We came in today had a lovely warm welcome from the lady behind the bar we ordered the black and blue burgers and Chicken salad and wraps they were delicious the chef brought them out himself very pleasant man overall great experience will definitely come back to try the waffles and pancakes as we were so full would definitely recommend this place

Food wasn’t good and menu very misleading about what actually comes out, the staff were super friendly and helpful would be a great spot if they did serve the menu expected (American diner not British pub food)

We were looking for an alternative to fast food premises with our grandchildren. They serve all the usual favourites here but with an interesting concept, diner style. We loved it. The place was exceptionally quiet, so you do wonder if you have made the 'right choice'. The milkshake was according to our grandson 'the best ever', and although enormous he polished it off. Our food choices were hot and plentiful. Even kids dippers were fillet chicken, very surprising. The downside, a little pricey but you have a nice view and character so it seems fair.

Chilli dog literally had the scrapings from the bottom of the chilli pan there was no physical chilli to be seen the cheese was on the plate instead of on the hot dog which was nothing more than a plain jumbo sausage and the hot dog bun was not fresh. I also ordered aside of four onion rings for £2:50 these were frozen plain old 99p a bag onion rings. When your paying £17 for this you expect it to be of a stNdarx the onion rings did not even come with a dip. Save your money and go elsewhere. I will not be going back

We got here as they were about to close and the lovely lady serving let 5 of us in for some good American food... Burgers, Chicken with Beer and Shakes all round... very enjoyable and really lovely staff...

Friendly staff,Food absolutely spot on, good portion sizes ,couldn't fault anything. Clean . Decor great. Reasonable prices. Good selection on menu. Definitely going back

Was walking along the harbour and came across this little gem! There were 16 of us. At first we were going to have their scone and tea cake deal. But half went for full on meals. The service was really nice and genuine. The food was delicious. I had the wrap which is very different for what I would normally go for. But it didn’t disappoint and was lovely. Would eat here again.

0 starts. Went in with my aunt to get breakfast the Sunday before last at 11:35AM. Ordered two english breakfasts and paid at the bar within 5 minutes of walking in. Got our drinks and sat outside for about 15 min. I went in to ask if the food is coming soon and It became obvious that the cashier had forgotten to tell the chef about it, even asked me "What did you order?" Frustrating, but I didn't want to be rude as she seemed new. She went in the kitchen and asked for it to be made. Waited another 15 min. with no effort from the staff to communicate what's going on given we're sitting outside for 30 min. now. With no food and idea what's happening, I had to go in once again and was told the food is coming out "now" with obvious annoyance from a more senior cashier. Another full 5 minutes had gone past and I went in yet again - no food in sight, and both cashiers were almost surprised that I'm chasing on food ordered 40 min ago - it was 12:15 now, the food was still not ready and I just asked for my money back as at this point the situation was ridiculous, I had no trust in them or interest eating at the restaurant. We also felt very unwelcome, although we showed nothing but patience for them. Instead of an apology, we were told the chef is new as if we could have done something about it and then proceeded to be questioned "So you think it's easy too cook, do you now?". I had absolutely no more time or energy left for this lady, we were left hungry and with our time completely wasted only to receive attitude and hostility in return. Absolute disgrace, lack of common sense and sympathy for people you've left hungry for 40 min.

It was not busy in here we ordered two breakfast we had a coke and I waited for my latte 15 minutes later I received my latte it seemed like the chef was cooking each meal separately so we had to wait for 55 minutes before we had our breakfast we spoke to the young lady who served us and told her that took along time she replied that the chef was new apart from that the breakfast was nice

If you're looking for overpriced frozen food, poor cleanliness and no atmosphere! Then you've come to the right place! Surprised the waiting staff don't wear balaclavas because this place is like daylight robbery for what they charge you. Pop to Iceland instead you'd save 75% at least

Great food and large portions. Reasonable priced. We all enjoyed our food and will be back. Friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant was very clean and tidy.

Lunch here today, very clean staff polite and friendly. Food was amazing. The view over the harbour is amazing although the rain was torrential.

We came here for breakfast, because it did pancakes which is what the children wanted. It was friendly, and staff were helpful. The food was quite nice, although I'd say the pancakes were a bit small to be "American style". Would come back.

Great service, atmosphere was great staff terrific

birthday party for a 6 year old girl - the ladies down the diner (kKm n co) were AMAZING - knocked it out the park - decorated it all in unicorns and PINK! allowed the 16 kids to run riot! fed and watered the adults - the food was fab, hot and served together - the staff helped, went above and beyond and we will go back anytime we can! The food was well cooked and arrived hot, fries were crisp. The burger meat was OK, a bit tough. It also had lettuce, red onion, and melted American cheese. Butger was bland. The wife had a chicken platter of deep fried breaded chicken was a bit bland. The decor was American diner style, clean and Service was quick and friendly.

Loved it here. Meals were braught out quickly and we're piping hot everything was cooked perfectly and the milkshake was naughty

staff where really nice, and the 2 for 1 cocktails from 4 till 7 is great value, just be careful of the stairs to the toilets as the are very steep, apart from that i will definitely visit again

Very poor service not the waiters fault Dident complete my order rd the cooks fault for not reading the order won’t go there again.

Large portions, good service, lovely food and a friendly team. Offered to serve our one year olds dish first so I could feed him before mine came out. Which meant I got to eat a hot meal! Would highly recommend.

My sons only had the milkshakes from here. After the first one, every time we passed here we had go and have another one. Really nice decor, done in an 1950s American dinner style.

The food could be better. I don’t know what it is about the American breakfast but it always looks plain and boring when it comes out. (Compared to other places) I might be being picky I don’t know. The milkshakes were great. I really enjoyed the milkshake. My favourite thing about jacks. I’ve had the pancake stack and I was disappointed. The pancakes were too small and I didn’t get enough of them! I’ve been to the USA and had American pancakes so I know what I’m looking for. I felt the pancakes at Jacks fell short. The syrup was god and plenty of it. If I could suggest some improvements it would be to increase the thickness of the pancakes by 100% (they’re really too thin, offshore’s are better in my view) and the increase the diameter of the pancakes by at least 1.5 X Add a customisation option to add cream, Nutella, syrup, peanut butter, different fruits (berries, bananas etc.) offer some sprinkles and other things like chocolate buttons to go on top. I think that would really enhance the American pancakes and make them more American. I know it’s only American themed but you wouldn’t go to Jacks unless you wanted American food. So you might as well do it properly. Will probably go back but most likely for lunch next time. Unless the pancakes get better.

Place itself looks great. Sadly that’s where it ends. Food, service is sub-par. Coffee was week and bland. Staff clearly don’t seem happy to be there. Owners conducting business in restaurant centre table and didn’t even once greet any customers while We were visiting. Very pricey for what you get. Save your money and eat elsewhere.

Charged too much for extra mayonnaise.

Kids enjoyed it but not great for adults. Our friend has a dairy intolerance but they don't have dairy free ice-cream so no good for vegans etc. Burgers 15 quid and no alcohol free beer for designated driver. I had the salad and Shirley temple mocktail.

Really nice, clean place to eat, staff really pleasant, and helpful, all three of us ate there twice, enjoy very much..food really good, would definitely recommend, thanks guysx

Nothing American about this plaice burger was terrible frozen bread roll defrosted quick as it was flaking everywhere over priced rubbish

I'd expect much higher quality food for the prices charged. Equivalent to cheap pub grub. Staff where friendly and professional.

The menu said moving mountains burger, but what actually came to the table was a soggy vegetable burger thing. Staff were polite but it was clear that they were intending on serving me something totally different from what was on the menu. It's the equivalent of ordering a beef burger only to be served a chicken burger. Staff were apologetic and were gracious in giving a refund, but it felt like a poor attitude from the restraunt to just assume that it would be acceptable to serve something totally different to what is on the menu.

Had a lovely breakfast here. We had a full house as they was lovely. Staff was lovely and pleasant. Staff met us at the door which was nice. Service was great. I would recommend this place.

Overall a lovely place to eat the food and shakes were absolutely beautiful. Only downside was my chicken burger was slight over cooked

Fantastic! Three adults one child. All burgers, fries and milkshakes were lovely. Place was very clean and the staff were so friendly. We will definitely be back.

Poped into town on my day off though I would have someing to eat and try out Jack's . Wish I had gone to Mac'ds the price is way to much, for the poor food like the burger I had it looked like a 6 year old had made it in fact they could do a better job . You need to sort it out Jack's make the food to mach your price .

Had a meal here but pricey for what it was £15 for a hotdog and chips and it tasted like a burger van sausage. Milkshakes are okay, but service lacked enthusiasm

Honestly the nicest place i have ever been to, customer service is absolutely amazing, there was a young girl behind the bar, couldn’t be any older than 20, couple tattoos on the arm. She was an ABSOLUTE darling. So kind, so friendly, i felt so welcomed and we had a lovely chat. Honestly never met a nicer young adult in my years. All the staff there are friendly, polite and very very welcoming. DEFINITELY a must to go visit if you haven’t already. We had our drinks made almost instantly and the food was to die for. We assumed it would be like mc donald’s but it was actually very nice. The woman with the fringe and black hair was so lovely too, definitely an amazing place to go to if you’re looking for a place to go. Would highly recommend

Absolutely disgusting customer service!!!! Staff got my order and my friends wrong. I ordered a chicken wrap and halloumi fries with ranch sauce on the side wich was 1£ extra for my daughter. They brought me a salad with few pieces of grilled halloumi on top instead of the fries. I told staff member that I ordered the fries and she started to argue with me about it. She basically went to the kitchen, got rid of the salad and plated the grilled halloumi pieces, as if i couldn't tell the difference between grilled and coated fried pieces. At this point, I went in to bring the plate back and ask for a refund to the manager, who quite frankly was extremely rude with no customer service skills whatsoever. I requested a refund for the salad they charged me incorrectly and the ranch sauce. The manager told me I was not charged for the ranch sauce and asked her staff member if I ordered the sauce, wich she firstly said "I don't know" then proceeded to just blankly say No. I felt highly insulted as she was lying deliberately in my face. I didn't want to argue over 1£ so I let it go. As I was walking away to go back to my table outside, I heard the manager talking behind my back saying that I was rude, wich is absolutely unacceptable for a manager !!!! As I got to my table, I found that someone brought the ranch sauce they swear I never asked for!! What an absolute joke this place is!! I went back in to return the sauce. After all this horrible encounter, I lost my appetite and I couldn't even eat the wrap I ordered. My friends went to use the toilet before we left and tried to speak to the manager who had a disgusting behaviour and told my friends to quote "disappear now". I have never been anywhere in my life with such a nasty and unacceptable customer service.

Had a late lunch in here, staff were very nice. My daughter has a thing where she has to use her own straw and accidently left it there. I opted for the cream tea that comes with 2 scone's, as you can see by my pictures there wasn't enough cream for all scone, I was a little disappointed, but I'd eaten enough at that point. If you need to use the toilet, prepare for a mountain climb up some stairs.

No stars if it was possible! Very rude staff absolutely disgusting attitude specially from who seemed to be the manager . Took orders wrong , charged for things we never got, got an order of a halloumi salad when we asked for halloumi fries so we then got a plate with the halloumi that was on the salad in the plate as halloumi fries! Got told that we have bad attitude because we complained , when we wanted to leave we went in to speak calmly to the staff and manager about the problem, manager kept asking if we wanted a free drink as if we were just wanting something for free and when we said we are not after getting anything for free we are only asking for an apology the manager said that she is not giving anyone an apology and then got told to leave the place.

What a lovely place !! perfect for a summer beer..great view of the dock, combined with excellent fries and beer and chicken wings, lovely and kind staff - nothing can get better on a perfect sunny day. Must visit place for a reasonable food and beer. My kid loved the milkshake !! Excellent in everything..

We had a cup of coffee there at about 11.30am. Staff were happy and helpful. With a typical American dinner feel it's both bright and clean. Would recommend to anyone paying a visit to the Harbour area.

The waffles were good but this place is let down by the vile male server. Offhand, rude and short with elderly customers today.Never again!

Nice place lovely staff average food

Horrendous! Ordered chicken wings, cheesy bacon fries and onion rings and it was all apparently cooked fresh in less than 2 minutes it took from ordering and it to be sat on my table. Chicken was cooked barely surprised it wasnt still clucking, was actually soggy and slimey and was slightly ill the next day. Chips were basicly microwaved and stale, onion rings tasted soggy like they werent even defrosted properly! But apprently fresh. Raised the issue with the front of house and no refund was even offered. WOULD FULLY AVOID.

Decided to try this place out. Had an American breakfast and was expecting something big. Extremely disappointed and it was tiny. My kid had an English breakfast and that was bigger. The food was nice but small. No where near value for money. Cost £70 just for 3 breakfasts and a kids meal plus milkshakes.

Food was disgusting. Cold bun, undercooked bacon, everything expensive, cold and noised fries. I don't recommend this pub at all.

Lovely little place with a lovely view

Paid £28 for 2 hot dog meals which were less than satisfying. Hot dogs were chip shop style sausages, not American hot dogs. Bland cheese, and lack of onions (surely a cheap way to make something look loaded). Buns fall apart. Ate 1.5 chips. Coleslaw could easily be homemade and of much better quality/taste. Would have actually preferred cheaper hot dog made of questionable meat and single cheese than that. Both ate half the hot dog as we were so hungry and left the rest. Wouldn't recommend. Positives are - clean, and fitting decor.

I had a big cheese and it it had a measly bit of cheese in it the burger meat was cheap and nasty I suspect was from frozen when I was queuing a man came and slammed down a tray of cutlery so hard I jumped out of my skin service was good but all round disappointing food wouldn’t return again 👎

Great place to stop for a cream tea or burgers and shakes. The staff are really friendly and the food very good. Seating outside is under cover with a view across the marina towers the other side of the inner harbour.

Fantastic burgers fries milkshakes and smoothies

Just had a lovely full house breakfast here. The hash browns were so good. I don't normally eat them. But these were gorgeous. Lovely, friendly people with a great view of Torquay harbour. Have been before and will come back again.
