Waffle Inn Paignton in Torbay

Me and my friend have been going here for a few years and have never had a problem. However, we went last night after not going for a few months and it was awful. I am not sure if there are new owners or something but it was not good. I had a lotus flower cookie dough which looked like a flat burnt pancake. It was stuck to some baking paper and I had to shovel the cookie dough off the paper to eat it. It tasted like cardboard. Staff did not talk and we were the only ones in there. It was 6pm and they left the doors open and it was freezing in there and the smell of cigarettes and cannabis kept coming in. Moral of the story, we did not eat much of our food even though it is quite pricey. We won’t be going back anytime soon. They have lost loyal customers.

We would highly recommend Waffle Inn - service was friendly and great and the waffles were INCREDIBLE and very affordable. It was a wee treat on a rainy January evening! WHAT A GUY! Love Abi & Jess xoxo

Fancied some waffles and found this place, coffee machine wasn't working but good selection of alternative drinks. Build your own waffles, pancakes, crepes with a large selection of sauces, toppings etc

Absolutely spot on!! Ordered a lot for my family’s movie night and Waffle Inn completely out did themselves. Full of toppings, milkshake was incredibly fresh and deserts tasted delicious 😍

Took my girls to the waffle inn on Friday as an after school treat with my Friend and her little boy and the food was incredible very well presented and the milk shakes were beautiful too the staff are also well mannered and polite and served well with a good smile :) definitely recommend it if you enjoy Desserts

Very friendly welcome and Service from poppy, nothing was too much trouble. Had two small children and asked for two plates for one of the special waffles, she was so accommodating and put the waffle onto two plates. Kids loved it, lovely and warm ( bit not too hot) and generous fillings that’s tasted Devine! Coffee was lovely too! Great value for money. Thank you, we will be back and recommend to anyone to try this place, you won’t be disappointed !

I came in wanting dessert with friends. Bart served me. I asked what he would recommend and he recommended me a perfect desert for me. The desert was the best desert that he could’ve recommended, no wait for it, very accommodating and polite. There was a few of us and none of us was unhappy with his recommendation. 10/10.

Went to the waffle inn on 22.10.23 The place was nice and clean. My niece and I ordered biscoff waffle and Oreo waffle, and they were both delicious . Would highly recommend going there. Been to the likes of creams and kaspers and would say waffle inn is just a good if not better. Think they are reasonably priced and will definitely be coming again when I’m next down.

Ordered on just eat, a guy came on a push bike!!! We live in Torquay? Mental haha so was cold and hard, not worth the money sadly :(

Our experience of The Waffle Inn was great. The staff were friendly and the plant based waffles were delicious! We visited with our dog and they came over with some peanut butter for her and a bowl of water, which was really kind.

Worse place in Paignton don’t go here waffles wasn’t cooked wasn’t busy took ages for my food to come and when it did it was cold very disappointed and upset been here twice and always problems place is a Joke.

Absolutely worthy of 5 stars. Amazing waffles , really delicious, super helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to make our party of 9 feel welcome, food all delicious and delivered to table quickly. Everybody left very full and happy! Will definitely return!

Perfect. The kids were swooning with delight at the waffles and my grand daughter (age 9), declared that ‘ this place is perfect! Lovely waffles and really well prepared and presented. Very friendly service. Recently under new management. Highly recommended.

What a joke. Ordered 1 waffle. 2 toppings (build your own) should be piss easy right! Nope... the guy making waffles very Rude. Waffle was made wrong! The second one was made in 60 seconds, turns out it was a burnt one that was already in a box on the side. Tried to pass it off as new. The third waffle turns out to be the first waffle that was made wrong, just with the right toppings put on top the wrong ones. What a mess! Instead making fresh ones.. two secondhand waffles passed off as new. Guy making waffles arrogant and rude. place gone down hill. Bring back previous owners. 3 trips into the shop.. 2 reused waffles and 1 burnt.. very disappointing.

- plastic in food - milkshake not as advertised - slow slow service - our server was good ( tall guy) But there were other "workers" in plain clothes walking in and out the kitchen and seating area, sat down with people talking

Waiter was nice, but food took ages even though we were some of the only people there, and the majority of our orders were wrong, and a large piece of plastic in the chocolate. Would not go again.

Popped in to have dessert after a meal out with my granddaughter, very clean, spacious. Fabulous menu of sweet and savoury waffles, drinks, Nachos , usual sides . The staff were very busy with orders to go , so waited sometime for our order but were offered a free drink to compensate for this, along with profuse apologies. The Nachos and waffles were with the wait , absolutely delicious and massive servings , granddaughter highly delighted. Very reasonable cost too , around £12 , well worth a visit.

Me and my friend travelled all the way to Paignton today to have some cookie dough, we were really excited as we had tried waffle inn in Newton Abbot before. The cookie dough quite frankly just did not taste like cookie dough, instead it tasted...

My son and I visited as they were opening yesterday! It smelt and looked lovely, clean and new! Lovely decor. The staff are really friendly and great to chat to! My son had lovely American pancakes with chocolate and ice cream, the milkshake whilst not on the menu was gladly made! My coffee was the best I’ve had here since visiting from Australia! Can’t fault the place and well worth a visit! We will be returning!

I ordered from this restaurant at 21:10. The estimate time was 21:40 - 22:10. Then the estimate time changed to 22:00 - 22:20. I waited extra 10 minutes for an update. There was no update from the restaurant. I tried contacting the restaurant and there was no answer. I then cancelled the order as there was no sign of my order or no one in the restaurant answering my calls. Never again.

Horrendous. portions have gotten much smaller with minimal sauce and toppings. Do not pick here for your desert. Terrible.

Great selection of waffles served here. Several savoury ones and build your own sweet ones from a range of toppings. They also do good crepes and ice cream milkshakes as well.

Shocking!!!! We made an order through just eat, when it arrived the waffle was not cooked properly and had the wrong topping on it. We were also missing one of our other items , so we rang them up to see if we could get it sorted and the staff member we spoke to was rude, very unprofessional and just said we can do the order again but we will have to try and get just eat to pick it up which they won’t do or we would have to pick it up even though we had paid for delivery. All in all very poor quality of food didn’t try accommodate for their mistake and just kept talking over me when I was trying to resolve the issue. Don’t offer a services if you can’t be bothered to rectify a problem which you have caused.

So I’ve been to the waffle inn twice now and I’ve gotten plastic in my waffle twice, the first time I got a voucher and they were so lovely about it, and now the second time I didn’t even get a sorry or anything, just that they didn’t want to do anything about it, I get that it’s far fetched but they’re welcome to check the CCTV footage of me taking it out of my mouth… absolutely disappointing…

Fairly decent waffles! Loads of toppings and the service was great. The only reason that it doesn't get a 5 is that there is a badly tuned in radio playing, albeit quietly, but the crackle is driving me mad!! There is no working lock on...

Very nice desert and milk shakes

It was OK. Perhaps was expecting a lot when I saw the plant based menu. Only had one portion of southern fried chicken left and it took a while to come. Expected them to be a little more crunchy than they were. Not fabulous but not awful

Wasnt that impressed with the food to start with, hash brown waffle was soggy, no crisp to it at all, the southern fried chicken was highly processed frozen crap, it was cut up into tiny bits, covered in ice cold unmelted cheese, 1 tiny peice...

Food looked good, but after watching her prepare it with her painted acrylic nails, then wiping her nose with her fingers, then handling our food. By the time it got to us, it was also cold, and the pancakes looked undercooked,we walked. Won't be going back.

Stopped in this place for lunch. Have to say was very nice. I have hash brown smoke and fire and it was lovely, also had the Reese and banana milkshake again very nice. My wife had the sticky pig she enjoyed it but wasn't on early keen on the field mushrooms she had the Fanta float with mango anf coconut gelato which she enjoyed. My son had the chocolate party and strawberry shake and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff members were friendly and polite. I would go back again as food was very nice.....

Ordered off here and was disappointed, crepes were rubbery and cold, barely any toppings, cookie dough was hard and barely any cookie dough there.

Lovely friendly service (Jasmine) to go with the delicious Lotus Flower french crepe, well definitely be returning.

Ordered byo cookie dough since it being reavailable on delivery apps is it a different cookie dough absolutely disgusting malteasers we're stale hardly and sauce and £3 for the ice cream in a tiny tub absolute scam from what it used to be. Has the changes come from new owners? Or they've changed it all to get more money and massively reduce the quality. WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!

Man that served me was nice and pleasant. Waffle with choco beanuo was lovely, waffle was a bit to eggy for me. Loads of flies around trying to land on my waffle my hand was like a fly swatter for 10 minutes so they wouldn't land on my plate!

I had a delivery from Waffle Inn Paignton and it was terrible. The crepe was rubbery and cold and the build your own cookie dough was missing the soft serve ice cream. Absolute waste of money!

Had an amazing bueno waffle and caramel milkshake. Super tasty and well worth the price. The kids had death by chocolate waffle and biscoff waffle. All went down a treat. Presentation was top notch. Ordered strawberry cheesecake waffle 3 of the items mentioned on the menu ,not on the waffle , 8 tiny pieces of fresh strawberry, hardly a topping. Ordered the salted caramel gellatto ,full of lumps of ice ,not nice at all .I do enjoy going out for waffle, will not be returning here . Also staff busy chatting, did not bring cutlery, had to lean over counter to get our own .

We ordered 2 waffles off Uber eats at 9:30pm, for the delivery driver to phone us saying the shop was shut and couldn’t get our delivery. Surely if you’ve made an order for delivery you’d wait for the delivery driver to pick the order up then close the shop? Disappointed isn’t the word as this is the first and last time we will use this place.

The wrong order was delivered, I then called the restaurant. They told me that my order will be delivered soon, after over an hour I called them. The manager had no idea what was going on and passed me over the the employee who I had originally spoke to. I was then told that I would have to collect it or call just eat and sort it out myself. Just eat charged £6 just to call. After numerous long pauses so the employee could ask the manager questions nothing was solved. Awful on the managers behalf as it would’ve saved a 10 minute phone call if she would’ve just taken charge as supposed to. Would not recommend

Was served half a children’s waffle when I ordered a children’s waffle, not half and ordered a glass of water and it never came, then waited 35 minutes when we was the only people here, not good!

Big portions for the price. If you're looking for a place to indulge, this is it. Although don't come in after you have just eaten as it is very filling. It's great that this place is open till late, not like many other local cafés. It's nicely decorated, tables are clean with single use menu's and benches are disinfected after each customer. I have noticed that they do offer delivery but I think it's best enjoyed eating in. The traditional gelato made locally has great flavour. There are also plant based options. I also wanted to thank the girls that were working today evening, as I have left my phone on the bench and they have kept it for me. Just one small suggestion, the coffee could be hotter but other than that I highly recommend this place.

Nice ice cream, not convinced it was actually gelato. Friendly staff, on the pricey side but reasonable for the cost.

Great place Really friendly and helpful staff, wide choice of puddings on the menu. Warning these puddings are BIG, I was stuffed but happy after having one. If you're not a big eater or like me a bit older, it might be worth sharing one. Average cost is about £10 a head for a pudding and drink - that was for adults, but we could easily have reduced the cost by sharing 3 waffles between the 5 of us. Overall a great place to go if you like desserts. Also very bright and clean with separate booths that seat about 6 adults, so you are separate from other diners.

Didn't have half the things on menu. Would recommend sharing waffle. One is far too much a d sickly

Great selection of items (sadly no gluten free waffles/pancakes - can't have it all), decent sized portions, very reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and helpful. Seating areas and toilets are spotlessly clean. Would highly recommend - will definitely visit again.

Huge waffle very sweet and sticky. Had wilberry (syrup choc sauce berries and ice-cream) a real treat. Place smart and clean friendly staff good music. A delight to unwind here.

The bubble waffles are insanely delicious. If these guys did Gluten Free waffles, I’d go every week but sadly I cannot put up with the bloat.
