KFC in Torbay

We ordered our food and it came sloppily presented . After looking , my drink was wrong and when I went to change it, the staff were rude and ignorant. I sat down and my mum noticed they had forgot her cheese that she paid extra for so she went to collect it. Again, the staff were really rude and after asking for cheese , they actually handed her a slice of cheese with no gloves on. My food tasted off and now, 6 hours later I’m throwing up uncontrollably. I have eaten nothing else and I haven’t been in contact with anyone else. Appalling.

This is the third time iv been served a cold flaming wrap. Come on guys sort it out. Don't think that ill be coming back here again.

Clean for a fast food place. Food was hot and fresh. Lady behind counter was pleasant. Tho asked for nice ice in drinks and got it anyway but only small amount. Obviously improved since all the bad reviews.

I am local so I go there quite often and I always get same and never anything wrong. So I went today in there to get dinner for my fussy little eater, always take popcorn chicken meal with fruit shoot for him… and chilli bites… first person serving me was proper antisocial, couldn’t understand word was saying and needed repeating few times… also talking so quietly and looking away… probably thinking why you here go away… that was worst service ever… no please no thank you no smile nothing… anyway paid for my stuff just wanted get out… same person was preparing my order… so after we sat down to have a drink in near pub, while I can only do that if my kid is eating (this time didn’t get my 15min peace for quick drink)… opened bag and there was no meal I ordered… meal my kid is eating each time… instead of popcorn chicken was some snack box, there was no fruit shoot either and got 3 chicken chilli bites 🤷‍♀️ honestly if was not my baby’s meal wouldn’t leave review as I was always ok with everything ordered there but how hard is to mess up 2 things I ordered… I get customer service as I was working in hospitality as well but being like this you might as well get some other job really as I don’t think this is right place for you… I am foreign but live in uk nearly 10 years and don’t have problem with communication but this today annoyed me… but never mind another day tomorrow… maybe person serving me just had bad day 🤷‍♀️

Cold chips. Are the staff not trained properly????????????????????????? Filling up remaining characters.

Had delivered. Good time and nice delivery lady. That’s it. Very cold. Chip portions absolutely disgusting. They wouldn’t have dated fish this out if we were there in personWho the hell things it’s good business to dish out embarrassingly undersized portions, and cold at that. Missed BBQ dips paid for. Tried to call but no one would take the call. How do I complain ?If it were my franchise I wouldn’t expect to receive repeat customers after dishing this out, even if it has the KFC name. In summary…. Cold, rip off portions, charged for items not received, and no customer service. Off to Newton Abbot next time… very good reputation.

Went to kfc to get some lunch very quickly whilst we were out getting school bits. When I went in there, there was quite a long wait but we sat waiting for our number to be called. When the food arrived I was watching the cleaner he couldn’t do enough. He was cleaning the tables chairs edges of the table the bins and doing such a thorough job. Everywhere was so clean and what with the current pandemic he really was working hard. I went up to him and thanked him and again such a lovely gentleman his name began with an R can’t remember as we were in such a rush but thank you!

Service was mediocre at best. When I asked for 2 unavailable items be refunded the young lady serving her attitude became very apparent she was pissed off slamming a gravy pot into a bin. Not what you expect from staff.

Whilst on holiday we visited the KFC in Paignton. There was a queue for the drive through but it didn’t look to long so we joined it. Big mistake!! After a 40 minute wait we ordered our food. The two 3 piece chicken meals were satisfactory, we also ordered a Mayo burger which was stone cold! My husband took it back and they gave him another one which was the same, he demanded one from the kitchen which was still the same. We left with a refund and no tea for my daughter! Needless to say we didn’t return for the rest of our stay, avoid!

I live near so have used this store probably around 10 times in the last 2 years. I have to say the worst service I've ever come across.Probably 8 of the ten times the order was wrong. Less than 100 iq between all the staff

Came here first week of sept , we treated our two grand kids to little snack , tables clean food good, but when I took my grandson to toilet que and most of them in the que was from over the road cafe apparently they haven’t got a toilet so they send them over to use kfc ?? Great this was the only problem we had eventually was able to use toilet but was left dirty , I didn’t know that kfc allow other cafes to use there toilets , will take that on board next time

Took a guest and was impressed by the portions and quality of the food. My guest enjoyed her meal a great deal. Very tasty !

The place needs a deep clean and the staff need to keep on top of keeping the tables clean and pick up the mess from both the overflow of the bins and around / under the tables.The food wasn't the best it was full of grease and soggy.And you really would only go to the toilet in the event of a emergency because they were filthy.

One of the better KFC's I've visited, clean looking both in restaurant and kitchen side and the food was hot and freshly cooked and served quickly. Did get couple drunken weirdos coming in and out singing but not much can do about that and weren't bothering customers other than bit of noise but may be bit upsetting to younger children.

Went in to get a bargain bucket when got there there was staff stood around like stunned mutants while one was running around like a idiot slow service place looked like a bomb has gone off when got chicken home looked like some of it had escaped from torquay crematorium this place should be closed down or a vist from the health team

Why change your chips from fries to chunky ones that had skin on and and tables were dirty toilets had someone’s dna poo 💩 not flushed poo 💩 on the door handles on toilets

We visited early evening, the place was empty. Sat down and placed our order at the counter. Staff were not very attentive. The food was hot but very greasy(had not been drained) Food was hot but we were put off by the grease.

Slow service, dirty restaurant, overcooked chicken. Suspect dirty oil. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Just had a family feast...waited 25mins...staff incompetent.. chicken was dry and tasteless... chips cold...and incorrect sides...

On the way back from the cinema we called in at KFC. It was exceptionally clean. At 7.20 pm it was still busy but with plenty of available seating. We had short wait but the food was worth it. Reasonably priced. Helpful staff.

First of all I love KFC However I continue to be appalled by the slow and poor service. No one is in charge.No napkins, handwipes available.The floors behind the counter are always covered in food. The dining area is filthy, sticky with rubbish all over the floor. Disabled toilet not work.This is supposed to be relatively new but looks old and tired already because its led badly. The young stalls play and muck around behind the counter.The place was not busy so no excuse. Environmental health would have a field day if they walked in.It really is a shame

I am reviewing this kfc because it was so appalling filthy chairs and table the floor was the worst not enough staff to even clean the lobby. I had to go and ask the one and only young man on the counter for some cleaning spray to clean my own table. I felt so sorry for him having to serve and produce so many orders the screens were full of orders and at least 15 waiting for their food and just as many waiting to be served. 25 mins I waited for my food and I can’t blame the young lad he was doing his best and another young man came to help him and a customer who had been waiting for ages to be served asked if anyone was serving and the young man shouted back look at the screen I can’t right now with that the man and his wife walked out. It was absolute chaos in there I only saw 2 people in the kitchen. For a busy sea side town full of locals and holiday makers having only 5 staff on and working the poor guys to a point of not coping is not okay the place was rammed yet this store takes a lot of money so can afford to employ more staff knowing it would be busy they have store projections they would know what kind of sales projections they would get and staff Accordingly. I have never seen such a dirty fast food restaurant. Cups food tissues sauce everywhere bins overflowing all over the floor it was disgusting full cups of drink all over the floor. I can not believe management allow this to continue with minimal staff as this has been a issue for sometime. I will never go back into that store.

I visited twice in the past few weeks, tables were dirty and covered in mess. No condiments out just serviettes dumped on the counter in the brown bag they came in. One man (working hard) taking orders and serving the food whilst 4 other staff stood around chatting. Waited ages to order food and even longer to receive it.

We popped in for lunch today, ordered and sat down. There were many uncleared and dirty tables, no napkins in the server, my fries were close to uncooked and one of my hot wings i was unsure about so left it. The general appearance of the restaurant was shabby. My wife went to the toilet but came out appalled at the condition and dirtiness of them so we left and used the public toilet. I live in Torquay and am embarrassed that a town that lives on tourism gives this impression to those who visit.

I have been going to Torquay for the last 6 years and over the that time I have been in KFC I have enjoyed my previous visits on the week 22/6/2019 I visited KFC and was disappointed with the place bins overflowing and also lack of napkins forks etc staff has changed over the years and I am sorry to say so has the standards

Called into torquey KFC to get a family 12 piece chicken bucket, long way to go has Paignton KFC unable to get to but public transport, didn’t seem that busy ,

Where to start self order machines out of order! One till open, which was ok as hardly anyone in and now we know why.

I don’t know how to express how poor this place is. Ran out of sweet corn ran out of mixture for fizzy drinks so poured out of a bottle with 75% ice in cups to save money. Getting the order wrong twice. No clean tables also floor full of food. The ordering touch screens out of order. Queue to the door and having to wait 20 mins before being served to be told 5 mins on the chicken. Come on managers at this place my children love KFC and your not doing a good job.

We always enjoy KFC in London and we're hoping to enjoy it here. However the service at this branch was not good, the wait for the food was long. The cashier did not allow me to change the gravy in the megabox for sweet corn, despite this being allowed in he London branches we frequent. She gave attitude and said her manager does not allow it. On receiving our food we were not given any napkins, sauces of which we had to go back and queue for. The gravy was horrible and didn't taste nice.

KFC in Torquay and Paignton have miles gone down hill. I am very VERY disappointed. Gave KFC my full last chance today to proof that it would be better but let down once again. Under cooked chicken and half a pot of gravy. Service was slow and poor and under staffed. Messing up every time. Chicken was a mess and not even nice like it used to be.

We popped in with our boys and must admit we have seen a great improvement, the eating area was clean and tables cleared and our order was taken fast, we did not use the new touch pad ordering system as there is only two and both where occupied and the people where taking ages. We placed our order and our food was prepared in a short time, the food was really nice and hot so we was please it was a good experience and compared to the Paignton KFC, Torquay is so much better .

called one evening on our way back from Cornwall for a quick tea, the floor was covered in food,4 staff behind the counter looked like they could do with a good wash, got our chicken and chips,had to take the chips back,stone cold,replaced with fresh ones.terrible place.

How long would it take for these idiots to get your order right..? Whenever I get home, there is always something missing. They never put the amount you order in, it's always much less? Obviously swindling the customers. DON'T LET THEM RUSH YOU WHEN YOU'RE ORDERING YOUR TAKE AWAY, TAKE YOUR TIME AND CHECK EVERYTHING!

Food terrible bit into chicken burger was stone cold went back up and young blond hair women said can't exchange it an said I had food ages that why it cold then manger refused to help aswell

Twice in a row our takeaway was not right. On the first one they forgot the hot wings. We phoned up and the lady said they will give us what was missing when we order again. A few weeks later we came back and ordered another takeaway. We got the hot wings that they owe us but a piece of chicken was missing from our 6 piece family feast. We dont want to be rude and keep checking that what we ordered were all there but we may need to next time and everytime. They do look at the screen when they prepare your order but maybe some of them actually need glasses?! Twice in a row is very poor, very bad and very disappointing. Sort it out kfc.

Always a mess. Managers clearly have no idea what they are doing. Food is not consistent, sometimes cold. Toilets are awful. If you complain about anything you are basically told tough lUckfield.

It always runs out of chicken! People even phone the police saying how bad it is. Not a happy bunny :((

Love kfc it's a treat for myself. Our visit was after all the shops had shut so about 6pm town was quiet so was shocked at waiting time for everyone ordering here. The welcome was not great and when I ordered my food then used my loyalty card to get money off and a free extra. Was told i was to mention I was going to use my card before ordering which I understand of course if I'm not told I don't know but i could have been told rather than told off!! Waited for 15 mins for food, but then everyone was so don't expect to be treated any differently they are all working as fast as they can bar the girl taking orders. The meal was yummy as always felt for the people in line who were still queuing during the time I started and finished my meal. Maybe another girl in the front would be a good idea then the one serving wouldn't be under so much pressure and her attitude might be more smiley. Also they asked if we were eating in then blocked off the restaurant what's that about?.

Rude service staff, 20 min wait and terrible food- cold fries, no salt , sugar or cups, no bottled water, no coldsaw. Asked for mini fillet burger they said they had no small bread rolls just like the paignton early this week. What's going on?? Asked for a normal chicken burger 10 min wait you got to be joking. I hope they are not going out of business as they employ a lot of people. Managers should let people know what's going on.

Going to any KFC is always a bit of a lottery in my experience - it can be good or it can be awful.

Went in about 5pm to get some 'sharing food' to take away for a group of us. A couple of people working in the kitchen cooking and one guy on the front desk. He's taking orders, bagging chips, filling boxes with chicken for the orders. It takes 10 mins to get to the front of the queue (of only 4 people) to place the order. My order number comes up as Number 5 on the display and 20 minutes later I get it handed to me. On a scale of 1 to 10 the food was about a 4/10. Lousy batter on the original pieces & cold chips. Fillets were ok. Fast food it ain't, and quality KFC is not this Franchise's speciality.

Usually a quick & easy meal. But this time it was swimming in grease. Not much else to add really.... everyone knows what a KFC is. Maybe a bit of a refresher on quality control?

We love a kfc for a treat, however the torquay one is disgusting. we waited for 35 mins before we got our food. the chicken was small and dry. the tables were filthy, the floor was covered in food and napkins etc, then we used the toilet....absolutely disgusting! never again will we use that branch of kfc

While on holiday in Torquay two week ago I visited KFC on four occasions during my stay at the place was clean on each visit the food was very good and the staff was very nice and polite and if I visit torquay again I will not hesitate to visit KFC again

Visited here tonight was told couldn't eat in because we had ordered a bucket ? Why does that matter? So decided to take it back to the hotel which we then found the chips were raw and the chicken was cold very dissatisfied what a waste of money

Visited KFC fleet st sat 2.40pm,Que's outside the door,40min wait for chicken,customers were like animals,dropping food all over the floor,in seating area,which was not meant to be open,signs stating takeaway only,customers ignored signs,poor staff,running around like headless chickens,multi tasking bless em,not enough staff.gone down hill since moving.Won't visit again,warm food not hot.

Visited kfc in union street in Torquay last week on our visit to Devon exellant food ,fast service,nice staff and very clean toilets etc we would definitely dine here again

Went in at 10-30 when shutting at 11, they said there was no chicken left I asked if they could do some new and they said no, also said couldn't use toilets as they had cleaned for end of the day

Usually really enjoy KFC as a rare treat, but unfortunately the Torquay branch isn't very good. We ordered a family boneless banquet. The chicken was ok although you could tell it had been sat around for a while as it was quite dry compared to normal. The gravy was like water and tasteless. What really put me off was that the 4 portions of fries were all hard and under cooked. staff need some serious training if they can't even cook fries properly. unfortunately as we had it takeaway, we didn't realise until we got home. Otherwise I would have taken it back.

Our family love KFC. Just not this one. Looks nice from outside, but understaffed, and understocked. No sweetcorn! Had to wait 15 minutes once order was taken for it to be 'produced'. Great new style restaurant with an open frontage. Sit and watch the world go by, and get the fresh sea air that's coming in from the sea front.

KFC brukar vara en bra lunch variant till andra snabbmat ställen men detta var det mest smaklösa jag ätit. Fanns det kryddor på kycklingen så hittade inte vi den. Pommes var knappt friterade och kalla.

The meal itself was not bad but not overly impressed with the standard of efficiency or cleanliness. All seemed a little haphazard. Didn't go back.

A new premises just a few doors down from the smaller previous site. Food is good and the decor is obviously new. We've been he 3 times since it opened where service is good if a little slow. There is generally not enough staff on at peak times. We went yesterday where no staff was detailed to out front which meant the bins were over flowing, the customers then didn't clear their waste and therefore there was nowhere for new customers to sit. if management sorted this out the eating experience would be much better.

For a new Kfc it was filthy every table covered with food and a staff member just walking in on shift had to clean itcall up think her name was Vanessa.what a star. Other staff not even busy

All I can say is the service is disgusting, it took 30 minutes or more just to get a Krushums drink. One person serves then makes up the order, although I could see 6 people not doing anything. They ran out of a certain chicken, no coleslaw no ice cream. A customer behind me said it would be quicker if we served ourselves. I also ordered a hot chocolate which was cold !

Took ages to be served. When given food it was all chicken legs. No variety of pieces. I dont even like the legs. Was changed when we asked but we were looked at like we were a nuisance. Couldn't find anywhere clean to sit so went for least dirty table. Luckily i had cleaning wipes with me. Food was cooked perfectly but when we asked for some legs to be changed the new pieced were from a different tray so some pieces were nice and hot but others were cold. We had only gone to sit down so hope they are being kept at safe temperatures behind the counter. Toilets were awful. Most of us decided not to bother going in and used hand gel and serviettes as no wet wipes had been provided. 20 minutes after we arrived someone started to wipe some tables. Cigarette ends gad been trodden in on the mat and food all over the floor. Not cleaned while we were there. If this is the parts you can see i worry what state the cooking and preparation areas are like. Tasted fab but unless it cleans up would not return.

When we go to a fast food restaurant you don't expect to wait 12 min for your order..Very bad service!!We wanted something quick because we were in rush, but we and all other customers waited more than 10 min for our order, they should be prepared for rush hours

i ordered a take away 6 piece bargain bucket for my family with all the trimmings chips, drink, gravy, coleslaw and hot wings. when i got home alas! no chips! what a joke. this has happened to me before. they also forgot the chips. its disappointing.

I returned to this establishment this week and the cleanliness has improved there was someone wiping the tables which is brilliant however when I came to order my meal there was a problem,there where no buns in stock to put my fillet strip in I ordered 2 take 5 meals,surely the manager should order in items before they run out like any good manager should so items wouldnt be out of stock and not availible,on a good majority of my visits there appears to be a problem in this branch it needs improvement,the member of staff laura offered me the fillet without the burger though so I wasn't without my meal I was happy though please can the manager make sure that the items you need for meals are in stock so people can purchase the food listed.

All the people who have written bad reviews about the Torquay branch of KFC are simply wrong. KFC is amazing and this one is no exception to the rule. I went there today for lunch with my family. It was clean, the staff were friendly the queue went down quickly and the food was, of course, incredible.

Went to Paignton KFC today , haven't been for months....not going again. 22 minute wait to get served (3 people in front of us), not enough staff out front, the two that were obviously hadn't heard of customer service, they didn't really care if we were served or not. My wife had rice and pulled chicken, there was defiant;y rice in there but had to look hard for the chicken, over priced at £5.45. Fries had been out for ages when I asked for the Duty Manager I was told he was busy and would get to us soon...... he never showed. This branch has serious issues.

Last friday we went to the pantomine at the theatre, after decided to go for a kfc. It was 8.45pm quiet in town, and so there were only to 2 customers in the kfc eating. We were 4 undecided customersand took our time ordering, however the lovely cheerful and patient member of staff,Vanessa, smiled, answered questioned, suggested, and finally with a smile on her face took our order.All the time we were eating she was busy serving or cleaning, and took time to say goodbye and merry christmas, all without the prospect of a tip!!Thank you Vanessa, if only other assistants in other fast food outlet had your attitude it would enhance any visit. Lucky KFC, you have one of the best.

I have not had a KFC for a little while. We just fancied one. When we got it home it was very very greasy and looked like it had been cooked a few times by the appearance and the texture. Really did not enjoy it at all and certainly not worth the money paid. Put me off big style!

I decided to have a rice bucket,as I looked at the menu above the serving area, this consisted of rice, a tiny amount of pulled chicken or pork, and some salad and a drink. I paid £5.45 approx for this. Way over priced !!!!! for such a small meal.

Many of us know KFC for a very long time, it was a joy to go but now it's no longer a cheap place to eat and the set meals in my opinion has become terrible, despite that we all would go back to KFC at some point at any of the stores just because it's there, but come on KFC give us a better value for money, but this isn't a reflection on just this store but the company, so let's get to the review of this store.......On entering the layout didn't really look that good compared to some stores I've been in, and it's wasn't as clean as it should of been for a KFC, the staff where ok not the best but still haven't got an issue with the staff, some of the customers where rude and started to complain to one member of about the leak on floor from one of the bins where someone has thrown a carton in the bin still with drink in, this staff member only walked in through the front to start work and got the abuse from a customer, she handled her cool and the situation well, the food was ok, tasted better but also tasted worse......needs improving here that's the some of the customers but you can't help who comes in, tables need cleaning as well as the floor, don't think I sit in next time that's if I visit the area, but then again lots of other places to eat and try, you can get KFC anywhere and any time almost so try somewhere not these fast food shops....

Short wait to be served. Only one server taking orders. We were asked to sit at the table and they would bring the food over to us., which was fine. Took around 10 mins to arrive and when it did, the order was wrong. We didn't complain as it wasn't a major mistake, but clearly someone can't read orders correctly, and it wasn't busy and no one was rushing. Tables weren't very clean but the floor looked okay. Food itself was fine.

The largest number of reviews for this place are the "Terrible" category (and for good reason). Restaurant cold, food cold, lack of staff serving meaning a huge wait, bins not emptied and were overflowing on to the floor. Whoever owns this franchise needs a boot up the backside to get this place in order or perhaps (and more likely in my opinion) they just don't care! Go elsewhere to eat if in Torquay.

Ordered food was pretty quick as they were busy. We took our food home as there wasn't any tables spare/clean. When we got home only half our food was in the bag. Very disappointed. When we tried to ring up and explain we got cut off numerous times.

I was appalled when we visited this establishment. After a 16 minute wait for food I was a bit annoyed but I like my food so thought I wouldn't say anything then I realised they had forgot my bone in chicken so I went to the counter were I was ignored for another few minutes when I eventually got served my hot chicken was put on one of the paper plates as he was to busy to get me a bag I asked to speak to a manger and after much whispering between colleagues and another few minutes someone came out to see me without a name badge I might add. I explained my issues and was told if I filled out the review online I could save money of my next meal as a gesture of good will. I pointed out that I could get the same discount if my experience was good and she said there was nothing else she could do for me. Whilst this was happening I witnessed a member of staff use dirty trays to serve people their food I asked the manager who was stood right infront of me if she witnessed this as well to which she replied the staff would be disciplined for this however she did not stop the food from being served other customers who we're queuing saw what was happening and also left. So disappointed we have also contacted KFC head office and are in the process of contacting the franchiser himself.

I go to this eatery regulally and everytime the place is filthy and dirty why do they not have a cleaner out front like mcdonalds do,trading standards would be appalled.The food is good and value for money though the dirt on every visit in a food based enviroment is unacceptable as it has been this way for sometime,go if you like the food but dont go for the enviroment.

Being required to queue for 10 minutes to be served, I had plenty of time to observe just how filthy and unpleasant this place is. Were it not for the insistence of my children I would have walked out within a minute.Two -thirds of the seating was unavailable at 5pm for reasons beyond my comprehension. I can only assume that no table staff work beyond this time. The remaining handful of tables were both crowded and indescribably dirty. Not just superficially dirty, deep-down, sugar-and-grease encrusted grimy. In the twenty minutes I spent in this KFC I observed just three people working there. They were doing their best, and were pleasant enough to deal with, but the "investors in People" plaque (dated 1998) which proudly hung over the dingy counter told me that the management had clearly not made any effort to renew or even review their staffing in over 15 years.The same goes for the decor, which is universally dirty, damaged and dated. Even the ceiling tiles were grubby - and that would have taken some effort. Every fixture and fitting in this 'restaurant' ought to be put in a skip, or to be safer in an incinerator. Ironically the cleanest part of the building were the toilets in the basement. I realise that you get what you pay for in fast food joints, but that it no excuse for failing to provide the fundementals of hygiene. This is the only fast food joint I've ever walked out of feeling the need to change my clothes and have a shower.... if only the little 'hint of lemon' napkins came as whole body size cloths.

Regularly have kfc on saturday evening but so often have to wait for chicken??? I would expect to be available to order on saturday and then when its ready they serve with chips which have gone cold !!

take away whilst on holiday , so we knew what we were getting kids loved it and no bother finding somewhere to sit just went to a near by beach and away you go get view no noise and the food was great as well
