Went with some friends for an evening meal and was thoroughly disappointed. The food is basically pub grub - nothing wrong with that, but here they’re charging 3x what a pub would. £28 for a thin rib eye steak, that I asked to be cooked medium rare was presented well done. I sent it back and asked that the replacement be rare, but this too was mostly all well done with barely any pink meat. At this point I gave up and just ate it. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Bristol has lots of great restaurants, so go and check out some of those.

Prices are rather high, portions are large, but the food is very average. It's probably better to let it go.

Ordered Room service. Overpriced. Forgot requested drink and condiments when they dropped food off. Burger bun was wet soggy and chicken was overcooked.

First the cafe is quiet and spacious. Music is not obtrusive and atmospheric. Ordered 2 sandwiches and Prosecco from the menu. The menu is pretty clear about discounts on orders but the staff made up something about what was available despite the menu being very clear. Felt bad arguing the point since the bar staff weren’t trained and doing their best. Order came to over £40 for 2 glasses of Prosecco and 2 mediocre sandwiches.

Spent most of my afternoon doing some life admin. Clean and nice atmosphere. Great music appropriate for an afternoon work. Lovely service and food. Excellent customer service from all the staff throughout the day, very nice and approachable.

Lovely place to eat. Calming atmosphere and friendly staff. You seat yourself anywhere available on arrival and then I went to the bar to place food and drink order. Food portion size was good and the chicken burger was delicious. Reasonably priced too. Staff were excellent. Breakfast buffet in the morning had lots of choices and was good quality. I was dining alone and got a coffee before heading to the buffet... this was a kistake as by the time I'd returned to my table they had already cleared my coffee away! At least they're efficient but a shame to waste an undrunk drink. Needless to say, I watched my food carefully when collecting another coffee! I was there for a conference and the lunch choices were excellent too. Thank you to all your staff.

Had a cocktail (or two!) whilst staying in the hotel. This is a nice comfortable bar, soft lighting and no loud music. Cocktails were very good and reasonable price (thanks Kiara for one of the best espresso martinis). Will definitely visit again

Came in for an after dinner drink and ended up staying for a few. Thought I’d just get the normal g&t but saw they had a drinks menu so ended up going for one of their cocktails and I’m so glad I did - the pornstar Martini was delicious. The atmosphere was also very comfortable, great for a city center night tipple.

I’m pleasantly surprised by this place, just happened to walk past to get away from the busy Bristol Saturday night streets and stop for a drink. Ordered a pint and a cocktail and both were fantastic, definitely one to come back to.

Really impressed with this place, food was delicious and you can’t fault the portion sizes. The vurger was a pretty solid veggy burger and the pork fillet was spot on. At a push I’d say the burger could have done with a bit less relish but that might be personal preference. We came at the end of service so can’t say much about the atmosphere but the decor was comfortable and staff were attentive. Looking forward to coming back and trying the cocktails.

We just wanted a hot drink on a chilly February afternoon. We also asked if they had any cakes or biscuits but the answer was no. My English breakfast tea was fine, although I had nowhere to put the tea bag, but my wife's hot chocolate was lukewarm at best. The staff were friendly but we expected more from a Mercure.

We stayed at the hotel and had a lovely breakfast in the Keepers dining room. The breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. It was served hot and was very tasty.

We've dined at Keeper's in Oxford and enjoyed our meals. So with that in mind and the setting within the Mercure, Grand Hotel we decided to give it a try. There were a few tables available and we chose a booth. We were shown to the booth and shortly afterwards a male server came to our table. My initial thought was he didn't look like someone that would do that job. More like someone in a managerial position. We ordered our meals, Beefburger and chips and a Ham & Cheese Toastie with chips. He returned with the meals after a 10 to 15 minute wait and my wife immediately realised that her meal was a chicken burger. He asked her if she didn't mind chicken but that wasn't what she wanted.He presented me with my meal and said it was a Club Sandwich. It wasn't. I took a bite of my Ham & Cheese toastie and it was lukewarm. When he returned I told him and he agreed. We eventually received our chosen hot meals. When we settled up he waived the charge of the burger which was a nice gesture. If we return to Bristol it wouldn't put us off trying this restaurant again. It was just one of those things that happen when you dine out. The restaurant was clean and comfortable and the menu was quite varied.

So well looked after by Afsana and Eve who defines got my mood up after such bad day at the dentist, I asked for a tea and they were nice enough to get me a straw too and had the patience to listen me carefully as i couldn’t talk very well, Thank you so much if you’re seeing this!

The fish and chips were not available so went for pork chop with sautéed potatoes and greens. The food arrived cold and the potatoes were boiled and tough. I sent the dish back. A few minutes later it arrived hot but the potatoes were still undercooked and tough. It was late and I was hungry so I ate the dish. Staff were very pleasant but there was no offer of money back or complimentary drinks. Would not visit again.

Went there on a Friday night for dinner. It was practically empty. We were seated promptly, and that's the last we ever saw of the staff. Sat there for half an hour and no one even came to take our drink order. Like they'd just forgotten about us the minute they'd seated us. Granted, there seemed to be a larger event, maybe a wedding, going on in the hotel and quite a few people came to the bar to order drinks (beer, nothing complicated), but that's no excuse for letting us wait for that long. There were 3 people working the bar, and there were only two tables occupied for eating. Staff seemed very distracted, slow and unorganized to say the least. We left after 30+ minutes of waiting, not having had anything to eat or drink, so can't comment on the food. Decor was very nice.

Adjacent to the main hotel, the Keepers Kitchen & Bar is very spacious with quirky decor. For a Friday evening, it was very quiet. Wine was not the best quality, and very expensive!

Hadn’t booked a table here even though we were checking into the hotel as we had booked into an Indian nearby but we were delayed arriving so dined at the hotel instead It was very quiet in there so had the choice of tables Lovely Xmas decorations made it really pretty Ok choice of food although a few meals weren’t available at the time The grazing board starter was enough for the 3 of us and the food was lovely and hot and fresh The main meals were spot on again hot and fresh Desserts were small but very nice. We went to this great venue after getting married at Bristol registration office which is opposite (it was a small intimate affair) and we did our wedding toast here, so drank lots of champagne! Paedro and his team were fantastic and so organised and thoughtful and laid out all our drinks beautifully and made our special day even more special. Thank you all!

We popped in here for a night cap after a meal out and I ordered a beer. After a while one of the bar staff asked if I’d like to try a Espresso Martini he had experimented with using a locally made honey rum. I’m not a massive fan of Martini’s but gave it a go. It was the nicest drink I’ve ever tasted! If you like cocktails you must go here, even if you don’t the bar is a really nice chilled place and comfortable. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in Bristol and asking for the Keepers special Espresso Martini!

2 x forgot to bring drinks and forgot to bring desert....sloppy. Staff is friendly but lacks profesionalism. Breakfast is a chaos: slowest coffee machine in the world and finished items every morning. Drinks are pricey and small.

We ate in the Keepers when we stayed in the Grand Hotel. We got to the hotel quite late so chose to eat in the restaurant as it was easier for us then going to find somewhere else to eat. Due to it being late when we arrived at the hotel it was nice to sit in the restaurant as it was very quiet. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the decor of the Keepers is nice! For starters we had the Oriental Platter; Assorted dim sum, vegetable samosa, plum duck spring rolls, asian slaw, cucumber salad, prawn crackers, Keepers honey & hoi sin dip which was £15 and then we had a pizza for main. The sharing platter we had for starter was incredible (the Keepers honey and hoi sin dip was delicious) and really filled us up so we didn’t actually eat much of the pizza but the pizza was nicely cooked and very tasty. Keepers on Broad Street in Bristol is a definitely a great place to relax and unwind either on your own or with friends and family. The bar and restaurant are set in the iconic Grand Hotel which is not far from the quayside and the town centre.

A little confused. Trying to be something other than another hotel restaurant or bar which they've not quite nailed. Drinks selection is very average and most of the staff weren't entirely sure how to make anything on their cocktail menu. I didn't eat on my visit so hard to comment on the food.
