Kessa coffee house in Eastbourne

Just wanted a late lunch and fancied the look of this place. Lovely polite service and the Afghani food was exceptional, highly recommended.

The food is amazing. Yaghana Samim is a wonderfully polite and friendly person. Lovely little spot to for lunch or a drink.

This coffee shop serves a great breakfast and lunch as well as delicious cakes and hot and cold drinks My wife is coeliac and as well as gluten-free bread, there have been 2 (incredibly delicious) gluten-free cake options each time we have been. It's so nice to be able to sit and have a "cake and coffee moment" together - very often, it's just a hot drink, as although there may be plenty of dessert offerings for me, there are very few places that cater quite so well for my wife. The staff are welcoming and polite, the food is delicious, the coffees are great, what more could you ask? OK, so ..... they do a fantastic homemade lemonade with mint in (incredibly refreshing!) some delicious homemade milkshakes made to order, delicious afghan shakshuka for breakfast and afgan dishes for lunch and then bookshelves of charity books available for a voluntary donation - which donations then go to children's charities to help those less fortunate. A wonderful place to spend a few minutes or an hour, enjoying your coffee and a chat. Try it, please, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as we do on our visits to Eastbourne.

Food was good however service was poor, and we were overcharged, which led to a negative interaction. When we queried this we were told “we’re kinda busy” by another staff member, suggesting they weren’t going to help resolve the issue. No apology and it left a negative taste. Despite the food being tasty, we won’t be back, and having spoken to friends, someone else has experienced a similar issue of being overcharged.

Lovely place to stop for coffee and cake but also do panini and breakfasts.We had a delicious lunch of Afghan chicken stew with rice and it was delightful soft separate grains of rice and a rich tomato sauce delicately spiced, all freshly cooked by the owner. 10/10 for this family run cafe

Highly recommended, the food is amazing and cooked to order. I had the chicken biryani with mango chutney - yummy! The place is also dog friendly which is a massive bonus for us.

Great food! I have been a big fan of chicken biryani and been trying out biryani from restos i run into. Kessa’s CHICKEN BIRYANI WITH MANGO CHUTNEY is by far the best!

Ive been here twice with my sister. The most recent visit today as good as the first. The coconut and banana milkshake is tasty, the coffee and tea is good. But the Shakshouka is the reason we returned. This time we had the special shakshouka with lamb and it was delicious. The staff are always very welcoming and lovely, checking how much spice we would like in the shakshouka. We also enjoyed a pistachio twist after which was nice. We look forward to returning and will try more on the menu, as it all sounds nice. Thank you and see you soon.

Kessa Coffee House was the best coffee I’ve ever had.I had an ice coffee with Hazelnut Syrup and it was amazing,would definitely come back

This cafe is a lovely tranquil spacious friendly place right on busy Terminus Road at the seafront end. Excellent place to have breakfast, just coffee, brunch, lunch, teas.. delicious Middle Eastern style food available - very good for vegetarians. Owned and operated by very friendly accommodating people. Several tables occupied by groups of friends all having quiet chats and enjoying delicious food.

We attended the cafe on recommendation of a friend of ours and were excited to try the food. We ordered poached eggs on avacado toast @ £8 each. We were the first to order food and 7 other tables came in after, we were the second to last table to receive our food 24 minutes from the point of purchase. The produce is of low standard which comes through in the taste and the cutlery is paper thin and almost unusable as it bends when you use it. The ladies seemed nice who were in the restaurant and the premises are clean with a nice touch of a book shelf donation system. I would encourage you to work on better organisation, improve the quality of the produce and enhance communication with customers when there is a mishap as communication goes a long way in situations such as this one.

Found this lovely place by chance on Boxing Day. Absolutely wonderful lunch - tasty food, generous portions and a really wide-ranging menu. Afghan specialities and regular lunch options… great service. Loved loved loved.

Great find for lunch, says coffee house but they offer so much more. Had a really tasty lunch so will definitely return. Had vegetarian biryani.

Coffee was superb. Highly recommend the Afghan style shakshuka, it's meaty, flavourful and made with good quality ingredients. The lady tending to the cafe was so lovely. She cooks everything fresh!

Lovely clean and spacious coffee house, just down from the seafront. Friendly welcome and great service. The avocado on toast with 2 poached eggs was a lovely breakfast. The cortado coffee is really good and presented so nicely.

Such delicious reasonably priced lunches. I really recommend you try this very friendly cafe. We had the home-made lemonade, a lovely aubergine dish and a chicken curry. We will certainly be going back.

Had lovely coffee with a delicious, warm carrot cake yesterday, so came back for lunch today and we weren’t disappointed. Very tasty food, delivered promptly by friendly staff. And the place is pleasant and cool in today’s heat! We will be back for more.

I have been here several times now and have always had a great welcome and good service. The coffee is excellent and on a future visit I will have some of the lovely food I have seen other enjoying.

We decided to hold a volunteer "thank you" gathering at Kessa Coffee House in the evening. Everyone had such a fabulous time. Yaghana's food is absolutely delicious!! Every plate is "made with such love". I would recommend Kessa Coffee House to anyone considering hosting a gathering with friends, family and colleagues! The restaurant is spotless and and the space is beautiful!

That is definitely my favourite breakfast place in Eastbourne. Tasty and exotic looking food. If you fancy something different than boring English breakfast that is a place for you! I will be back :)

Very Tasty Food - especially the Afghan Biriyanis and Afghan Sala and Afghan tea infused with Cardamom. Very sociable environment fostered by the proprietors. It is called 'Coffee House', but it is more than that, it is a great restaurant.

This is a new business. My friends had the toasted panini and I had the Afghan Lamb Biriyani. Absolutely delicious. One of the best things you will eat. The seasoned rice was out of this world. Freshly made and hot.

The food here is great, sadly the owner/chef is not too good at self promotion. The place needs more customers to create an atmosphere. please go give it a try. Also dog friendly(for werl behaved dogs)
