who put the order together it was the staff at kfc! I do not pay over 15.00 for food missing and cold to be told there is nothing they can do and I’m to request a refund which will take up to ten days to receive. What about being sent the food I ordered tonight? Tried to contact deliveroo to no avail. All options are is to apply for refund Disgusted in KFC standards and won’t be eating there again and will be reporting them to Environmental Health as this is now actually the third time I’ve been given poorly cooked or poorly presented food.

Take this from an ex employee at kfc. This place is absolutely SHOCKING, the staff get treated with the upmost DISRESPECT, they are treat and spoken to like sh*t, the managers do absolutely nothing, they fail to follow COVID guidelines, staff aren’t informed by the managers when there is a case of COVID in the store, it is found out through rumours, staff aren’t sent home when they are showing signs off Covid, the thermometer has been given away so staff can’t actually check there temperatures when feeling ill. the customers are sometimes mocked by the managers, including disabled people, food can be sometimes undercooked and left without being dealt with, there is no face mask or gloves policy, staff aren’t informed if there is a problem with there pay, they are simply left to ‘deal with it’ staff are messed about with there shifts and made to work during family problems or mental health problems, they would rather have an easy shift than care for the health of there staff, this place is absolutely obsurd and anyone looking for a job here trust me, do not...

Came in to grab some food whilst staying in the area for work. The delivery drivers for companies such as Just Eat and Deliveroo didn't seem to care about social distance measures and staff didn't tell them otherwise and some of the KFC seemed more interested in arguing. The girl girl who served me was friendly and polite and the food was cooked to a good standard.

Went here last week. Half of the restaurant is closed off for “delivery drivers” which is ridiculous and means anyone wanting to dine in are packed together in one small eating area. Despite signs around cleanliness and Covid the eating area is in a shocking state. Tables are dirty, food is on the floor. No attempts by staff to even clean the area at all, never mind in between each customer. The food itself was passable, not particularly hot and the size of the fillets in the boneless banquet have shrunk significantly. I won’t be hurrying back

Food was OK but no one in here was wearing a mask and the tables were not only filthy but there was no attempt by the staff to clean them. I got out as quickly as possible. Complete breeding ground for covid-19. I would avoid going inside if you can help it.

Called in at 5pm on a Wednesday - little bit of a queue - no one (except me!) wearing masks at the ordering area getting takeaways, people hanging around waiting for food no distancing, signs showing distancing and closed seating areas being completely ignored, some staff ignoring the plastic screens at serving areas which must be there to protect them and us. Some of the seating areas has had screens installed to separate into booths/areas and that seemed like a good idea. It's almost like 'corporate' KFC have provided a load of stuff to make it COVID secure and the local staff are ignoring it. The food: wings were terrible, greasy, over cooked, chicken was OK, fillets were good. Boris was paying half so price wise it was good value.

Worse KFC restaurant I've ever been to. Used drive through and ordered our food. The bag of food was sealed with a sticker stating Order checked. Obviously not as we were 3 pieces of chicken missing, neither of the two side orders were in the bag. What we did receive was cold and fairly tasteless. Portion size of the chips was tiny. I'm sure this place is only open due to the lack of a McDonald's within 5 miles.

This was a drive thru order and sadly the errors weren't found until we were further away with no time to turn around and rejoin the queue. We didn't get the food we ordered, and food was clay cold, the drink was wrong and the whole experience disappointing. I had to remind the person behind the window to give me my drink.Unappetising.

You pay for drinks staff think they can give you food then tell you your not geting your drinks for 20 mins

Well kfc does lovely food and staff are friendly . But when your food comes sometimes you are missing something so you should check to see what you have ordered and if everything is there. Except from that you should visit the food is nice .

Visited this KFC twice in February. On the first occasion the chicken was ok, chips were dry and bland and the staff were extremely rude to each other, very uncomfortable for the customers. On the last occasion the chicken pieces were very disappointing. Ordered 6 pieces bucket, no drumsticks, two pieces were mainly bones covered with batter. Will not go there again !

Had just picked my daughter up she works in a well known shop in same retail park she works odd shifts. Thought I would treat her with a kfc ordered a boneless banquet meal for one with a soft drink and a regular popcorn chicken with a water. There was no que no other vehicles waiting and no customers in side ( shud of taken notice of warning signs) any way from ordering to actually receiving food took sixteen minutes and I was parked not another customer came through. I tried to tell my self at least it will be cooked fresh and hot as l was late to pick daughter up.WRONG chicken pops like cardboard Pepsi flat as a (witches) chicken filletes slime batter no sweet corn chips inedible pleased l was just round corner STRAIGHT BACK SEE YA WOULDNT WANA EAT YA.

Toilets filthy dirty walked in and walked back out the door without ordering, would not recommend it to anyone.

They need to chance the staff...they don't send the food correctly...the Lipton wasn't a Lipton was just a color water with a lot of ice cubes..

It is hard to think where to begin with this review as everything about our visit was an unmitigated and avoidable (by the staff) disaster.

The burger tasted great but the whole place was let down by just how dirty it was. the tables were sticky and covered in other peoples left overs. (yes people should clear there own table but surely someone is checking these things)

Floors dirty, tables sticky and dirty, old food left lying around on floors tables and chairs, bins overflowing, flies all over, stunk of stale grease, dirty restaurant. Sticky dirty door handles, greasy hand prints on glass where children been sat, awful first impression. Never go back again. Thought this was supposed to be a restaurant to eat food. Thoroughly disgusted. Not recommending to eat food there, its so unclean you'll end up catching something.

don't blame any individual staff as places can often be understaffed, but it is not acceptable that the floor is covered in bits of food and rubbish. I mean people make a mess but it's everywhere. I haven't seen a single member of staff cleaning while I've been here. The food was good but yeah cleanliness is a major concern

So far as the food goes it’s fine ,typical kfc however the last couple of times we’ve been in to eat the restaurant was untidy and dirty with food over the floor and tables left with food on them with no staff about to clean up,granted it was a weekend and quite busy but customers shouldn’t be left to clean tables so they can sit down

Some places have an atmosphere that makes you want to hang yourself.Scruffy table tops, filthy floors and dirge-like Christmas music.There can't be any reason to keep the recipe secret any longer from what I tasted.To make things worse the coffee machine was out of action.Happy Christmas

Staff were friendly. The place was clean and the food didn't take long to come. I can recommend all the food but I especially get the almighty bucket for one. Just wish you could get beans with it

Food was good and the kids enjoyed the mini-fillet bucket / feast. I popped into the gents toilet at the end of the meal which was a grim experience: watch the scene in the film "Trainspotting" where he goes into 'the worst toilet in Scotland' and this will adequately prepare your expectations!

Called in the other day for lunch with my son, how cold does the place need to be. Yes it was December but it was actually warmer outside than in the place. No heating could be felt what so ever, also heard several other tables complaining of the same thing.

Popped in with the family and had a boneless banquet meal. The girl who took our order was friendly and polite. The two people who served us our food looked like they wanted to be anywhere but work. Had to ask for our bottle of coke, as they didn't put it with our order. Then needed to get drinks cups myself. After sitting at a fairly clean table I realised they hadn't give us any of the dips we ordered, so had to return to the tills to ask for them. No apologies from staff. Our chips were cold, and the 8 boneless pieces were actually 7 pieces of chicken and one lump of batter. Toilets were fairly stinking also.Now we've been here several times before when it's been much busier and not had any issues, so can't understand why on this occasion it was fairly poor.

Called in mainly because the Pizza Hut was apparently closing - it was 21:00 pleased it was as the service and friendliness of the staff was first rate - the chicken wasn't bad either!

Decided to pop into KFC on a Sunday evening for something quick and tasty. The first thing that hit us was that it was colder inside than the 7 degrees it was outside. Only 3 of us in the queue so we wouldn't wait long we thought. Order taken quickly, good.... and then we waited, and waited. 10 minutes later and we were all still waiting for our food. A guy came in from the drive thru, he had the wrong order. He was the only one at the drive thru! Then one of only 2 diners in the restaurant took his food back. The order was wrong. After 15 minutes the other parties had got their food - as one lady said, after a 20 minute wait! We were still waiting as the beans had another 6 minutes to go! We asked for the food to go, instead of eating in as we'd planned, as we were now so cold and fed up. We were offered free ice creams as we had had to wait, no thanks guys, we were cold enough! Finally got our food and took it home. To be honest it was inedible, except the beans! The fully loaded meal had a piece of slimy chicken, cold chips and the fillet tower burger had a piece of chicken in with no flavour and an unpleasant texture. It went in the bin. The box for one had cold chips and dry chicken. It also went in the bin. Had we not been so cold we'd have gone back and said something. As it is we have learned our lesson, we won't go back and eat there again.

Went for a drive through and on first impression was not good. Staff unkempt and rude, very grubby uniforms and poor hygiene. On receipt of the food once checked it had the wrong order, when pointed out staff were rude and indifferent. Worse still one bite and a long blonde hair was found in a chicken wrap, chips were cold and soggy rhe whole meal went in the bin. Certainly wouldn't go again and has put us off KFC though we have been to others in the UK and abroad and not seen anything like this...

I admit that I love my KFC, so it wasn't a hard choice between KFC and Pizza Hut.This is a standard KFC restaurant, the service was good, the food enjoyable.

I like the odd KFC. This one was really really busy and noisy. Quite a long queue. The guy who took my order was friendly. The server not so much. I asked for a replacement for the chips with my meal - fancy that - she got it wrong and told me noone told her - instead of just saying sorry and sorting it. I resisted the temptation to argue even though I could see the order clearly displayed on the large screen behind her head.My Burrito was not as nice as usual.Wife's meal was not great - just not as nice as usual.Won't be going back to this one.

It's a KFC, a fast food outlet that is just that; you cannot expect 5 star cuisine! That said, you do expect decent customer service and clean tables/ chairs/ toilets.Let down on all counts. How difficult is it to meet and greet with a smile?Or take an order and get it right?And clean a table do it is free from grime and grease?Clearly it is incredibly challenging, as it was a monumental failure on all counts!Everyone behind the counter - about 4 of them (yet one takes the order...slowly whilst 3 cock up the order!) looked miserable and made NO effort to smile or even use eye contact when serving.Ordered 2 Pepsi drinks and a fruitshoot - got 3 Pepsi drinks. Ordered 2 meals and a child's meal, missing fries - and a gravy instead of beans (at least that's what I think it was...but to be fair with the amount of grime and grease, if could easily have been the contents of the waste tray!And as for the ice cream and 2 creme balls...I wish I hadn't bothered. The boy operating the machine clearly needed a license to walk and talk let alone operate machinery...it clearly had the better of him!Over 10 minute wait for the whole order to be placed in front of us - then another 10 sorting out the drink order. Not one apology, please or thank you. In fact one girl practically sneered as she threw trays on front of customers (That is an exaggeration as that would suggest speed...which was NOT the issue!)When I asked for a fruitshoot I was told I had been given one...as she looked at the 3 large pepsi drinks - yes, the blackcurrant drink bottle was in disguise. She smirked as she banged it on the counter top. Watching a girl 'wiping' down a table but walking passed two left trays crowded in rubbish, showed staff simply don't care. The tables are greasy and have a sheen of fat Where is the monitoring of this place? It's the only KFC I've been in, but it runs nothing like the 'restaurants' covered in the BBC series about the franchise!If you fancy chicken...Tesco around the corner has a hot Deli counter!

Food was standard KFC so couldn't be faulted however the restaurant was absolutely filthy with food all over the floor, ketchup and mayo smeared on chairs and tables etc. Completely put me off dining here again.

Horrible just horrible! That's all I can said. I walked in and regretted straight away! The smell of fat and grease! The tables were dirty! I only went in to buy a coffee and take my son to the toliet! The toilets were smelly and dirty and safe to say I will never return to this KFC.

I don't expect 5 star service at KFC, just 2 stars would do!! I'm not a regular visitor but whenever I've been to this branch the service has been shocking and it's usually a mess inside. Next time I want a fast food hit, i'll be going elsewhere. Shame as the chicken is always good but I think you need to have a certain standard of cleanliness and customer service skills in order to keep your customers and this branch just doesn't seem to have it!

Got a 2 piece variety meal when i bit into the soaked chicken fat shot out onto my chin jumper and the tablenever before have i had a piece of chicken with that much fat shoot out then i noticed there was no fillet piece in so went to the counter and told the lass she said yeah theres none ready but never mentioned this to me when i got my meal must just have thought i wouldnt notice then she said ill fetch you one over when theyre done ,anyway i finished all my meal in 20 min then finished what i was doing on the internet which was 10 more minutes and still never got my fillet and couldnt be bothered to go back over for a 2 nd time to complain and i didnt want to break up them working hard at talking to each other while the same crap was on the tables around me which was there a half hour earlier when i entered, lazy bone idle springs to mind

Many fast food outlets are much of a muchness. However, at this outlet I received a friendly greeting, quick courteous service, and good fresh food - all in a clean and pleasant environment. Will visit again when in the area.

It was horrible, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a week.Nobody's cleaned their tray away and it had lots of chips and food all over the floor and none of the tables were clean!!!!!DISGRACEFUL!!!!!!!!!

From a fast food restaurant i expect my food, quickly and to a good standard, not excellent.my expectations were exceeded when my food arrived before i had finished paying, on top of that it was hot and the food looked great. thanks kfc

Dropped in for lunch. I'm a fairly regular visitor to this particular KFC and am usually quite happy with the service but on this occasion I couldn't have been further from happy.The guy who served me (Stephen I think - never seen him in there before but boy has he got an attitude. Over-confident and in many respects looking down on the customer in an 'I'm better than you' kind of snooty way) was more interested in trying to sell me extras and getting me to give my details to KFC via an online 'survey' than listening to my request. I asked for tomato sauce with my meal. When it wasn't on my tray I went to ask but was rudely cut off by him, firstly by him completely ignoring me then secondly by him telling me he was serving someone else. I hadn't cut in on his conversation as he was waiting for the customer's card payment to go through and wasn't interacting with the customer at the time. If he'd had served me correctly in the first place I wouldn't have had to return. I don't think he got that particular fact. Eventually he reached under the counter and tossed the sauce rather rudely onto my tray. I just looked at him. As I walked away he said 'Thank You' in a condescending tone, which I didn't rise to but simply went to find the 'cleanest' table I could to consume my order. Frankly, he didn't deserve a thank you. His attitude and manner stank. The tables on this occasion were a disgrace. You could see they hadn't been wiped (greasy) just cleared of most of the debris from the previous occupant.The food on this occasion again wasn't up to scratch either with my chicken having not been drained properly of cooking fat and it dripping out when I bit into it. Half-term rush? Maybe, but that's not really an excuse for sub standard food, filthy surroundings and arrogant staff.Has it put me off going there? Damned right it has. Why should I hand over my hard-earned just so some arrogant young man can look down his nose at me? Ok it's only a KFC for goodness sake but that's not the point.
